For Bowel Preparation "I wish the taste of the sucralose was not so obvious. Couldn't wait to drink it and get to the water chaser. I started in the bathroom 1 1/2 hrs later for 4 hours. No problems sleeping at 11 pm till 6 am. Was extremely cold and had chills. Tripled my blankets and was still shivering. Taking my 2nd dose now at 6:30 am. I had to pay $70 for this prep."

For Bowel Preparation "I read a lot of reviews, and here's what worked for me - 3 days ahead, I ate a low-fiber diet, cut my calories in almost half, and drank lots of water. The day before, I had a slight hunger headache but managed okay on the liquid diet. I drank my first 'cocktail' at 6 pm, topping it off with a splash of ginger ale. I forgot the straw but put a bit of Anbesol on my tongue (which was icky tasting). I didn't find it horrible, just was aware that it's a different consistency than pure water. I brushed my teeth and took about 40 minutes to drink the 32 ounces of water. Things got going 50 minutes later, for about 2 hours. No cramping, gentle elimination, just chills from all the cold liquid, so I am sipping tea now. I start again at 3:30 am. Good luck!"

For Bowel Preparation "Prep is not all that difficult, although I am a little sore and did get chills for a while. But come on! I drank the prep at noon and at 6 pm with a straw and had it down both times in two minutes. Do not sip it. Get it over with. It has done a good job with getting the job done... much, much better than the high volume of liquid I had to drink last time."

For Bowel Preparation "I used chilled Suprep with berry-flavored Propel water, lemon, and ginger ale at 5 pm. I plugged my nose, chugged it down in about 2 minutes, aftertaste of grape. 32 oz of water in about 45 minutes. Started working in about 25 minutes/camped out on the toilet for 2 hours. Netflix, a blanket, socks, wipes, and Preparation H. Slight nausea for about 45 minutes, chills for about 1.5 hours. The 2nd dose was at midnight. Same chugging routine with berry Propel/lemon/ginger ale. Much harder to get down, left a quarter of it in the cup. Instant nausea/dizzy, which lasted until the procedure. Doc recommended NO 32 oz water after, helped with nausea, just sips of water. 2nd dose lasted 3 hours of going to the bathroom. 7 am colonoscopy and totally cleaned out."

For Bowel Preparation "Suprep was horrible! Nasty and expensive! 80 dollars. It made me so sick toward the end of the prep. Chills and freezing and shaking. This time my prep was decent using magnesium citrate, Dulcolax, and Miralax. Great price for the three items, no cramps! Hoping all goes well. Dr. has to remove a flat polyp!"

For Bowel Preparation "Wasn't that bad. It's my first time getting a colonoscopy at 20 years old, and I was both pleasantly surprised and horribly disappointed. The taste is bad but not terrible-definitely like salty grape or cherry cough syrup. I had a harder time getting down the water after the actual medicine because it made me so nauseous. I had really terrible shakes and chills, but it passed within the first hour, along with the cramping and the nausea. I would stay on the toilet if I were you and definitely keep wet wipes handy. After the initial symptoms, it was really easy to deal with, I would recommend it."

For Bowel Preparation "I had really tweaked my diet for the week by following colonoscopy guidelines that I found on the web in order to prepare for a 24-hour fast. I chugged the first six ounces pretty quickly, and the taste was fine for me. I then chugged 32 ounces of water in an hour. I was on the throne in 45 minutes, with most of the major ‘work’ being done by 7:30 (mostly yellowish, no visible solids). I did get the chills for a bit. It’s 9:10 now, and I am feeling like I can get some sleep. I think tweaking the diet helped."

For Bowel Preparation "Prepping for my first colonoscopy. Took the first dose at around 6 PM the night prior to the exam and am taking the second dose right now. I find the taste pretty terrible. I have bad gag reflexes, so it was a struggle for me to get all the way down. Medicine started doing its thing about 30 minutes after the first round, about 10 minutes after the second. Still am not going clear. Have experienced chills, but no nausea (yet)."

For Bowel Preparation "Excellent prep for me: 1) Taste was okay, 2) 16 ounces total (when the water is added - moderately cool) is easy to drink, 3) also easy to drink is the additional water requested within the hour, 4) no side effects for me (no cramps, no chills, no nausea). For me, scheduling the procedure in the afternoon works best - you do a prep at 5:00 pm the evening before, and by 11 pm you can sleep. Then, the next day you do the second prep around 9 pm. Very little disruption of schedule."

For Bowel Preparation "My routine colonoscopy is tomorrow. This is the most disgusting thing I have ever had to drink! I am tough-I've had chemotherapy and taken many difficult medications, but the taste of this prep made me gag with every gulp. It was effective in cleaning out the bowels, but I now feel weak, cold, nauseous, and flu-like since the first dose. Just finished the second dose and hope I never have to use this prep again."

For Bowel Preparation "I found the Suprep bowel prep tips on this site very helpful. I have a bad gag reflex, but for some reason, I found this prep not bad at all. The key is to make it very cold. I mixed it with lemonade and added ice. I got it down in about 30 min. The volume of water after was a little harder, but I managed that too. Dress warm for chills. I also got some sour hard lemon drop candies to use during the prep, and that was very helpful. I also made my appointment so I could do the prep the night before and the second at about 8 the next morning, so I did not have to get up in the night to use the prep. The doctor said I could start prep the night before between 5-9, so I started at 5 and was in bed at 9:30-next prep at 8 the next morning and appointment at 1. All in all, not the most fun I've ever had, but not bad either."

For Bowel Preparation "I saw a number of horror stories about Suprep, and while everyone reacts differently, I was one of the lucky ones. The taste is awful, but a straw and a lemon chaser really helped. I was also on Zofran to prevent nausea when taking it. I highly recommend Zofran or an anti-nausea drug while prepping to take the edge off. I would not recommend chugging the solution, take it at your own pace, but a fast one. The effects were not bad at all. I would have a heating pad or space heater nearby as it makes you cold. Also, stay by the toilet because you have very little warning before showtime, and be prepared for a fairly sleepless night if your appointment is early in the morning. While not an experience I hope to have again soon, it did the job (per my doc, excellently), and it was fairly painless. Best of luck!"

For Bowel Preparation "I have used Suprep for 3 colonoscopies over the course of 5 years. Each time, I followed instructions perfectly, including fasting the day before (and morning of) the procedure and drinking all of the vile liquid. The first time, it made me sick, bloated, nauseous, and chilled, but it worked. The second time, it made me just as sick and didn't clean things out as well, but worked well enough. The third time, the first dose caused severe pain and bloating and took SIX HOURS before I had a bowel movement. I was up all night, no sleep. I took the second dose early, worried about how long the first dose took. It barely worked at all. I ended up seriously dehydrated with high blood pressure in the surgery center. My colonoscopy was a failure because the prep was ineffective. I now have to go through prep all over again, this time with a different brand, which I now find out is considered to be more effective."

For Bowel Preparation "1st dose worked in 20 min. Intermittent trips to the bathroom for 2 hrs. No side effects to mention. 2nd dose same. Felt slight flushing and chills on dose 2, but think that’s due to lack of food. The best advice for making this as tolerable as possible is to follow the low fiber diet at least 3-5 days prior to prep and lighten up intake each day. The taste wasn’t pleasant, but I alternated between diluted prep as directed and sips of water. Then followed with 2 more waters. Another key is that you should hydrate as much as possible before, during, and after. Vaseline and wipes helped with discomfort, which was minimal. If they could make it tasteless, it would be perfect."

For Bowel Preparation "I had myself so worked up after reading all the comments. But it was all the tips that got me through. I did a pre-cleanse Friday-Sunday night. Four caps of Miralax in eight ounces of water and four Dulcolax each night. I did a very low-fiber diet since Saturday. Today was clear liquids. I have a bad gag reflex and puke easily. I took a Zofran at 4:15 and did my first prep at 5 pm. I made it ice cold and added a pack of Crystal Light lemonade. I divided it into four cups. I drank each with a straw, followed by sucking a sugar-dipped lemon wedge. I also had a green Jolly Rancher in my mouth. I had all four drank in about eight minutes, followed up by 32 ounces of water in about 50 minutes. It’s now 7 pm. I have been on and off the toilet. I have had no chills, no nausea, and no cramping. I think this has been so easy based on all of the different things I did. I know everyone has a different experience, but if you have to do this, follow all these tips and tricks, and hopefully, you will have a good experience too."

For Bowel Preparation "After reading the reviews here, I followed the advice of using lemon wedges and drinking a sip of water after each gulp of Suprep. I was unable to drink it all in one go, but it was good to know that keeping it in the refrigerator beforehand and icing up water for sipping definitely helped. Experienced chills, and overall, it was a nasty evening of preparation. Definitely helped to go on a liquid diet low in fiber in the days leading up to the procedure."

For Bowel Preparation "Just used this product for the first time. I read the reviews and was apprehensive about it. I was concerned as to whether I could finish this 2-step prep. Yes, it tastes horrible but manageable. I mixed ginger ale with water and the prep, and I drank it slowly. Each time I drank, I belched, which I’m glad, as it kept me from feeling super nauseous and got rid of the gas. I drank the recommended amount of water, and within 10 minutes, I did experience chills, but they went away after my first bowel movement. No cramping, and the bowel movements became water-like almost immediately. I was concerned about the morning prep, so I woke up early and managed to get it all down except for about a quarter of it. The cleansing is excellent, and on my exam, 2 small polyps were found. I’m glad I followed the directions. Also, it helped after each swallow, I drank a little water, which got rid of the aftertaste. Drink it slow, you can do it, and the results are well worth it."

For Bowel Preparation "Just had my colonoscopy today, and all was well. Prep day with Suprep was nowhere near as traumatic as I imagined it would be (I'm only 25, so this was my first time doing this). The taste wasn't bad-- I mixed each dose two hours in advance by pouring the medicine and topping it off with lemon Crystal Light and sticking it into the fridge. It made the taste pretty tolerable! The first dose was no problem. I did get the chills a bit, but nothing major. It started working within 20 mins of drinking. Didn't get me anywhere close to expelling clear liquid. The second dose made me slightly nauseated, but nothing terrible. After a few more rounds of action, I was clear and ready to go! All in all, not too bad!"

For Bowel Preparation "The stuff works, no question there. But the taste of it is absolutely horrendous, and I'm due to drink the second round in about 30 minutes and am full of dread. When I started the first one, I was immediately thinking that I'd have to call the doctor's office and say I couldn't do it. There is simply no excuse for something to taste like this. My upper lip was sweating, I was shivering, the taste was enough to make me gag, though likely not vomit. Other preps have worked just as well in the past but did not taste this bad."

For Bowel Preparation "First off, I want to genuinely thank all of the folks who gave tips, hints, and advice on ways to lessen the unpleasantness of this unenviable experience. Armed with such forewarning, I had my lemon (GREAT IDEA), a shoulder wrap, and baseball cap to combat chills and everything I'd need pre-stocked in the loo. Using a clothes peg on my nose and lemon at hand, I got Round 1 of the grape-flavored Dead Sea water down in 20 mins. The 32 oz water chaser was a challenge, but I got it all down in just over the hour stipulated. Round 2 was worse. Prep improvement still needs work, Research and Development. 'Til that happens, I'll NEVER do this again. >=/"

For Bowel Preparation "Had several colonoscopies, endured dreaded gallon GoLytely, NuLytly, MoviPrep, OTC Mag Sulfate/water mixtures. Pros: smaller amount of bad-tasting prep. That's it for pros! Cons: within a few minutes of starting to drink, got nasty chills; lips/face and progressing through the body, inside and out. Fingertips and lips turning bluish and my teeth chattering! I'm 48 years, 5' 10" and 135# active female with no fear of vomiting after going through chemo...but this was tough! Felt like sudden flu! Wicked nausea, nervousness, muscle aches, freezing cold, cramps, and if I sat up...barf! Took 2 hours to work after being on a 24-hour liquid diet. No sleep, just projectile water-shoot-poop for 8 hours. 2nd dose=water running out rear uncontrolled! Prefer old MoviPrep."

For Bowel Preparation "This is very unpleasant but effective, and the reviews were helpful. I took the first round chilled, but otherwise as directed. There was really no difference chilled or at room temperature. Started working in about an hour last night, and within minutes this morning, although I wouldn't have thought there was anything left! Both times my body went into shock with chills, shaking, weakness, and headache with the second dose. Very effective, but the hardest part was getting the drink down. Last night, I drank it way too fast. This morning, I took the advice of sucking on a lemon wedge between sips, and it went down much easier, but was harder getting the water down."
