"I have been on this birth control, Mili, for less than 1 month. Week 1 was the hardest. I have been extremely depressed and depleted. I feel life is meaningless and am starting to question my beliefs and relationships. I have slept so much. I get home from work at 4 pm and don’t get out of bed until the next day. I have gained about 6 lbs. Not sure if it is from water weight or lack of energy to work out. Positives: not pregnant, my acne is starting to clear up. I feel the depression symptoms lightening, so will give it another month to see how my body adjusts and review again."

"I switched to the Mili pill after weeks of bleeding on Tri Sprintec. The switch did help regulate my periods, however, the entirety of the 3 months I was on it were literal hell. My sex drive has been demolished, and I am constantly on edge about everything. I became so overwhelmed and stressed out that it nearly ruined my relationship. Intense crying, screaming, and just general unhappiness, all of which would lessen on the off week during my period, so it took me a cycle or two to realize the hormones were the cause. I had been on Tri Sprintec for a year and a half before Mili and have never experienced such awful mood swings. I also gained 10-15 pounds rapidly within a month's time. That combined with the depressive episodes was bad for my self-esteem. This pill has made me want to stop my birth control journey entirely."

"I took this medicine for a few months and had the worst anxiety I have ever had - and I never had anxiety before taking this. It also made me extremely nauseous and feel like I was going to faint all the time. I wouldn’t recommend this medication to anyone. I’ve been off for 3 weeks and I am slowly starting to feel like myself again."

"Mili is not the worst birth control. With this birth control, my acne has cleared up a lot, but on the other hand, my cramps have been really bad. I’ve been having migraines, and I’m spotting every day. Nonstop for the past week, and it’s only my second week taking it. Definitely a no-go for me."

"Mixed feelings. It greatly improved my skin and didn't make me gain weight, which was great. However, it did not help my bleeding, by the 4th month, I had my period for 16 days. In addition, it made me feel anxious and not myself (as someone who doesn’t suffer from anxiety or depression, this was incredibly unusual). I noticed within the 2nd week of getting off of it, my sex drive increased."

"I only used Mili for just about two months, and I gained over 20 pounds. I had just switched from Sprintec, which helped me lose over 100 pounds the year prior. The mood swings and aches are terrible, if you are thinking about trying this, I suggest anything else. Cheap, though."

"I started Mili about 4-5 months ago. It has been the worst months of my life. I used to be on Previfem for 5 years, and they discontinued and switched me to Mili. I have always had slight anxiety but have never been truly depressed before until now. I had no idea it was related to the pill, but my boyfriend noticed that I had been acting differently, and so he found my BC and Googled it and told me that it had really bad reviews, with people often complaining about being irritable, anxious, and depressed. I was having trouble getting out of bed in the morning and was not able to get excited or happy about anything! I then realized that on my off week, when I have my period, I feel great and back to normal (because I am not receiving the dose of hormones that week). I finally made the connection after reading the reviews and called my pharmacist today to switch me to something else."

"I was on this pill for about 6 months. I was 16 when I first started taking it. It was alright at first, after I would take it I’d just get pretty sleepy and a little nauseous. It helped with my period cramps not being as bad and hardly there. My periods have always been extremely regular. I already have a short period, longest is 4 days. It made my period shorter than that but it caused me to spot in between my period and one month I skipped a period and some months I had it twice. I took it at 8 pm every day, I would be fine until the morning. I’d wake up and throw up for the first 30 minutes of being awake. I always felt weak and it made me hardly able to eat. It really took a toll on me as a person and made me super depressed. It’s been about 3 months being off and my body is finally getting back to normal. The one thing I would say it did help with was my cramps and I would have as bad PMS symptoms."

"Absolutely terrible. I started taking Mili to try to manage pain from endometriosis. The first 4 days were just fine, but on day 5 I woke up with such extreme pelvic pain I thought I would need to go to the ER. I continued taking the Mili and woke up every day for another 4 days with pain so extreme I wasn’t even able to get out of bed for 2 of those days and was very, very restricted for the other two days. I stopped taking it and within a day or two, I started feeling better. It was truly heartbreaking as this was the first birth control I’ve tried and now I’m terrified to try anything else."

"I was incredibly worried about starting this BC due to all the negative reviews. Like a lot of other people here, I got switched from Sprintec to Mili. I have been taking Sprintec for 10+ years, so I was leery about trying the generic brand, especially seeing everyone's bad experiences with it. I am pleasantly surprised with Mili. I have had NONE of the bad side effects aside from a bit of manageable acne. I think Mili has actually improved my mood - my depression is doing much better on this BC than on Sprintec. Everyone is different, of course, but Mili has been working out great for me."

"I had been on Tri-Sprintec for years for acne that was outrageous! Never wanted to go out, etc. Recently switched to this so I could have consistent pills (not fluctuations like most) and go without a period for 3 months. Welp, I've been fatigued, extremely hungry, more irritable and sad than normal, weight fluctuations, waking up super weighed down there and spotting/light bleeding! First month was fine, but I got annoyed when I had to start wearing panty liners, and it was enough to mess up my shorts. BC works great for some and terrible for others... I'm going back to my OBGYN next week."

"This is the worst experience I've ever had with a birth control, or any medicine for that matter. I've been on it for two weeks, and it's making me miserable. I haven't eaten in 3 days because the nausea is so severe. Cold water is the only thing I can even think about keeping down. I've become very depressed and am much more anxious than I was before. I've had these problems in the past, but they were well controlled, and this medicine has set me back. I've stopped taking the pills and cannot wait for it to fully leave my body."

"The first night I took this birth control, I threw up, but my body was just adjusting, and that was expected. The more you eat with it, the better you will feel, for me, that's how it was at least. I became a bit more emotional in the couple of weeks after I started it, but that went down with time. Overall, I think it's about as good as birth control can be."

"My 17-year-old daughter was switched from Sprintec to Mili by the pharmacist, who said Sprintec is no longer available, but assured us Mili is the same thing, just a different manufacturer. She broke out in cystic acne all over her face and chin. It is horrible - the worst acne I have ever seen. Took her dermatologist, who threw an oral antibiotic and cream at it. Just saw these reviews... yah, appointment with the doctor tomorrow. No more Mili. Oh my goodness, if I could post a before Mili and after Mili picture of my beautiful daughter - no one would ever take this medicine. My poor baby girl. This drug should be taken off the market immediately!"

"This birth control is terrible. I was switched from Sprintec after taking it for 6 years, and I’ve been on Mili for 3 months, and I’m miserable. Random cramping throughout the month, irregular periods, bloating like crazy, and breaking out like crazy! I haven’t had acne for about 4 years, and now I’m breaking out bad. I do not recommend this birth control at all. I will be calling my doctor immediately."

"I've been taking Mili for almost a month now. I've not had much adverse effect from this pill. In the 2nd and 3rd week, I developed breast tenderness, also accompanied by regular cramping. No emotional changes. I am thinking it is my body adjusting to the cycle of these pills. I am hoping the next 2 months my body will adjust to these or I will switch out for something different."

"Never had any crazy side effects from this, no bleeding, no spotting, but I would get more of an increased appetite which is helpful for someone like myself taking Adderall. It helps balance out my hunger because Adderall makes you not hungry, and this birth control does give me that appetite I need. I have taken it for years. 2 months ago I had refilled my Mili tablets online, however, instead of giving me my regular Mili tablets that I am used to, Walgreens has instead decided to give me another birth control for my refill called ESTARYLLA. Since taking this new birth control I HATE it! Now I’m spotty, and I’m not hungry now even without taking Adderall. I have absolutely no appetite, so now I am on here reviewing this birth control because it makes me realize how grateful I am for what Mili tablets have done for me throughout the years compared to this new birth control! With Mili tablets, the PROS are I have not had really any bad side effects, the pill is small, so it’s easy to swallow."

"I was on Sprintec for 5 years until this shortage, so my pharmacist switched me to Mili 2 months ago. If anything, my side effects from Sprintec have gone down. I haven't experienced any of the side effects listed other than more bloating than usual. My food cravings went away (used to have terrible ones on Sprintec), so that's a plus."

"I was originally on Sprintec for almost a year when I was abruptly switched to Estarylla by my pharmacy for a month and then to Mili, which I have been taking for the past 3 months or so. I was worried that these switches would cause me to have bad side effects since I had nausea and breast pain when I first started Sprintec, however, I couldn't even tell that I had switched medications. I have occasionally spotted, mostly right before or after my placebo week, but that happened on my other birth control pills as well. I haven't attempted to skip a period because of the spotting, but overall, I have no complaints about Mili, and the transition between birth control pills was not bad at all."

"I had been taking Sprintec for 4 months, and on month 5, was given Mili by my pharmacy since they are technically the same. I am now on week 3 of my pack, and my stomach has never looked so big! In the morning, before I even have a bite of food, my stomach is so tender and bloated, and I definitely think it's because of Mili. I do not think it has changed my mood at all, which is great... but I can't seem to wear anything but sweatpants, which is a huge problem."

"I have been taking Mili for almost a month now. I have had no severe side effects. The only thing I’ve had is I’ve been spotting since I started. However, this is my first time ever using birth control. Spotting is normal when you’re getting used to birth control. Other than that, there have been no changes to my daily life whatsoever. I would recommend Mili."

"I was switched from Sprintec to Mili and just realized today that Mili is causing the many issues I've been experiencing over the last couple of months. I never thought to look at the reviews. I am almost finished with my third pack. Irregular bleeding and spotting, then having a large breakthrough period when it wasn't the right time to have one. Random nausea and fullness. I haven't had acne since I was a teenager and have been experiencing awful skin for the last couple of months. Mood swings, easily tearful (very abnormal for me). I feel exhausted most of the time and experience headaches regularly. I've never written a medication review, but all of these things have happened since starting Mili and have gotten worse, not better, since continuing to take it."

"Like many other recent reviewers, I was switched from Sprintec to Mili when my pharmacy ran out of Sprintec. I've never had any issues with Sprintec (I've taken it for four years). After I started taking Mili, I made it a total of 4 days before I called the pharmacy and begged them to switch me back. I started the first pack of Mili on Sunday night, and by the next morning, I was experiencing severe waves of nausea and a headache. Every day until I switched back to Sprintec, I felt incredibly nauseous and would waver between extreme hunger and having no appetite due to the nausea. I definitely would not recommend this as an alternative to Sprintec--or at all."

"My doctor switched me to this birth control from Norethindrone because he said Mili tablets work better. I was taking Mili tablets for 3 months and it started causing me to break out on my forehead really bad. I'm 39 years old and don't get acne anymore, but this caused raised red bumps primarily on my forehead. I stopped taking them and my acne cleared up. No other side effects, except for that. I am sexually active and it helped prevent pregnancy, but I'm switching my birth control to something I know has worked for me before."

"I have been on this pill for almost 4 years, but last year I got on the depo shot, and it was the worst thing ever for me. I have never experienced anything like it, my stomach would always hurt me so bad, my headaches were through the roof, and random periods and weight gain. I was 148 when I started getting it, and now 184. It also made me very, very lazy and not want to get out of the house! But I switched back to Mili birth control in January 2022, and it has been the best thing for me. No trouble, no weight gain, helped my acne, want to go outside a lot more, enjoy it. I recommend Mili!"
