For Birth Control "I had used BC before. I stopped it because I was not sexually active anymore. I got the TLS this time, and can definitely see a few side effects in these three weeks. From lack of appetite, mood swings (also an anxiety attack while taking a class, NOT GREAT AT ALL); zero sex drive and migraine. My period during the first week went full for five days and spotting a dark tone for a few days after, too. Which is very irregular in my case. Everyone's different, but I definitely don't see myself using them again."

For Birth Control "DO NOT TAKE THIS PILL!! I've been taking this pill for about 9 months ever since they switched me from Trinessa lo. At first, everything was fine, I had no side effects and no symptoms. But as of recently, in the past 3 months, I noticed I began to break out all over my face with cystic acne. (My face has been clear my whole life.) There's acne all over my cheeks, chin, and jawline, and it's not clearing up. Not to mention, I get migraines at least 5 out of the 7 days in the week. Bad cramps, excessive discharge, vaginal discomfort, and no sex drive whatsoever. I know everyone's body reacts differently, but I'm stopping this pill now before something worse happens, and I suggest you do the same."

For Birth Control "Like plenty of the ladies on this thread, I went to my Gyn for Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo-and my doctor informed me this was the same, never said it was a different type of pill, and like a moron, I believed him. I began taking this pill in March 2017-it's now 11/28/17 and ladies, let me tell you a story, I have had to go on Provera 2x to stop the excessive bleeding. So now, I am changing my Gyn to someone better and will likely need to go back on Provera to stop my period and go on something entirely new. I didn't even think about the damn headaches until I read through the comments because I too have had them, I've also had a low sex drive despite my husband & I always doing it, but my desire is not there. I have been very moody too. Issa no!"

For Birth Control "I have been on Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo for 6 months, and my doctor switched me to Tri-Lo-Sprintec due to insurance purposes (which is the generic version) (cheaper). I have no serious side effects with Ortho Tri… I normally don’t get bad side effects from any medicine. But after a month and a half of taking Tri-Lo-Sprintec, I've noticed depression, fatigue, crazy mood swings like NEVER BEFORE, dry mouth, decreased sex drive, nausea, sore breasts. I do not recommend this birth control to ANYONE! I have never experienced such severe side effects!!!"

For Birth Control "So, I was prescribed this birth control pill back in the middle of 2018. I was fine, everything felt normal, but then in March 2019, I had a HUGE panic attack out of nowhere. I really just felt horrible one day out of the blue and left work early. It got so bad that I actually called the ambulance (thought I was having a heart attack). Fast forward to now, August 2021…it has not been good. My anxiety after that panic attack was a journey, to say the least. I started to feel better after a whole year (then COVID happened), but luckily I had sort of managed my anxiety by then, however, it was still there. Other symptoms I’ve noticed are brain fog, decline in vision, high blood pressure, low sex drive, dizziness, and nausea. I am planning on stopping this pill this year and hoping that these symptoms fade away. It would prove to me that it was the pill that caused all of these symptoms because I never had felt this way before starting BP. For background, I was prescribed this medication for my PCOS."

For Birth Control "I have been taking this pill for three years now, my doctor switched me over to it from Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo due to the cost. At first, I really enjoyed this pill, no significant changes at all, no weight gain, no moodiness, no appetite change. Everything was fine. The last year and a half, I have noticed a difference, and I hate this pill now. It has decreased my sex drive to absolutely zero. I have been with my boyfriend for three and a half years, and I have no desire to do anything with him. It has made me miserable and extremely emotional all of the time. I feel depressed and get angry very easily. The only upside to this pill is that my period lasts for two days, and then it's over. I will be switching immediately, it's ruining my relationship."

For Birth Control "When I first started Tri-Lo-Sprintec, I was doing well on it. After the 2nd packet, I started to experience bad nausea and some diarrhea. It was very uncomfortable. I felt like it might have made me gain some weight as well. And not to mention that my sex drive was definitely down. It was an effective BC, but the side effects that came with it were just not worth it."

For Birth Control "I was switched to Tri-Lo-Sprintec after Ortho Tri Cyclen Lo was discontinued. The first few months on the birth control were fine. However, after about three months, I started consistently starting my period on the third week of the pack and had bad menstrual cramps. This is a triphasic pill, and I think the change in hormones at Week 3 caused the early periods. On this pill, I also had some depression and low sex drive; I don't think that this birth control was the only reason I had these other symptoms, but I do think it was a contributor. I am going to switch to the monophasic Sprintec to see if it helps with the early periods."

For Birth Control "I've been on Tri-Lo-Sprintec for about 6 months now. This method was recommended by my gyno for normal contraception but also for my cystic acne that was out of control. I would constantly have 4-5 painful bumps on my face, and they would take weeks to go away. When I first started this pill, I immediately noticed extreme mood swings. So extreme that I could acknowledge when I was going to blow up because my face would get really warm, and I would just flip out on my boyfriend. On top of my mood swings, I cramped a lot, and my sex drive was non-existent. I'm still on this method and still have bad mood swings - I think I've gotten used to just being grumpy. On a good note, my cystic acne is gone, it took 3-4 months."
