For Hypothyroidism, After Thyroid Removal "I have used Levothyroxine for 30 years. I was first on Synthroid, but had to switch due to cost. Then I was on generic levothyroxine 125 mcg. Five years ago I was lowered to 100 mcg, everything was still fine. Three months ago Walmart filled my prescription with Euthyrox. I have taken this for 2 1/2 months. I feel horrible, I already have heart issues, R.A. Now I have no energy, my hair is falling out, I am gaining weight, all the stuff I used to have. Also, my blood work shows my thyroid is low. How could Walmart just up and give me this crap drug? Doctors need to make a stand for the patients. If they don’t give me what I had, I’m done with Walmart."

For Underactive Thyroid "I have been on thyroid medications (synthroid and levothyroxin) for quite a few years with no problems and good results/bloodwork. Several months ago Walmart pharmacy placed me on euthyrox and it has been a downward spiral since that time. I began experiencing many symptoms that only continued to worsen over time. Muscle aches, fatigue, brain fog, headaches, dizziness, dry mouth, weakness. It was relatively easy to tell myself I was depressed, I was working too hard, it was age related (I am 74), and on and on. Finally I went back to when my symptoms began and knew the only change in that period of time was my medication. Then I checked out patient reviews of Euthyrox and knew I was not alone so why is this medication still being prescribed? I called my pharmacy to put me back on my levothyroxin and never substitute that medication with any other drug again. My following lab level also showed a decrease in my level. Why is it still out there???"

For Underactive Thyroid "Walmart switched me from Levo to Euthyrox. I trusted that the medications were the same.....THEY ARE NOT!! I've been suffering for almost a year on this Euthyrox garbage. I've been sick, hair falling out, joint pains, migraines, diarrhea, fatigue, depression, heart palpitations, etc. TSH skyrocketed. I just got my new script and noticed it was Levo again.....after 5 days on it, I feel like a new person! Euthyrox is garbage! And I didn't connect the dots at all. I will NEVER take this AGAIN! I've been suffering for a year! Take this OFF THE MARKET!!!"

For Underactive Thyroid "Euthyrox this is an awful medicine. Firstly I live in Europe, but in a country that is not in the Eu but in Southeast Balkans. Whatever I was diagnosed with Hashimotos thyroiditis in 2019 and was put on thyroid replacement drug 25 mcg of levothyroxine, which in my country N.Macedonia you can only find under the brand Euthyrox by an American-German company Merck. From the very first day I had horrible side effects like skipping heart beats, fainting, headaches, digestive problems, dizziness, sleepiness, blurry vision, brain fog, general mood swings. I tried several times to stop this medicine I felt great, but as the symptoms of Hashimoto's persisted the doctors advised I keep taking. I got used to feeling like this doctors raised my dosage with time from 25 mcg to 50 and then 75 mcg. Very often when I take this pill in the morning my libido, mood and zest for life go from great to almost zero. I really hope I can find a source of supply of some other brand of levothyroxine to switch to."

For Underactive Thyroid "I noticed I was having severe night sweats, muscle weakness, itchy hands but the worst was days long migraines and cramps around my menstrual cycle. It wasn't until I realized that there may be issue with my thyroid med as it all started 2 1/2 months ago, right at the time of my last refill. I noticed it came in a box and pharmacy said it was the same thing. Went for my last test 3 weeks ago and my TSH levels were severely elevated. Dr. Thought I wasn't taking my medication. I told her I take like clock work every morning at 5am so not to interfere with coffee or food. So she increased my dose. So glad I put 2 and 2 together. Walmart shouldn't do things like that with such a serious issue. This isn't the first time I've noticed an extreme difference as I was having major headaches when they switched from Mylan. Can't believe they are still selling this if it almost acts like a placebo instead of actual medication."

For Underactive Thyroid "I’m so glad to know I’m not the only one! I’ve been on Unithroid for 2 years for Hypothyroidism with no issues! Went to Walmart Pharmacy & was given Euthyrox. I have been taking it for 4 days and I’m nauseous, no appetite, my body hurts, headache, & insomnia! What the heck! I called my Doctor this morning & he contacted the Pharmacy to tell them to refill my Unithroid! I haven’t felt this sick in years."

For Hypothyroidism, After Thyroid Removal "I have taken levothyroxine for 38 years with no issues. Lately I have been having severe anxiety, body aches and my hair was falling out. All of these things could be from other issues and I didn't connect the dots. I was refilling my med pack, and a light went off. The last time I had my prescription refilled, Walmart filled it with Euthyrox. I went on line and started reading the reviews and side effects. I have experienced nearly all of them! I have been testing for food, detergent allergies as I have had lip and mouth swelling, hives, itching. I called my old pharmacy and am going to pick up my old med. Do not use this! I am just hoping that things will get back to normal."

For Underactive Thyroid "I am certain that this medicine is harmful. I started taking it ten days ago. My doctor prescribed a lower dose of 112mg instead of the 125mg I have been taking. This is the tenth day of taking it and I feel bad. I have been fatigued, sleeping ten hours, dull headaches, stomach pain. For the past four days it feels as if I am sleep walking through the day. I just called Walmart and asked them to replace it with Levothyroxine. They should stop selling this Euthyrox!!"

For Underactive Thyroid "After taking Levothyroxin from Alvogen for 15 years and Synthroid prior to that, all with perfectly normal thyroid levels, Walmart switched my prescription to Euthyrox in late June. After a short time, I began to feel as I did when first diagnosed with hypothyroidism many years prior. Rapid/irregular heartbeat, hair loss, insomnia, extreme fatigue, and new side effects such as difficulty swallowing, under-eye swelling, tightness in the chest, and nervousness/irritability. I called my doctor when Walmart again tried to give me a refill of Euthyrox. The doctor called in my original meds and the cost went from $9 for 90 days of the levothyroxin to $288 now!!! I'm changing to a new pharmacy. I'm going back to 75 mcg of the Alvogen Levothyroxin!"

For Underactive Thyroid "I have been Hypothyroid for ten years my medication currently is 125 mg Levothyroxine and 25 mcg cytomel. I moved recently to Barbados and was prescribed the eutirox I had a personality change on them, I became sensitive to sound and highly irritated, aggressive and my appetite increased and energy levels decreased. I know my symptoms very well and monitor any changes. My abdomen became swollen with fluid and painful, my face and eye puffy. I was relieved to find this site."

For Underactive Thyroid "I too got this from Walmart. Just Awful. Took it for two weeks and began feeling so dizzy I would have to sit down. Tightness in my chest, then had terrible heart palpitations . The fatigue and dizziness got so bad all I could do was sit on the couch. This is a clear case of the cure being way worse than the disease. Take this stuff off the market."

For Underactive Thyroid "Walmart switched my meds without even asking. My levels before were always in range, TSH had never been above 4.56 in 15 years. I was on Euthyrox for only 6 weeks before I went for labs and found out my TSH level skyrocketed to 13! I was having anxiety attacks and just not feeling myself. It was as if I had stopped taking my medication! This company should be sued for all the pain and suffering!!!"

For Hashimoto's disease "Do not take it! I was switched from Levo when I moved states. I was miserable for the 2 months I was taking it Euthyrox I had extreme exhaustion, I would take the meds in the am and be back in bed for hours after. I would get exhausted doing laundry. More exhaustion than when I was pregnant. Extreme depression and my hair was falling out. Also the weight gain. I found this website and it made me not feel crazy but it was, in fact, the medication. My family doctor told me my numbers are in range that it couldn’t possibly be the medication causing all this and that I needed a “happy pill”. This is as I’m crying in his office begging for something different. He then agreed to put me on Synthroid. It was more expensive but it is what it is. He had told me my mono came back… Listen here, 2 days being on Synthroid and I got my life back! 2 weeks on and I was running around Disney not needing a nap! Do not take this crap!"

My experience after beginning this drug is as follows: insomnia, headaches, fatigue, blurred vision, heart palpitations, short of breath, leg cramps, weakness in legs. I am so angry!! Can't we trust our FDA to approve ONLY what is safe for us. LOOK AT THE LOW RATING!"

For Hashimoto's disease "DO NOT TAKE THIS MEDICATION CALLED EUTHYROX. It’s awful. Please read all the reviews left on here by the ton of people for they are accurate. My pharmacist at Rite Aid tried to tell me it’s the same thing. Well no it’s not. Be vocal and educate these people because they will try and sell you garbage if you let them. Be the voice, your health matters."

Walmart must have known about the problems because they switched me back to Levothyroxine without my knowledge."

For Hypothyroidism, After Thyroid Removal "I had the right side of my thyroid removed 3/10/20 and started on Euthyrox about one month later at 75 mcg from Walmart and the side effects stink. Since I have not been on this medicine side effects are terrible. They have switched me to 50 mcg and have more side effects. Going to switch to Walgreens to see if anything is better. Because I can't live with the pain I am in right now."

For Underactive Thyroid "I have been on Levothyroxine for 25 years with no issues or side effects. Was given Euthyrox at WalMart back in July 2021 instead of my usual Levothyroxine. When I questioned it I was told that they were exactly the same. After about 4 weeks on this medication I started to experience weakness and trembling in my arms, legs and shoulders, pain in my knees, legs, hips and shoulders, rapid heartbeat, nervousness, anxiety, restlessness, bloating, fuzzy feeling in my head and my feet and hands being cold all of the time. I found all of these reviews and stopped taking the Euthyrox the next day. I have been back on Levothyroxine for 2 weeks now and the side effects have subsided, but my arms and legs still feel strange and I still have pain. This medicine has made the last 2 months of my life living nightmare"

For Underactive Thyroid "This stuff is horrible, Walmart switched my med against my docs orders, he had it stated I was only to take a specific brand name. Walmart then refused when my doc reasserted I was only to take a specific brand because of side effects I've had with generics. Walmart still refused, so out of desperation, (at this point I'd been without my thyroid meds for nearly a month), I let them switch my prescription to Euthyrox. It has been awful, I feel exhausted & cold, with foggy brain & blurry vision as if I'm taking nothing. Yet I have the side effects of being overmedicated, high blood pressure, aches, irritability, anxiety, hart palpitations, this stuff is garbage! I'm pretty sure this must be yet another junk item Walmart imports. I'm now looking into switching pharmacies."
