For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "Was prescribed this drug once a day for heavy bleeding that would not stop. I am 48 years old and I guess going through the change. It took 3 weeks but this med made the bleeding go away. To the ladies that have only been taking a few days and still bleeding, give it some time before you give up."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I started bleeding July 15 and it’s now Sep 14 I went to my doctor they did an ultrasound they said everything looked fine blood work came back fine and that sometimes it’s just the way it is not knowing why I’m bleeding so much! Anyways I threw a fit with the doctor told her bleeding during intercourse and so much is not normal! She tried to tell me it was the positions we were doing and I said no, I just want to know why. So she prescribed provera 10mgs 1 tablet a day for 10 days. I am now on day 6 and the bleeding went from a little to so heavy I am changing my pads every hour! My cramps are unbearable and there is so many blood clots! I just emailed my doctor to see what she says fingers crossed that she can help give me answers!"

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I am 52 years old and clearly have been through the change of life. I've had no period for years. All of a sudden, I have some spotting so I go to my doctor. He does a surgical procedure to scrape the lining of my uterus and then puts me on 2, 10 mg Medroxyprogesterone a day, for 20 days. Four days after my last pill the bleeding started. I have NEVER had such a bad period in all of my 52 years of life! I have had 3 children and this is worse than the labor of all three!! I will NEVER take that medicine again!! They can do a hysterectomy and take the womb I haven't needed in decades. I can't even leave the house because when I stand up, I gush blood!! Roll over in bed, gush blood!! Not Happy!! Why didn't my doctor warn me about this?????"

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I took Provera 5mg for abnormal uterine bleeding. Basically my period went on for almost three weeks. I went to the hospital (had a ultrasound & everything was fine.) they told me to take the pills for 7 days once a day. I took 2 a day for 3 days & the last pill on the 4th day. I'm a heavy set girl so 10mg wouldn’t have hurt me. The first day I took them I took them in the morning & by the afternoon the bleeding stopped. Throughout me taking the medication I had no bleeding. Three days after the last pill was taken my period came on. I just woke up one morning & I was spotting. By that night I was bleeding very heavy. I wanna say the heaviest I ever been but most of it was blood clots. All sizes. That went on for about 5 days then the 6th morning it almost instantly stopped. I was spotting very lightly & by that night it completely stopped. I’m a 20 year old by the way. Have not been diagnosed with PCOS or any of the sort."

For Amenorrhea "I have PCOS and haven’t had regular (if any at all) periods for 2 years since coming off the contraceptive pill. Doctor prescribed me provera for 10 days and 2 days after finishing this 10 day course, I got my period. During the 10 days I had a little breast tenderness, cramping and moodiness but very mild."

For Amenorrhea "I was on depo provera injection for 7 years, came off the injection and was missing my menstrual cycle for 7 months to follow. Husband & I are TTC, so OBGYN put me on provera 10mg x 7 days to strike my cycle. I had brown spotting lightly on day 6 and 7 after stopping provera, thought it didn’t work properly, called my doctor and got worried. Actual flow didn’t come until day 16 after stopping provera. The period was moderate, nothing extreme and lasted 3 days. We’re not quite sure if it was a provera withdraw bleed or my body getting back into function..but needless to say, it did something! Now hoping and waiting for a positive ovulation test! Be advised-It can take up to 3 weeks for a withdraw bleed from provera, give it some time!"

For Amenorrhea "Hello everyone! I just wanted to give a recent review in provera. Before I started provera tablets my issue was I didn't have a period for 4 months and I didn't understand why. My doctor tested my hormones and everything came back normal. I was so frustrated and confused because I didn't understand why my period had stopped. My boyfriend and I are trying for our third child, so not having a period was a big problem. Finally my doctor prescribed me provera. 1 pill for 10 days. After 3 days post taking the pill my period finally come yayyyyy!!! I was so nervous because reading the reviews had me feeling like the provera wasn't going to work. So I would recommend this medicine for anybody that have irregular periods or if your periods stop."

For Amenorrhea "Took 10mg Provera for 7 days for fertility reasons. Will NEVER take this medication again. I got such severe anxiety to the point where I ended up going to ER because I thought something was wrong with me. I have never had such emotional instability in my life. About 3 weeks after taking the last pill my panic attacks finally subsided. Also my vision is all messed up now and I am having muscle twitches. I did get my period, but was too bothered by all the provera side effects that I didn’t end up going through with the clomid."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I was having severe bleeding with large clots which lasted for 3 weeks. Finally saw the Doctor and he gave me 10mg for 10 days. This is day 9. I stopped bleeding 2 days ago. I love this medicine, really. I'm hungry more often, but that's okay. Unsure what will happen when I stop taking it."

For Amenorrhea "Took Provera 10mg for 7days. Then waited for withdrawal bleed which seemed like forever, by day 9 I called GYN panicked thinking it wasn’t working, she said it could take up to 14 days after taking last pill to work. Was getting discouraged, setup appointment with Gyn for 14th day to discuss my other options, BUT on day 11 I started my flow! Be patient unlike myself, it really does work! Will be taking Clomid again after 5 days which has given me more side effects in the past than Provera did. Took at night before bed with little side effects."

For Amenorrhea "I had irregular periods all through 2020, then 2021 I missed 4 periods in a row, I took provera 10mg for 10 days, On the 6th day after my last pill my period came, yay!!! but 9 days later I’m still bleeding, I don’t know how much longer I’ll have to bleed for, but the bleeding is normal with zero cramps. I recommend provera for every lady out there battling with Amenorrhea and irregular periods."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I was bleeding heavily for a month with extremely large blood clots that made it difficult and stressful to even leave the house. It was seriously affecting my quality of life and emotional well being. My Dr. prescribed Provera 10mg twice a day for ten days. After the second dose, the blood clots had completely disappeared. By the third dose, no bleeding at all. This medicine was like a miracle for me. I am happy to have my life back. I noticed I am having a headache, but it's not that bad. I'll take a headache any day over the suffering I endured with that excessive bleeding/clotting."

For Amenorrhea "I've always had VERY Irregular periods due to kidney failure. Im 22 years old and have went as long as 6 years without a period. The first time I was prescribed Provera I took 1 10 mg pill a day for 10 days. It took 2 weeks to get my period, I was so excited because I didn't think it was going to work for me. My period came back for 6 months without missing a beat, after it stopped coming I had to redose and I'd get it for another 6 months at a time. I was having the worst time falling but finally a miracle happened for me! If it wasnt for provera giving me my period Im almost certain I wouldn't be holding my baby girl in my arms. I would give it a 10 rating if it wasn't for me having to redose so often"

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I’m a 27 yr old woman I was diagnosed with PCOS at age 25 but always had irregular periods last May I had a tube removed because of it ruptured due to ectopic pregnancy. Around April I missed my period and it did not come for a month and a half then I started spotting for weeks I finally went to the doctor and they prescribed a birth control pill 2 a day for 2 weeks which did not work and caused the bleeding to get heavier after I finished the pills. It also caused me to have lower back paid tender breast and diarrhea everyday. Now I’m on Provera 10 for 10 days. Currently on day 3 the cramps are horrible and the bleeding is super heavy and I still have all the same symptoms plus a headache similar to a hangover. I am so tired of bleeding and being told it’s normal. I feel so depressed and hopeless. I’m going to stick with it though because it’s my only hope atm"

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "Good evening, I stated my cycle like normal only it lasted over a month. I freaked and went to the Doctor because I was going insane. Got given a 14 day course of Provera and I've been taking it for 2 days now and the bleeding has stopped completely. I'm scared that if I stop taking it I'll start to bleed again. I have to go back to get the ultrasound to figure out what happened. I've always had irregular periods but normally I just would skip 3 or 4 months. And start lasting 4-5 days most of the time it's stress. This time it started and was beyond heavy. Not a lot of pain thought. I wish everyone hope. For the madness we all share.. thanks for the comments. It's helped me a lot.."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I always had regular periods and never took contraceptives & have no kids. I took Spironolactone for severe acne at age 49 and I had non-stop bleeding/spotting for nearly 2 months afterwards. The bleeding got worse and terrible cramps started. I have anemia and also a large fibroid. Ended up in the emergency room. Provera 10mg 3 times a day & Tranexamic acid 500mg 3 times 2 tablets were prescribed. I did not take Provera at first because I was worried, it's another hormone pill. A day later, I noticed Tranexamic only works for 8 hours and if the next dose comes late, I bled heavily again. So, I started taking Provera. Miraculously, within 3.5 days, the bleeding stopped. Side effects were reasonable: cramps, headache. I read all reviews before taking Provera and saw a 35% chance. I am glad I took the pill because it worked for me. I found a common negative review. All women stated they never had regular periods and they were on and off contraceptive pills before the irregular bleeding. I feel for all women who go through this; it is awful!"

For Amenorrhea "Taking Provera was the worst decision I ever made. My period was very heavy. I was told by my OBGYN that it was going to delay my period but it made me worse than I was before taking it. Day 5 of my period and still a heavy flow. Still have pain. I found out after taking it I will have another period 3-7 days after having a 10 day cycle. I can’t have this much bleeding."

For Amenorrhea "I took provera because I have irregular periods and I was told it would help induce my periods. I took 10 mg for 10 days. I had a mild headache the first two days then my body got used to it. I had my period a day after my 10th pill and it was regular nothing abnormal. I would recommend it."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I was prescribed these to delay my period for 3 weeks whilst on holiday, they delayed it for about 7 days but I still got my period then had heavy, irregular bleeding for approximately 2 months. I have PCOS so my periods are extremely irregular but only last 5 days and are light to normal. This medication wasn't any good for me at all and along with the spontaneous, heavy bleeding I had terrible pain and large clots. I'll never take them again. I've had northisterone in the past to delay my period and they were brilliant. This is just my experience and every woman is different."

For Amenorrhea "PCOS and irregular periods..... I take Provera to start my period if it has been longer than 3 months (sometimes a little longer if I get too comfortable) I typically take one 10 mg pill daily x 7-10 days. If I take it for the full 10 days, I will start my period either a day after coming off the pill or within 3 days. If I take it less than 10 days, it usually takes anywhere from 3-14 days to start my cycle. I recently passes a kidney stone (ouch) which interrupted my provera schedule so I was only able to make it dose # 4. Today is day 11 after taking the last pill and I have started my cycle."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "My doctor put me on 10 mg Provera for two weeks due to menorrhagia. I had been bleeding heavily for two weeks when I started with the medication. Provera slowed my vaginal bleeding down to a medium flow, some times even a light flow, but it never stopped the bleeding. On the 14th day, and last day of Provera, I started getting bad cramps that lasted for two and a half days. A day AFTER I stopped with Provera, it was like someone turned on a faucet. Blood is gushing out of me. It’s like when you sit down and urinate, only it’s blood gushing out of my uterus. It was really scary until I came on here and saw that extremely heavy bleeding seem to be normal when you first stop with Provera. Luckily, I’ve been off work the last two days and stayed in bed or on the toilet. Third day of being off Provera is tomorrow, which is also when I’m back at work. Hoping the bleeding will have slowed down a little bit by then."
