Ajovy (fremanezumab) "I've done 5 months of Ajovy injections and I'm feeling horrible. This past month I have had an increase in migraines! My weight continues to go up and I have uncharacteristic daily bouts of crying. I cry every single day which is not at all normal for me. I'm dizzy and unsteady from another health condition however, this feels worse."

Ajovy (fremanezumab) "I used this drug for two months. The first month I had two migraine free weeks, but I had immense bloating, and constipation, triggering horrible acid reflux. Despite this, I carried on, thinking the pain was manageable. The next month the side effects hit way harder, making my acid reflux so bad that I couldn't speak for weeks. I do NOT recommend this drug for anyone who uses their voice frequently or suffers from acid reflux."

Ajovy (fremanezumab) "The most terrible medication I have ever had to take as it didn’t improve migraines, but also caused panic attacks, tiredness, increased heart rate, heart palpitations, my hands and legs started shaking. Neurologist suggested to stop using this drug."

Ajovy (fremanezumab) "So I’m two months into this medication and although it’s been great for my migraines, it’s caused me to feel very faint, increased vertigo and tingling in my face. I ended up in the ER and everything came out normal and this has been the only new medication so I’m going to stop it and see if I feel better. Needless to say, I’m so disappointed and sad."

Ajovy (fremanezumab) "I have a 20 year history of migraines, with them becoming daily/chronic for the last 9 years. They have not responded to any meds I’ve tried. So I decided to try Ajovy. I took the first dose on 6/1/21. Within one week I had excruciating migraines not responding to any rescue meds. They calmed down eventually and went back to my usual. I have had elevated BP, palpitations, increased anxiety and depression (which had been under control) and aches and pains in my feet now as a result of taking the Ajovy. Like everyone else, no one believes it’s due to the Ajovy. Needless to say, I’m done."

Ajovy (fremanezumab) "I’ve had four injections for Ajovy so far. I’m really unsure about this injection. It has definitely helped my migraines. But the side effects are horrible- bloating, rash at injection site, extreme fatigue, brain fog, pain in hand joints and palpitations. Ajovy nurse has told me to stop as I’m at risk of anaphylactic shock so it’s back to neurologist for me. Make sure you research this drug before taking it and consider pros and cons."

Ajovy (fremanezumab) "My neurologist started me on this medication. Migraines have stopped thanks to my other meds but I'm still getting the "auras" without headache. I took the sample injection yesterday without any issues. I took a shower this morning and instantly got hives all over. I didn't change anything else other than the new medication. This afternoon I had the worst migraine ever and lost vision for about 2 hours. It finally got better and I thought everything was over. Tonight I got out if the car and had a sudden onset of severe dizziness like vertigo. It has been going on for about an hour, which brought me to this site. It has to be side effects of this medication. I will never take it again!"

Ajovy (fremanezumab) "I have suffered from Migraines for over 20 years which have been kept under control with the highest dose of propranolol until I hit the dreaded menopause. Since then my life has been unbearable. I've been put on Amitriptyline's highest dose and the side effects are horrendous and didn't help migraines. Topiramate's highest dose didn't stop migraines either. Candesartan 20mg, helped a bit but still suffered from severe migraines. Now on Candesartan and the first injection of Ajovy. Worst combination. Migraines have increased in severity and frequency, I can't sleep, and electric shocks pains in my head and thunderclap pain is 0 to 10. Neck pain, jaw pain, heavy puffy eyes, pressure in the head, dizziness, low mood. The list goes on and on. I'm at my wit's end. My neurologist wants me to take a second dose however my GP does not agree. I don't want the 2nd dose, I can't work can't function, and am in constant pain. No empathy from a neurologist. Seems to think I'm just to get on with it."

Ajovy (fremanezumab) "I started with Emgality, but had severe injection site reaction so neuro switched me to Ajovy. Had a horrific migraine the next morning and all weekend. Have had double the migraines this month and they last longer and are not as receptive to Maxalt. Increased nausea and dizziness as well. I will not take this ever again."

Ajovy (fremanezumab) "Less than a week from the injection, my migraines were much more intense; increased nausea and vomiting and pain was off the chart! Also, the frequency has worse in that the migraines are more frequent, which I didn't think was possible. I have chronic migraines, at least 20-25 a month. This injection was not helpful but rather harmful."

Ajovy (fremanezumab) "I started taking Ajovy 6 months ago!! This drug had reduced my episodes of migraines by 40-50% and I’m happy with that however, However, I have experienced 7 lbs weight gain since I started, as well as chronic nausea, fatigue, vertigo and now I’m noticing that this medication is acting as a blood thinner. I cut my finger cutting some vegetables and I started bleeding a lot which is abnormal for me! I cleaned the cut and applied neosporin and a bandaid and sat down to watch a movie which lasted close to an hour and a half. As I went to the bathroom and washed my hands I took the bandaid of and immediately I started to bleed a lot again like if I just got cut. I’m pretty scared and concerned about the side effects of this drug works. I wonder about the long term effects in your overall health."

Ajovy (fremanezumab) "I resisted taking this because I thought I was handling my migraines ok. At my last 6 month visit with my neurologist she brought it up again because I had related that I “only” had 2 bad migraines since I had last seen her. I decided to give it a try and I was blown away! I just had my 4th shot today and I have not had one headache of any kind since my first shot! It’s been 15 years since I’ve been able to say that I have not had any headache of any kind..I’ve had sinus headaches, tension headaches and of course migraines. But in the past three months, nothing. I’m amazed and grateful! Going to start weaning off my preventatives after the new year."

Ajovy (fremanezumab) "I only have one dose left on my free coupon so I need to get my insurance to cover it but this drug has been a miracle. I suffered with chronic daily low level migraine which has been reduced by 70 percent. I usually don’t feel quite as weak as I have felt in the last week before my next dose . Zero side effects for me and I normally react horribly to most medications"

Ajovy (fremanezumab) "I had my first injection on May 1st. Within a few days had a terrible migraine. Started having flu like symptoms, dizziness and severe depression. Two weeks after injection I developed severe intolerable neck pain that I have never experienced before. I also had more migraines and will not be using Ajovy again. This drug did not help me at all. Glad it works for some people."

Ajovy (fremanezumab) "Ajovy did seem to help a little bit with my migraines, however the side effects are definitely not worth it. I have gained over 30 lbs in the 7 months I’ve been on it, despite working out more. I have not changed anything else. It also gives me a rash for about 2 weeks at the injection site. I could get past the rash, but the weight gain is unimaginable."

Ajovy (fremanezumab) "I’ve been on Ajovy for about a year now. The first 6 months were a breeze! Worked great, helps control my chronic migraine & had little to no side affects. Now I’m struggling a bit with weight but nothing super drastic, the most notably change is for the 48-72hrs post injection I have tenderness & often a slightly irritating rash at the injection spot. Creams and rotating the injection sight has helped and my neurologist wasn’t alarmed at the news or images of the slight rash. In the long haul all meds have their draw back. This med has been quite helpful and other then having to learn how to stab my self on a monthly basis the reduced migraine & migraine related struggles has been well worth the minor discomfort."

Ajovy (fremanezumab) "I have been on this medication for a year and I got my life back until this month. I had around 10-15 migraines a month and had tried everything else. My life improved immensely and I could ignore the constipation and weight gain. In month 3, I had severe nausea for 3 weeks and then went to half dose or 3/4 dose every 4-6 weeks. In May this year, I went back to full doses monthly. Last month I felt a bit off balance, like I was about to have vertigo but it never eventuated. I had 2 migraines (out of 16 since I started Ajovy) so had the full dose 28 days after the last one and dizziness and vertigo have been the worst I have ever had in my life. In the last 7 months I have also had increasingly bad localized reactions. This last injection, the reaction went from my elbow to my underarm and once it went down after 5 days, the severe dizziness kicked in. Emergency visit to the neurologist tomorrow. I want to keep this fantastic migraine-free(ish) life but this is not worth it."

Ajovy (fremanezumab) "It stings during injection, but that's it. For two to three days after, I felt on and off nausea all day. Nothing more. I will ask for something this time around. My migraines were either totally gone or reduced for nearly three weeks starting from the first day. My overall body pain also seemed somewhat reduced. The migraines did start to come back normally around week three. I'm due in a couple of days for my second injection. I was shocked. I terrified because have tried everything. Suffered from all the horrible side effects from trying new drugs and diagnostics for 20+ years. Nothing but pain meds helped me and we all know how it feels in this day and age to be someone who rely on pain meds. You will still need them, but I am grateful for any reduction."

Ajovy (fremanezumab) "Migraines for 6 years intensely, occasional ones before that. Tried everything except the injections. Had my 1st Ajovy beginning of August. No side effects and not a single migraine since. 2nd Ajovy had 48 hours of mild nausea, fatigue and took half a maxalt. 3rd Ajovy and I'm a mess. Severe nausea, vertigo, fatigue, severe anxiety. Never know when then nausea is going to hit me. I’ve got two new jobs that I’ve had to cancel days already because of the nausea. I’ve got severe constipation too. After thinking I could finally enjoy life again, do things I hadn’t done in years, I even booked an overseas holiday for 2023, I’m now shaking in my couch waiting for the next ondanstran to kick in. I’d rather have the migraines than this and it makes me panic even more that I have weeks of this left before it’s out of my system. I don’t feel like I have any hope left!"

Ajovy (fremanezumab) "I have been on Ajovy for over 6 months and it has helped significantly, however, I have just linked a lot of "issues" I have been dealing with as Ajovy side effects. Shortly after starting Ajovy, I started with severe itching on my scalp along with this "tightness" in my scalp which can only be described as tight bands across my scalp. I also have this feeling that my hair is tight to my scalp, as well as the texture of my hair has changed, too. Shortly after this began, I started losing my hair on the top of my head. I have also gained weight, developed chest tightness, and have been very anxious! I am disappointed that I did figure this out sooner, as these side effects have made me very depressed and self-conscious. Unfortunately, I just gave myself another injection, prior to figuring this out, but that will be my LAST shot! I hope with stopping this drug these side effects will dissipate and I will finally be able to grow my hair back and have a "normal" feeling on my scalp."

Ajovy (fremanezumab) "My doctor gave me a sample of Ajovy and three days later I started having severe pain in my joints and muscles. My feet felt as though I were walking on rocks and razors. I could not even wear shoes. I called my neurologist and he suggested that I take magnesium with no relief at all. I am now in my 4th week and still in extreme pain all over my body. Migraines are bad but at least I could get some relief. With this reaction I have had none. If anyone has any suggestions I would appreciate any help."

Ajovy (fremanezumab) "40 year old female. I've been suffering from chronic cluster headache for 20+ years. Just started getting migraines in the last 5 years. I take nortriptyline and lamictal for prophylactics, and maxalt and cambia for rescue meds. Seems everything has stopped working. Had my 1st shot of Ajovy 2 days ago. I'm SO EXHAUSTED AND SORE ALL OVER already. I don't know if I can do a 2nd dose. My 3 little boys destroyed my house 2 days in a row because I just...cant. Do these side effects get better? I haven't had a headache yet, but I guess I've gotten so used to them I can at least keep up with the boys. The fatigue is very worrisome."

Ajovy (fremanezumab) "I suffer from daily migraines. First two doses were rough. Fatigue and nausea for 3-4 days after injection. Fatigue and nausea not as acute with 3rd dose. Hang in there and have since had 3 more doses. Fatigue only lasts about a day and no more nausea. Now to the headaches: dose one and two very little improvement. Dose 3 some improvement. But after dose 4, huge improvement. I sometimes go three consecutive weeks without at a headache. It's been a miracle drug for me. I'm very happy I hung in there until the 4th and consecutive doses."

Ajovy (fremanezumab) "Ive been taking the monthly injection of Ajovy since 2019 and I have none of the side effects I see other people are experiencing. My headaches are down from 5 a week to 1 a month. My weight is stable, no brain fog, hives or constipation. Some people must react differently to others, it’s worth a try to see how you react. I was taking 20 to 30 x 20mg Nurofen a week, so I feel Ajovy is safer than that. I live in the UK and started taking when it was just released so have probably had more than most people. I tried a 3 month break last year and they gradually came back. I considering taking an injection every 2 months to reduce any possible long term risk."
