For Bowel Preparation "Torture!!! I don't know how some reviews are positive about this stuff. My first gulp got thrown up. I mixed it with ginger ale, but that didn't help. I don't know how I will even get through tomorrow morning's second dose. I dread it. I will NEVER use this stuff again. I may be a big baby/wimp, but Suprep is awful."

For Bowel Preparation "I was scared prior to taking this prep because I read so many bad reviews online. I completed my Suprep two days ago, and it was a breeze. No nausea, vomiting, or stomach pain. I think a lot of people get sick because they drink the prep/water too fast. I mixed my prep with Powerade White Cherry, and it wasn't bad at all. The taste is really sweet, but salty as well. Probably took around 40 minutes for me to drink the entire bottle, but I had my first bowel movement before finishing the bottle. I decided to sip on the 32 oz of water after finishing the Suprep, which took an additional 2 hours. I did everything really slowly, but I didn't get sick or nauseous. Get Destine!! I probably went to the bathroom 11 times. I was clean for colonoscopy!!"

For Bowel Preparation "I'm 40 and had my first colonoscopy due to family history of colon cancer (recommended 10 years prior to parent's diagnosis). Took first dose at 10:00 a.m., second at 10:00 p.m. (my procedure was at 7:30 a.m.). Was on a clear liquid diet the day before, which consisted of Jell-O, chicken broth, and popsicles: I chose not to drink fruit juice, as some reviews mentioned acidity making diarrhea painful. Suprep tastes absolutely horrendous... super salty, super strong grape Kool-Aid: could/should have mixed with Crystal Light or Ginger Ale. Got first dose down, but only half of second as I was gagging... Doctor had to irrigate some, but everything looked great and no polyps! Recommend lighter diet 3 days before for easier prep. Procedure was super easy!"

For Bowel Preparation "This is my second colonoscopy. The first one was 2 years ago, it wasn't Suprep - it was horrible that I was not totally cleaned out. This time I had Suprep. Not bad because I read the reviews first before going into it. I am 56, 4'10. The very cold water helped a lot - so did the lemon. I didn't drink the 16 oz at once. I did 4 oz every 15 minutes. That was easy - and it did its job. For the second dose, I started to gag, but luckily, I didn't throw up. When it became harder for me, I did 2 oz every 10 minutes. The last 4 oz I didn't drink because I was thoroughly cleaned out - poop (sorry!) looked like pee - yellowish. During the colonoscopy (1/15), the doc said I was very clean (yay!). She did find 2 flat polyps, and I will see her in 2 weeks."

For Bowel Preparation "If you have any GI issues, I strongly suggest not doing this prep. Embalming fluid couldn’t taste as bad. Premedicated with Zofran (to stop vomiting and nausea) and couldn’t get through half of the first bottle. Severe vomiting and diarrhea within ten minutes. Spent the next 24 hours with chills and a horrendous headache, followed by IV fluids. Absolutely no reason for a prep to be this harsh. Will never do Suprep again."

For Bowel Preparation "Use anything BUT this! God be with anyone who tries to choke down this awful substance. It's disgusting. After you vomit it up, you'll be left wondering if you should reschedule the colonoscopy or roll the dice and force the physician to work with your less-than-pristine poop chute. WORD TO THE WISE!"

For Bowel Preparation "What's worse than having to take this stuff? Having to take the second dose! I got 3/4 of the second dose down before intense gagging. Never again! The taste is like disgusting grape cough medicine. After starving all day, the overfull feeling of this plus the extra water you have to drink in the hour is terrible."

For Bowel Preparation "My doctor had me take Suprep the day before the procedure. The first dose was at 7 a.m., and the next at 4 p.m. No food allowed, just clear liquids and Jell-O. The first dose and water I drank too fast and projectile vomited. Had enough in my system to have it work within ten minutes after. Took the second dose at 4 p.m. and worked within five minutes. Tastes awful, but much better than the gallon jugs of other medicine that used to be prescribed years ago. The second dose went a lot better, but if you have a sensitive stomach, drink this as slow as you are allowed."

For Bowel Preparation "Had my endo and colonoscopy at 7:30 am. Started taking the first dose at 7:30 pm the night before. It took an hour to work with a bit of cramping and nausea. It kept working for the next three hours. Took the second dose at 2 am. Almost vomited due to nausea and spent the next couple of hours in the restroom. The second dose works faster. The hardest part is taking so much water within the hour. For those who are worried about the actual procedure or sedation, don't be... the procedure is the easiest. Good luck to everyone."

For Bowel Preparation "My experience is the same except, after the initial dose, it took 4 hrs for anything to happen!! Didn't get to bed until after 1:30 AM. It was nonstop. Woke up at 4:15 and had two more BMs. Barely made it to the bathroom. Got the second dose down (it is such an awful taste, I stared at it for about 25 mins mustering up the courage!) This time the effects were immediate. The only issue is that after one hour, I vomited spontaneously, and as one can imagine, with the force of the projection, I was exploding at both ends. It was so humiliating. On top of that, with all the wiping, my bum is so sore I can barely sit now! My procedure is in 2 hours, and I am afraid to drive there. Not sure when the second dose effects will stop. Scared!"

For Bowel Preparation "Ok, I read all the reviews on here beforehand and was thinking everyone was being dramatic, and it actually is tolerable taste-wise. I was very wrong. It’s absolutely awful. You’re supposed to drink it along with 32 oz of water within 2 hours, and I’ve been trying to finish it for over 2 hours now. I’ve tried lemon slices, Jolly Ranchers, mixed it with lemon Gatorade, chased it with ginger ale, Gatorade, a slushee, nothing is helping. I still have almost half left. There’s no way I’m going to be able to get the second round down, so I’m praying this one cleans me out completely. The taste is absolutely horrendous, though. It tastes like there are 3 cups of salt in old cherry cough medicine. I can’t swallow more than two gulps without gagging and having to drink something else."

For Bowel Preparation "36 y/o male and just had my first colonoscopy yesterday. Golytely sent me to the ER in June with serious dehydration, so this time SuPrep was my doctor's choice. I recommend light meals (low fiber) 3 days before the procedure; hydrate WELL on the day of prep (I had close to 256 fl. oz. of Gatorade, water, coconut water, apple juice, etc.) before the first dose (5:15 pm). Action began 20-25 minutes later; the cleansing was fast! No butt irritation/pain at all (impressive) and no bloating/cramping. Action stopped about 3 hours later, then felt really sick and vomited violently but felt MUCH better. Called my Dr., who told me to lie down, drink some fluids, and rest. Had to skip the second dose, slept well, and had a successful procedure. Hydrate well and good luck!"

For Bowel Preparation "I read all of the horrific reviews the night before my prep. I dreaded it all day. For sure, it tastes pretty dang bad, but it was a walk in the park compared to what I was expecting. Someone commented that they mixed it and divided it into 4 small glasses. I think that’s the ticket, as you can easily knock back a small glass in one to two gulps. Chase it with water quickly. Wait a few and repeat. I refrigerated it and added cold water. Yes, it made me feel like vomiting for a few moments after the 4th cup, but it’s mind over matter. You will survive. As for its intended purpose, it was quick, zero cramping. I started at 7 pm on the first dose and was in bed by 10. Back up at 5:30 am (I won’t lie-that 2nd round was much tougher to swallow that early in the morning), done by 7:15. It beats the stage 4 colon cancer my mom has. Compared to all she’s been through, y’all need to quit your moaning:)"

For Bowel Preparation "Taste was terrible. It took 45 mins to get down the first 16 oz dose (6 oz mixed with 10 oz water). About 5 mins after finishing, I began vomiting violently and ended up losing all the prep. Had to go out and get magnesium citrate, which was also bad in taste, but stayed down."

For Bowel Preparation "I got prep down within 15 minutes, then I drank 32 ounces of water over the next 30 minutes - they told me I had to get this all down within one hour - all of a sudden my stomach got bloated and started making noises, and then the nausea came full force with mouthwatering and fierce chills, and I ran to the bathroom and I vomited twice. I never expected this to happen because I never read the reviews until now. 45 minutes later, I had a little bit of diarrhea, then a regular bowel movement, then about an hour later watery diarrhea, then full force liquid. Woke up at 4 AM nervous and did the 5 AM dose, this time holding my nose as I took five swigs each time, followed by water swishing around my mouth to get the taste out. Prep works faster the second time."

For Bowel Preparation "I wish I could give this prep a rating of 0. I am 21 and have to go for a colonoscopy. I work in the medical field and did not think I would have a hard time with the prep. Not eating for the day didn't bother me at all, but after each sip of this prep, I gagged. I drank about 1/10 of the first cup (not exaggerating) and threw up 4 times already. I now have a slight fever of 99, I am shaking and have the worst migraine. I will be canceling my colonoscopy first thing in the morning, and unfortunately, I will have to either find a new prep or a new doctor. I would rather drink salt water off of a polluted beach than to ever drink this again. I wouldn't prescribe this prep to my worst enemy."

For Bowel Preparation "I tried the first dose, and after a few hours, I got terribly nauseated and could barely move. I took a sip of the second dose and started vomiting. I texted my doctor and canceled the colonoscopy. I had to call an ambulance because I was so sick. I was so dehydrated I needed 3 bags of saline to rehydrate and also anti-vertigo and anti-nausea meds. I got very sick from this Suprep. 10 years ago, I used a different prep. I was horrible, but I finished it, and my colonoscopy went fine. For me, I would avoid Suprep Bowel Prep."

For Bowel Preparation "Lawd! This stuff is ghastly! Barely got the 1st dose down with some minor gagging, but then the gas, cramps, and bloating started. After 30 minutes, it was working, so that was good because I vomited almost all of the 2nd dose. This is my 4th colonoscopy and by far the worst. I will find another prep next time."

For Bowel Preparation "I read a review that said this stuff was 'invented by Lucifer,' and it was the most accurate thing ever. This stuff is NASTY. Do not drink it with a straw. You need to chug as much of it as you can, and then suck on a lemon wedge. I wish I had read the reviews prior to choking down the first bottle, but the lemon was a lifesaver for the second bottle. Smells okay, tastes like a super salty/sweet grape drink on crack. Worst thing I've ever had to ingest. As far as the cleaning out process, this stuff is great. I had zero cramps or pain, but that may be because of my vegan diet prior to this procedure. No nausea (except while drinking this), and no vomiting. Bowels emptied, and it eventually was only the drink itself leaving my body."

For Bowel Preparation "The first dosage of Suprep went down okay at 4 PM. Not pleasant, but not horrific. I thought, what is everyone complaining about? This is a breeze. Then I got to the second dosage at 10 PM (per my doctor's orders) and gagged from the taste. Ultimately, I threw up and had to call the doctor on call. I just had to take an alternative product, magnesium citrate OTC."

For Bowel Preparation "I actually sent a comment to the company that makes Suprep to complain about the taste and how hard it is to get it all down. I admit the product works - if you can get it all down without vomiting. However, why not do something to make it easier to get down? Well, a rep from the manufacturer actually called me back the next day and had the nerve to tell me that people she spoke with actually LIKED the taste - seriously? That is NOT a taste found in nature that people would say they liked. My husband and I couldn't stop laughing! So, in other words, they don't care if you like it or not - you are a captive audience, so suck it up."

For Bowel Preparation "I'm 23 years old and was scheduled for a colonoscopy due to irregular bowel movements. Since I can't write my whole experience, let me just say it was awful. I managed to get about 2/3 of the first dose down while holding my nose, using a straw, and sucking on a lemon, and then taking a swig of juice. After that 2/3, my stomach could not take any more. I immediately started to vomit after each sip, like uncontrollably, to the point of where I had to stop the prep, and for the rest of the night, I was violently throwing up with an extreme headache, like having two migraines at the same time. I had to cancel my procedure as I couldn't keep anything else down after."

For Bowel Preparation "Had to use Suprep for a routine colonoscopy. My first dose was at 5:00 in the evening, and I was kind of freaked out because of the reviews of how awful this stuff tasted. Mixed it up and chugged it down. Yeah, the taste was bad, but I got through it. Biting a lemon slice helped. The hard part for me was drinking the additional 32 ounces of water in the next hour. That's a lot of liquid to put into a stomach. I spent a lot of time in the bathroom during the course of the evening. Then I repeated the whole process at 2:00 a.m. Fun times. The good news: It was very effective. No intestinal cramping. No vomiting."

For Bowel Preparation "Initially, some of these reviews scared me to tears. But I would like to share some tips that will help. I placed the Suprep on the lower shelf in the refrigerator the night before. Drinking it chilled helps to take the edge off. Follow directions as prescribed. I used a straw and alternated sipping water to clear my palate from the salty aftertaste. Smells sweet and tastes like a child's grape-flavored cold medicine and salt. I experienced no nausea or vomiting. Drink water as directed. Worked in an hour and repeatedly for at least 3 to 4 hours. Stay hydrated. No, it's not the best tasting liquid, but a few times, I licked on white peppermint candy, like Lifesavers, in between swallows, but you can only do that during the first prep. No candy the day of your procedure (no red, blue, or purple striped candy). It was harder to get the second dose down at 4 a.m., but much easier since it was chilled ahead of time. Colonoscopy was a breeze--didn't feel a thing. Hope this helps."
