For Insomnia "I’ve suffered from insomnia since I was a kid. Since then, I’ve tried 90% of sleep meds, antidepressants, anti-anxiety meds any doctor can list. I’ve been prescribed 5mg of Dayvigo and I’ve regained hope for sleep again. All these other reviews with 10mg may be because of too high of a dose. Cut pills in half if it’s too much. Takes me 10 minutes to get out of bed but a strong insomnia med is much needed for me. If I still can’t sleep, I troubleshoot if I ate too late, was on my phone, etc. and that’s usually the case. Highly recommend if you have severe insomnia."

For Insomnia "This medication changed my life for the better. I've tried and failed just about every sleep aid and supplement, including off-label ones: trazodone, zopiclone, zolpidem, doxepin, mirtazapine, clonazepam, diazepam, pregabalin, hydroxyzine, diphenhydramine, promethazine, neuroleptics, antidepressants, melatonin, valerian, passionflower, chamomile, magnesium, L-theanine, ashwagandha... The only medications which have helped me are nabilone, prazosin, cannabis, and now Dayvigo. I have primary chronic insomnia as well as insomnia related to PTSD. At its worst, I got 0-2 hours of sleep for 2 years. This is the first medication that lets me sleep like I did when I was a child. I thought it wouldn't work, but it really does. I can now taper off the 4 other meds I use for sleep. I'm in Canada where Dayvigo costs $45/month, so it's definitely worth it. I take 5mg. BE SURE to take it on an empty stomach, right when you go to bed. It doesn't work on a full stomach."

For Insomnia "Dayvigo paralyzed me and made me trip, and it was not fun. Dual orexin inhibitors are the worst solution for insomnia ever developed. Not only is this med ineffective, it's dangerous. I will stick to Halcion, etc., it's ostracized, but is way safer than this nightmare pill."

For Insomnia "This has been a great drug for me. I have tried other insomnia medications in the past and they all made me incredibly groggy the following morning, and/or I rapidly developed a tolerance. Not with this drug. However, in the beginning the effect was not too strong. I had very bad insomnia and irregular sleeping patterns, this drug would help me get to sleep well but then I would wake up just a few hours later. However, I kept taking it and over time it has helped fix my sleep schedule, and I can now fall asleep quickly and stay asleep 7-8 hours with no problem, when I was unable to fix my sleep like this without medication. I have no side effects from this medication. It doesn't hit me hard, it's gentle on 5 mg, and I feel great and well-rested when I wake up."

For Insomnia "I’ve been taking Zopiclone off and on for years as I struggle with falling and staying asleep. I was recently given a trial of Dayvigo, and while it’s not perfect, I definitely feel like I’ve had a more complete night's sleep since I’ve started. I still have a tendency to wake up a few times during the night, but have gone back to sleep quickly and easily. The downsides have been that I feel groggy for about the first hour or so upon waking up, and I have had vivid dreams (not nightmares). It’s fast-acting (feel ready for sleep in about 20-30 minutes). If I do wake up, getting back to sleep is no issue, I haven’t needed to get up if I do wake, and most importantly, I feel like I’ve had a more complete night's sleep in the morning. I’d recommend trying Dayvigo if other meds haven’t worked. It won’t be for everyone, but don’t let the negative reviews scare you."

For Insomnia "Dayvigo has been a godsend for my sleep. I had crippling insomnia and used Ambien, which literally started causing cognitive issues during the day. I was groggy and a zombie. Dayvigo works and has been safe for me to use every day if I need to, no grogginess in the morning and well-rested. Takes 20 minutes tops for me to fall asleep. I do get vivid dreams, but they are all pleasant and have even been informative and prophetic. I write my dreams down in a dream journal. I’ve been taking Dayvigo for two years with no negative side effects."

For Insomnia "The first few days this gave me sleep paralysis, where I would feel like I couldn't breathe, and I would just wake up in a panic after trying to fight the sleep paralysis. Then, after that, it stopped with the sleep paralysis problem, but it stopped making me tired and instead just made it really hard for me to fall and stay asleep. Sleeping pills work differently for everyone, though, so just because I had a bad experience doesn't mean it won't work wonders for someone else."

For Insomnia "Took 10 mg at bedtime. Took over 2 hours to fall asleep. Never went into good sleep. Felt like twilight. Somewhat aware of my surroundings all night long. Next day hungover for 8 hours, which caused increased anxiety from lack of sleep. Will never take this class of medication ever again. Had tried Belsomra 3 years before. Was never effective."

For Insomnia "I am a busy trial lawyer with severe, chronic primary insomnia. I took Ambien for 20 years, and it was terrific. Then it just stopped working. Completely. Next, my internist tried off-label uses of anti-depressants and anti-psychotics. I am neither depressed nor psychotic, and these drugs made me feel bizarre. More importantly, they didn't lead to sleep. And now, Dayvigo. A literal nightmare. The first time I took it, I was listening to the TV with my eyes closed, hoping for sleep. I did sleep-sort of. I thought ten minutes had passed, but it was two hours. I did not feel rested, I did not dream, I had a severe headache. And I couldn't go back to 'sleep.' I took it four more times and then gave up. Second night, it didn't work at all. Third and fourth nights, it was like I was awake, but time had passed, so I had a rough sort of sleep. Unrestful, headachy, awake-sleep, non-REM sleep. Fifth day, I took 20 mg., and it still didn't work. I gave up."

For Insomnia "Took it for the first time last night - 5 mg, on an empty stomach. Fell asleep almost immediately. I did wake up a couple of hours later to go to the bathroom but fell right back to sleep immediately. I was not groggy at all going to the bathroom and back. I finally had a good night’s sleep and felt rested in the morning. No side effects at all. Even if I woke up during the night, it was only for a few minutes and then right back to sleep."

For Insomnia "7 hours of natural sleep with no side effects. For those who have not lived with chronic insomnia for years, this will mean little. For those of us who have tried every sleep prescription and over-the-counter sleep aid with zero benefit, this is a life changer. I did have to fight with my health insurer for prior authorization, but I was lucky enough to have a doctor who was willing to spend the time to appeal the initial denial. I take it with 15 mg of mirtazapine and sleep like a baby. If I do awaken, it’s only to use the bathroom, and I am able to fall quickly back to sleep. Thank you, Esai! And thank you, Dr. K!"

For Insomnia "I am a 55-year-old man. I have suffered from insomnia for over 20 years. I have tried numerous prescribed and over-the-counter medications with no negative side effects. Dayvigo is terrible. One dose caused me sleep paralysis and night terrors. Save yourself. Flush this garbage down the toilet."

For Insomnia "HORRIFIC EXPERIENCE BEWARE!!! Do not take this medication at all costs, side effects are atrocious and frightening, this drug should be pulled off the market. I was prescribed this medication for my difficulty staying asleep. I have been taking Ambien for a few years. I took Dayvigo last night and I am still shaken and traumatized by the experience. The drug starts working pretty quickly, I had difficulty staying awake, I felt myself drifting but in a vertigo-style sensation and then straight into a vivid nightmare where I was underwater and could not breathe, all this within minutes. I struggled to wake up and come to my senses, panicked and shocked. I calmed down and slowly felt the same spinning sensation and entered into another nightmare, unable to breathe. I forced myself awake, had to turn on all the lights and open all the windows in the condo. I paced for hours to stay awake to avoid experiencing the feeling of dying. Struggled whether to call 911, paced nonstop until 4 AM."

For Insomnia "Dayvigo 10mg has been great for me. Z-drugs left me wiped out the next day, and my doctor did not want to play around with benzos. Dayvigo is getting me to sleep 1 to 2 hours earlier and improved my sleep score by 20 points per night. The only side effect that I have experienced is an ongoing headache, but I am hoping that it drops after another week or two."

For Insomnia "Please do not take this dangerous medication! I took one 5 mg pill a few hours ago and had horrendous nightmares and extremely frightening sleep paralysis for 3 hours. I almost suffocated when I turned my face halfway into the pillow and was unable to move due to sudden sleep paralysis. I have chronic insomnia, and the doctor gave me a sample pack of this med today, and I now am afraid to go back to sleep tonight in case this horrible med isn't out of my system yet, so doubt I'll get any sleep at all tonight after this wretched experience. I came across these reviews after I had taken it; had I found them beforehand, I'd never have tried it and hope no one else does either. I'm convinced the positive reviews were written by the manufacturer. I'm going back to the herbal supplements I've been taking and would rather just get 3 or 4 hours of sleep a night at this point than ever risk any sleep medication a doctor hands out in a free packet again, or prescribes for that matter."

For Insomnia "I've been taking Dayvigo for a month now. I have weird dreams, headaches, and anxiety. I take it with my trazodone 300 mg. I seem to sleep much better, but it's hard to wake up sometimes. Groggy. I do wake up to pee and go back to sleep pretty well. I do take medicine for anxiety, but lately after taking Dayvigo I feel more anxious. Not sure if I will keep taking it."

For Insomnia "I tried it for a week. The first night I took it around 9:30 pm with good sleep practices. I didn’t sleep at all that night. The next night I tried again and didn’t sleep at all. After that, I was tired and had really bad headaches and felt groggy and confused during the day. These were different from what I get after a regular bad sleep. Days 4, 5, and 6 I started getting very intense bad dreams, sleep paralysis, and my daytime depression got worse. The side effects actually started really affecting me, I’m so glad I’m off it now. Biggest dud I’ve ever tried."

For Insomnia "I take Dayvigo 10 mg each night for diagnosed chronic insomnia. My doctor prescribed it to me because it’s supposed to be the new top sleep drug. Well, it doesn’t work on me. At least not alone. Because it didn’t work on me, my doctor paired it with quetiapine, and I have to take them separately at two different times so that the quetiapine has time to activate before taking the Dayvigo. To say I have tried nearly everything would be correct, but with Dayvigo alone - it doesn’t work well with me. Signed, Chronic Insomniac"

For Insomnia "Works wonders and keeps me asleep without night terrors or night eating. Anxiety that leads to nights with no sleep, even with 2 mg Klonopin. I've run the gauntlet of Trazodone, Seroquel (off label), Lunesta, Vistaril, Clonidine, some off-label blood pressure meds, and this has been the most successful. Timing can be tricky as I never know what's going to trigger a night of zero sleep and the recommendation of an empty stomach, but I sleep through the night. I don't have deep, rapid sleep cycles that bring night terrors, nor am I dreaming of food in my house and sleep eating, or with one med I was throwing away silverware in my house. I also have ADHD, so I may be lucky in that I have something to kick my butt in gear in the morning other than caffeine, but I can actually sleep on nights when my anxiety is out of control."

For Insomnia "This 'sleeping aid' gave me sleep paralysis for 6 hours. I experienced extreme discomfort between the sensation of physically wanting to pass out uncontrollably and a superconscious mind that was NOT sleepy at all. Then, the horror began. I was stuck in lucid nightmares, only to 'wake up' in dream after dream, like a loop from the underworld that I could not get out of. The worst part was, I couldn't move. Despite my original intention of taking the sleep aid to get some decent rest, I feel the absolute worst that I have EVER been this morning. Take with CAUTION. I took one 5 mg oral tablet."

For Insomnia "I've been on and off Dayvigo (the 5 mg dose) for the last 4 months. On for up to a couple of weeks at a time, then off because I need a break from the side effects -- I'm cognitively impaired the next day... not sleepy, just can't concentrate at all, sometimes can't even read. I'm glad to have it on hand to take when needed, because Dayvigo does actually put me to sleep in 30 minutes to an hour BUT the sleep is quite fragmented, and I wake up a lot. Vivid dreams, but nothing problematic and no sleep paralysis. It definitely works best if you take it on an empty stomach. Not addictive like the benzos or Ambien, so worth trying if you're looking for an alternative to those (which I was). If you're coming off from a long time on one of those, you're not getting the true effects of Dayvigo on its own and might be experiencing Ambien withdrawal instead -- wait for it, Ambien (or whatever) to get out of your system before determining if this works. It still might not, but..."

"I have bipolar disorder, which comes along with insomnia, depression, and a whole lot of other fun things. I got diagnosed when I had a “manic” episode where I would not sleep for 2-3 days at a time. After I got out of the hospital, I won’t list all my medications, I was on a 750 mg dose of Seroquel. Of course, over time, this was lowered to the point where I was only taking a 25 mg pill chopped in half (12.5 mg) with a Zopiclone to help. But my doctor switched me to Dayvigo because, in the long run, Seroquel is not good for my heart. The first week was an adjustment, but once my body got used to it, I sleep very well. It takes effect pretty quickly, 30 minutes knocks me out. When I wake up, I don’t feel like I got hit by a bus, like with Seroquel and Zopiclone. Seroquel does a good job of knocking you out but doesn’t always keep you asleep, it's bad for your heart and very drowsy for the first 4 hours after waking up. Dayvigo works quickly, keeps me asleep, and I don’t feel drowsy with side effects the next day."

For Insomnia "I tried this new medication, Dayvigo, for chronic insomnia 10 mg. I had been taking 1 mg of Clonazepam every night for a year, and it just stopped working, I also took 10 mg of melatonin with it. My new doctor put me on Dayvigo, and since there is no generic, it's expensive at $50 for my co-pay. But I can tell you, for me, it's amazing. I've tried every other sleep medication out there, but none worked. Dayvigo is the best sleep medicine I've ever tried. No side effects, not drugged, just sleepy, which is what I've always wanted. I fell asleep in 30 minutes, even after eating a snack. I slept better than I have in years. The most amazing thing is I've got spinal stenosis, I'm on no pain meds, and the pain is bad while trying to sleep. Dayvigo seemed to get rid of all of my back pain, and when I woke up in the morning, I still had no pain. I've tried every pain pill out there, and none worked, but this is amazing! I just hope it all lasts! I hope that helps anyone in pain or wants to sleep soundly and fast!"

"I've been taking this for 2 months and am struck by its effectiveness. About 20 minutes after taking it, I just can't keep on reading. Usually, I now sleep about 6.5-7.5 hours per night. Such a relief. AND, it's not expensive. Both the 5 and 10 mg pills are about $1.50 (Canadian) per night. Next prescription, I'm going to ask for the 10 mg pills and just split them."
