"This is my second form of birth control and I absolutely love it! My insurance pays for it, so it does not cost me one penny. When I did pay for it; it was less than ten dollars. I started on the Depo shot and I hated it. I gained 40 pounds on it, and it affected me tremendously. Tri-sprintec hasn't let me down. I have used it for little over two years now. My boyfriend and I have been together for a year and we have been baby free. It continues to work for me. I haven't gained any weight. I don't get mood swings. The only difference I have noticed is a little bit more cramping, but nothing major. Cramps have been bearable. If you are looking for a steady birth control, than this could be for you."

"I was told Tri Sprintec had the same ingredients as tri nessa (tri nessa has been discontinued) so I went with it. I’m on day 6 and it’s been AWFUL! I feel nauseous and sick all day long. My mood is out of control and I get these horrible headaches that won’t go away. I didn’t want to believe the reviews because everyone reacts differently, but this truly is the worst pill I’ve ever been on. I don’t even think I can finish the pack TBH. Nothing like tri nessa."

"I started taking birth control at 18 years old, I am now 25. I was on Ortho-Tri-Cyclen for about 5 years, did great on it. Due to insurance I had to switch to Trinessa, heavier periods and more mood swings followed. Now the pharmacy gave my Tri-Sprintec because they don't carry Trinessa. I am on day 8 and am getting more nauseous by the day. The Pharmacist assured me that Trinessa and Tri-Sprintec are the exact same medicines, just made by two different manufacturers, but I have never felt so nauseous in my life. I know pregnancy is not even a consideration because my period just ended the week I started taking the Tri-Sprintec. I will be switching back to Trinessa next month, no matter the cost! Hope this helps someone with similar situation!"

"I’ve been on Tri-Sprintec for 6 months now The first three months were awful but now I really love my birth control. At first, I was having awful mood swings, depression, and random crying spells. I stuck with the pill and then after getting married in December, all my bad symptoms subsided. My acne has gone away and I’ve never had skin this clear! My periods are very manageable, and I can control my period if I want to. So far, no pregnancy, but I’m super religious about taking my pills on time, and try to use back up prevention when on antibiotics. I completely sympathize with all the ladies who have put reviews on here, but thankfully my symptoms have gone away and I’m gonna stick to this pill. Best wishes!"

"I have been on Tri Sprintec for 7 years and have overall had no problems with it. I started taking it to clear up my severe acne. I had been to dermatologist after dermatologist and had been on every cream and pill to treat my acne and nothing worked until I got on Tri Sprintec. I did not gain any weight, my skin cleared up, my periods were regulated, I did not experience any spotting or anything like that. I am changing birth control pills after this pack due to longer periods. My period had always been about 6-7 days but the past few months it has been 10-12 days. I'm not sure if the lengthened period is due to the Tri Sprintec but I never had any problems with it until recently. I would recommend Tri Sprintec to anyone."

"I had been on Tri-Sprintec for about a year and a half to prevent pregnancy. A few months after starting to take it, I began to gain weight and become severely depressed. I would cry at every little thing, and my period cramps were worse than they were before. I couldn't sleep and had no sex drive. It didn't even occur to me that these changes were due to my birth control until I finally went to the doctor who told me that sounds like symptoms of Tri-sprintec. I just got an IUD placed and I have never felt better, I have my personality back."

"I've been through the mill with birth control pills. I've probably tried and quit 10 contraceptives. I LOVE this pill, though. It helps with regulating my periods since I have PCOS (polycystic ovarian syndrome) and now I'm actually able to get pregnant. I might mention that I'm a decently sized woman, too. It completely stopped my acne. I've never, knock on wood, had any problems with blood clots, quickened heart rate, high blood pressure, headaches, increased appetite, decreased appetite, tenderness of breasts, or an increase in the depression I already suffer from. I would recommend this contraceptive to any woman. Get this birth control! You will not be sorry."

"I got Tri Sprintec as a birth control but I should have gone on it a long time ago to regulate periods. I love being able to predict when I'll start bleeding and I love that it has shortened my periods (Now it is six days). I had been on doxycycline for acne but it conflicted with the pill so I stopped. The first month of Tri Sprintec I was worried because I didn't stop bleeding. After the first month though, I've had no problems and no irregular bleeding. I've been on it for half a year."

"Been on this for about three months since they discontinued Trinessa and forced this pill on me and let me tell you this has easily been the worst three months of my life. I need birth control to keep me regular and keep my skin clear (which this pill is only ok at doing), but it is not worth the mental damage this pill is doing to me. I’m fine the first two weeks but as soon as I start week three I feel like I’m going crazy! I cry over everything and panic and become so anxious I need anti-anxiety meds and I even have extreme dark thoughts. As soon as I finish this pill pack I’m done for good because this is not worth it it’s ruined all of my personal relationships and motivation for even succeeding in school. (Writing this on the first day of week three in case you were wondering)"

"I was prescribed Tri-Sprintec when I was 15 years old to regulate my period. I turn 20 in two weeks and have been taking this birth control consistently. I have had minimum issues (occasional breast tenderness-- no big deal). All birth controls have their side effects but to say that this would alter my decision to take this birth control is bizarre. I have sex with my partner about every other day and we NEVER use condoms. However, he only "finishes" in me once or twice every few months. Even then, I have (luckily) had no problems. I have had no weight gain or mood swings, or any other side effects. It has also kept my face perfectly clear since it doubles as an acne- fighter. Very impressed and would HIGHLY recommend to younger people."

"I have been on this medication for over 9 years and it works great for me. My periods are way lighter and the pain is much more manageable. It causes no mood swings or weight gain for me. Overall, works great and is very affordable; my insurance covers all of it, but even without insurance it's only $9/month."

"I've been on Tri-Sprintec for 1.5 months now. The plus is that Tri-Sprintec doesn't make me want to put a period to my life, like my last birth control did! Side effects include bad nausea for the first month, and my period randomly started too early just yesterday (2nd week of my 2nd month). But overall, I'm satisfied - no major weight gain that I can tell, and no acne. I'm planning to wait 3-4 months to see whether the side effects level out. I join with others in saying that every woman's body is different. Read these posts to get a sense of some common side effects, but don't panic if something different happens, and be glad if nothing happens at all! Call your doctor to make sure your symptoms aren't anything to worry about."

"I started taking this pill two months before I was supposed to get married. I've never been on birth control before this. It made my boobs enormous, but it also made me into a psycho. This pill has made me very emotional."

"I love this brand of birth control! I started taking this brand about 3 1/2 years ago and it’s helped so much. During that time I did switch to a different brand to try something else and it was the worst decision, so I switched right back. My periods are so light and short, which is plus. It helped clear my skin up right away, but recently it’s been a little worse (I blame that on STRESS). Only major complaint about the pill is a lack of sex drive. Highly recommend this for of birth control."

"To all of those girls (I'm 20 but I'm confident it will work for women of other ages) who think they will never have a clear face and will forever be burdened with horrible pimples, burning acne creams, pills, scrubs etc. THIS birth control is for you! I have never done a review of anything but felt the need to let all the girls out there with bad acne that there IS help. I was on it for a month and then immediately saw results. My awful, deep, painful pimples started disappearing and within 2 months I had a perfectly clear face- no acne at all. I do have some red spots from past pimples and once in a while when I'm stressed I'll get a pimple or two but Tri Sprintec is my SAVIOR. I tried EVERYTHING for my acne and this worked."

"I was cautious in the beginning to not read women's reviews of Tri Sprintec because I wanted to begin the experience with a fresh mind. I've only been on Tri Sprintec for two months (just beginning pack #3) and all though my doctor said it could take up to 3 packs to "adjust," I am not continuing with these synthetic hormones. I began taking this pill for a heavy period and cramps- neither were relieved. In fact, I was spotting for the week before my periods and a little after, too. I never get headaches and on this pill, I had a consistent dull throbbing pain in my head. I lost my appetite for weeks at the beginning. The worst side effect is my moods- I feel completely flat. As someone who typically is energized and excited (sometimes anxious too) about life, this pill was not for me. It stunted my personality. I threw my pack away today and I will continue seeking alternative solutions to painful periods because I'd rather have painful periods than feel this emotional numbness."

"I was originally put on OrthoTricyclin Lo for my acne, but I couldn't afford it so I was switched to trisprintec. Like I said, I was originally put on this for acne, but then my boyfriend and I started having sex so I was using it for it's BC effects too. It has worked WONDERS. My acne has cleared up, I'm not pregnant (you need to take it regularly though! don't forget!), no mood swings, and my periods are shorter and lighter. However, I didn't experience the GOOD side effects till after 3 months in! I was moody, bloated, and nauseous, but my body needed to get used to it. I encourage you to try and stick it out for a bit if you just started and are feeling that way. keep up with it and maybe you'll like it too!"

"I started taking Ortho Tri-Cyclen 20 years ago. A couple of years back, I was switched to TriNessa, with no issues. Now, both Ortho Tri-Cyclen and TriNessa are no longer being made, so the pharmacy switched me to Tri-Sprintec. I was told that Tri-Sprintec is the exact same formula as TriNessa, and I was very obviously lied to. This medication has caused a red, bumpy rash all over my face. It’s awful. I’ve had to stop taking it. I never had any problems at all with Ortho Tri-Cyclen or TriNessa. TriSprintec is horrible!"

"As far as birth control, it is an extremely effective contraceptive pill! Never got any severe side effects; some nausea the first week, but that's about it. Also, my periods are about the same flow wise, but very little cramping, about 4 days long instead of 5. I used to have awful skin, and now it is clear! The only thing that happened when I went on this medication that may be displeasing to others is that I gained about 30 pounds. My varying weight before was 106-110, and now I am between 130-136lbs."

"I was on this bc 2 & a half months before I decided to stop. This was not my first BC & previously I had no issues with bc. The first month was okay but around the 2nd month I started having terrible nausea at nighttime. To the point where I wasn't able to leave the house. I also had extremely decreased libido. Went from having sex daily to maybe once a week. No change in weight or appetite other than not wanting to eat because of the nausea. I have now been off of trisprintec for about a week & haven't had any nighttime nausea at all. Every bc effects everyone differently but this was not the one for me."

"I was a huge fan of Trinessa, I was on it for a year and a half with no issues and no side effects. I stopped taking it for about 6 months because I was no longer in a relationship and just wanted to see if anything changed (Weight, skin, mood) if I got off the pill. I decided to start taking it again just to keep my periods more regular and because I forgot how terrible my cramps are without birth control. I went to my pharmacy and got a refill and noticed they discontinued Trinessa and was given this Tri-Sprintec stuff instead. I’m almost at the end of my second week taking it and it is terrible, nothing like Trinessa. I’ve had weird stabbing pains in my left breast, I’m tired 24/7, my anxiety has been awful, I’ve had no appetite and my stomach has constantly been upset, and I’m so depressed that I barely want to get out of bed. If you were previously on Trinessa and liked it, do not get this. I’m going to have to try and find a better Trinessa equivalent now"

"I just want to point out that every girl experiences different things with all types of birth control. About the pill Tri-Sprintec I've been on it for over a year and it's been great. I'm 19 and I got on it because my fiance and I became sexually active. I never had a regular period and this fixed it right up. It also got rid of my acne. I actually lost weight and went from 115 to 107. I have not gotten pregnant and I don't have mood swings. I do get a sweet tooth and a salt tooth sometimes. Before I start my period my breasts get tender and I get emotional but once I begin bleeding both are gone. I do want to say that if you catch yourself craving more food just get some gum."

"Let me just start with the fact that if I am going to buy or use anything under the sun, it is more than likely that I have read every review ever written on the item before buying/using it, etc. Before going on the pill, I read reviews for at least 100 different brands/versions of the combo pill and mini-pill before narrowing it down to three options (all combo pills). I talked each option over with my OBGYN and we settled on Tri-Sprintec for a few reasons. A. Triphasic (mirrors natural hormone levels better) B. Estrogen/androgen/progestin ingredients/levels help with acne and C. First two weeks of pills are low dose. Pros: no mood swings, no weight gain except in boobs Cons: medium cramps, slight breakthrough bleeding. Overall: Love it!"
