Estarylla (ethinyl estradiol / norgestimate) "Could not say enough bad things about this medicine!!! Abnormal bleeding, oily skin, mood swings, head aches, weight gain, racing heart, shortness of breath, cramping, night sweats and nausea just from taking this pill for less than a month. Do not understand why anyone is even getting prescribed this pill especially after reading all the reviews I’ve read on it. Absolutely ridiculous!!"

Tri-Sprintec (ethinyl estradiol / norgestimate) "So I started taking these pills 2 weeks ago I took it on a Tuesday a week before my original period would come. I noticed I was getting horrible headaches but I brushed it off because my period had came June 23rd so I thought that was the reason to the headaches. But today is June 30th and I’m still bleeding heavily and cramping like bad. My period was normal before taking these pills it would last 4 days and cramps the first 2 days but that’s it. I think these pills causes those horrible headaches and this prolong bleeding I’m seriously soaking through my pads still after 8 full days I honestly believe it’s the pills which I’m not gonna take anymore. I would not take this medication try another birth control brand."

Sprintec (ethinyl estradiol / norgestimate) "I have no sex drive and I am always spotting. The spotting has even gotten worse - now I have two periods a month. I have been taking the pill for almost a year, and the side effects have not subsided - they have gotten worse. I had to change birth control because of cost, I guess you get what you pay for.... Sorry Sprintec my body does not like you."

Sprintec (ethinyl estradiol / norgestimate) "I have been taking Sprintec for a couple months now and for about a couple weeks of about 3 or four a day, I had severe cramps and had to be put on 500 mg painkillers, it has since subsided somewhat, but I now have the biggest clots that I have ever seen. I am constantly spotting, even though it is supposed to stop or regulate my period. I was placed on it by a couple of different doctors because I have been having excessive bleeding non stop. I was on another birth control pill - I forgot the name which was way better at stopping my period and getting me back on a monthly cycle. With Sprintec, my period is constant and I spot daily. My sex life is nonexistent as a result."

Tri-Sprintec (ethinyl estradiol / norgestimate) "I just finished my three packs. HORRIBLE to say the least, but does its job of avoiding pregnancy. If I don't eat before taking the pill I'm nauseous and vomiting for the next three days. The first month my period was on time and regular. The second month I had two periods and would bleed after sex. And this third month has been pretty much continuous bleeding to the point I don't have sex with my boy friend at all. My periods used to be pretty light and last 4-5 days. Now they're extremely light to the point I hardly have to use a panty liner and I mostly bleed when I use the bathroom but it's all day every day.I'm also moody and cranky and tired all the time. I'm so done with this birth control and am changing. DO NOT RECOMMEND TO ANYONE."

Mononessa (ethinyl estradiol / norgestimate) "First month went well. Second month I started bleeding spotting really the second week of active pills. I have now been bleeding for the last month and I'm tired. I've had all the symptoms of a period bloated, headache, tired, back pain, restless at night. I didn't have any of these problems when I was not on birth control. I really hate how this pill has made me feel as well as the all month bleeding."

Sprintec (ethinyl estradiol / norgestimate) "I have been taking Sprintec since May 2016. I was doing great on the blue pill, but when it came to taking the white pill for 7 days, I would bleed for weeks straight at a time. So, playing doctor, I just started taking the blue pill and would skip over taking the white pill and I would spot every now and then. When I did do that I would have severe cramps (never had cramps before in my life) and decided to finish the pack as suggested (blue/white pills). Now it is August and for three weeks I have been bleeding non-stop. I have not taken any of my blue pills since Sunday, July 31st, to see if the bleeding would stop and sure enough it HASN'T....I am tired of cramping when on the pill and bleeding when I follow the directions. HELP???"

Sprintec (ethinyl estradiol / norgestimate) "First month I had pretty bad cramps but that was a big reason I went on it, along with very irregular periods. After that month though I barely experience cramping, my periods are light, and fairly short (4 days). I'm used to heavy cramps so bad I throw up and 6+ day periods. My skin is the clearest it's ever been. I did bloat very bad (7 pound gained) around month 4 but now (month 5) all bloating is gone and I'm back to my original size. It hasn't taken away any PMS symptoms besides acne and cramps but I'm okay with that. My breasts have grown a cup size (32 C to 32 D). So far so good. Plus... No babies!"

Sprintec (ethinyl estradiol / norgestimate) "I have the same problem. Have been taking it "continuously" for several months to treat heavy, irregular periods. Now, I have spotting/bleeding every day (at least 3/4 of the month). Also, like other person who posted, I have large clots."

Sprintec (ethinyl estradiol / norgestimate) "I have been on sprintec for over a year. All has been well and it has clearly worked for the purpose of preventing pregnancy. The one mistake I made was slipping my placebo pills and going on to the next pack instead, to avoid period. The period came two weeks later during my regular pills, and since then I have been spotting this dark brown gooey stuff. It sucks, but other than that I haven't had any problems with it."

Tri-Sprintec (ethinyl estradiol / norgestimate) "I was on Ortho tri Cyclen Lo for the past 6 years, I had only went up a cup size and that was perfectly fine. I never had a problem with it, and thankfully never got pregnant. But due to the stupid Obamacare changes, the insurance forced my Dr. to give me Tri-Sprintec. I've only been taking it for the past 2 months and IT HAS BEEN HELL! I have gained 20 lbs in the first 2 months! I went from being a 34DD to a 36DDD and I count calories and I am an avid gym goer! I'm already near 30 and losing weight is especially hard when your at or past 30! And along with that I ended up having a low libido, ridiculous amounts of fatigue(like wanting to fall asleep standing up) vaginal dryness, constant calf muscle cramps, depressive moods. Do not take!"

Tri-Sprintec (ethinyl estradiol / norgestimate) "This is the best birth control I've been on. No weight gain at all. And it doesn't make it hard to lose weight. My boobs have gotten bigger. My skin is so clear I get compliments on it ( i used to have bad acne). And most importantly, no babies. I have sex with my SO without condoms so I know it works. I know exactly when my period will come every month. That's a relief because I used to get my period anywhere from every 2-9 months apart. Only side effects is occasional nausea on the first week of each pack. And random headaches but that's not often."

Estarylla (ethinyl estradiol / norgestimate) "This was my first time getting on the pill. My Dr put me on Estarylla and everything just went downhill from there. I was aware of the side-effects, granted this is my first time being on the pill. But, I have never felt so awful in my life. By the 3rd week, I have hit a wall with depression, so uncomfortably bloated, tons of nausea that never went away and abdominal pains. I finally called and told them what’s up, and they are wanting to switch me to Sprintec. Everyone’s body’s are different, but Estarylla made me feel the lowest of lows."

Sprintec (ethinyl estradiol / norgestimate) "So I started Sprintec the second day of my period (the first day was mainly just spotting, and the second day was a Sunday) anyways, I’ve only been taking it about 12 days now, and I’m exhausted. All the time. I mean I’m usually constantly tired, but I need a nap after going up the stairs. I also have been having brown bleeding for a week after my period. So it’s like I’ve been on my period two weeks. I usually have good skin, and now my face is starting to break out all over. My boobs are sore, but their enhancing so I’m taking that as a “beauty is pain” lol. I stay bloated a lot. I'm not too sure how to feel about it honestly."

Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo (ethinyl estradiol / norgestimate) "I began taking this b/c 2 years ago because I was having a 10 day long period every other week. The pill worked perfect for regulating my hormones so that I would have a normal (4-5 day long) period once a month. I didn't have headaches, mood swings, weight gain, or any odd side effects. Only downside is my insurance began charging $50 a month for it so I had to stop using it and now have to switch. And now that I have stopped taking it my acne on my face, back, and chest has returned."

Estarylla (ethinyl estradiol / norgestimate) "I was put on this Estarylla birth control pill after a long 2 month period and ovarian cyst . It stopped my period almost immediately! I’ve been on Estarylla For three months now and the worst side effect I’ve experienced is weight gain. My period is also more heavy and painful than usual but honestly I will take that over two months of non-stop bleeding ."

Sprintec (ethinyl estradiol / norgestimate) "I've been on this going on 3 months. I've been doing the continuous method of no placebo pills in order to skip periods. The first week the nausea was terrible but luckily didn't last past that. Then towards end of first month started getting cramps pretty bad but were bearable with Tylenol. Second month I bled for a long time maybe 2 weeks I was so irritated I almost stopped taking them!! That was my main goal to skip periods and here's this weird extra long one but Dr said its normal and give it a few more cycles to regulate and get rid of old uterine lining so I stuck it out and now everything's fine. Makes sense that there would be a transition phase so some might just need to give your body time to adjust those first few months! And unrelated to bleeding but my boobs got firmer and noticeably fuller on this pill with some soreness there."

Mononessa (ethinyl estradiol / norgestimate) "Before this I had been using the Depo Shot and then Yaz for a year and had constant bleeding and spotting on both. Once I started taking Mononessa my bleeding stopped in two days. It's been two weeks since starting the pack and all is still good. I have noticed a tiny increase in pimples and my breasts have become slightly bigger and tender, but not painful. I have high hopes for this pill."

Sprintec (ethinyl estradiol / norgestimate) "I’ve been on Sprintec ever since I was 16. I’m 20 now. The whole purpose of birth control was to help with my horrible cramps, it’s helped but causes way too much break through bleeding. I’m on my period a week early and this just keeps happening! I’m at the point where I’m just going to stop it all together."

Tri-Sprintec (ethinyl estradiol / norgestimate) "I began taking this for my period, which was really heavy and came with terrible cramps. While I was on it, I experienced terrible cramps. I have genetically good skin, but this medication gave me the worst acne of my life. It was embarrassing, not to mention painful. It also made me incredibly depressed, and I’d find myself cancelling plans with some of my favorite people to stay home and cry. I have decided to go off of it, and I am very excited to get back to normal. Based on other reviews I have read, many women have gone through similar experiences to mine."

Tri-Previfem (ethinyl estradiol / norgestimate) "I have been taking Ortho Tri-Cyclen for about 6 years -- then my insurance switched me to Tri-Spintec. Then a couple of months after that I was switched to Tri-Previfem by my insurance. My period last month was so light, I was thinking "yay!".. but I'm halfway through my pack this month and have started my period again. I'm going to guess it will continue into next week when I'm scheduled to have my period. I don't like this at all. Part of the reason I love birth control is I can be in control of my period and schedule things around its arrival (i.e., my wedding coming up). After reading these reviews, I'm going to talk to my pharmacist about going back to Ortho Tri Cyclen. Thanks for the reviews ladies."

Sprintec (ethinyl estradiol / norgestimate) "I've been on Sprintec for over a year now. And just recently skipped a placebo week because I was going on vacation well my plans got cancelled because of a hurricane. (This is the first time I've skipped a placebo week since I've been on it) I was spotting the week after I skipped and I've recently started bleeding heavier. I haven't had any problems with Sprintec since I've been on it. It was great until I skipped. It helped my acne A LOT it regulated my periods, which I started the pill for irregular bleeding (I bled for a month and ended up going to er for it)"

Mononessa (ethinyl estradiol / norgestimate) "Before Mononessa I tried 4 different birth controls (can't remember the names) but all of them gave me bleeding constantly, it was horrible. Finally I tried Mononessa. It's helped so much, my periods are much lighter, no more acne, and I didn't experience any weight gain like the other reviews I have read. Also it is a lot cheaper. This pill is the one I've been needing."
