"Hot sweats were the thing most mentioned and most noticeable. My apologies for lack of empathy to all those who I've known going through them. Muscle mass loss and decreased exercise tolerance. My total weight lifted in a usual workout fell to about 1/3. Dry scaling skin and increased dry hair. However, my creeping male pattern baldness was certainly less noticeable. Testicular size and libido took a hit."

"From the urologist, Lupron is a hormone to shrink the prostate prior to the x-ray treatments for cancer. I have lived with BPH for several years, and it did not shrink the prostate in my opinion. Subsequently, I learned from the oncologist it was for lowering the PSA, and it did lower the PSA. The hormone was injected in the right and left gluteus muscles with the predicted soreness that passed with time. Three months prior to radiation, markers were placed in the prostate. After the markers were placed, a second round of injections was required. This round resulted in a mistake, and the injection in the left gluteus resulted in the sciatic nerve being punctured, which has resulted in severe pain and soreness continuing to date."

"Doctors just give it out like cough medicine. I have a form of muscular dystrophy. Lupron almost killed me, and the doctors did not know what to do. Eleven years later, I am still having side effects from the synthetic hormone. Doctors should realize that one size does not fit all."

"Given all the things that testosterone regulates in the male body, none of the side effects are unexpected. My blood work indicates that it’s working. The hot flashes, weight gain, fatigue, and mild vertigo (among other side effects) subsided in a few months, just in time for the next every-four-month injection."

"The worst effect (in combination with Zytega and prednisone) is numbness of the feet and ankles, and intense tingling of legs. Both effects make sleeping nearly impossible. Also, weakness, muscle and joint pain, and atrophy of testicles. I take two Zytega tablets and one prednisone tablet daily. My PSA is consistently less than 0.04, which I believe is the detection limit. I have been taking these meds for 9 months post-surgery and radiation."

"I have been on Lupron for 20 months now, and it reduced my PSA from .64 to undetectable. The side effects for me have been hot flashes a couple of times a day, loss of body hair, 20 pounds of weight gain, and complete loss of my sexual function and appetite. I will be going off Lupron when this shot wears off in a couple of months. I have been receiving the 6-month shot. I am 67 years old and have high-risk prostate cancer, have had my prostate removed, and went through 38 rounds of radiation. I feel I am doing as well as can be expected and do everything I like to do minus my libido. Good luck to all!"

"The 7 months of treatment I am on, along with 9 weeks of radiation, appears to be working well. My PSA (with stage 3 prostate cancer) went from 7+ to 0.05. That said, I am fighting brain fog, fatigue, slight weight gain, loss of sexual interest, nearly chronic dry cough, general itching, and joint and muscle pain. Looking forward to the product wearing off starting around 6 weeks from now. Strongly recommend resistance exercise, it helps a great deal!"

"I have been on Lupron for 16 (of scheduled 18 months) to help suppress the return of prostate cancer. So far, the cancer is resolved. The side effects for me have been tiredness, mild depression, leg weakness and mild leg pain, mental fog, weakened memory, diminished thought clarity, significant muscle reduction, and lack of energy. Also, occasional diarrhea. Use was probably effective as cancer has not returned."

"I was diagnosed with high-risk prostate cancer. I opted for complete removal of the prostate and follow-up treatment of ADT and radiation treatment. My first injection was June 2023, and the second was January 2024. PSA test every three months since the first injection, and PSA was 0.00. I experienced many of the normal side effects from the Lupron injections, the worst has been the fatigue, joint pain, sweats, and hot flashes. It has been almost a year since my last injection. I still have some lingering side effects, with the worst and most often the sweats and hot flashes."

"I have been on Lupron for two years. I got my last shot in December. It has kept my PSA under 0.03. Can't wait to see if it is still that low after 3 months! You learn to live with the side effects."

"While I do believe it has lengthened my life, the side effects are difficult to deal with. I am extremely sun-sensitive, also have a rash on my wrists that doesn't go away."
