For Hashimoto's disease "Walmart keeps switching my thyroid medication brand. They gave me this one and I googled it. It was recalled in Europe. It is a very dangerous drug. I have contacted my physician and refuse to use it. I do not need more problems. Your pharmacy should never change your thyroid prescription brand. Medications should only be changed for a medical reason, not financial purpose."

For Underactive Thyroid "Very similar to other reviews offered. I was switched by Walmart to Euthyrox from Levothyroxine back in June. I didn't question the change (I should have and researched). I've had three primary side effects which are sleeplessness, DAILY Headaches, AND Weight Gain (approximately 20lbs in 5 months). I actually was issued Levothyroxine today as my refill. I had asked to speak with the Pharmacist prior to noting the change back so apparently Walmart got the message. When I got home I decided to research and was somewhat relieved to read the other reviews. This is by far the worst medication I have ever taken."

For Underactive Thyroid "Euthyrox is a horrible medicine! I've been taking levothyroxine for a few years without any problems from Walmart pharmacy. The last time I had my prescription filled they gave me euthyrox and I noticed right away that it was new medicine and talked to the pharmacist about it. He told me they were running a short supply of the levothyroxine and euthyrox was the same as the levothyroxine. I came home with the new medication and gave it a try. Since starting the new medicine I have had hives, angiodema, anxiety now going on a month. I called Walmart and they immediately filled my levothyroxine and they told me the two medicines had the same ingredients but different inactive ingredients and that was probably why I was breaking out with hives/angiodema. I have been off of the euthyrox for almost a week and still having hives. They are some better but I'll be so glad when they are gone. I won't be trying new medicine again. I had rather not take any at all."

For Hypothyroidism, After Thyroid Removal "I am SO GLAD I came on here to look at reviews for this medication, Euthyrox. I have had horrible headaches, dry mouth, brain fog, dizziness, muscle pain, tinnitus, and neck aches. I went to see my ENT because I thought I thought I have something seriously wrong with me. He is scheduling me to have a CAT SCAN done. I'm going to tell my Endocrinologist about my issues with this medication. Getting off this one and see if my issues subside. I was on a different generic med but Wal-Mart switched me to this one. Shame on them!"

For Hashimoto's disease "Started this Euthyrox about a month ago after Walmart switched me to it. Since then I’m having daily headaches, sometimes migraines, more hair loss, and fatigue. Called Walmart and they switched me back to my previous manufacturer with no problem. This brand didn’t work for me."

For Underactive Thyroid "so I have been taking Levothyroxine for the last 14ish years. I get me script filled by Walmart and for some reason I started to get this brand. Since I been taking it I have had all the following side effects: irregular heartbeats, shortness of breath, nervousness. Actually went to the dr and she lowered my dose since my thyroid levels are now off. My dose was lowered from 125 to 112. I was using my older 112 from older script and started to feel better with in about a week. When I ran out started to take this brand at lower dose and with in 2 day I am back to the horrible side effects. I will not take this brand anymore...called the pharmacist and they are going to see if they can get my old brand back or I will switch to another pharmacy!! I will not take anymore of this medication."

For TSH Suppression "I took Euthyrox 50 mcg to treat thyroid dysfunction. Six months into the program I developed severe joint pain in my hands and feet. Physicians misdiagnosed my joint paint as Gout. The pain became severe in a very short period of time to the point that it paralyzed my ability to do daily chores. Holding a cup, walking, or turning the key inside the key hole was becoming a challenge. I have stopped the pill for about a month and over 90% of the symptoms are gone."

For Underactive Thyroid "This medication gave me alarming heart palpitations. I quit using it and went back to levothyroxine and it went away. Tried using Euthyrox again with the same side effects happening. Will NEVER again use Euthyrox. Worst medication I have ever took."

For Hypothyroidism, After Thyroid Removal "My pharmacy switched my prescription to Euthyrox from levothyroxine which I had been taking for 3 years with no problem. I figured it was maybe due to a supply shortage. The first day I took it, I thought something was terribly wrong with me. I had stomach cramps, heart palpitations, and a bad headache. The second day was worse. When I went to the bathroom, I felt like electricity was going up and down through my body. And another headache. This lasted all day. I decided not to take it the 3rd morning (of course it was the weekend). I called the pharmacy and they replaced it immediately with my previous medication."

For Hashimoto's disease "I have had Hashimoto's for 8 years. Tried Levoxyl, Synthroid, Armour thyroid, Finally went to generic since they all seemed about the same and the cost was far less. I felt great, very stable TSH etc. Walmart switched to Euthrox with my last refill and I feel absolutely horrible. Low energy, weight gain, complete brain fog and many many more. Since it was a new med, I alternated it every other day with my old generic and this. Felt ok, so I swithched to Euthrox daily and honestly feel as if I am taking NOTHING. Glad to hear it seems to be an almost universal complaint. I plan on visiting Walmart tomorrow to see if there is anything they can do about replacing this horrible medication."

For Hashimoto's disease "I was switched from my normal levothyroxine to Euthyrox recently because Walmart pharmacy switched me (without asking me). I was told the blister pack was a better option because it maintains the freshness of the medication which is supposed to make it work “better.” My TSH typically sits around .9-1.2 and now I’m at 3.69 as of last week. The only thing that has changed is my medication! I’ve felt terrible - very cold, lots of crushing headaches again, joint paint, fatigue...I’m afraid it’s from switching over to this med. I’m calling my endocrinologist to try and move my rx to a different pharmacy to see if I can get off the Euthyrox."

For Underactive Thyroid "I have been taking levothyroxine for several years and my TSH and T4 have remained within normal ranges with zero side effects. Recently wal-mart changed me to euthyrox and within a couple of days I started having chest pain, moody, sleepy, etc..... I went to my doctor and she put me back on levothyroxine after about 4 days I started to feel much better. Euthyrox does not work!!!"

For Hashimoto's disease "Walmart switched my prescription from levothyroxine to Euthyrox about 4 months ago. I noticed that I had been feeling off for a long time but chalked it up to 2020 blues. I started having terrible heart palpitations though and knew something was wrong. Went to GP and she put me on an anxiety med. I didn’t think to tell her that they switched the prescription because the pharmacist told me it was the same medication. The palpitations continued and they got so bad that my husband started looking up reviews for everything I take including vitamins and found out that this drug causes heart issues. I called my doc and got it switched back. The pharmacy tried to give me Euthyrox again and said that they have to special order the levothyroxin and it costs 5x as much as it used to. This sucks."

For Hashimoto's disease "I was on Levothyroxine for three years. Three months ago Walmart (without permission) changed my prescription to Euthyrox. At the time, I didn't think it would matter so I took it as I had my previous med. I started having leg and hip pain - then extreme brain fog - tingling and numb extremities - depression. I went to to the dr and was told my levels were w/in range. The dr stated he had not heard of Euthyrox. Nothing has changed in my life (other than COVID), but the med. I called Walmart and they told me they could no longer get Levothyroxine. The pharmacist explained that Euthyrox was much better in foil packs and would not lose its purpose as Levothroxine would once it was open. After reading other comments, I'm switching back and to another pharmacy"

For Underactive Thyroid "I was switched from my levothyroxine a few months ago. There was a doctors name associated with it that I have never seen or had heard of. I was given Euthyrox and I also fill my prescription at Walmart. For a while I have felt awful. More headaches, tired, achey, moods drops, thirsty and have to pee more. Probably because I drink so much water at work. I am always hot ,especially at work. I have been thinking it was because of the mask I have to wear at work. We are not allowed to use indoor fans either, so I get overheated, sweaty, thirsty and headaches. Its been a vicious circle of not feeling well."

For Underactive Thyroid "I was switched from my levothyroxine to Euthyrox a couple of months ago, and the cramping in my muscles was almost unbearable! At the same time I have gained 10 pounds and my thigh muscles felt like they were frozen or stiff, and didn't want to work. I was extremely tired and depressed from all the symptoms. The doctor ran blood tests and upped my dosage from 150 to 175 because it showed low - the only difference in what I was doing was the Euthyrox, and I had quite a time trying to get my doctor to prescribe another brand. The pharmacist said they had enough left of the prior brand to refill this month."

For Hypothyroidism, After Thyroid Removal "I just stumbled across this site because I am looking for the cause of extreme hair loss which started a few months ago. My hair started shedding heavily in the summer & just got worse. Comes out in strands. I thought it was just stress, but I started wondering if something I was taking caused it. Then I remembered a few months back WM pharmacy substituted my regular Levothyroxin with Euthrox. Had WM print my meds out for last 2 years. I was given 90 days of Euthrox early Aug. 2020. Now I'm wondering if some other symptoms, like high anxiety, were caused by the change. Will not accept it again."

For Underactive Thyroid "My Walmart pharmacy switched me to this from another generic levothyroxine that I had been on for years with no issues. I had itching by the second day after starting to use it. On the 4th day, within 90 minutes of taking the dose, I had itching on my head and upper back which progressed to my legs & feet and noticeable hives appeared shortly thereafter. Benadryl resolved the symptoms. I contacted the pharmacy and they filled a new Rx with the generic I was taking previously. Euthyrox will be added to my allergy list!"

For Underactive Thyroid "I started using Euthyrox I for the last three months now for my underactive thyroid. At first, I was afraid of taking it because of having side effects, but I didn't have any. I sleep better and feel better on the whole. My tiredness, shortness of breath, fast heart rate, and everything else I was feeling before I started taking this medication was gone. I am not at my full best because with my thyroid problem, I also have cancer in my throat. But I feel great. I plan to continue with it. I use just 50mg a day. I am scared to be without it. The reason for that is when it finished, I was a mess. I was tired, hyper-nervous, I had a high heart rate, shortness of breath, and couldn't sleep. I didn't feel like getting out of bed. But when I started it again, I felt great. No complaints on this medication at all."

For Hashimoto's disease "has not relieved any of my symptoms from hashimoto's. Recently I have been getting severe leg muscle, and joint pains. It was not until my son started jot down all of my symptoms that I thought were not related, he figured out that my medication was not doing its job. I originally was on synthroid and switched off because of the cost of it even with insurance and I was having regular side effects from the pills."

For Hashimoto's disease "I am so thankful I found this page. I literally thought something was seriously wrong. I have had the same exact experience as all the 1 star reviews. Unfortunately, I have been too ignorant of the change to put how I am feeling and the med switch together until now. I would give a negative number on effectiveness of this drug if I could. It was like taking a sugar pill."

I went straight back and talked to the doctor and sure enough it's a Walmart thing. Called another Pharmacy and change over to them. Don't take something you haven't taken always check it out. Walmart is trying to save a dollar."
