For Birth Control "Terrible. I have PCOS and endometriosis, this is the third birth control I’ve tried and by far the worst. I’ve been on it for two packs now, my doctor wouldn’t let me be off of it after the first month. She wanted me to stick it out to see if my body would adapt to it, and it hasn’t at all. I have extremely heavy periods, which is saying a lot because I’ve always had super heavy periods naturally. Now it’s like something out of a horror movie. I get extremely nauseous and have migraine headaches frequently. On top of all this, I’ve been having problems with anxiety and depression, which I’ve never had before. This pill is toxic for me. Don’t take it."

For Birth Control "I've been taking this pill for months now, and I always feel dizzy and lightheaded in the mornings. I'm not sure if this is all just the pill, but I didn't start feeling this way until I got on it. I feel like throwing up. If I smell food, see food, or even try to eat it, I want to throw up so badly. Maybe I should eat when I take it? I'm not sure, but the feeling sucks so much because I'm in high school dealing with it. It lasts about an hour and a half, then I feel just fine. It stopped for about a week, and now it's back, and I sort of felt it all day."

For Birth Control "So I just started this birth control almost 2 weeks ago. I am 24, and this is my very first birth control I have ever used. I was prescribed this pill to help with PCOS symptoms. I read reviews before taking my first pill and was super scared. I was expecting to feel horrible. The first 4 days I felt nothing at all except extreme sleepiness, and my appetite has gone down some; the 5th day I had a horrible headache, dizziness, nausea, and I ended up sleeping it off. I pushed the time I take the pill to later evening because I have felt so sleepy since starting this medication. I don't really see it being listed as a side effect, and I'm not sure if anyone else has the same problem, but I am pretty positive it's the pill."

For Birth Control "I took this for about a month, and my body took it very well. The only downside was that I was nauseous after I'd take it to the point where I couldn’t function, and I’d have to lay down in order to settle myself. I had light periods before, and they did get heavier, but that’s no big deal since they weren’t horrible. Overall, it’s a fair medication, and I don’t see many things wrong with it."

For Birth Control "I've been on this pill since October. My reasoning for going on birth control was due to my irregular periods. I've had many side effects, such as nausea or throwing up. If I take my pill late that night and wake up for school the next morning, it's a given I'll throw up. If I accidentally forget to take a pill one night and take two the next night, I always throw up. The sickness has made me have four absentees from school. Besides the puking, it has made my periods regular! It is so nice to know when the flow is on its way!"

For Birth Control "I began taking Mononessa about three months ago. I didn't really experience any negative side effects, a few weird waves of nausea early on, but other than that, I felt really good on this pill. However, I had to switch to a different pill because after about a week or two on Mononessa, I began bleeding every single day. It dipped in and out of heavy bleeding, but was always heavier than typical spotting. And it happened every day for 2.5 months, until I switched. Which is disappointing, because otherwise, I experienced no ill side effects. I'll also mention that I suffered from incredibly bad acne a few years ago, and I was nervous that starting birth control would ruin my skin again. However, I noticed no changes to my skin on this pill."

For Birth Control "I've been taking the pill for 3-4 years now, and it had always given me weird side effects before my period that changed with each month. Some months I would experience cramps or breast tenderness that I never had before being on it. It also made me gain weight and increased my anxiety and depression. However, the past few months, my side effects have worsened just before my period. Depression and anxiety get really bad for 1-2 days, and I started vomiting. This month I couldn't even get out of bed, I experienced nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, back pain, dizziness, weakness."

For Birth Control "I've been taking it for a good while now, the first three months, I was dizzy, nauseous, and moody. But after those initial months, that has stopped. [Pros] I had bad acne, and it has helped clear it up. Periods are less painful. [Cons] I have gained a few pounds and am constantly craving food, my sex drive is substantially lower. May be trying another brand soon because of this. **I recommend setting an alarm on my phone to remember to take it, mine's for 10, that way if there's a chance I'll be out late, it's with me, and taking it won't interfere with my day-to-day activities.**"

For Endometriosis "This is my first time taking birth control, and I was a bit scared because looking at the reviews for Mononessa, a lot of people said it caused them unpleasing side effects. My doctor originally prescribed me something else, it's like 'Tri-Ortho' something like that, and the pharmacist gave me the generic version, Mononessa. I have been on it for 7 whole days, and the only side effect I have is on the first day I felt a tad bit nauseous, but that is all. No major mood swings, headaches, or vomiting like I've seen a lot of people write, but everyone is different. My experience has been good so far. Hopefully, it will stay like this. I am prone to feeling side effects to medication, and I am honestly surprised I didn't get any severe ones... yet."

For Birth Control "I have been on this pill for 4 or 5 years. I was put on it for irregular, severe periods. My periods came twice a month and sometimes not at all for 3 to 6 months, and they always lasted 8-10 days with severe cramps, large blood clots, severe mood swings, rendering me bedridden. The first month or so, I remember having some nausea, but I noticed for the first year a significant drop in my sex drive and depression issues, which I'm also prone to whether I'm on this pill or not. Doesn't really help my acne either. But as far as positive goes, my periods are way more bearable. 4-5 days, hardly any cramps, better moods, I haven't gotten pregnant, and I don't use condoms, I'm in a monogamous relationship. Overall, has it been good to me."

For Birth Control "Mononessa pill was a colossal waste of my time. I was prescribed this because I have low estrogen, have a really irregular period, and my doctor was concerned that it would affect my bones and put me at risk for osteoporosis. The first day of taking the pill, my stomach cramped, and I felt nauseous and bloated. Totally unlike me. This lasted each day around the time I took the pill. My skin started to break out around day 4 on my forehead, somewhere I haven’t gotten a pimple in 4 months. I knew something was off. I got small whiteheads around my mouth too. My body is completely rejecting this pill, so I stopped. Looking into ways to raise my estrogen naturally."

For Birth Control "I was on the Kireva birth control pill 3 years ago for 2 years straight and experienced no problems. I recently decided to go back on the pill but was suggested Mononessa by my doctor. The first week I was on the pill, I thought I was experiencing early pregnancy symptoms. Unbearable stomach/pelvic cramping to the point where I couldn't even sit up straight, headaches, complete loss of energy, crazy mood swings, loss of appetite/being disgusted by foods I normally love, and terrible nausea at all hours of the day, and very painful breast tenderness starting at the beginning of the 2nd week. I can't wait to get off of this. Ugh! 0/10"

For Birth Control "I am on day 7 and every day I've been sick to my stomach - pretty much every day and I've lost a pound a day. I've also been incredibly sad and have cried for no reason every day since being on it. I'm not sure what else to expect, but so far I'm not impressed. Well, the only thing that I do enjoy is that despite feeling down, my sex drive is still going strong. I go to my doctor tomorrow and we will see what else is in store. I just hate how emotional I am right now."

For Birth Control "I have been on this pill a little over a month now. This is the first birth control pill I've ever been on. So far, I think it's great! I have only mild symptoms from time to time such as nausea, but nothing horrible. My periods are definitely lighter, which is good because I used to have very heavy periods. I have noticed my sex drive go down, but not so far down that I have no desire. I just have significantly less desire. Since starting the pill, I haven't noticed any improvement in my skin, nor have I noticed any worsening of my acne. Also, I haven't noticed any changes in my mood, so that is also a plus! Overall, Mononessa is working for me due to the lighter pills, very mild side effects, and so far the effectiveness of preventing pregnancy!"

For Birth Control "I was most concerned about mood changes/depression when beginning this pill, as the last BC I was on built upon my already existing anxiety and depression. However, I just started my third pack, and it's helped my mood more than ruined it. That's not to say it's not without its obvious side effects - throughout the last two months I've experienced multiple side effects as my body adjusts to the hormones, albeit only for a few days to a week at most. Breast tenderness, cramps, headaches, dizziness, and even a two-week long period for the first two weeks. It seems like I'm finally experiencing the nausea side effect that almost everyone mentioned, but I somewhat expected it and it's not a huge deal."

For Birth Control "I started Mononessa after one injection of Depo, and I absolutely love this pill. My periods are so predictable in terms of heaviness and length. Cleared up my skin a lot. It's a pain to remember to take it every day, but I've only ever forgotten twice in my two years. Never had a pregnancy scare on it (knock on wood), and I haven't used any other method of BC since starting it, which is probably not recommended. I was nauseous for the first few months only after starting a new pack, but now I never am. The only thing is, I think it negatively affects my mood and sex drive. I'm currently considering a non-hormonal method to experience my natural hormones and moods for a change. It's hard to say good-bye to a BC that's been so good to me though."

For Birth Control "Mononessa. I was nauseated for the first two weeks of being on it. I've had on-and-off headaches since I've started and have been bloated for the past two months. My boyfriend says that I've been extra sensitive and my sex drive is gone. The only time I felt normal is when I was on my period and not taking the active pills. It did make my period shorter (3 days). Unfortunately, Mononessa is not for me. I gained 8 lbs since I've been on it and am an emotional wreck. I can't wait to see my gyno next week and switch it up."

For Birth Control "All I can say is terrible nausea! From my understanding, it's from the high estrogen levels. Hopefully, it doesn't last long. I hate feeling like this. I'm taking Mononessa to help balance the Nexplanon implant hormones I have running through my system before deciding whether or not to get it removed (have had the implant for 1 year now) (Mononessa 8 days now)."

For Birth Control "I have been on Mononessa since 6 weeks after I had my son in 2014. It was fine at first, up until about a year ago, everything started changing. My face was breaking out badly. My normal face wash wasn't working at all, in fact, it seemed to make it worse. My emotions are constantly screwed up, and I mean JACKED UP. I get upset at things I wouldn't normally be upset with, get mad about it even, and stay mad (that is not who I am!). I am nauseous 3 weeks out of the month, all day, every day, and I am so tired and exhausted and flat out dizzy that now I have to lay down when my husband gets home from work so he can hang out with our little guy. Normally, I would be up doing things, making food, cleaning, playing, etc. Going to the doctor to get a different type. Would like to be on Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo because I was on that for 12 years and it was great. I'm just a hot mess thanks to this pill. I never did get pregnant, so that's a plus."
