"I have anaphylaxis, RA, multiple connective tissue diseases, then Dercum's disease made my life almost untenable. Luckily, my GP and rheumatoid specialist were aware of this disease. I was already on azathioprine and fentanyl patches. As the pain increased, my fentanyl patches have been increased to 150 mcg per hour, changed every 3 days. Azathioprine to 150 mg daily. My whole body has lipomas from my head to my feet on the right-hand side and to my knee on the left-hand side. Also internally. My lungs filled up with 2 1/2 liters of blood, and doctors started discussing lung transplants. I have practiced meditation and self-healing since I was 12, and now I'm 55. This is the only thing that stops my depression from taking complete control."

For Chronic Pain "Having chronic pain in my whole spine, they gave me the Fentanyl patch. They started low dosage, then they moved me up to 75mg. At this time in my life, I also had hot flashes. I saw no warnings, nothing about that. Long story short, after the second day, I started withdrawing, and that, people, is not a pretty sight. I had no idea what was going on, so I never went back on it. There should be a warning to all doctors and pharmacies. I had to pull it off the internet to show my pharmacy."

For Chronic Pain "I have had 5 back surgeries in four years with the last one being a double fusion at L4 to S1. This last surgery failed again, and they are now considering another one to fuse my lumbar spine all together. I have been on Fentanyl patch along with Percocet for three plus years. I take 150 mcg every 48 hours along with ten Percocet a day and still in pain. I just wish I could find something that relieves the pain to at least allow me somewhat of a better life. Right now I am basically housebound and depressed and sometimes very angry."
