For Bowel Preparation "Wow! This prep is so much better than Golytely prep from 8 yrs ago. 3 days prior to the procedure, started a low-residue diet - reduced amount eaten on day 2 prior - this significantly reduces output and discomfort. Only clear liquids the day prior (no light breakfast). Read Suprep reviews - poured prep out over 3 small ice cubes and used chilled water - chugged in 2 gulps (breathed through mouth between gulps - reduces taste) then immediately sucked on a sour piece of hard candy - minimizes aftertaste. Within 15 min, consumed 32 oz of room temp water - the faster this all goes in, the faster it comes out - less potty time. Same for early (3 am) prep. No nausea/vomiting, no cramping, no headache, only slight chill in the am. Absolutely best prep!"

For Bowel Preparation "This Suprep Bowel Prep stuff works! Dr. gave me an A+ and said it was an excellent prep. I followed the instructions EXACTLY. 2 days before: low-residue diet - pasta, rice, basically all white food. Day before: all liquid diet - no food, but I did chew a jellybean after every gulp of the (disgusting) prep solution. Ask your doctor for Zofran (which stops nausea). I took it one hour before I drank the solution, and I wasn't nauseous at all. Drank the recommended water, spent the entire night in the bathroom. This stuff is no joke - 11 hours start to finish. No sleep, but it was worth it to only have to do this once. The nurse told me 25% of patients cancel because they can't make it through the prep, and another 25% are cancelled by the Dr. because the prep wasn't done well. Didn't want to go, but glad I did. Doc found a polyp, but says that should be it for 5 years. Happy 50th to me - whew!"

For Bowel Preparation "I am an 18-year-old female, and this will be my first colonoscopy. It is not hard to trigger my gag reflex, so I was a little nervous to drink Suprep. I was instructed to drink it at 7 pm, and after some gagging and nausea, I finished at 7:40 pm. I mixed it with ginger ale and drank ginger ale chasers after each sip. The taste isn't as bad as I expected, but it does taste like cough syrup and was hard for me to get down and obviously took me a while. It works incredibly fast. I had a bowel movement at 7:35 pm, before I had even finished the prep. I was surprised at how quickly it cleans you out. I was having clear bowel movements after only an hour. Suprep did give me a bad headache, but it was tolerable. Bad taste, but effective."

For Bowel Preparation "I was instructed to take the doses at 2 pm and 7 pm on the day before my colonoscopy. I was able to drink the dose fairly quickly. This was followed by 32 additional ounces of water. Avoid breathing through your nose while drinking it because the salty black cherry flavor is not great. I had some bloating, nausea, and mild chills. It took about 2 hours for the medication to kick in. I stayed in the bathroom for a little over an hour, then the bowel movements slowed down. At 7 pm, it was time for the second dose. It was definitely harder to drink, and the last few sips were nauseating. This dose worked very quickly (15 min), and within a few hours, the bowel movements slowed down. By 10 pm, I was pretty much cleaned out. Keep drinking fluids!"

For Bowel Preparation "Seriously - as others have said, DO NOT WORRY about this exam. I get nauseated really easily and worried about the effect of this stuff. The worst part is the volume of fluid you have to drink and then psyching yourself up to do it a second time. No pain, only some full feeling nausea for about 20 minutes after drinking, but it passed quickly. Worked in about an hour and kept working for a few hours - stay on the toilet and minimize wiping. Use baby wipes as much as you need. Rinse, repeat. The test is a joke, this is by far the worst part, and I've had indigestion that was far worse than this."

For Bowel Preparation "My first dose went down OK in spite of the repulsive flavor. I have done other bowel preps before. The bowel cleaned out quickly, starting in 15 min. The next morning's dose caused extreme and violent vomiting after taking half the dose. I waited one hour and tried finishing the 2nd dose. Again, extreme and violent vomiting. Prior to colonoscopy, extreme nausea, headache, and faintness. After colonoscopy, extreme vomiting, dangerous low blood pressure in spite of having received 2 Zofran against nausea. Unable to eat until the following day also weakness and headache. Weakness continued until the following day. I am healthy, strong, 45 years old, a runner, and a lacto-ovo vegetarian. I was told to never use this prep again by the GI doctor."

For Bowel Preparation "Suprep is much better than the prep I used 6 years ago. At 6 pm, the first dose went down pretty easily. I chilled the prep in the fridge and added room temperature bottled water. Didn't want it too cold because I wanted to be able to chug it. The taste was not too bad. I drank 32 oz. water chaser within 2-3 minutes and felt pretty bloated, as expected after drinking a total of 48 oz. Within 30 minutes or so, I was 'taking the Browns to the Super Bowl.' Pretty steady for about 2 hours or so, then it tapers off. No nausea, no headache, however, I did have chills for about 1 hour. At 4 am, round two was harder to get down. Couldn't chug it like I did on the first round. It took probably 10 minutes, including the 32 oz. chaser. The second round kicks in quicker, 100% fluid. A colonoscopy is easy."

For Bowel Preparation "Unbelievably disgusting. I am no stranger to various preps. In the recent past, I have taken two 32 oz bottles of nasty yogurty stuff and horrible bottles of sludgy prune stuff. All disgusting. But this Suprep was unbelievably nasty. It took me an hour to get through each bottle. I had to sip it and drink water in between. Anything more, and I couldn't keep it down. I puked up the last 10% from each bottle, without a doubt. Believe me, I have tolerated some nasty stuff. But I could not believe this. I would rather be cut open (and I know what that feels like) than take this stuff again."

For Bowel Preparation "I’ve had 3 previous colonoscopies. I hated them because I had to drink water mixed with powder, making it 128 ounces....so much to drink....dreadful taste! This time it was Suprep. On the great advice of posters, I chilled the solution, mixed it with lemon Propel water, and used a straw positioned in the back of my throat. One large factor was that I’ve been on a low-fiber diet for 3 days leading up to this. Yeah, you get hungry, but I did this the previous times, and it makes the event with less solid motions....just watery...plus you lose weight. With a slice of lemon at the ready, I began sucking in long amounts....finished it in 20 seconds....never really tasted it.....but still grabbed a lemon. Began its job in about 30 min....Have the 2nd bottle to go, but the anxiety is now low having done this once. No cramps.....no chills....no nausea....I was full of fear....not anymore."

For Bowel Preparation "After reading all the negative reviews, I was fearful about using it for my 5 yr colonoscopy. I'm 6'1" / 195 with no bowel problems, just a family history of colon cancer. I didn't find the taste as bad as most described-- I'm neutral about it. Rather than slow torture with straws, I mixed it with ice cold water and chugged it down with the two 16 oz water chasers in 10 minutes. The intake was no problem at all. I waited 2-1/2 hours for it to work. This was followed by 3 bathroom sessions from 8:30 to 9:30. These too were not as extreme as described in many reviews. Faucet descriptions are accurate, but I didn't have any cramping or nausea. At 3 am, it took 15 minutes to get all the next dose down. The ice cold mix gave me the chills, which lasted for an hour. I laid waiting for it to work, 2 hours later, bathroom visits began and were similar to my evening prep. Best advice: don't believe everything you read. I had very different results than most, and I would highly recommend this drug."

For Bowel Preparation "I am 62, and this was my 6th colonoscopy. I have to say this was the best prep so far. I had this done at 7 this morning. I took the prep at 4 pm yesterday, and by 5, I was finished with the 1st round. No cramping, no nausea. I paid attention to not eating raw fruits, vegetables, and nuts 3 days prior. At 9 pm, I did the 2nd round. I was in bed by 11 and woke up once in the middle of the night one time. The taste isn't great, I found the cold water and a little lemon helped. It's a little pricey but worth it. Ask the Dr. for a coupon. By the way, I had nothing to eat all day yesterday, and I think that worked for the better."

For Bowel Preparation "This is the 3rd time I have had to take a prep for a colonoscopy/bowel surgery, but the 1st time with this prep. I have to say I prefer this one over the 1 I had before. It is much easier and less painful than drinking 8 oz every 15 minutes with the awful lemon flavor. With Suprep, after finishing the 16 oz with it and the 2 cups of water within an hour of starting, I had to go. Any time I try to leave the bathroom, I have to go right back. No pain or discomfort experienced other than being stuck on a toilet for hours. I was scared of experiencing the same unbelievable pain I have had with other preps. I'm relieved this experience is so much better. The taste isn't too bad although I did take meds for nausea before starting."

For Bowel Preparation "I was terrified to do the bowel prep after reading reviews about it because there were way more bad ones than good, but I'm here to tell you this prep is a piece of cake. This is coming from a 20 y/o, 130 pounds, and I hate water. I barely drink this much water in a week, and I was still okay. I took the first dose at 8 pm, and by 8:15 I was going to the bathroom. By 11 pm, I had close to 25 BMs, so it definitely does its job. After I drank the prep, the excessive hunger I had been feeling all day was gone! I wasn't nauseous whatsoever. I just woke up and took my second dose 20 minutes ago, and my colonoscopy is at 11! Great experience overall! I would definitely recommend it :)"

For Bowel Preparation "I read all sorts of horror stories, and I was terrified of this medicine and what to expect. 1) The taste didn't bother me whatsoever. I've had cough syrup that tasted so much worse. It tastes like salty cherries, and I had no problems drinking it. It was almost pleasant. I chilled it prior to drinking and drank it like a beverage (mixed with water). 2) I experienced no nausea, no headaches, no cramping, none of the horrible side effects I read about. Just a faucet butt about 15 minutes after I drank the dose that lasted intermittently for an hour. Really not that bad. The anxiety was so much worse, and really, there was nothing to stress about."

For Bowel Preparation "I did the Suprep last night. The dose with added water followed by 2 16-ounce bottles of water was tough to get down. The taste wasn't as bad as I expected, and using a straw really helped. But that was just too much liquid in a short period of time. I was so nauseous I had to lie down to keep from vomiting. I called my doctor to see if I could take anything for the nausea, and he suggested I spread out the second dose and water by starting an hour and a half earlier than planned and just drinking slowly. That worked really well for me. No nausea, but it did extend the toilet time a bit. I got very little sleep, but by the time I went to my appointment, I was confident that I was completely cleaned out, and the doctor confirmed that."

For Bowel Preparation "This is my second colonoscopy. I think this prep went much smoother than my previous one a few years ago. The product they gave me last time was a powder you mixed into a clear liquid. I liked that this prep was already a liquid, but the taste was awful. It tasted so salty, just the thought of it makes me nauseous. It works very fast. I took it around 2 pm, and at around 2:30 I was already running to the bathroom. At first, I spent a lot of time in the bathroom, but by the end of the evening I was pretty much done. I had to take my second dose around midnight. With this dose, I was up for about two hours running in and out of the bathroom. I think the dose was too large for me...I'm a 5 ft tall, 110 lb woman, and this prep hit me like a bus."

For Bowel Preparation "First dose went down OK. Second dose couldn't get it all down or would have thrown up what I already drank. Glad I had baby wipes. Actually, don't wipe, just dab. Hope I don't have to do this again for a long time. Had some time to think sitting on the commode..... There are satellites in outer space that can see a candy bar wrapper on the sidewalk in front of your house, you would think someone could come up with a better way to do this. Maybe the medical community should talk to NASA!"

For Bowel Preparation "I was pretty freaked out from all the reviews, but for me, it wasn't awful. I eat healthy and am regular before this, so I think that helped. The taste is not great, but I swallowed the 16 oz in two large gulps. It slightly reminded me of cough syrup with a bad aftertaste, but I did not vomit or have any issues. I drank the two glasses of water within a half an hour, and it started to work in an hour. It wasn't explosive for me, just like I had diarrhea, so it was doing its job. I obviously knew this, so I stayed home. I took it at 5 and was cleared out by 10 and went to bed with no issues. Got up and repeated and am about to go for a colonoscopy. So, to anyone who is taking it, for me, it wasn't bad, so don't assume it will be awful."

For Bowel Preparation "I just have to write this because what people told me seems to be right. People only come on these sites to complain. So I'm here to give a positive review. I just finished my first dose of Suprep and ran through the runs that go along with it. I did feel nausea about halfway through the dose, but it fades quickly once I started drinking slower. It kicked in in about an hour and lasted for about 2 hours. After the initial nausea passed, I had no issues whatsoever. It did its job. It didn't give me cramps or headaches. Also, the taste really isn't terrible. I'd compare it to salty Gatorade. Just don't take huge swigs of it, and you'll be fine. Overall, I'm not too nervous about my second dose. Not a terrible experience at all."

For Bowel Preparation "For what it does, this worked great. Mixed according to doc instructions (1 bottle, fill to 16 oz with water). Like others suggested, refrigerating it first seemed to help. USE A STRAW! I tried drinking it first, and it is pretty vile. With the straw, it went right down. I alternated a drink or two of Gatorade in between. Second dose was easier than first for me. Worked in 20 minutes or so, and did a perfect prep. No cramping, just a teeny tiny bit of nausea (probably from drinking so much liquid). The prep was nowhere near as bad as I thought - in fact, I thought it was a breeze. Just stay on the potty and have a lot of reading material. Get medicated wipes. Have a sweatshirt or something handy, as I got the chills in the am."

For Bowel Preparation "My husband and I had 2 very different experiences. He didn't chill anything, mixed it, drank it like chugging down a beer, then immediately did the 2 additional 16 oz room temp waters. Said it tasted like cough syrup, but it wasn't too bad. It hit 1 hr later, and an hr after that, he was done. His repeat was exactly the same. His only side effect was hunger. I chilled mine, pinched my nose, and drank it all down with a straw in about 15 mins. Took a spoonful of honey then let go of my nose. Didn't taste a thing! I had trouble getting all the water down in an hour, had to switch to Gatorade. I was bloated, a little nauseous, and almost had a headache. Mine also hit an hour later, but I went 18 times in 3 hrs. 2nd round similar but better."

For Bowel Preparation "Surprisingly easy, painless, and uneventful after 8 years of anxious procrastination. Drank the prep solution chilled, with a straw, didn't gag or get nauseous. Chased it with a quart of low-calorie Gatorade. 30 min later, felt mild urgency to go #2, waited until T+45 to actually go. After 5 quick bathroom visits in 3 hrs (most in the first hour), it was just clear liquid. Went to bed, got up early, and took the second bottle as instructed. This time, I was mildly nauseous. Both times, I got light chills and just wrapped myself in a blanket. The colonoscopy itself was a breeze - they put in an IV, I passed out mid-sentence, woke up 5 what felt like seconds later to the smiling face of the doctor and the news that they'd snipped out 3 tiny polyps."

For Bowel Preparation "Just returned from the GI center for my colonoscopy, which they canceled due to a “bad prep.” My first time using Suprep. I’m 67 and have been faithful with my colonoscopy check-ups for 40+ years (having lost my father to colon cancer at 48 years young). This prep was the worst. Followed the instructions exactly, the exception being I chose to have a liquid diet 4 days prior (chicken broth, jello, ++hydration) mixed with Berry Propel and 32 oz additional water and an anti-nausea pill an hour prior (each dose). 1st dose 6 pm, bloating and chills, but no movement. 2nd dose 2 am, worse. Finishing the dose was near impossible. During the second 16 oz, I threw up everything. Finished 16 oz water, still no movement and very bloated. Up all night with little results. 7 am appointment, I needed the restroom two times, still not clear, suggested an enema, however, the doctor canceled the procedure when he discovered that I threw up the second dose and still did not have a clear evacuation. Not a happy camper with Suprep."

For Bowel Preparation "I took the first dose of Suprep Bowel Prep at 6:00 PM the evening before for a bowel prep. I had a few moments of feeling nauseous, but they passed pretty quickly. I took it slow and drank it over the one-hour allowed time. I had read that it takes, on average, about one hour for Suprep to start working. It was about three hours before my first trip to the toilet. Then I went one more time before going to bed. The amount was not voluminous, and I went to bed wondering how well it was working. I got up at 4 AM for the second dose. Shortly after being out of bed, I visited the toilet, and this time a lot came out. I think the first dose had fully kicked in. I think the second dose worked much faster, and I probably used the toilet ten times between 4 AM and 9 AM when I needed to leave for my procedure. By the last time, the fluid coming out was mainly clear with a little yellowish tint. So the Suprep worked slower for me than average, but it definitely did the job."

For Bowel Preparation "The taste of this is awful but manageable for the first dose, which I took around 5 pm. As soon as I finished my first cup of water after drinking the mixture, I was on the toilet. I actually had to finish drinking my second cup of water on the toilet. I couldn’t leave the bathroom for about an hour and a half. Finally, the diarrhea slowed down and would give me a bit of a warning, but if I didn’t use the toilet IMMEDIATELY, it would’ve just come right out. I woke up at 5 am for my second dose, and it was much harder to get down. I got extremely nauseous and thought I was going to throw up and could only get one glass of water down before 7 instead of the two it says. I’m definitely completely cleared out, though. Make sure you have wipes on hand, even the soft toilet paper started to hurt after only an hour of diarrhea."
