"I'm on Mono-Linyah, and I have a love-hate relationship. I've been on it for a month, and my 32A breasts are now 32B breasts. I'm underweight and struggle with weight gain, but this pill has helped me put on pounds. I'm hungry a lot, lol. My skin is totally clear, not even any blackheads, which is great. But my mood swings are extreme. On the active pill, it's bad, but I can handle it, but on the last week (period week), it's awful. I cry several times a day and can't get a hold of myself no matter what I do. My period was heavier than ever, and I cramped horribly. But it was short. I find it hard to concentrate due to mood swings, but I just drink some herbal tea and am usually fine afterward. Love/hate relationship."

"So I've been on Tri-Nessa for almost 2 months, and each time I start a new pack I get bad stomach pains, and then on week 2 everything is back to normal. Since I've been on it, I vomited twice, and anytime I eat something, my stomach feels empty, even though I ate a lot. My periods have been coming on time, and my face is clearing. My only problem is the bad stomach pains."

"I have been using Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo for 6 years now, and I have always absolutely loved it! I never experienced weight gain, acne, mood swings, and my period is every fourth Wednesday. I have no complaints. It is the perfect birth control for me."

"This is my first time on any kind of BC, and I can certainly say that I've had a positive experience with Mili. Most of the negative reviews seem to be from those who've switched from Sprintec, and it makes sense that switching medications would throw your body off track. However, as someone who's taken Mili for over a year now, my acne has cleared and my period has significantly shortened (which is why I started taking it due to my heavy flows). These side effects took only about a month to kick in. My weight has stayed the same even after a year, and I don't experience many mood swings. I'm also someone who often got headaches, but the frequency of headaches now has been reduced too. Mili has been working great during the entire time I've been taking it."

"Do not take Sprintec. I've been on it for two weeks, and I'm quitting already. This medicine makes me extremely nauseous and gave me prolonged headaches. On top of that, it made my face break out horribly, and I've gained 7 pounds. No, just no. Take a hard pass on this one and try something else."

"I haven't gotten pregnant on this pill, hence, I gave it a 10 for effectiveness. I have been on it for 6 months. I have gained 27 lbs on my 5-foot frame. Month one, I started noticing a decline in my sex drive. My flawless face became a pepperoni pizza. Still didn't get off the pill. The last couple of weeks, I started having this feeling of not wanting to do anything anymore. Did not want to work, nor go to school, and started doubting my feelings for my boyfriend. I started crying like a crazy person. It was just hard for me to get up. I was sleepy all the time. I am getting off this."

"This is a great birth control and also has a couple of bad side effects. I possibly have arthritis in my knee, I only noticed shortly after starting this pill. I'm going to the doctor in a couple of days to find out what is actually wrong, so this pill might not have anything to do with it. The worst side effect is I cry and get upset almost every day. I have extreme mood swings, however, my body and face are beautiful and better than ever. My sex drive is pretty high and great for me. My breasts look fantastic, they have grown at least 1 cup size. I don't think I've had weight gain. I have a small flat belly and have only gained weight in the parts a girl would want. My boyfriend loves my body more than ever!"

"This was the first birth control I have been on, and I love it. I have been on it for 6 months now, and the only side effect I have had was a little bit of weight gain. It is only 7 lbs, and I would bet quite a bit that it is all in my breasts. I went from a 34D to a 34DDD. Other than that, I have had no other side effects. My fiancé and I both agree that my sex drive has increased tremendously since I started taking Sprintec. This was just how it affected me."

"So far I've had it for 3 1/2 months. I truthfully have found it very nice. I haven't gained any weight, have a normal appetite, and my acne has slowly but healthily improved. I do keep a good diet and consistently exercise. I am highly sexually active and don't use condoms. My partner pulls out so I haven't had any problems. I'm still a little scared for them to finish while inside so I can't add my input on that. My mood hasn't drastically changed, however, my first period since starting it lasted 10 days, when normally it's only 6 days. At my 3-month mark, I've gone down to 8 days, but hopefully, it continues to go down each period until it returns to its normal length. My period is very heavy the first few days but overnight will switch to very light, which is kinda odd. Overall, I recommend it for people who are scared of weight gain and want it to get rid of cramps and acne!"

"I’ve never left a review for anything before. Not a movie, nor a restaurant, nothing. This birth control is THE WORST. After being on Mononessa for a couple of years and having no issues, Walgreens changed the prescription to Sprintec (also no problems) and then to this Estarylla poison. I’m 18, almost 19, an extremely happy, healthy, active, hardworking person. Estarylla has completely demolished my self-esteem, leaving me in a weird, depressed, anxiety-ridden state for the one and a half months I’ve been taking it. I’ve been feeling like I’m in this weird, dreamlike state for the past few weeks and was so relieved to hear that other people on this medication have felt the same way. I’ve not had the motivation to get work done or socialize due to the extreme mood swings, depression, and fatigue that Estarylla causes. Please, please don’t take Estarylla. For the sake of your mental and physical health."

"First off, everyone's body is different and there's no way to know what yours is going to do. That being said, I was put on this birth control after having severe anxiety and depression (which I had never experienced before) on a previous birth control. I have had absolutely zero side effects with this one. Plus, my boobs got a size bigger, which is a plus."

"There are so many mixed reviews for this product, and honestly, you can't just go by what some of them say. Everyone's body is different and will react differently to medications. I've never had a problem with Sprintec, but others may. It's completely up to your body as to how it will react with the medication. It's fine to start out with it first since it is the cheapest birth control, and if it doesn't work for you... switch."

"I've been on Tri-Lo Marzia for a bit over 3 months. I read these reviews before starting, and the bad ones really outnumbered the good ones — they scared me. The side effects turned out to be better than I expected. I had cramps on my first week of starting the pill that were otherworldly. I spent the week doubled over in pain. Periods since then have been lighter but last longer. My boobs grew immediately - like a second puberty or a natural boob job. Sounds silly, but they've made me feel more womanly/powerful. My acne got a bit worse, covering my chin and cheeks faintly. Not much effect on weight/sex drive. The worst thing is mental health; I'm extremely sensitive, my weeks are emotional rollercoasters. I have depressive episodes similar to when I was in my darkest place. It's hard to point fingers straight at the pill, but I know myself, and I know that I'm not currently myself. Probably going to stay on, though. The pros kinda outweigh the cons :/"

"My pharmacy ran out of Sprintec, so I tried Mili. The first two days I had cramps that felt like some food poisoning. I felt weak and non-motivated. I couldn’t even wear my contacts, and I kept drinking water. The worst was the migraines on days 5 and 6. I started breaking out (my skin never does). I started getting strange hot flashes and also chills. I even started sneezing, and I’m someone who never sneezes. I started to wonder why I was so bloated. I knew it was the medication after 6 days. The sixth day was the worst: the headache wouldn’t subside. I cleared my throat over 40 times in the last few days. I felt like I couldn’t even speak because the headache was so bad, like pounding on the sides of my head."

"I have been on Sprintec for almost 6 months now. I am 20 years old and had been on the NuvaRing since I was 16 and loved it until I had an injury that required I take the ring out. The first 2 months of the pill, I had absolutely no side effects whatsoever. I felt exactly the same as I did on the NuvaRing. At 3 months, however, my breasts have increased an entire cup size and are very sore all of the time. This is the only side effect I am experiencing. I take my pill at 9 pm each night. I have not experienced any weight gain."

"I was on Sprintec for 3 years. I had no major side effects, I thought, until recently I stopped taking it so my husband and I can start trying for a baby. About a week and a half off the pill, my sex drive skyrocketed! Now I'm realizing that the hormones were suppressing my sex drive. Anyone else had this happen to them?"

"Never experienced any bad side effects from Mono-Linyah, and tada I’m not pregnant. Ladies, remember that not all hormonal birth controls will work the same for everyone, so don’t take the severely negative comments too strongly."

"I've been taking this birth control for four years, and I started taking it when I was 16. It was my first brand of birth control, and I plan to stick with it until I want to start trying for children. I have never had much of an acne problem, but with this pill, my face is always clear. I never had any of the nausea others have written about. I do have to agree that, like others, my cup size has grown over time, and I am pleased! As far as weight goes, I don't believe this pill has changed me at all. I have stayed the same weight since high school. My hormones are crazy only the week before my period. Overall, this is a great medication for some and a not-so-great medication for others. I would not blow it off right away. I would give it a shot."

"I have been on Mili for the past 2 months, and I highly recommend it. I’ve never been on any birth control prior to this. I was initially prescribed Sprintec, but the pharmacy didn’t have it, so they gave me Mili instead. That was nerve-racking for me, as I didn’t know what the difference was and found mainly negative reviews about Mili. That being said, I have noticed no side effects whatsoever on it the past 2 months and have had no problem as far as taking it every day. It does the job and seems to work very well for me."

"Amazing birth control. Helped me lose close to 20 pounds after switching from another birth control. I'm not moody, depressed, my skin looks amazing. It doesn't cause water retention or strange, strong cravings. Highly recommend it."

"I'm 19, and after a very poor experience with the birth control Beyaz, I was switched to Tri-Sprintec. After several months, my cramps have decreased in pain and my acne that I have struggled with for over 5 years is almost completely gone! I am amazed! Haha. PLEASE, don't read reviews on the internet for a specific birth control and assume that will be your experience. Your hormones and needs are very unique, and it may take a few switches to fully figure out which brand is meant for you. I spent countless hours stressing over reviews/etc when I really just needed to try and see what happened. Birth control is complicated and will not affect any two women the same way. Listen to your doctor and trust what they say!"

"Today is my 8th day of taking Tri-Sprintec. Let me start off by saying it’s been 7 years since I’ve been on any type of birth control. I’m 31 and have two daughters, ages 6 and 2. I decided to start taking the pill again to regulate my periods and, obviously, as a contraceptive. I originally came here for the reviews on the pill’s weight gain, since I’ve been pretty bloated the last 5 days (not to mention the miserable constipation and cramping). Other than that, I used to suffer from daily headaches/occasional migraines, and I haven’t had one as of yet! My husband says he’s noticed my mood has changed for the better! My random mood swings are no more, but honestly, my headaches were the main reason for my misery. My skin has cleared up dramatically, and I haven’t been drowsy or exhausted during the day like I used to. Overall, I’d say so far, so good! I’ll post an update after I finish my 30-day pack. Lastly, I want to add I take it right before bed to avoid any nausea."

"I've been taking Mononessa since January 2013 and have had a really good experience. No weight gain, no hormonal changes, no unexpected pregnancies! If I ever had side effects, it was within the first month of taking the pills just because my body was adjusting to them. But ever since, my period has been extremely consistent and gotten a lot lighter (which is nice!). I honestly just have no complaints. Also, with a committed partner, it has been totally safe to have sex without a condom (if you're wondering about that kind of thing). I've never had a scare or anything with this birth control -- it's been super effective. Overall, it's just a great product. Love it. Also, shout out to Obamacare for covering my birth control!"

"I must admit that some of the things that people experience from this pill are scary. One thing to know is just because they have this experience doesn't mean you will. Always try it yourself. Different bodies have different reactions. I have been on this birth control for about 4 months now, and I love it. I don't have mood swings at all, I am very calm at all times. I did not used to be. I don't have vaginal dryness, yeast infections, UTIs, or anything else that people are saying besides breast tenderness. It only seems to be tender at night. I have not gained any weight. I think my breasts are getting bigger, which is a plus to me. I don't have acne like I used to. My periods are very light now."

"I have been on Ortho Cyclen for a few months, and my periods have finally regulated. The only difference in my body image is that I have gained a cup size, and my butt has gotten bigger, but my weight is the same, so I have no problem with that!"
