"I was put on this pill because I have no insurance and needed something to help with my heavy periods. Everything was fine for the first month and a half, and then halfway through my second pill pack, I started bleeding, and it lasted 17 days, stopped for 5, and started again! The day it started again, I switched to a new pill. Also, during those 17 days, I experienced the worst cramps I've ever had, was constantly nauseous, and had really bad mood swings. I don't know anyone that's had a good experience on this pill."

"I've been taking Sprintec for 3 months as prescribed after a surgical abortion as a birth control/period regulator. Before starting Sprintec, my periods were on time but extremely heavy. I had been on Lo Minastrin for a few years prior to starting Sprintec and had a ton of success with that, but my insurance stopped covering it, so I had to change prescriptions. I'm on my last few days of month 3, and I have been bleeding every day for the past two and a half months. It's beyond normal spotting - I use up a super plus tampon twice a day. On my normal periods, I use four to five super plus tampons. I thought something was very wrong with me, and I'm still going to see a doctor, but reading these reviews leads me to believe it's just a really horrible medication."

"I switched to this pill from Jolessa (Seasonale generic) because I was sick of the non-stop bleeding. Sprintec did stop the bleeding within two days or so, and I haven't had any problems with it for about two weeks. However, near the end of the second week, I had some spotting. I kept taking the pill at the same time every day, but all this did was make the bleeding worse. I've already ruined three pairs of underwear and one of my pajamas because this pill gave me the heaviest breakthrough bleed I have ever had. Every morning, I would wake up with excessive bleeding. It was that terrible and made me anxious every time I left the house that I would bleed through my clothes. I wish I had never taken this pill."

"I do not recommend Sprintec at all. I've been on it for 3-4 months, and I've gained 10 pounds (I eat well and exercise daily, so there is no other reason besides the pill). I've also been getting random bursts of nausea around the time of my period, as well as horrible mood swings. In the process of switching to another brand."

"So it has been a month, and I am on my 25th day. What I can say is, yes, it does control my period. My skin seems to be better than it was, although, my breasts are coming out of my bra, and nipples are extremely sensitive. I've managed to gain 7-10 lbs (I was also sick at home for two weeks and did nothing but stay in bed), but aside from that, my breasts were so sore. Today I woke up, and it seems like they had deflated overnight, although still slightly sore. Experiencing a headache that won't go away, but I'm assuming it's because of the period. Anyways, hoping the weight will drop and that it's all water or something."

"I took Sprintec for 3 months, and it was downright awful. I'm usually a pretty mellow person, and this pill made me so angry and depressed, I was constantly fighting with my family and angry at myself. It made my periods worse and gave me horrible cramping I've never experienced before in my life, and I had absolutely no sex drive. I stopped taking it and felt much better. I've been scared to try another birth control pill because of how I reacted to Sprintec, but I'm starting Tri-Lo Marzia now, and hopefully it works better for me. Hopefully, Sprintec works for someone else, but it did not work out for me."

"I've taken 3 weeks of this medication. I was prescribed this to regulate my periods as I was having light bleeding every 2-2.5 weeks for 4 months. The bleeding started again at 3 weeks instead of 2, so maybe it will get better if I take another month's worth, but I doubt it. I've always had a few acne spots, but since taking Sprintec, it's much worse and all over, including on my neck."

"So I’ve been taking this pill since I was 16, now I’m 18. I skipped one period last month. Now it’s February, and I’ve been bleeding for literally 2 weeks! I feel hopeless now, seeing the reviews. I know it’s the pill. How can I bleed for 14 days!"

"So it seems like everyone has this problem with Sprintec??? I've been on it for years, tried different pills for a bit, but realized Sprintec was the best. But the ONLY thing is the spotting!!!! It happens during the second week of the blue pills, usually on Saturday-ish, and lasts for a few days, but it’s super annoying when having sex, etc. I never have to wear a tampon or pad, but it’s always brown spotting, some months worse than others. HOWEVER, Sprintec keeps my weight manageable, skin clear, not depressed, legit no other side effects than annoying spotting every... single... month... but I’ll take it if that’s the only symptom?"

"I love this birth control! My mood has stabilized, and I am no longer a roller coaster of emotions, as I had been previously on other pills. My skin has also cleared up tremendously, and my breakouts don’t happen as frequently anymore. However, the one downfall that I’ve experienced is spotting almost every single day, which is a shame considering how much I love it."

"I started the pills because I have terrible periods (vomiting, diarrhea, headaches, and terrible cramps). The first month, I was so irritable, my mood changes were unbearable, I got sad, depressed, normal, extremely irritated. Now, in the second month, I have controlled the mood swings a little bit, but I'm very nauseous. I have never liked olives, but now if I'm even close to one, I want to vomit. I feel like I gained around 4-6 pounds. I gave it a 4 rating because even though it has side effects, it helped me tremendously with my menstruation. My periods are shorter, lighter, and not traumatic nor painful at all."

"Very good experience. I had tried many other pills, and this is the only one that doesn't upset my stomach. I was so happy about that because I have gastritis. Also, my mood stabilized, which was the main reason I was put on this medicine because I have extreme PMS. I gained 4 lbs the first 2 weeks, but I watched what I was eating and went back to normal weight. No extra pimples, some blood in the middle of the cycle, and tender breasts. Overall, good."

"I'm prone to very painful, heavy periods, and this birth control made them much lighter. My cramps were still bad, and my periods got longer (from 2-3 days to 4-5) but much lighter. The best thing about this medicine for me is that it's extremely easy to regulate when/if you get your period while taking it. I didn't experience any weight gain or unusual breakouts, and now, after 3 months of use, I'm noticing my skin is clearing up nicely. This is the only pill I've tried, but so far, I'm happy with it."

"My first time using this medicine, I took it on the first of my spotting, however, my period didn't come even after 10 days. I had even heavier bleeding than before, and my emotions were terrible, and I felt depressed during that week of taking this medicine. Eventually, I had to talk to my doctor and switch to another medicine."

"Another lovely review for Sprintec, though I know symptoms vary for everyone, resolving them is the problem that’s yet to be solved. I’ve been bleeding for over 4 weeks now, I’ve gotten dermatitis at the same time, and all I’ve been doing is healthy habits and Sprintec. Not only have I stopped taking it entirely 5 days ago, but the bleeding has now intensified. Waiting for my new prescription to stop the bleeding. Waiting for this pill to be canceled. Probably will have to see a dermatologist and OBGYN to fix both problems, can’t imagine what would’ve happened if I stayed on it. Symptoms have yet to subside, though, to this day. Wish I never started, wish the doctor that prescribed was more keen on the sensitivities I voiced earlier on."

"So I have been on Sprintec for 12 weeks. Always bled more frequently. Went to ER to find that my bleeding (darker reddish brown) of 18+ days is due to a uterine fibroid. 2.7 cm. I am a 'lucky one' to actually have fibroid symptoms besides the bleeding. After research, for one to grow to 3 cm (size of walnut), it is 10 weeks old. Now I'm not thinking it is a coincidence that it developed and grew once I started Sprintec. And it feeds on the hormones of birth control, especially estrogen. Don't wait... See a doctor and quit Sprintec!"

"I hate this pill! It doesn't work, and I wish I never took this pill! I was on this pill several years ago (7) after I had my second child. Switched to the NuvaRing, bled like crazy, switched to the shot, it was good until I bled like crazy, switched to another pill, bled like crazy, now this pill! I don't want to get off BC, but I need to get my body back on track! Don't use this pill."

"I have been on Sprintec for almost 3 months, and I hate it. My breasts feel like rocks or punching bags all the time. My period was almost a week late. Eventually, it started (my period), and now I'm still bleeding almost two weeks later with dryish blood clots. I'm scared this will trigger that thing that tampons do because they are dry and could get stuck, maybe I'm paranoid. But this pill makes me nauseous after about 22 hours after taking it, so I had to stop taking the pill in the morning. I'm switching as soon as I can!!! With PCOS, I've been freaked out with the long bleeding and dry blood clots."

"First time on Sprintec. I was previously on TriSprintec. First period being on this BC, and I have never had cramping so bad in my life. I am also bleeding heavier than I ever have. I am having to change my tampon every hour to hour and a half at this point. I will be stopping this BC immediately because of this."

"I have been taking Sprintec for a month now, and I’m getting like two periods in one month. It helped a lot with my acne, which is why my doctor prescribed it. I gained a few pounds, but not much. I just don’t like the irregular periods."

"I would just like to point out that I wasn't taking this birth control for protection while having sex. I am a lesbian. I was taking this medication to help with the severity of my periods. When I first started this BC, everything seemed great. This was my third time switching pills, so I thought I finally found one that was great. After three months, this was sadly not the case. I became very angry and furious at everything and everyone for no reason. This pill made me extremely depressed and anxious, so bad that I could barely sleep. I almost ended things with my spouse because I was so angry at her (for no reason). Cramps are horrific, and I thought I was going to have to go to the hospital. I am giving up on BC completely."

"I had an abortion in April 2017 and bled the way you should after an abortion, like having a baby. I was given this birth control due to no insurance and started taking it. I missed a period for a month, then my period came on, and I've been bleeding now for 16 days, and I have not stopped. This is the absolute worst. I am hoping my Medicaid kicks in so I can go back to NuvaRing."

"I was first on the Depo shot in August, and my ob-gyn said my period may not come at all. My period started 3 days after it was expected to hit; I bled for 9 days and 4 hours into the 10th day when I contacted my gyno for help. She put me on Sprintec; my period stopped but only for 12 days, then it started again. It got so bad I landed in the hospital with 4 points from a transfusion. This month I was 10 days late, and for the last 3 days I have been extremely light on bleeding, more like spotting, and it's not normal red blood, it's brown. This has me a little worried, but I will continue these pills to see if it gets any better."

"Do not try this birth control. I was put on the pill because I have godawful PMS, and when I started college, my hormones went crazy and I started getting my period every 2 weeks (can you imagine). I began to develop a very mild form of cystic acne on my cheeks, so my doctor decided to put me on Sprintec. While it did a great job regulating my cycle and lightening my period, it made me look like a monster... as in cystic acne all over my cheeks. I could barely stand to look in the mirror. Keep in mind prior to this year I had NEVER had acne in my life, not even 1-2 mild breakouts. So you can imagine my anxieties when every day, despite my best skin care efforts, I had painful cysts all over. I decided to take myself off the pill and my face gradually cleared, but unfortunately, I was left with horrible scarring (now being treated with Tretinoin), and I'm back to the 2-week cycle and horrible PMS. My doctor decided to switch me to Yaz, so I am hoping for the best!"

"I have taken Sprintec for 2 years with no side effects at all! I have tried others, and I found this to be the best one. I would recommend it if you need birth control and are concerned about side effects."
