For Anxiety and Stress "I was prescribed Luvox for social anxiety. I was told to take it at night before bed. After the first night of taking it, I woke up feeling pretty sedated and feeling weird. I also had nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea. "

For Obsessive Compulsive Disorder "I once had a horrible experience in my life losing a friend but then I got over it but met another friend BUT my mind was making me think I would lose my new friend, like my old friend who stopped being my friend without telling me. Anyways I found out I had OCD & I started luvox. It did take a few extra weeks then expected but over the last month I've began to really not worry & have the compulsive consistent non stop worries! I've definitely came a long way. Especially that my friend assured me if he would stop being my friend he would let me know"

For Obsessive Compulsive Disorder "I was on Luvox for OCD, MDD, anxiety, and dermatillomania. Zoloft didn't work, so I tried Luvox. At first I felt a slight uplift in my mood, but then I started crying every day and became anorexic. I lost weight to the point where I began to look sickly. I've never had any eating disorder prior to my experience on Luvox. It felt like I relapsed and got worse symptoms from my OCD. I'm sure this drug helps others, but it just wasn't the right one for me."

For Obsessive Compulsive Disorder "I took luvox for one day. My OCD had been getting better because of ERP and I knew my OCD theme was just OCD. However, when I took luvox I literally felt like my OCD came to life & it was worse than ever. It dramatically worsened my OCD, I literally felt psychotic & I could barely sleep that night."

For Obsessive Compulsive Disorder "I have been on Luvox for 4 years now and it has medicine worked for me very well for OCD. I almost have no anxiety anymore. The downsides are that I have had loss of libido, constipated all the time and insomnia. I haven’t had any problems with weight gain like other antidepressants."

For Obsessive Compulsive Disorder "I know this medicine is supposed to be great but the internal tremors are driving me crazy. I've been on luvox for a week now and the tremors make my anxiety 10 times worse! I also have a raspy voice that comes and goes."

For Anxiety and Stress "My daughter started on Prozac in March and few days her anxiety went so high so admitted in the hospital and dr changed her diagnosis and gave her 4 different meds. She came home with more anxiety and panic and more side effects from meds. After 3 weeks she started taking Luvax from 7 weeks, her anxiety and panic went little under control. She has been on several SSRI and she gets severe side effects from all of them. She has MDD, GAD and panic disorder from last 7 years. She is so tired and exhausted from not getting good sleep, and not on ease at all! First dr who prescribed Prozac didn’t help her from her anxiety. Now we switched to other dr. And he wants her to stay on Luvax until esketamine starts. If any one has suggestions please let me know."

For Obsessive Compulsive Disorder "I take Anafranil for 32 years now, after a diagnosis of OCD when I was 15 years old; doctor said I would have to take it for the rest of my life. Two years ago, I asked the psychiatrist to try to switch the medicine, because of side effects I have that really disturb me (great hair loss, permanent dry mouth, lack of libido, etc.). Eventually, she prescribed fluvoxamine, so I stopped Anafranil and started it. The experience was AWFUL: immediately I started feeling kind of detached from everything, what it came out to be as a profound state of depression. The doctor increased the dose and things didn't change at all. After two and a half months taking fluvoxamine and feeling completely depressed, emotional detached from everything and with a permanent underlying "dark"/strange feeling, I decided to stop it. Instead, that night I took half of my usual 75 mg Anafranil; the next morning I was just fine, the "normal", functional me."

For Obsessive Compulsive Disorder "Initially, at 25mg it worked decently well. I went out to eat for the first time in months, I went shopping an hour away, and I wasn’t obsessed with cleaning my apartment 24/7 as bad. I’m a college student, so something I did notice was the little bits of extreme panic that lasted maybe 5 minutes at a time, but resolved quickly. The other thing I noticed at the beginning was that it made me extremely dizzy and I started developing migraines, which I’ve never had before, so I chopped it up to being dehydrated and not drinking enough water. Then, about 6 1/2 to 7 weeks in, things really went downhill. I started developing an extreme social phobia, and anytime I would do little bits of cleaning; I would start having panic attacks. It turned into full blown agoraphobia after a week. I have almost committed myself after these past 2 weeks, and I have quit my job as of last week. I almost had to drop out of college. This probably works for some people, but definitely not me."

For Obsessive Compulsive Disorder "Considering quitting Luvox / Fluvoxamine. I’ve been on Luvox for 9 weeks on 100mg. Increased dose to 200mg since 10 days ago and considering giving up on the medication as I feel it’s not helping me. I’m not sure what to do, whether I should stick to the increased dose or just give it up right now."

For Anxiety and Stress "I have suffered from panic attacks for 12 years and was recently diagnosed with OCD. My doctor prescribed my Luvox (20mg). I was very hopeful that this drug would help with all the worrying I do. On day 4 of the medicine, I had panic attacks for HOURS. I’d have one and then 10-15 minutes later would have another. I ended up calling 911 because I thought I was dying (it’s been years since I had panic attacks as bad as this). I also ended up at the ER were the panic attacks would not stop. I will not take another pill of this."

For Obsessive Compulsive Disorder "I switched to Luvox because Effexor was making my cholesterol go through the roof and now the sexual side effects are back and I'm more tired than usual. I take 450mg Wellbutrin with it along with various supplements. I'm going to give it a few weeks before trying something else."

For Anxiety and Stress "I’m on fluvoxamine for depression. It helped with it and with my bad thoughts but it gave me severe sexual problems so I'm forced to switch. It only started to be helpful after a month and also it can give you sleep problems and anxiety (just at the start, like the first 2 weeks). But the sexual problems are still there even if my depression has been better, but still not cured. So I’m switching now."

For Post Traumatic Stress Disorder "After a few other medications failed to help, I tried Luvox for 13 weeks. It immediately made me nauseous, and the effect was constant--not just when I took the dose. I also had no improvement in my PTSD symptoms. Eventually I gave up and had to try another drug."

For Obsessive Compulsive Disorder "Makes my OCD manageable. Has given me headaches and/or insomnia when I start taking it for the first time in a long time, but they usually go away. And it sure beats staying up because I’m too anxious to fall asleep. (Have been taking it on and off for about 4 years) Just remember everyone’s bodies respond to different drugs differently."

For Anxiety and Stress "So I loved this at first - did wonders for my depression and anxiety but then as soon as I increased dosage I had INSANE constipation and stomach issues. Talking 3-4 days and intense bloating, hard to concentrate or be at work, etc. When I would skip a dose to fix my stomach I’d have a bad headache for half the day. Just a lose lose on everything but my anxiety and depression. Now will be going off sadly. Watch out for stomach issues!"
