Tri-Sprintec (ethinyl estradiol / norgestimate) "I began taking this for my period, which was really heavy and came with terrible cramps. While I was on it, I experienced terrible cramps. I have genetically good skin, but this medication gave me the worst acne of my life. It was embarrassing, not to mention painful. It also made me incredibly depressed, and I’d find myself cancelling plans with some of my favorite people to stay home and cry. I have decided to go off of it, and I am very excited to get back to normal. Based on other reviews I have read, many women have gone through similar experiences to mine."

Sprintec (ethinyl estradiol / norgestimate) "I been on these Sprintec pills since April, I have fibroids and I have now been bleeding since June 14 2019 and the doctors are doing nothing about it. Doing research on birth control I have found they can make the tumors grow faster, mine have and I been bleeding for too long and still bleeding as I type. I need help..I am already struggling financially and spending money on something that's not helping is very depressing."

Tri-Sprintec (ethinyl estradiol / norgestimate) "I'm 16, almost 17 and I went on this because I had really heavy periods with bad cramps and would pass out regularly. I've been on this for a little over two weeks and my period hasn't stopped. It was heavy for the first four days and then it became really light. For the last week it's almost like spotting, which has never happened to me before. My breasts hurt really bad. I'm not sure if I've gained or lost weight, because I started dieting right before I went on the pill. So far, I hate the pill, but it's only been a month. I'm hoping the next months will be better than this one."

Estarylla (ethinyl estradiol / norgestimate) "Insurance wouldn't cover the usual so I was given this one. Well only one week and I feel crazed. Heart rate off, breathing labored, sweats, fatigued but can't sleep, super restless. And on day 7 I said - its this pill. Mind you also bleeding on it. Never have I ever had side effects from birth control but this one makes me just feel off. Looked up anxiety and boom all my symptoms. This pill made me super anxious. I am done. No more for me."

Mononessa (ethinyl estradiol / norgestimate) "Before Mononessa I tried 4 different birth controls (can't remember the names) but all of them gave me bleeding constantly, it was horrible. Finally I tried Mononessa. It's helped so much, my periods are much lighter, no more acne, and I didn't experience any weight gain like the other reviews I have read. Also it is a lot cheaper. This pill is the one I've been needing."

Tri-Sprintec (ethinyl estradiol / norgestimate) "I'm 21 and got on tri- sprintec due to not having a period and PCOS. First day taking it just felt mild nausea. Second day I had body aches (as if I have a cold), weakness, bad nausea (but never threw up), headaches, and was not myself. Called to see if I can try a different birth control. The nurse just told me to stop taking it."

Estarylla (ethinyl estradiol / norgestimate) "I was on this birth control for just one month. When I reached the final week of pills, my period was so heavy that I went through a super tampon almost ever 2 hours. Around the third day of this, I experienced abdominal pain so awful that I couldn't sleep. I ended up going to the hospital because I was passing large clots and I couldn't stand up without feeling extremely dizzy. This is was the first birth control I ever tried and needless to say, it was not a present experience."

Ortho Tri-Cyclen (ethinyl estradiol / norgestimate) "Last year or so I was having constant spotting and so I went to the Dr. and was put on different birth control pills, none of which helped with the spotting until this one. I've had no spotting whatsoever on this one and I've been on it for 9 months or so and my periods only last about 3-4 days which is nice. I've also stopped getting bad cramps which were horrendous prior to birth control. My acne has cleared up expect for the occasional spot but only once a month or so. I have not experienced any weight gain either, however I do notice some slight mood changes but it's nothing that is uncontrollable. I would recommend."

Tri-Sprintec (ethinyl estradiol / norgestimate) "I was prescribed Tri Sprintec because I was having extremely long periods that lasted up to a month. It stopped my period immediately and I only had abnormal bleeding outside of the placebo week during the first month that I used it. However, I really don't believe that it's worth the side effects. I started getting acne when my skin has always been very clear. My skin has become incredibly sensitive to new products (and even some products that I've used for over a year with no issue). My periods have become regular, but I now get intense cramping during the whole week. Worst of all, though, is that I have become severely emotionally unstable. In between the depression spells and intense anger, I become manic. I am a teenager and I've gotten mood swings before, but never like this. It's almost unbearable. I plan on talking to my doctor soon so that I can find a different pill that works better for my needs."

Sprintec (ethinyl estradiol / norgestimate) "I have been on Sprintec for about 3 years now and I can only say that I had problems for the first month of using it. During that month I had terrible mood swings and was very irritable and depressed, but I adjusted soon after. My breasts have grown, my period has regulated completely, and my skin is almost always clear. It's a dream pill."

Tri-Sprintec (ethinyl estradiol / norgestimate) "So my gyno put me on this birth control pill for my irregular periods. I’m about to start month 3 & I’m impressed! At 1st I was VERY scared to try the pill because of the negative reviews but I gave it shot & monitored my lifestyle closely. My 1st 3 weeks on the pill weren’t terrible but I did experience a couple negative but minor side effects. I had a couple nights were I felt nauseous after taking the pill & on a few occasions a headache but nothing I couldn’t handle. I noticed I had some weight gain in my waist line so I watched my food intake & upped my work outs slightly & that took care of it. I’ve stayed at 133 lbs. I’m at month 3 & everything is totally normal! No depression, no insomnia & no weight gain (thank goodness) & it’s cleared up my face! I personally love this pill but I 100% agree that every woman may have different reactions. Also, it’s SO affordable & that’s a big plus because I don’t have insurance."

Tri-Sprintec (ethinyl estradiol / norgestimate) "I started taking these after being hospitalized and given blood transfusions and iron. They recommended this and said it would help me. The first two weeks it did help a little. The third week is when everything started to change. I realized I had no energy to get out of bed. Simple things like brushing my teeth or taking a shower felt like the hardest things to do. I didn't want anyone to talk to me. I lost interest in my favorite tv shows and other things I always used to enjoy. My hair started falling out and I was always nauseous. I wouldn't eat ANYTHING! I started having heart palpitations and walking from one room to the next made me fatigued and dizzy. My body began to shut down. I do not recommend!!!"

Mononessa (ethinyl estradiol / norgestimate) "I have had the worst periods ever since I started at 13. Extremely heavy, full of huge clots, very long, and very painful. I am now 21 and finally found something that helps so far. Just finishing up my first month of it and my period was only a week long (mine usually last 3 months ). I'm still having a lot of pain which used to signal me that a clot was coming down but I haven't had any clots. Only side effect I'm having is the moodiness. So happy with this medication so far!"

Tri-Sprintec (ethinyl estradiol / norgestimate) "In the beginning it worked fine, I was switched to it because Ortho Tri-cyclen was getting costly and some of the other genetics were making me constipated. . .joy. Anyways I have been on Tri-Sprintec for almost a year and it doesn't regulate my periods in fact I seem to be getting periods whenever the heck it please and they last forever. My normal cycle is 3 days and I always knew by Thursday of the sugar pills it was coming but this pill just doesn't seem to be working. On top of that I'm always nauseated, sometimes I get extremely depressed for no reason. I have panic attacks and just feel horrible at the most random times. I can't wait to switch."

Sprintec (ethinyl estradiol / norgestimate) "I'm on my 3rd month and I ONLY take this for regulating my period and the symptoms of it. The first month, my breasts hurt terribly. I had to give up running for a while because I could not handle it. That's been the only major side effect I've had beside I get more breaks out. (And they were hardly noticable) My periods are lighter, cramps are lighter. I use to cramp 4 days before and then during half the period duration, I just cramp maybe the first 1 or 2 days of period now. Weight has only decreased, no increased appetite. Im very happy with it so far! %u263A"

Estarylla (ethinyl estradiol / norgestimate) "I started Estarylla 3 months ago due to prolonged bleeding caused by my previous pill. Estarylla stopped my month and half long period almost immediately. Unfortunately, this is only good thing that I've found since being on the pill. I have severe nausea and vomiting weekly, loss of appetite, extremely sore, swelling breasts but no change in size, spotting, heavy bloating and MOOD SWINGS. Little things seem to make me irritated and angry. It seems like the side effects are beginning to die down going into the 4 month but it's hard to tell. The only reason it has 3 stars is because it stopped my prolonged bleeding and I'm not pregnant. I will not continue use if my body doesn't adjust soon."

Ortho Tri-Cyclen (ethinyl estradiol / norgestimate) "While I was on Ortho Tri Cyclen, I was hospitalized. I came very close to needing a blood transfusion. Halfway through a pack, I started to bleed heavily. I went to the ER and had ultrasounds done to be sure I wasn't having a miscarriage or cyst rupture. It was explained to me that the added hormones were not balancing well, which was causing one to crash and cause heavy bleeding. I was immediately taken off of birth control. I won't ever try it again. It was a very scary experience."

Sprintec (ethinyl estradiol / norgestimate) "I've been taking Sprintec for years - when I lost my health insurance, it was cheap, and was a mono-phase pill that I could take continuously, and it's been the best pill I've tried for cramps and lighter/shorter periods. I use it to control my polycystic ovarian syndrome (it's a low-androgen pill that helps control my PCOS-raised testosterone levels). If it impacts T levels too far it can lower the sex drive too much for some people - for me, it removed the worst aspects of having naturally high T-levels and put me into 'normal' range though. Including "balancing" my sex drive and clearing up my acne. I also use this pill continuously (4 period/year) to minimize pre-menstrual and menstrual migraines - "yay" I get both types. No period=no hormonal migraines."

Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo (ethinyl estradiol / norgestimate) "I’ve taken this birth control for about 3 years. Up until recently it’s been great, I had practically zero side effects besides some mood changes which only lasted the first couple of months. It decreased my PMS symptoms and I never experienced spotting, weight gain, acne, etc. However for the past 3 months I have been spotting every single day nonstop despite taking my pill religiously at the same time every morning and never missing a pill for three whole years. Nothing has changed in my life or daily routine that would explain the spotting. I was hoping that this would blow over since this birth control has (overall) worked so well with my body, but unfortunately I’ve decided to switch birth controls as the spotting has become unbearable and is a hinderance in my everyday life and sex life."

Tri-Sprintec (ethinyl estradiol / norgestimate) "I have had irregular periods but recently in May, I had a period for about 3 weeks and I was tired of it. So I went to the doctor and was told Tri-Sprintec would help, I started taking it the beginning of June and have been on it for almost a month now. With no luck, I’m still bleeding constantly. I continued the pill to see if the bleeding would eventually stop but unfortunately it hasn’t. During the first week I received loss of appetite, extreme anxiety, night sweats, depression and nausea, and the side effects still occur. I’m going to finish the pack bc hopefully I’ll receive some luck but I do not plan to continue this pill after this first pack."

Estarylla (ethinyl estradiol / norgestimate) "This is supposed to be my second month on Estarylla, after not taking birth control for over 8 years. I’ve never experienced mood swings (although I’m naturally moody) on any birth control until now. Estarylla has made me so depressed, I constantly had headaches (and I very rarely get headaches), and the bleeding this month was insane. I was passing blood clots the size of my fist and went to the ER because I was so worried. They said everything was fine and I wasn’t prescribed anything to stop or slow the bleeding.... but I know that this isn’t normal. Gonna find a new birth control because Estarylla is not the answer FOR ME. I started taking because I was having bleeding between periods for a few months, and I wanted to be more regular. This did regulate cycle but I’d rather be irregular than have the massive amount of bleeding that I did on my cycle."

I have had breakthrough spotting the entire time and fourth week period came but lighter than usual. Loss of appetite extreme. I’m never hungry. It’s kinda scary how much I don’t eat and really bloated in afternoon or night."

Estarylla (ethinyl estradiol / norgestimate) "I used to take Sprintec, but the pharmacy isn't carrying it now I believe. I started taking this generic which is suppose to be the same and the first month was ok, my period was shorter than normal, we get to month 2 and my period starts up on week 2 of the pack. I am now on month 3 and my period started up again midway they week 1, I haven’t stopped bleeding. So for the whole entire month of January I have had to stock up on supplies because my period hasn't stopped at all. I want to sleep all the time, I already have issues with my depression and anxiety and I’ve noticed since starting the birth control I am a little bit more on the edge. Would not recommend anybody take this pill."
