For Underactive Thyroid "I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism about 25 years ago and have had great results with levothyroxine regulating my thyroid levels. Walmart also changed my prescription about 2 years ago. I have suffered all the symptoms that you all have been mentioning and blamed peri-menopause, menopause as I have turned 54 this year. Today I picked up my prescription at Walmart and lo and behold they gave me levothyroxin instead of euthyrox. That made me curious as to why they changed back and I found this site and am so very grateful that I did. I am anxious to start taking the levothyroxin again to see if my symptoms subside, and am most confident that most of them will. Thank you for sharing your experiences and hopefully euthyrox will come off the shelves."

For Hashimoto's disease "Euthyrox is terrible!! I felt horrible, sweated profusely, had the worse body odor even right out of the shower, started having vision problems! 5 weeks was all I took it for. This garbage should not be taken by anyone! I would give it a minus rating!"

For Underactive Thyroid "Walmart switched me to Euthyrox from generic Levothyroxine. I have been having real bad hives and swollen lip. Please be aware of these types of side effects caused by this drug. It took me about three weeks to realize that my hives was due to this Euthyrox. And all the while I was thinking that I had some sort of allergic reaction to food, or insect bite."

For Underactive Thyroid "I’m so thankful for this comment section. Walmart Pharmacy switched my Levothyroxine for Euthyrox. After a month and a half of taking it, I noticed I was feeling very poorly. Severe headache, thirst, muscle aches, extreme feeling of being cold and generally achy and fatigued. After thinking about what I was doing different, I did some research and realized it was likely the med change!! Switching back to the Levothyroxine that I have taken for the the last 20 years and hoping to be back to “normal” ASAP. Thanks everyone for sharing your stories. :)"

For Underactive Thyroid "I had a bad experience with Euthyrox. I had extreme anxiety, weight loss, and fatigue. I have changed to a different generic of levothyroxine and I feel much better. I would rate Euthyrox a 0 if I could."

For Underactive Thyroid "My Pharmacy went out of business, so I went to a pharmacy close to me. I had been on (Synthroid) Levothyroxine 88 mcg for years. This new Pharmacist had given me Euthyrox 88 mcg, and within a few hours, I started getting nervous. Shaking so bad I could not work, talk (voice became shaky), I could not think straight. My child had to pick me up from work and take me to the EMS building to get checked out. My B/P was 200/90 and had an irregular heartbeat."

For Underactive Thyroid "I was recently diagnosed with hypothyroidism, I was put on euthyrox. After one week of this medicine I started experiencing headaches, loose stools, muscle pain and tingling, extremely tried, dizziness and heart racing. I’ve now been off this medicine for 3 weeks, some of the side effects from this medicine has subsided. I hope when I see the endocrinologist next week they will be able to give me another medicine."

For Hypothyroidism, After Thyroid Removal "I was switched to Euthyrox (Walmart Pharmacy) because I guess their contract ended with a different generic and it was becoming increasingly difficult to get those ordered every month. So, I said screw it and obliged to Euthyrox. Just like my experience in the past to switching thyroids meds, I had every reason to believe this would make my thyroid to go completely bonkers and I had even prepared to get labs done frequently. And to my surprise, my labs have stayed normal and has even improved by a few decimals. Note to patients: get labs done frequently whenever switching thyroid medications. Better yet, try not to switch at all. But if you have to, get labs done as much as you can. I wish doctors and pharmacists made their patients aware that switching different brands and generics can cause some issues. Do your due diligence and you'll be fine. I'm actually glad to be taking Euthyrox, an actual brand-name drug for the price of a cheaper generic. The blister packaging is great."

For Underactive Thyroid "Walmart replaced my levothyroxine prescription with Euthyrox. When I went to my primary care physician for my annual wellness appointment, my TSH level had sky-rocketed from .21 to 16.25! I will not allow any pharmacy to substitute this drug for my levothyroxine prescription ever again."

For Underactive Thyroid "Wal-Mart switched my medicine to Euthyrox and told me the manufacturer changed because my current levothyroxine absorb moisture. Within week of talking Euthyrox I had a rash on legs. Two week a horrible rash on hands and feet. Body itch on trunk front and back continuously. Third week most of my hair has fallen out and I experience tiredness and pain in my hips. After taking Euthyrox 27 days I had Wal-Mart to switch me back to my old medication. Its been 6 weeks since I’ve switched. The tiredness and hip pain are gone. The rash on leg is mostly gone. The horrible hand and feet condition remain. Primary doctor gave me cream for eczema. Dermatologist has given me two different creams for eczema or psoriasis. Hands were dry, scaly very red and flaky. Hands itch and hurt at the same time. Appear like burnt hands. Feet are very hard and dry patches. I am praying for some answers. How long will this problem last before it clears up? Has anyone else had this rash?"

For Hashimoto's disease "I had been on Levothyroxine for nearly 10 years when Walmart decided another cheaper drug was better (Euthrox). I noticed issues within a week but didn't realize it was the change. I saw my PCP and told I felt "off" and could she check my levels. Omg- yes the new brand changed everything. She adjusted my meds and then the fun began. I started having breathing issues so badly I ended up in the ER. Of course drs couldn't find a darn thing wrong except hiatal hernia so they blamed it on that. Soon after that surgery I still had breathing issues!! Finally did research on this drug. 2 days of stopping it ( I know, I know!) Magically I could breathe easy again. Hmm. Dr is watching and monitoring my levels closely. I'll update after I've been on the new Synthroid med as no pharmacy can seem to get the drug I had been on."

For Hypothyroidism, After Thyroid Removal "This stuff is awful. Had thyroid removed November 17th, 2022. It took a while to get my levels normal. When they finally were normal I felt terrible. Chest pains, anxiety, go from cold to burning up, insomnia, loss of focus and so much more. Through the grace of God I found this website. Dr immediately change my medication when I showed him what I found. It is really bad and makes you feel out of control because you can't slow your heart down or do anything about the anxiety. I have been off of it for 3 days and I am praying the side effects go away soon. If you are having these problems take a deep breath and give yourself a break. Exercise was the only thing that would help, but the chest pain, fast heartbeat and anxiety would come right back. Tell the people around you so they can give you a break. It makes everything really hard and the smallest thing will frustrate you and then you fill worse. Try to remember it's the medicine and not you and it will get better."

For Underactive Thyroid "I have been on levothyroxine for 18 years. Walmart switched me to Euthyrox saying it was another generic for Synthroid. I started experiencing nausea, dizzyness and feeling hot within an hour of taking it. I went to my dr after 2 months of feeling this way and all was "ok". Then my child was diagnosed with hypothyroidism and Walmart filled his RX ad Euthyrox. After a week he started to refuse the medicine because if made him "nauseous." After he complained of that it clicked that it was the medicine. We both switched back to Levothyroxine and all of our symptoms stopped."

For Hypothyroidism, After Thyroid Removal "I do love the internet for this type of communication. Wal-Mart switched me back in late November 21 to Euthyrox. By late December I thought I was going to need my prostate removed. Body aches, joint aches, fatigue and brain fog to boot. Do not let happen to you. Back on levothyroxine and after 2 days, everything improved."

For Underactive Thyroid "Walmart changed my levothyroxine to euthyrox I questioned the pharmacist because I had never taken one in a blister pack she said it was the exact same thing that they had taken the dye out of the pills and repackaged. I started taking them I got severely ill, lightheaded, fatigue, headache, heart palpitations, cold sweats, chest pain and dizziness. I went to doctor he said tested positive for the flu still did not think about it being meds so I wound up at the ER with chest burning, dizzy, body shaking, uncontrollably they said all my test looked ok. Then he ask if I had started any new meds I told him I started Euthyrox about 16 days ago he told me to go back to my old pharmacy not Walmart and get them to fill a new prescription with the levothyroxine that I was suppose to be taking! I have been back on my regular meds for 2 days still have a ways to go to get back to normal. People please do not take this drug I can’t believe Walmart is still dispensing this drug"

For Hypothyroidism, After Thyroid Removal "Within just a few days of taking this brand of medicine I broke out in head to toe hives, rapid heart rate and trouble breathing. I’ve been on the generic for levothyroxine from Walgreens and Krogers for years with no issue. Had to get a steroid injection from dr and she immediately called in a new prescription to Walgreens for levothyroxine. I’ve filed with the FDA and will be talking to Walmart tomorrow, who is who switched me to this horrible medication. After reading these reviews I know I’m not crazy for how bad this medicine made me feel."

For TSH Suppression "I started taking Euthyrox not long after it came out in 2019. Its working as advertised and is packaged differently which I like. The pharmacist told me that levothyroxine can be impacted by where we store it, like my bathroom. This type of packaging apparently helps protect. My numbers have improved and I like the packaging."

For Hypothyroidism, After Thyroid Removal "Hello, I have been switched to Euthyrox and have been taking for 8 days. the pharmacist said it's the same thing but different packaging. Day 4 started to feel lightheaded , nauseated, terrible muscle aches and feeling extremely tired. Very hard to concentrate, so I had to go to the ER , they said nothing wrong levels were fine today. Maybe I was getting a virus. now that I am reading these posts , I am convinced it IS this new medicine. I was on levothyroxine for 10 years and no problem. a few days of this and felling like rubbish! emailed my doctor to let them know and got a hold of the office and they show that the only one he prescribed was levo. not Euthyrox.I am contacting Walmart and my doctor again to get a my levothyroxine back. If you stop taking Euthyrox how long before side effects go away? ER brushed off without even checking into. I told them about it, but labs were normal today. If I kept taking, I wonder if my labs would have come out worse."

For Underactive Thyroid "I have taken levothyroxine for years. Then walmart switched to Euthroyx, after taking it for 2 months my TSH levels went crazy, it was like I wasn't even taking any drug at all. Completely ineffective. Switched back to levothyroxine and TSH levels are back where they should be. Walmart says others have had the same effects. Stay away from euthroyx."
