For Birth Control "I started on this birth control when I was 18 and 9 years later I sadly need to switch due to a change in my insurance. It is SO expensive on a high deductible plan. But when I was on it, it really helped keep my cycle super regular, skin clear, and no weight gain. But with most pills, you cant miss a day or more, otherwise the nausea/cramps are out of control! "

For Birth Control "I've been on the pill a couple months now and love it. No weight gain, it has cleared up my skin, prevented pregnancy, regulated and lightened my periods. My only compliant is that I have no appetite at all and I'm constantly thirsty, which is annoying. Other than that, nothing but a positive experience all around and my skin has never looked more flawless!"

For Birth Control "I have been on the pill for two years. I must admit that things did start off a little rocky with the nausea, but it did begin to get better because I started taking the pill before bed. It has prevented pregnancy, helped me keep clear skin, and lightened my periods and lessen my cramps. Besides the nausea the pill is very effective and a good choice."

For Birth Control "I just started on my pills, I'm 37 yrs old. I experienced a headache for 1 day, and noticed that my taste buds are weird to certain junk foods. Other than that its great. As long as you drink a lot of water I believe everything will be fine. Everyone is different. My stomach did hurt in the beginning. I also noticed that when I try to swallow the pill it tends to sit in my throat for a while. Very hard to swallow."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I’ve only been on this birth control for 3 months, I’m constantly nauseated, my boobs are so sore, my moods swings are crazy, acne is AWFUL (I’ve always had super clear skin) my period stopped April 26th, I had been bleeding for 10 days straight, today is May 7th and it’s back again... something is just not right with this pill!!!!! I do not recommend to anyone"

For Birth Control "I have been on this Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo pill for a little over two years now and just stopped taking it...HUGE mistake on my part. I should have stopped taking this a VERY long time ago. I have been super depressive and cry over absolutely nothing ALL OF THE TIME! The mood swings are unlike anything I have every experience and I am usually happy go lucky. It has made me feel like I am not in control of my own emotions and absolutely crazy. I do NOT recommend this birth control."

For Birth Control "I was on Tri-cyclen Lo for five years, it was my first contraceptive and it was amazing. I had no side effects and I never got pregnant once. I did not gain weight and it did not affect me in any negative way possible. I recently switched to Alysena and so far it has been horrible. Recommend Tri-cyclen lo for anyone! It's a great contraceptive and 100% effective for me."

For Birth Control "A few friends reccomended this brand and said it did not give them any side effects. I was sold on that alone. A couple of weeks in, I started to get horrible cystic acne on my chin. I am prone to breakouts and have heard Ortho Tri Cyclen Lo helps CLEAR up skin...so I was confused about this side effect. Once the first cyst was gone, another one shortly came up. It was never ending. Started my second pack, The same thing happened again with the cystic acne. I almost wanted to get off the pill because of it. But I loved that I did not have any other side effects. No weight gain, no moodiness, and my sex drive actually increased. Finally, half way through my 3rd pack the cysts were gone. All in all, it's a great pill besides the cysts I got."

For Birth Control "I am always crying and moody (my poor boyfriend). Sometimes, it is never that serious and I would realize that the next day. I'm 21 and in college and that is stressful enough. I have my sex drive still intact, but I am always hungry (I've always been this way but know it is out of control)! I eat everything in sight. This is becoming really expensive for me and my boyfriend. Other than that I have regulated less painful periods, no bloating, and they are very on time. I like it because of the low hormone levels but I am emotional."

For Birth Control "I've been taking this birth control for three months now and I've gained 15lbs. I haven't changed my diet and I work out regularly, my acne has gotten worse and I'm depressed all the time, even my friends agree it's really affected my mood. I'm going to stop taking it now that I'm single, The only good thing was that it's very reliable for not getting pregnant or even pregnancy scares."

For Birth Control "After I noticed my Levora birth control was no longer helping my face stay clear of PMS-related acne, among other symptoms, I asked my doctor to switch me to a new birth control. She gave me Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo. I just started my second month on February 21st during the week of my period. My period came as a surprise because I had absolutely NO PMS symptoms. No breaking out, no migraines and no cramps. I have not experienced any side effects with this birth control, either. My doctor made an excellent choice for me. I hope my second month will be just as successful."

For Birth Control "I had tried so many birth controls when I was a teenager and they would make me bleed non stop, if I was on the pill I threw up like I was pregnant.. my body couldn't handle it. I am now 23 and I'm on ortho tri cyclen low and I absolutely love it. I haven't had a problem what so ever!!! My periods are right on time, VERY light bleeding (I use to have a heavy period), no cramping.. just a wonderful experience, I recommend this medication to anyone looking for birth control. I am about to get married and after I finish college we are going to try for a baby so I hope it does me just like it did for one of these ladies, she got pregnant right after she came off. I would recommend it to anyone.. if your having problems... try this birth control."

For Birth Control "I was on this medicine for about a year. I had weird side effects. But then I developed blood clots in my lungs (pulmonary emboli) that almost killed me. Dr's think that it was this pill that caused it. I now have lung damage."

For Birth Control "Pros: Didn't get pregnant, Acne became less severe, period was light and very predictable. Cons: Horrible headaches for 3 months in the beginning, weight gain, increased incidence of spider veins, mood swings Overall: It worked I did not get pregnant, However, the side effects worried/bothered me so I stopped taking it and have since gotten a prescription for a lower dose BC pill called Mircette."

For Birth Control "DO NOT recommend. I went from a happy, silly, chill, laid back girl to absolutely crazy. My mood swings are completely uncontrollable, I have the worst anxiety Ive ever had, I became depressed. This pill had me waking up in the middle of the night throwing up, constant panic attacks, and absolutely zero sex drive. I went to my OB and she suggested I stop. I stopped it last night, hoping to get back to my old self."

For Birth Control "I took Ortho Tri Cyclen Lo for a year and gained 15 lbs on my 5'1 normally 105 frame. I am 19 and run 50-70 miles a week for track and cross country. I knew there was something wrong, as before I would lose up to 10 lbs during the season. I told my doctor I thought the weight gain was due to the pills, but she insisted it wasn't. As soon as I got off of OTCL, (became single and didn't need it) I lost those 15 lbs in 3 weeks and shocked my doctor. The pill definitely can, and was, the reason for weight gain. At least I never became pregnant. I have switched to Apri since and I hope I don't go through the same again, anyone have any stories about their experiences with Apri?"

For Birth Control "I really like this medication.I dont really have any side effects on it. Of course with any birth control you feel slightly dizzy and tired when you first start taking it , But after a few weeks that wears off and my body adjusted. I switched from Aviane to this and Iam extremly satisfied!With Aviane I was depressed , confused easily and even my vision would get blurry and also sex drive was completly shot. With this medication though, I have no side effects and I am really happy :)Especially that I still have a sex drive on it..I have been on it one month."

"I've been on this for about 6 months and the first few months were great. I felt no difference after switching from a different pill. The last few months on the other hand have been terrible! I've been so moody (cry at the drop of a hat, always mad and irritated) and I've been having terrible cravings. I have also experienced in between periods spotting and general discomfort in my body."

For Birth Control "i tried it for two months and since day 1 I suffered from major mood swings and low energy. I had frequent headaches and just felt depressed. I never felt like myself. But I just thought I had to put up with it so my body can get use to it but I couldn't handle it by month 2. Just pay attention to how you feel. None the less I switched to another birth control pill. And feel great."

For Ovarian Cysts "I was on this pill for 5 years with absolutely no problems. My periods were on time, short and light. Also my ovarian cysts dissappeared. Then my doctor decided to change me to a different pill because she was worried about high blood pressure. On the new pill I've had constant spotting for the last 5 months and now I've had my period for the last 4 weeks. Ugh! Since my blood pressure monitoring came back normal, I finally convinced her to switch my pills again. Oh I wish she'd switch me back to Orhto Tri cyclen Lo, but she picked a new one instead. We'll see how that goes..."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I’ve taken this birth control for about 3 years. Up until recently it’s been great, I had practically zero side effects besides some mood changes which only lasted the first couple of months. It decreased my PMS symptoms and I never experienced spotting, weight gain, acne, etc. However for the past 3 months I have been spotting every single day nonstop despite taking my pill religiously at the same time every morning and never missing a pill for three whole years. Nothing has changed in my life or daily routine that would explain the spotting. I was hoping that this would blow over since this birth control has (overall) worked so well with my body, but unfortunately I’ve decided to switch birth controls as the spotting has become unbearable and is a hinderance in my everyday life and sex life."

For Birth Control "I have been taking this birth control for about 4 years now and I love it! It was my first birth control which I had received free from Planned Parenthood. I have had literally no side effects and my period is perfectly regulated each month. I would recommend this to anyone. Since its low estrogen I did not see increased breast size or decreased acne."

For Birth Control "I was on this pill for a little more than one year before I switched to an IUD (mirena) Pros: -regular, short, predictable periods with little to no PMS -clear skin -went up a cup size (B to C) Cons: -increased vaginal discharge and odor -weight gain (20lbs) with little to no change in diet/exercise -moodiness/days of low energy I might have stayed on this pill because of the regular periods and clear acne, but the weight gain made me self conscious and a break from daily pills (with IUD) was appealing."

For Birth Control "I struggled with symptoms of PMDD for a while and finally my doctor put me on Aviane to regulate my hormone levels and thus, mood. Aviane made my breasts larger but increased my acne and oily skin like crazy and made me more depressed and emotional! I normally have clear skin, so the acne was horrible for me. I asked to switch to Ortho-Tri Cyclen Lo. Since I've taken OTC-Lo (for 6 months), I've noticed my skin cleared up (although I still have minor acne compared to when I was off the pill), and it helped with my mood swings tremendously. Although a bit more pricey ($15 copay), I am very happy with the improvement in mood that OTC-Lo has given me, which is a much better gain compared to the minor acne I am still experiencing."
