"Golimumab works very well for me. I have both Ankylosing Spondylitis and Crohn's Disease, which are both very challenging to treat with conventional medicines. With Golimumab I don't need to take any extra medicines to manage both pain and issues such as internal bleeding and the Ankylosing Spondylitis is not causing further damage. I have been using Golimumab for some years now, with no obvious side effects or issues. I have an allergic reaction to Humira, another biologic sometimes used so, really, Golimumab is my only option. Since I am Australian, the cost is covered by Australia's very generous Medicare program. I have read that the monthly cost in the USA is around $US 6,000. I pay $AUD 6.70 a month."

Simponi (golimumab) "Treating ankylosing spondylitis - took a long time to diagnose but once I was it explained the pain and stiffness, lethargy I experienced. I used to rest to reduce back pain, which was obviously the wrong thing for this condition. So, along with an increase in activity, I started Simponi Golimumab after suffering for about 7 years with the disease. I have now been on it for over 6 years or so and have had very little to no noticeable issues. However, the change in my sleep, stiffness, and pain is considerable. Even joints not typically associated with AS are improved pain-wise (I have a lot of sporting injuries). I sometimes get some stiffness creeping in at about the 4-week mark as I am due for the next injection (4 weekly). I also take glucosamine supplements for my knees which also improve soreness for me, and coupled with simponi my knees have never been so good. I have often found simponi to actually improve flu/fever/covid symptoms, contrary to instructions about infections."

"I am 30, have suffered AS for 6 years, diagnosed 6 months ago. In Australia this medication under the PBS costs $41/mth. At first the meds healed Psoriasis lesions I'd had for 10 yrs but they are coming back. Started on 4 weekly, just been moved to 3 weekly injections. I was needing a top up at the beginning of week 4. My inflammation markers were up to pre Simponi levels. The meds work well to prevent pain in the nights. I am so stiff by day & have a terrible pain in my left hip. When I am on my menstrual cycle my AS comes back for the first few days which is unbearable, reliving what this medicine generally delivers me from. For the 1st 3 months the medication did give me lightheadedness, all day, & balance issues at night. However that has subsided finally. Overall this medication has given me some quality of life back, but I can definitely feel my body seizing, the only relief is at night stopping the constant waking provided it isn't 'that time of the month.'"

Simponi (golimumab) "Using it for 3 months due to spondylitis and I haven't been feeling this good for a long time. My range of motion is much better and my neck and back pain is a lot better. A few things that I've noticed are that I had an infection that progressed very fast, but after antibiotics, it was cured. I'm also getting a lot of small scrapes on my skin on the hands and face."

Simponi (golimumab) "Simponi has helped my symptoms tremendously. I did not have to take methotrexate along with this. I am very happy to be almost pain free. But I do notice maybe psoriasis beginning on my scalp."

Simponi (golimumab) "Been on Simponi for over 10 years. It's been excellent. Had no side effects until now when I seem to have developed some eczema. It's been easy to take an injection pen once a month."
