For Birth Control "When I first started Tri-Lo-Sprintec, I had serious acne for the first month, and then my skin cleared. However, it made my period bleeding severe to the point of uncontrollable, and I would experience nausea to the point of throwing up. I never realized it was the pill until I was off it for a few months. I’ve tried to return to the pill since I experienced clear skin and no weight gain the first time around, but 2 months in, my chin and forehead acne are the worst they’ve ever been. I’ve never struggled with cystic acne until this pill. I’m nauseous for days at a time, I’ve gained 10 lb after being the same weight for 3 years, and I’ve been menstruating for a few weeks now after spotting consistently. I will be trying other pills in hopes that they can have fewer side effects. The first time around, it was tolerable, but my body seems to absolutely hate this pill now."

For Birth Control "I started this birth control 1 month ago and had just taken my second pill of the 2nd month pack when I was at work and was experiencing anxiety and nausea before I ultimately started to sweat profusely and nearly pass out. I had been experiencing heightened anxiety, waves of nausea, no libido except for around my period, weight gain, and severely painful breasts the whole month before. My acne did clear up, and I was not having severe PMS and depression like I was before, so I thought my symptoms were from other things until I got to this page today."

For Birth Control "I had been taking Trinessa for years, and I loved it! I suffer from adult hormonal acne, and I found that medication to work wonders for my skin. Two months ago, I was switched to Tri-Lo-Sprintec without any warning. Without altering my daily routine and diet (I’m pretty active and healthy), in just two months, I have put on quite a bit of weight, I've lost so much hair, and to make matters even worse, my acne flares have never been so horrific! I’m experiencing giant cysts all over my chin, cheeks, and back, which are taking forever to heal! I have never been so disappointed in a medication before. It didn’t work for me at all! I stopped taking it in hopes of some relief to my breakouts, and my skin started clearing up FINALLY within a week of being off! And in a week, I am already losing the weight I gained. I wouldn’t recommend. I am wondering now should I be on the Tri-Sprintec (generic of Trinessa) not the Tri-Lo-Sprintec (generic of TriNessa Lo)."

For Birth Control "Ok—I’ve been on this pill for 6 weeks, and I thought it was just me. I’m nauseous every time I take it, I cramp like crazy, and I’m eating and gaining a ridiculous amount of weight, which leaves me feeling bloated and sluggish. No, I’m not blaming it all on the pill, but I took Tri-Cyclen Lo for years, and after my daughter, I went on the Nexplanon for 3 years. My original plan was to go natural and practice abstinence, but I chickened out. That’s the direction I’m headed now because this pill has my body all out of whack."

For Birth Control "This is terrible, honestly. I was on Ortho Tri-Cyclen, but then my pharmacy told me I ran out of refills. Ever since I was put on this, I have gained 10 lbs in 3 months (which I haven't gained/lost more than 3 lbs in over 5 years). My moodiness has caused me to start fights with my boyfriend like crazy, and I feel awful almost 24/7, even though I'm on Prozac as well. The only thing that works is the actual birth control part."

For Birth Control "So I started this birth control about 5 months ago, and it hasn’t been great, to be honest. I have pretty regular periods, they’re light and not that bad, but this birth control makes me feel SO SICK, like I throw up once every other week now, and I feel nauseous a lot. It also made me break out like CRAZY, and I used to have relatively clear skin. My friends, boyfriend, and mom say that I’ve been more angry and mean lately, so I’m definitely changing it. I’ve also noticed slight weight gain. I’ve just had a terrible experience."

For Ovarian Cysts "For all of you who have just started taking Tri-Lo Sprintec and don't notice any symptoms, just wait. I was switched from Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo to Tri-Lo Sprintec in July of 2016. In May of 2017, I started getting insane headaches, to the point where I couldn't have any lights on in my office because I couldn't look at my computer screen for more. I also gained about 15 unwanted pounds over the past year. I did some research and decided to go back to Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo to see if the symptoms would go away. They went away almost immediately. I don't recommend Tri-Lo Sprintec to anyone, but I do recommend Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo. Yes, there is a cost, but I have taken it for 10 years and have had no problems, I think it is worth the money."

For Birth Control "I've been taking this for about 4 months now. I lost a lot of weight, so they switched me to Tri-Lo-Sprintec. I took it every morning at the same time, it didn't make me gain any weight or help with my acne. Been feeling weird lately, took a test and I'm pregnant. Roughly 3 or 4 weeks along."

For Birth Control "I’ve used birth control since I was 14, now I'm almost 19, and my primary use is cycle regulation with acne control. I was on Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo for a while and loved it before my pharmacy randomly switched me to Tri-Lo-Sprintec. I was scared at first, and although it kept up with what I wanted from the pill to begin with, it’s been around a year or two on this generic pill, and I hate it. I gained 40 lbs, I have severe anxiety, I’m depressed, moody, and I eat almost everything in sight ever since I was put onto this pill. Just recently I’ve been spotting in between cycles as well, and I’m wondering if the weight gain from this pill has made it less effective since it’s just the Lo version. Definitely talking to my gyno or PCP about alternative birth control methods next visit. If your pharmacy attempts to put you on this pill and you have the ability to switch, do it. I just want to be me again."

For Birth Control "I had a great experience. No issues with weight gain, acne, or hormonal mood swings for me, and have never gotten pregnant either. I'm disappointed that production is being delayed, and it's not as easy to get anymore."

For Birth Control "When I first started Tri-Lo-Sprintec, I was doing well on it. After the 2nd packet, I started to experience bad nausea and some diarrhea. It was very uncomfortable. I felt like it might have made me gain some weight as well. And not to mention that my sex drive was definitely down. It was an effective BC, but the side effects that came with it were just not worth it."

For Birth Control "When I was 18, the first time I saw a gyno, she prescribed me Tri-Lo-Sprintec. She gave me a packet of Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo, which I think the pharmacist said was basically the same thing. For both, I had no problem. To start off, I never really had bad cramps or anything major, and I definitely didn't feel anything after starting birth control. After the price for Tri-Lo-Sprintec went up, I got off of it. I am about to go on Tri-Sprintec, which my doctor said is just a little higher dosage, so that's probably where all those other symptoms come from (nausea, mood swings, acne, weight gain). As for everyone else who has been experiencing these symptoms, they are also very common when you PMS, except for the nausea, but mainly I think it's psychological."
