"I’ve been on Tri-Sprintec for a year now. My first month, I had a period that lasted the entire month, but it only happened that first month. This birth control does its job of preventing pregnancy. It also helped with my acne (like others have said, I get a pimple or two right when my period starts, but that’s it). It’s regulated my periods in the way that I know when I start the 4th week, my period will start. However, during the second week, I have spotting for almost the whole week... it’s very annoying. I’ve also noticed mood swings, depression, and anxiety. I have not gained weight with this medication. There are pros to this BC and cons. I’m staying on it for the next three months to see if any of the cons improve..."

"I've been on Tri-Sprintec for about 3 weeks now. It definitely has its pros and cons. First, I'll start by saying that I was put on this pill for abnormal uterine bleeding, which came with the worst cramps ever. So, the doctor prescribed me this, and my mood swings have gone, there's no cramps, and the bleeding finally stopped after months. So, I'm assuming it's starting to regulate my cycle. But - I am experiencing nausea and fatigue. I go to school full-time and work full-time, so I seriously hope it ends, because I can't afford to miss either of those important parts of my life. Overall, it does the job as far as the bleeding and mood swings are concerned, but may not be worth the side effects I'm experiencing if they persist much longer."

"I’ve only taken this pill one month, which was for March. My original pills were discontinued by Walgreens, and these were prescribed. These pills are horrible. I began bleeding, spotting after only 2 weeks of taking them. The spotting continued from March 8th to March 24, not to mention the cramps. Wow, they were horrible. In April, I did not take the pill at all, I stopped, so one month on these horrible things. I began spotting April 8 and 9, my cycle came down on the 10th, and I’m still bleeding at April 20. That’s 10 days of bleeding. I will never, ever take these pills again, nor would I ever recommend them to anyone. My iron is horrible at this point, I just want to stop bleeding."

"I was put on Tri-Sprintec when I started getting my periods every two weeks and was on it for three months. It fixed my period problem, but I had never had a problem with acne until starting this. My acne got so much worse and would clear up instantly once I started the sugar pills. I went from a D to a DD, which is kind of annoying, but I didn't gain much weight, at least. The worst part, however, was the tenderness in my breasts, it was horrible. Painful to the touch, running or going to the gym was horribly uncomfortable. Just like the acne, during the fourth week on sugar pills, the pain disappeared only to return again with a new pack."

"So I've been on this a few weeks. I'm noticing more headaches. I generally feel sluggish. I feel sick, if I move too fast, I get dizzy. I take it in the morning, and if I don't eat soon after taking it, I have stomach pain the rest of the day. Weird fluttering cramps are another thing. Breast sensitivity out the wazoo. Increased sex drive. Metallic taste, like the taste you get right before you throw up. Random nausea spells, I have to pop mints like a son of a gun to feel okay. I'm disinterested in hobbies. I'm going to try to ride it out. It's better than the single hormones made me feel, but not by much."

"I was on these pills for 2 months. From the first week, I didn't notice any side effects, but from the second week I started bleeding and spotting all the time. In the first month it was very light, the second month a little bit more. In the end of the second month, before the white pills, it stopped. I had acne before, but I went to the salon for facials and my skin was almost perfect, but since I started to use the pills, my skin became worse. Also, in the middle of the first month, I was just super mad every day. My husband wanted me to stop using them, but then in a few days I came back to my normal mood. I didn't gain weight, at least, and totally I felt fine."

"First and last month on this. I did notice mild nausea for half a day at the start of the pack, but that went away quickly. I'm not sure if I've gained any weight, but it sure does seem like it. My breasts are way more tender than they ever have been, but the worst thing is the spotting. I've been spotting for the last three days, and it's so painful. My periods are usually easy and last only a few days. The cramps I've experienced before this pill were mild compared to the cramps brought on by Tri-Sprintec. I was on Yaz when I was 18 and had no issues with it, so I'm going to try switching. The spotting is horrible, and I think it's given me a yeast infection or something, 'cause I'm unusually itchy. I'm done with this pill!!"

"I've been taking Tri-Sprintec for almost a year now, and it does what I started taking it for: regulating things. However, I experience terrible cramps, irritability, and mood swings, which I never experienced before I started taking it. I'm sticking with this pill because it keeps my periods short and light, opposite of before I was taking them."

"It has made me extremely nauseous. I can't stop throwing up. So far, it hasn't helped with cramps or acne. My period hasn't gone off since I started it, and I start the placebo pills in 3 days. I will be consulting my doctor to switch once this pack is done."

"I’ve been on Tri-Sprintec for almost 7 years now and love it! Everyone will experience different side effects, but I mainly was taking this to regulate my horrible periods. I haven’t experienced a single bad period in 7 years because of it! I did gain a few pounds, but overall my acne cleared up and my crazy PMS mood swings died down as well."

"Originally, I was prescribed Tri-Nessa, and in about November, it was either discontinued or Walgreens stopped providing it, but I was put on Tri-Sprintec and told there would be no “adjustment” period and shouldn’t feel any different starting these pills. Instead, I felt extremely depressed the first two months, my periods became irregular, and I was constantly extremely tired and moody but couldn’t sleep. The doctor told me to stop taking it or ride it out, and I decided to continue taking it. Month 4, I have been on my period going on three weeks now."

"I've been on Tri-Sprintec for about 4 months now. I switched from the depo shot because I wanted a period. The first two months I had no problems, just a little breast tenderness. The 3rd month I got my period for two days and then it stopped for a few days and then came back for another two days. This 4th month my period was almost two weeks late. It is not consistent, and I do have horrible mood swings. The one bright side is my periods are shorter and a lot lighter than usual. I'm married, so naturally my husband and I don't use condoms, so this was a form of contraceptive, but it's not worth it to me. Before birth control, my period came at the same time every month, so I'm just going to stop taking it altogether."

"I switched from Ortho Tri-Cyclen to this and didn't notice a difference. I used to pay $40 a month for my medicine, which is hard for a broke college student, but now I only pay $8! So worth the switch! The only change in my body I've noticed was my breast getting larger by a whole cup size."

"I had intense period cramps and always had heavy periods that would last 3-5 days. The Tri-Sprintec helped with cramps, and I have been on this medication for almost two years now. I have no sex drive and mild depression, along with bad weight gain, and I play soccer and run 3.5K almost every practice, still couldn't lose weight. And the main reason I got it was to help with cramps and the chance of cysts on ovaries. Now it doesn't help with cramps anymore, and I'm not happy, I'm switching to the Kyleena implant. Overall, it was an okay method, I never used it for actual birth control, so no idea if it works effectively that way."

"This pill is total shit. It was prescribed to me to regulate my periods, and while it did do that, the side effects were horrendous. The third week of the third month, I suffered a severe panic attack at work and was out of work for the rest of that week. I barely left my house and was afraid to drive for the remainder of the week. I had subsequent panic attacks and severe anxiety for the rest of that week, along with chest pains and heart palpitations. At one point, my anxiety levels were so high I thought I would vomit. I was so scared that I would drop dead any minute from a heart attack. This drug made me a severely anxious, emotional, irrational mess of a human being, and many of the side effects have lingered for the past five months...."

"I chose this birth control to prevent pregnancy, hoping it would help stop my periods. I've been on it for 7 months, and so far, the only side effect I'm experiencing is abnormal periods. The first couple of months, I chose to skip the placebo week but still got my normal 7-day period each month. In the 5th month, I got a 3-week period, which was super frustrating but eventually stopped. I just started again (3 weeks later) while still on my active pills. I'm debating on if I should try a different birth control or wait it out. Other than that, this pill is doing its job. No babies, mood swings, weight gain, nausea, acne, etc. Just abnormal periods."

"When using Tri-Sprintec, my first month was okay. I was a little moody, but eventually leveled out. I missed my period for the first month. During my second month, I experienced horrible abnormal bleeding. It first began as spotting, the blood was really dark. I’d think I was done bleeding, then it would start up again. After this, I started to experience heavy bleeding. This cycle went on for about 2 weeks, until I decided to stop taking the pills. I bled on and off for another week until it stopped altogether. I went into depression."

"This is a 100% legitimate review because, like everyone else who is looking at these reviews, I was paranoid to take these pills. I had taken them for about a month (I'm on my last 3 pills now for the first pack; this is exactly what I have noticed.) My acne has gotten dramatically better; it's not completely gone, but my face feels smooth for once in my life. I've had severe hormonal acne ever since 6th grade, and I couldn't do anything about it. While taking this pill, I had a small breakout at the start of my period, but it went away reasonably quickly. My breasts have grown, and my figure has become a bit more feminine. I have a more curvy figure. I've experienced no side effects: no weight change or depression."

"Do not take Tri-Sprintec. All it does is make you fat, make you want to eat everything in your pantry, and it makes you cry, especially the week before the sugar pills. I would give this medicine a -10000000000000, but that’s not an option."

"I've only been on the Tri-Sprintec pill for a little bit to help my acne clear up and regulate my periods. So the first few days have been fine, but my vagina itches like crazy. It wasn't that bad until the Wednesday after I started the pill. I don't think I've been on it long enough to notice changes in my acne or weight, but I didn't know if anyone else has had the same experience as I have had so far? I also haven't been sick or really felt that bad except for a little stomach aches."

"I have been on this since switching from Minastrin 24 Fe mint chewable due to my bad insurance. I have been on Tri-Sprintec for a month and a half and have noticed feeling bloated and tired. I have gained a few pounds, which is scaring me considering I'm 4'10 and have never been over 100 lbs, and my weight typically remains the same. I work out 6 days a week and eat right, and the past few weeks have been hell. I would rather spend $150 a month on my Minastrin than ever take this pill ever again, which is exactly what I'll be doing."

"My doctor put me on this birth control 6 weeks after I had my son. I told him my periods are really heavy and the cramping (no lie) felt like I was having really bad contractions. My appointment was on a Monday, so he told me to take Sunday and Monday together, and I was already on my period for 3 days, so my check-up was a little awkward. He told me it would help with my cramps and lighten/shorten my period. Well, the next day my period was just about gone, and I had no cramping whatsoever."
