Venofer (iron sucrose) "I just had my 3rd of 5 Venofer infusions today. That was 3 this week, and I'll have another two next week. After the 1st infusion, I felt really energetic all day, with no side effects. That feeling did not last, but I am already more energetic than I've been in months. After the 2nd infusion, still no side effects, but did not notice the same burst of energy. After this 3rd infusion today, I felt kind of lunk-headed (not a headache, but my head felt kind of heavy for a few hours until I napped). My doctor says my energy will continue to improve over the next few weeks. But I'm already impressed. I'm not out of breath anymore just from climbing the stairs or getting groceries. I stopped craving ice. I'm feeling less irritable with my family. Getting more of my daily chores done without getting a headache from exertion. Sleeping well. I just wish I had not waited so long to do this."

Venofer (iron sucrose) "I was injected with Venofer in January this year, a day after I delivered my baby. I was told nothing of this drug, so I didn’t want it. They insisted that I get it and since then even now still I have been experiencing terrible headaches, dizziness, muscle aches and joint pain, hives, edema, blurry vision, shortness of breath, excruciating pain around injection sight, and then some. I never experienced any of these symptoms before in my life and now my body is screwed up, I don’t know for how long. Hope it goes away soon."

"I was scheduled for 4 doses twice for two weeks. I was told that the infusion would take two hours. I get there and they told me 30 minutes for the infusion and watch me for 30 minutes. The next day my body ached all over very bad. I had another infusion scheduled. I informed the nurse how my body hurts. I feel stiff. She tells me to take Tylenol. So I get the 2nd infusion. That early afternoon my urine was dark. It scared me. I messaged the doctors office. Then later that evening I started having pain in my right foot. When I got off work both of my ankles were swollen. Now it's time for another infusion and I can barely walk. I told the nurse and the pharmacist I'm having side effects to this drug. I'm doing worse and it's only been a week! I can barely walk! I refused the third dose. Bad drug! I'm in pain now. I want to cry. I have to help warn somebody. Please Find another Option!"

Venofer (iron sucrose) "I had a 90 min infusion of venofer. I was sent home right after. Within 30 min my legs were on fire, hives, swelling, and I couldn’t walk. Had to go by ambulance to the ER. Got steroid, antihistamine, and fluid. Terrifying. On a side note, my hgb increased by 1"

Venofer (iron sucrose) "I just finished my last dose of Venofer. I had a total of 5 infusions at the hospital. I was fine after the first one, second and then after the third I felt dizzy and have been dizzy ever since. Almost like my equilibrium is off. Also have had horrible headaches too. My vision is a bit blurry at times too. I feel like it’s hard for me to have a drink of alcohol or wine too. I do believe it’s helped my energy level but also at times I feel my heart racing since starting the drug. I also have had trouble falling asleep. I hope these will all pass soon as I’m now finished with the drug. Nothing happened during the infusions it’s all been a long delayed side affects."

Venofer (iron sucrose) "I have a disorder which causes me to lose lots of blood. I was given VENOFER and I still have several side effects so why can’t someone be accountable for this. I was not told about any side effects. I have severe headache, I can’t eat without running to bathroom with diarrhea, I had hair loss, I have an awful cough, heart pains, blurred vision, worse bloody nose bleeds, so why can’t something be done."

Venofer (iron sucrose) "My daughter just finished her 5th 200mg dose of Venofer. She completed the 5 doses in 21 days. After the first two doses a slight headache. She drank water and laid down for an hour. The last 3 said she felt fine. We are just waiting now for the 4 weeks for new labs to be taken."

"Venofer iron iv injections were prescribed for me. I received my first dose on April 19 I seem to tolerate it well until that afternoon when I felt very dizzy and faint. I had swelling in my body and back pain. Over the next week I had body swelling and weight gain rapidly. I received my second infusion on April 25. I seem to tolerate it well however I had the same swelling and back pain and rapid weight gain. About three days after the second infusion I had horrible body aches and joint stiffness and pain along with sudden onset weakness and neuropathy in my hands and feet that is not gone away two weeks post infusion. I’ve seen multiple doctors and I’ve been to the ER I was normal one day and now I can barely write my name because of the loss of feeling in my hands . I’m currently laying on the bed with my joints so stiff and swollen I can barely walk and I am a person who normally can run 5 miles."

Venofer (iron sucrose) "This medication is terrible! An hour into the infusion I felt like I was going to pass out. Felt nauseous, flushed face, dizzy, and felt like I had a minute to tell the nurse I was about to pass out. They stopped the infusion. The infusion was 2 weeks ago, and my blood pressure has been around 85/65 ever since. I feel so exhausted and tired. The doctor's clinic is aware and clueless. I refused this med and because of the clinic's reaction, I lost trust in the practice. Please if you’re reading ask for a different infusion."

Venofer (iron sucrose) "9 am today was my first Venofer IV infusion. I was nervous but the staff was amazing. Almost immediately, I started getting itchy. My arm was covered in red blotches. The infusion stopped, and IV Benedryl was given. Almost immediately a sense of relief. Re-hooked up Venofer and had no reaction. I was continuing to drink fluids throughout treatment. Once in the car, I wasn't driving, I grabbed a granola bar and was asleep before I finished it. Got home, and slept on the couch. Woke up overheating and sweaty. I feel nauseous, restless, and hungry. This was 1 of 6 doses. will be one week apart."

Venofer (iron sucrose) "I’ve had 3 iron infusions of Venofer. First round I had it alongside a steroid. I had no reactions and no side effects. Infusion took a few hours with 30 mins of observation at the end. Not sure what rate it was infused at, but I know the speed really can make a lot of difference. Mine were definitely on the slow side. First one took close to 5 hrs in total. The second and third I didn’t need the steroid and I was out in under 3 hrs. I’m a couple weeks out of number 3, so 5 weeks from the first infusion, and my VO2max is steadily climbing. I feel pretty good overall. Not out of breath as I have been in the past. I can’t tell if my endurance / stamina is greatly improved as I’m on other meds that cause fatigue. But all in all the iron infusions were easy peasy. Only side effect I noted, and not sure if this is normal, but my urine went from clear (well hydrated) to a brown hue by mid infusion. This went away shortly, but thought it was interesting anyway."

"I was so sick after every infusion. After my 3rd one I I sick for 2 weeks, body aches, chest pain, eyes burned, dry eyes, twitching eyelids, dry lips, dry mouth, extreme thirst, stuffy nose, clogged ears that would constantly pop, sob, dizzy, light sensitivity and so much more. I didn't want a 4th dose because it made me feel so bad and I wish I listened to myself. After the 4th infusion I had even more side effects. I started getting heart palpitations, high heart rate extreme weakness, insomnia etc. It's been more than 2 months and I still have a high heart rate and palpitations, pressure around my eyes when I do a lot of stuff, shortness of breath just walking and I see floaters and light movements its weird to explain. I've been to so many Dr's and nothing was found to be wrong. I felt so good before these infusions. It's a battle to leave bed and feel like garage for hours and my heart acts up. I'm on the zio patch now because my heart rate was going from 80 to 150 just walking..... worst drug I've ever had to use.0"

Venofer (iron sucrose) "I underwent my first infusion this morning, which took 4.5 hours to complete. Upon leaving the infusion center, I noticed that my urine was very dark. After returning home, I started to feel cold, with chills and body aches. I took a nap and, after getting up, my temperature was 100.2°F. My second infusion is scheduled for two weeks from now, and I will evaluate the situation to determine if I should proceed with another infusion, depending on how quickly these symptoms pass."

Venofer (iron sucrose) "I’m a dialysis patient who is receiving venofer through injection in treatments. I experience a nausea, vomiting sensation as soon as one drop hits my system. It sends a signal to my smell sensors which makes me smell old pancake syrup and then begins to turn my stomach into a violent expulsion machine. If this is a side effect that could be harmful?I would like to know what to do."

Venofer (iron sucrose) "In January 2023 I had this iron injector and was told it was what I had in past, but it was not. Within three weeks I had constipation then chest pain, feeling a lump in my throat, shortness of breath, headache, and back pain that won't go away. Is anyone else having these issues?"

"I've had a few iron infusions with Venofer prior to taking Infed. With Infed, I had a horrible adverse reaction that took sometime for me to realize what was happening with my body. I experienced SEVERE muscle, joint, and nerve pain throughout my entire body. Was placed on an even worse medication (Methylpredisone) to help counter the reaction. The aftermath I can no longer take eral iron because of this medication. I keep having a bad reaction. I'm due or another Iron infusion and am extremely nervous because of what I experienced with Infed."

Venofer (iron sucrose) "Have had iron infusions in the past every 4 years since having a gastric bypass. I suspected Venofer was not what I was given in the past but was assured it was what I needed and did so reluctantly. Wish I had not! Was given Venofer for an hour and a half. I was not observed for any length of time. Hours later at home chills, sweating, pain in every joint. Back pain and throbbing in my kidneys that lasted a day and a half. A week later I'm still dizzy and have fallen 3 times! Still feel tired and weak. Labs next week to see if I need another infusion. It won't be this!"

Venofer (iron sucrose) "Worst experience every. I was fine during infusion. I had the reaction during the observation time. Hands swelled up, vomiting, pains in leg that I couldn't walk. I will never get that again."
