For Bowel Preparation "The taste? Cough syrup and ipecac. The flavor of this medicine makes me gag, tears spring to my eyes, and I got down 5 small gulps before vomiting. Finishing it or the second bottle is unfeasible. Have to reschedule and find an alternative; my body won't allow it."

For Bowel Preparation "The taste is awful. I mixed the first bottle with water as directed. I held my nose and chugged down 1/3 of the poop juice at a time, finishing in 7 minutes, a swig of chicken broth between chugs rid the taste. I'm a 70 yr. young man. I almost vomited - fighting through dry heaves from the first bottle. The water chaser helped keep it down. My bowels started evacuating in 10 minutes. The warm liquid exiting my butt contained a few solid stools but mostly liquid. I didn't do the 2nd dose. Turns out I didn't need to. No problem with colonoscopy. Warning... I went to lay down but had to jump up to the bathroom when more liquid escaped my butt, wetting my underwear. Good idea to put a towel down on your bed!"

For Bowel Preparation "I have had to do bowel prep twice in my life for colonoscopies. In the hospital, they use a different mixture or concoction of stuff that tastes better, and you have a longer space of time to get all your liquid in. Anyway, I am a small 20-something, the amount of liquid you have to drink wasn't what bothered me, although I did come close to vomiting on round two from getting too full of liquid. It has to be the taste of this darn stuff that gets me! I hate it! So the quicker you down it, the better. Then get yourself some good-tasting fresh water. I have had worse experiences in life anyway, so this isn't that bad. Although I would suggest getting very large bedtime maxi pads, just in case... I leaked a little, and the pads saved my sheets."

For Bowel Preparation "The taste was like no other. Gagging quickly ensued, followed by desperate attempts to wash down the vile substance with apple juice. Just when I thought the worst was over and realizing I had finally finished drinking the Suprep, a rumble consumed my entire body, and I ran to the bathroom. I am not a fan of exercise, but this made me wish I had done more cardio in the past. When I reached the toilet, I cannot express the rate at which liquid projected from my butt. I swore that I lifted at least a foot from the toilet on some thrusts. My boyfriend was nice enough to bring me a TV, iPad, cell phone, heater, and water bottle as we realized I would have to bunker down for the night."

For Bowel Preparation "This really wasn’t so bad at all! I was terrified going into it, having read about nausea and vomiting and other weird side effects, but it was totally fine. The taste is vile, yes, but just distract yourself and you can power through it. It’s actually quite nice compared to the Gatorade-Miralax prep because, for whatever reason, you do catch a little break in between preps. I dare say I’d prefer it to the Gatorade-Miralax prep for that reason. I got to nap for a few hours in between. It’s also very effective at its job. Would recommend...don’t be scared of this one!"

For Bowel Preparation "The first bottle went down, but I had an almost instant, very bad headache. After half an hour, I became very nauseous, and it was all I could do to keep it down. I had a very hard time following up with the 2 glasses of water after and was nauseated all night. In the morning, with the 2nd dose, I still had a terrible headache, and within 15 mins of drinking 2/3 of the solution, I had uncontrollable vomiting. Was dizzy and felt like passing out. It continued for 4 hours until I had to go to the emergency room. I received fluids, IC Zofran, IC Pepcid, IC magnesium, and oral potassium. Still had a headache the next day. Had to cancel and reschedule my procedure and wasted 2 workdays off. Terrible reaction and experience."

For Bowel Preparation "I vomited the entire first dose of 16 oz and anything else that was in the system, dry heaves, nothing would stay down. I could not keep from vomiting up the anti-nausea medicine. Ended up in urgent care for IV fluids and anti-nausea medication. Since everything was vomited, it did not prep for the procedure, which had to be canceled. Miserable experience with no benefit whatsoever."

For Bowel Preparation "Wow, was I scared to start this prep after reading the reviews. Luckily, it could not have been easier for me! First off, the taste is NOT THAT BAD! I am not a drinker because I don't really care for the taste of alcohol, and to me, it tastes like a fruity alcohol drink. I did mix with Crystal Light, did the lemon wedge dipped in sugar chaser, and used a straw...easy peasy!! I was worried about nausea/vomiting, so I took it slow...30-45 minutes for each dose. No cramping, stomach ache, nausea...just lots of pooping!!! Will not hesitate to use this prep again."

For Bowel Preparation "Horrible, horrible stuff! I barely got the first half down and fought back throwing it up all night long. There was no way I could do the second half the next morning. Thank God the first half was enough to do the trick. You would think that by now, with as routine as this procedure has become, someone would have come up with a prep that doesn't make you wish for death."

For Bowel Preparation "Never, never again will I subject my body to the Suprep Bowel Prep Kit. I'll never be able to tolerate anything grape flavored again. I've had tremendous success with the Gatorade method, which I'll be using forward. I mixed the first chilled bottle with 7-Up. Finished at 5:15 and was in the bathroom from 5:30 to 10:30. Up at 3:30. Up at 5:30. The second bottle was mixed with Sprite. The first mouthful ended up going down the drain. Much gagging. Ended up being able to drink ½ the mixture. In the bathroom from 7:30 to 10:30. Once you get past the clean-out, the rest is a piece of cake. The hospital had a new scope that used CO2 to inflate intestines - no more gas build-up. Home within a short amount of time and feeling good tonight."

For Bowel Preparation "I'm only giving this medication a 6 because it worked. When I drank the 2 pm drink, it took me 20 minutes because of the taste, and I kept gagging. When I was finished, I drank the 32 oz of water with difficulty because I was so bloated, and I felt like I was going to throw up. The Suprep started working in about an hour. Second dose at 7 pm comes around, and after the first sip, I had to sprint to the bathroom and vomited everywhere because I couldn't make it. It was horrible. After that, I got 1/3 of the liquid down and started vomiting again. After that, I put it over ice and was finally able to get the rest of it down (took me a while). I never want to use this prep ever again."

For Bowel Preparation "First dose went down pretty easy. I just held my breath and gulped it down. The 32 oz of water, though, was tough to get down within an hour, but I did. I started having movements about 1-1/2 hours after taking it, which lasted for about 3 hours. The second dose was another story!!! It was hard to get down, and the water was twice as hard to drink. I ended up throwing up 3 times. However, I guess I got enough down for a clear colonoscopy. Thank goodness!!! I also had dizziness and chills."

For Bowel Preparation "I tolerated the first bottle of Suprep fairly and had results within 30 min. My body rejected the second bottle. Vomited from midnight until 7 am. I was totally depleted and had a terrible headache. Got to the point of just dry heaving and couldn’t even keep a bit of water down. I could barely walk into the endoscopy center. They had to give me Zofran and fluids before administering the propofol sedation. Felt better when I woke up but stayed home from work the next day because I still didn’t feel right. Will not put myself through this prep again."

For Bowel Preparation "I found the Suprep very difficult to take. I followed a low fiber/light diet at least 3 days prior. The straw was somewhat helpful. But the buildup of whatever chemical they put in the prep was quickly overwhelming. I got through the first dose but threw up after drinking all the water. It started working after 5 minutes. I had a lot of discomfort, cramping, and chills. The cramping was relieved after I started going. I was disappointed it took so many trips to the bathroom. After starting the 2nd dose, the fluids started running clear. I did not finish all the second dose. I was happy to pour about the last one-quarter cup away and everything associated with it. My endoscopy and colonoscopy went fine. I will never do the Suprep again."

For Bowel Preparation "I read the reviews and took some advice. The taste of Suprep isn’t pleasant but is not the worst. It doesn’t taste like Robitussin or NyQuil. Two days before my colonoscopy, I ate light: one egg, toast, and iced coffee for breakfast, an arugula salad for lunch, and chicken soup for dinner. The day before, a liquid diet: lots of water, Crystal Light, Powerade, ginger ale, and wonton soup (broth only). A variety of liquids kept me hydrated and my stomach ready for the laxative. I didn’t experience nausea, vomiting, or stomach cramps. I like that I didn’t have bowel movements all night as I expected. You will go all water and know when you're completely clean as the colors in your bowel movements get lighter. Vaseline and baby wipes help to avoid chapped skin."

For Bowel Preparation "This prep was very difficult for me to get down. After getting the first bottle mixed and finished, I proceeded to throw up the entire mix. Now I didn't know what to do. So I waited about an hour and decided to mix the second bottle and try again. I used an orange wedge to suck on between sips. I got about 2/3 of it down and managed to keep it down. Amazingly, it cleaned me out and my colonoscopy was able to be done."

For Bowel Preparation "In the Harry Potter movies, there is a scene in which Dumbledore has to drink a vile liquid from a fountain on an island. He makes Harry vow to force him to drink it no matter how much he protests. This is EXACTLY how I felt. The smell of the mixture made me gag, but I got the first dose and 32 ounces of water down. It worked almost immediately. Stay in the bathroom. Just stay. Wear a long-sleeved shirt for warmth and nothing else. Listen to a book, watch a movie, whatever. Just do it in the bathroom. There was no time to get from a chair to the toilet without leaking. I had chills, was cold, and took a hot shower twice. After about 5 hours, I slept near the bathroom and did okay. At 7 am, I did it again to prepare for my 1:30 procedure. This time it was even tougher to get the mixture down. I couldn't drink the full 32 ounces of water because I was in the bathroom for the next three hours. I am really looking forward to anesthesia."

For Bowel Preparation "I took the Suprep kit, this stuff is horrible. I started the first bottle prep at 4:00 this afternoon. With no problem drinking (2) 16 oz. bottles of water alone with the 1st bottle. Within 20 minutes, I was headed for the bathroom. The second bottle was at 3:00 p.m. Tried my best to keep this stuff down on my stomach, but could not. I threw up the second bottle. It still sent me to the bathroom many times. The procedure is scheduled for 8:45 this morning. However, because I threw up the second bottle, I am not sure if they can still do the test. Waiting to hear back this morning."

For Bowel Preparation "I did not have the terrible experience others have described. I started by eating light the day before with a high-fiber cereal for breakfast and again for dinner. I took a Colace before bed, and with these pre-prep additions, I was already clearing out before I started the Suprep. I had my prep cold and then added filtered water. I used a thick milkshake straw and put it on the back of my tongue. I finished the drink in two gulps, followed by a lemon wedge. Five minutes later, the butt faucet turned on. No cramps, nausea, vomiting, or headache. I did put Desitin on my bottom to help keep the skin from getting raw. I also used soft baby butt wipes for sensitive skin for the same reason. Next dose in 4 hours, and I'm no longer worried about it."

For Bowel Preparation "This stuff is pure poison and has nearly killed me! Tastes horrible the first go-round, and you start vomiting on the second bottle. I only used half of the second bottle and diluted it with water but couldn't even finish that. Drank more water and had to sit on the toilet all night. Four days later, I'm still unable to eat anything and having diarrhea!! NEVER AGAIN! I will die first. Whoever created this stuff should be forced to drink a gallon of it and see how wonderful they feel. I've taken Golitely before. It was awful, but I felt MUCH better the next day. Four days of agony and I can still barely function. No colon cancer, but this stuff just may kill me anyway. I am a 67-year-old woman who is 5'5" and weighs 150. Dosage is too much for me."

For Bowel Preparation "This was the most terrible thing I've ever had to try and drink. It made me very nauseous. I violently vomited up the whole first bottle mixed with water after trying very hard to drink it. After that, every time I would try and take a swallow, I would throw up. Luckily, the on-call MD gave me an anti-emetic for nausea and another prep called Prepopik. It was the best and tasted like Tang. Worked like a charm. I will never ever try Suprep again. It tasted like a horrible cough syrup. Just could not keep it down no matter how hard I tried."
