"I swear this pill made me so anxious. I would have so many panic attacks and always feel like the worst was about to happen. It always got better on the period week... the week not on the pill (obvi). I don't know... I don't recommend this pill to someone who may struggle with anxiety or depression. I did perfectly fine on Ortho Tri-Cyclen other than I had switched due to the irritability I felt. I then realized I'd rather be a grump than always go into panic mode."

"I began taking Cryselle a little over two years ago. I began taking it to fix irregular periods. At first, I didn't notice any side effects, but here lately, I have been on an emotional roller coaster. I am constantly going from happy to sad within minutes. I have also noticed that I have been feeling depressed constantly. People have asked me numerous times if something is wrong due to my mood swings. I don't recommend this pill at all! I have already switched pills."

"I’m 24, and I’ve been taking this pill for almost 9 years. It is wonderful, I’ve never had a bad side effect. People writing negative reviews clearly have just started taking it or have only been taking it for a few months, and their bodies have not adjusted or reacted well to the hormone shift. This could happen with any drug, as people’s bodies react differently. But do not be afraid!"

"I am currently on the hunt for a birth control (BC) that doesn't impact my libido as much. My OBGYN recommended this one after a year of being off BC. I have been trying other BCs. She gave me a three-month supply and told me that it takes a month for my body to get used to it. Boy, let me tell you! If you are even remotely depressed or struggle with anxiety, steer clear of this BC. After taking this for a month, I was 10x more depressed, and really dark thoughts were emerging, and my anxiety was high. I can say I stopped taking it four days ago, and I feel so much better! I already made my appointment for next week."

"I've been using this pill now for about a month. My mood has changed drastically. I'm always depressed, most of the time I wanna cry, it makes me feel really nervous, and I can't stand most people, feeling stressed. I lost a few lbs, which is a good thing, and it controls my weight since I have a hormonal imbalance. But I hope to get off this pill ASAP."

"I have been on this pill for over 4 years. In these past four years, I have been moody, emotional, and depressed. I seriously thought I had a mental disorder, and I seemed helped because of it. The only good thing about this pill was I never got pregnant. Since stopping this pill, I have been happy... and my true self again."

"Cryselle changed my life. I went from super heavy periods with unbearable cramps that lasted 6-7 days to light, painless periods that last 3 days. My mood swings are gone, and I haven't had any side effects besides a decreased libido, which I honestly don't mind."

"I've been on the pill for more than a year now, and I love it. I used to get really bad headaches before, horrible cramps, and a heavy period twice a month. The pill changed everything: no more constant headaches, no cramps or any menstrual symptoms, no acne, light flow 3-4 days, and no weight gain. The pill's been great to me!"

"I have been taking Cryselle for 2 years now, and I love it. Haven't had any side effects, and the way it helps keep my period regular is awesome. I know exactly when to expect it and how long it will last. Before Cryselle, I was taking another birth control that made me nauseous, gave me headaches, and would give me 2 periods a month. I love that I found Cryselle, and I will continue to use it."

"Was on this pill for two years. Gained about 15 pounds, had cystic acne around my periods, and my mood swings were unbelievable. I would find myself getting so angry and irritated at everyone and everything for absolutely no reason. Perks were I didn't get pregnant and my periods were short and light, with no cramping. This was my 6th pill I tried, and after this, I gave up and switched to an IUD. Couldn't be happier."

"I've been on it for about 3 years, it works, as I haven't gotten pregnant. My first 3 months were horrible, with nausea and vomiting on the first 2 weeks of the pack. I take my pill at night, so waking up on the first weeks of the pack was horrible. My doctor warned me of feeling 'morning sickness,' but the nausea subsided after the 3 months. I still occasionally get some nausea, but it's only if I missed a dose and had to take 2 on the same day. My periods are about 3 days and light. I always get it by the third day of taking the placebo pills. Some months I get cramps, but they're not painful. I get PMS one week before my period, and I've noticed I get really depressed, emotional, and get chin acne. I've gotten used to it, so I'm okay with it."

"Comments from people with positive reviews assuming things like, “Women who rated this pill poorly just didn’t give their bodies time to adjust,” are so disheartening to see. This pill gave me crazy back acne, headaches so bad I couldn’t get up, and awful anxiety for months on end. I assure you that I gave it plenty of time to see if I would “adjust” to this pill, and I had had enough of feeling like I was going insane waiting for that to happen. If this pill worked for you, that’s great. But there’s a large number of us it didn’t work for, and that’s okay. Birth control is completely dependent on body chemistry, and while some people have done great on this pill, people who have gone through horrible things because of it are completely valid in their reviews as well. Be careful and watch your emotions and mental health when being on Cryselle."

"I've been on Cryselle for 3 months now. The first month, I was an emotional wreck, crying over nothing and just super bothered by anyone and everyone! It's gotten better now, but the week of my sugar pills, I'm still on an emotional rollercoaster. My periods shortened from 7 days to about 3-4, which is nice. My face breaks out during my period and is blotchy, but I can't completely blame it all on the pill since it happened before. This pill didn't make me gain any weight, I actually lost about 10 lbs during the first two months. Overall, this pill has been alright. At the very least, it's been effective, but I am considering switching it up."

"Do not take. Raised blood glucose levels on Cryselle to over 200. With Cryselle right away, I noticed my temper went through the roof. I was always mad, sad, or feeling down. So, for those reasons, I was constantly doubting myself. That was pretty bad for me, but the worst part was that it was spiking my blood glucose anywhere from 200 to 250. My previous levels, before taking this pill, were very normal at 88 fasting, so that’s a huge jump. I did extensive monitoring, and it would spike up to those levels within one hour of taking the pill and no other foods. And that was only with one full week of taking it. I switched back to my previous birth control, and four days later, my blood glucose is finally starting to regulate itself. It’s still a little high with it being 106 after fasting, but it’s the lowest it’s been in a while. I just wanted to share my experience because when I researched this drug, I did not see effects on blood glucose, and it could become a dangerous thing."

"I was on Cryselle for a year and one month. I had noticed some random anxiety here and there (never have had anxiety), but it always went away quickly, and I didn’t think anything of it. However, my parents noted how I was more apathetic, withdrawn, and disinterested as time passed. I was put on an equivalent (generic) of this drug at my annual, and things quickly went off a cliff. Weight gain, acne, irrational anxiety and depression, no sex drive at all with my fiancé, and mental fog all the time. I would say that it all depends on individual body chemistry, but this pill was awful for me, maybe due to being higher in estrogen than my previous pill. I am now off this and doing so much better. Do not recommend."

"I’ve been on birth control for a year, and I didn’t have any side effects besides maybe a small headache, like once a month, which was close to my period week. I recently got switched to a new birth control which is basically the generic form of my old pill, and it is “Cryselle.” I’ve been on this pill for 3 weeks, about to be on my 4th. I’ve noticed that after I take my pill every night at 9 pm, 30 minutes after, my stomach starts feeling weird and it continues on until 10 am the next morning at least. It makes me feel as if I’m going to throw up, but I can’t throw up. Also, I’ve noticed whenever I eat a full meal after I took this pill, it makes me feel even worse than I do if I don’t have a full meal afterward. Sometimes I eat before, and sometimes I eat after. Anyone know of a way to resolve this problem? Also, I’ve been having body aches in a way and feel extremely tired and more emotional than I’ve ever felt."

"I have been using Cryselle for almost 2 years now. ACNE: The first couple of months... my acne got pretty awful. Eventually, I started to see my acne dramatically getting better. I had severe acne before starting the pill, and now I only have a couple of pimples at a time. WEIGHT: For the first 5 months, I stayed the same weight, and my breasts didn’t grow at all (so if you are looking for a pill to make your breasts bigger, I would not recommend this pill). By the 7th month, I gained 15 pounds without changing anything in my diet or exercise. Now I fluctuate up and down quite a lot in weight without changing anything. MOOD: my mood has pretty much stayed the same from what I have noticed. The only thing that has changed since taking the pill is that my irritability has increased quite a bit. This could just be non-related to the pill, but I’m not exactly sure. Do realize not everyone reacts to medication the same, so my experience may differ from yours!"

"I have been taking Cryselle for just over two years and have been fighting depression, weight gain, terrible headaches, and anxiety attacks for the entire duration. I live a very stressful life, but I was always optimistic and could fight through it until I started taking this pill. After about 3 months, I tried to commit suicide, my depression has become debilitating, and I have anxiety attacks at the most random moments without any triggers. I've been off the pill for about a week, and my mood is already improving. This pill changed who I am completely. I lost my friends and became distant, all because of the depression. I'm not sure how to be me again or who I even am anymore. Be careful and watch out for any side effects."

"Finally, after countless trials and errors with different pills, I found one that works. Going on month 2. First week, it gave me a headache and a bit of nausea, but by week 2, I felt fine. I know they say it takes up to 3 months for your body to adjust, so I am waiting to see if it does clear up my face a bit. Other than that, sex drive has been higher, which is a plus."

"I've been using Cryselle for three months now, and it has been amazing! I used to get horrible cramps that often made me nauseous and resulted in me missing several days of school just because of my period. Since I've been on this birth control, my period changed from 5 days to 3 days, and I bleed much lighter with mild to no cramps. The first couple of weeks, I had some mood swings and cravings for food, but it stopped after the first month. The only downside to it is it will make you feel nauseous if you take it at night, and my breasts are very tender and sore during my period. But other than that, A++!"

"I was on Cryselle for years before I had children, and it was wonderful! I went back on it a year after baby #3, and this time around, I had 4 to 5 day migraines the week of my period. I stuck with it for 4 months to see if they would go away, but they never did. I suppose my body changed, which is a bummer because this one worked so well for so long prior. No complaints from the previous years I took it."

"I’ve been on Cryselle for 11 years now, and my body has tolerated it really well. Didn’t plan on being on birth control for this long, but I haven’t had really any negative side effects that make me want to get off of it at this time. My periods are light and consistent, I have no acne, no weight gain, and my energy levels are consistently high. The only thing I would say is negative is I do get pretty severe PMS the week before my period, but I try to drink plenty of water, eat lots of veggies, avoid caffeine and alcohol, and get plenty of sleep to limit the symptoms. I would be open-minded to trying this BCP if you haven’t found a pill that has worked for you yet!"

"I was on this for a year. They told me this birth control helped with acne, so I listened. I noticed my skin was getting worse, but I always suffered from acne since I was 13. I noticed a change in my behavior, I would get angry a lot and cried more. I recently decided to stop taking this medicine to do an experiment to see if anything would change when I stopped. My acne has completely cleared up now that I'm off it, I just have a zit here and there. I'm also happier, not as tired. I even went to my dermatologist, and she said she's never heard of this birth control helping with acne, which is really weird. So for anyone who is deciding to try this as their birth control, I wouldn't recommend it, especially if you're using it for an acne regimen. I have seen people comment that they have tried this for a month and noticed more acne, and some people were saying that's because their body didn't get used to it yet. Well, I'm here to say that I was on this for almost two years, and I had the exact same issues the whole time."

"I was before on Trinessa, and I never had any side effects or problems. I'm on Cryselle for about 2 weeks (I had to change the pills for a while) - I have constant nausea and dizziness. I hope this goes off soon - if no, I'm stopping them."

"Horrible, absolutely horrible. I was on low ogesteral, and my pharmacy just switched it to Cryselle one day. Within a week, I felt depressed and withdrawn and completely not myself. I felt like crying and would cry at the drop of a dime for no given reason. I barely made it through one pack before I came off and actually spent a month off birth control until I could get an appointment to get a new pill. I am very sensitive to estrogen, so it is possible that I am an exception, but I have never had this experience on other birth control pills."
