"UPDATE: My Dr. called me back on 12/17/19 and told me to continue taking the pill because the bleeding is normal and will eventually stop. She also recommended taking 1 ibuprofen a day to help with the bleeding. It didn't immediately stop it, but I did notice that each day I had less and less bleeding. It is now Dec. 30th, and I have not bled since Dec. 24th, thank goodness. So I will continue this pill. Other than the bleeding, I didn't experience any adverse reactions. I freaked out because I didn't know to expect bleeding. I am supposed to have my menstrual cycle this week (yes, it sucks that I finally got relief from bleeding, just to expect my period in a couple of days lol). So we'll see how painful my period is this time around, because that's the reason why I am taking this pill... Take care of yourselves, ladies❣"

"I’ve been on this Estarylla birth control for about 5 months now, and for 3 of those 5 months, I have not stopped bleeding. Would not recommend this pill. My doctor never made it apparent to me the awful side effects."

"I'm 38 years old, and I've never taken birth control before, but I started having three weeks of bleeding in a month with all the crazy hormone freak-outs that come with a period for the same amount of time, and I finally gave in to my gyn/ob's suggestion to try birth control. I feel totally normal again, except my sex drive has gone through the roof, which I honestly have no problem with at all. Consider it a positive. And I'm not craving as many sweets. Again, a positive. On the whole, I'm very pleased."

"I’ve been on Sprintec for about 6 years now, and I would never choose anything different. I’ve been on 4 different types of the pill previously, and this one works wonderfully for me. My breasts did grow a whole cup, my periods are short and regular, and I haven’t had acne my whole adult life because of Sprintec. No more mood swings either! Kinda sad when I’m going to have to go off of it eventually!"

"My whole life I’ve had irregular periods, and without having some guidance, I didn’t seek medical help until now because I had abnormal bleeding (I bled for 2 months straight). My doctor told me to take Estarylla for the next 3 months to see how it would affect my flow. Once I started taking it, it immediately helped slow down and stop my flow. 2 weeks later, my period came back, but I expected it to because the birth control is to regulate my period. I had my period for way longer than I’ve ever had it (typically have it for 5 days, and then I’m good, but this time it lasted a week and a half). Then I got a 4-day break, and my period came back AGAIN. Called my doctor to ask what to do, and all I was told was this is normal. This medication also gives really bad gas and stomach pains, acne, and mood swings. DO NOT RECOMMEND TAKING."

"I went to go get my regular BC from my pharmacy about three months ago when I saw they put me on Estarylla. My periods now last longer than 2 weeks instead of the normal 5 days I am used to. Ladies, trust me, it's not just you. PLEASE DO NOT TAKE THIS PILL, WHATEVER YOU DO!"

"I was on this for 2 years, stopped it because I had been broken up with (didn't want babies). I no longer had a need for it. After stopping this, I ended up bleeding for 2 weeks at a time. Once a month, I had 1 week where I wasn't on my period, and I would soak an overnight pad in less than an hour. I had extreme cramps, skipped uni because I would have to go to the bathroom every 30 minutes to change my tampon and pad. I had fainting spells, sleeping in school because I couldn't stay awake. I came home from school at 4, slept until the next morning every day (due to the amount of blood loss). This birth control permanently ruined my natural mental cycle. I NEVER had this problem. I could not include the rest of my experience because only 1000 characters are allowed. I ended up in the hospital for 4 days, 2 blood transfusions, and heart failure. There was also cystic hormonal acne, suicidal thoughts, and depression. I can't stop it now, or else I would end up risking my life again because it permanently messed up my reproductive organs."

"I just started these pills last month. I had a period for 5 days, and then 2 days later, I experienced heavy bleeding. This pill has been causing me to feel nauseated and having severe stomach pains. I do not recommend this prescription to anyone."

"This was the worst birth control I have ever taken. I was previously on MonoNessa, which I loved, but then was switched to this generic. I never had an issue with abnormal bleeding (been on MonoNessa about 6 years) and am on an SSRI, so my mood is pretty stabilized. However, about 5 months into this generic, I had the worst month of my life. I bled clots of blood for a month straight and had to go to the doctor. Additionally, I felt so depressed all the time and had suicidal thoughts almost daily, even when taking my SSRI. I recently switched to a new birth control and feel 100X better. This birth control was awful. Would not recommend for anyone."

"I’ve been on this Sprintec birth control since May. Completely horrible. Breakthrough bleeding all the time, and recently my doctor told me to skip my placebo (which I’ve done once before and bled for 6 weeks because of it). Well, I spotted the first week I skipped, but now I’ve been on my period for 12 days. Wondering when it will stop. I’m done taking this medication."

"Don’t miss a pill when on Tri-Lo-Marzia. I swear if I miss a pill or take it too late, I’ll be spotting freaky-looking black clots and discharge until week 4 when I get my period where the gates go from just a crack to wide-hecking-open. But if I do everything right, it is a GODSEND. Severe cramps gone, no more mood swings, and a WAY MORE regular cycle. So yeah, set an alarm on your phone or something to take it, and it’ll be fine."

"Everything seemed fine in the first few weeks of taking the pill, and then right before starting my second pack, I started bleeding heavily and having the most awful cramps. It was like I was 13 years old all over again (keep in mind, I’m 25). So now I’m almost finished with my second pack, and I’ve been bleeding heavily for like 2 1/2 weeks now. This birth control sucks. I do not recommend. I’m switching to another one as soon as I can."

"I use Sprintec (with permission from my doctor) to stop the year-long straight period I had with my Nexplanon. Works great! Takes care of acne, no hormonal side effects, and most importantly, I haven’t had my period in months unless I stop the pill! I finally can wear light undies, and I’m saving so much on pads and panty liners. Thank you, Sprintec!"

"I have no sex drive, and I am always spotting. The spotting has even gotten worse - now I have two periods a month. I have been taking the pill for almost a year, and the side effects have not subsided - they have gotten worse. I had to change birth control because of cost, I guess you get what you pay for. Sorry, Sprintec, my body does not like you."

"My doctor switched to Tri-Lo-Sprintec because while the first two pills I tried for hormonal acne worked for that, I was getting some light spotting. Started this, and I literally bled constantly for a month. Like, HORRIBLE bleeding. I didn’t bleed like this after I had my son! I stuck it out and tried a second month, and I spotted (pretty heavily) the entire second month. My period was the worst I have ever had in my 41 years of life. I would bleed through super plus tampons in 30 minutes and pass huge blood clots, massive clots the size of mandarin oranges at a minimum. My doctor said try one more month, so that’s where I’m at now. My period started right back up on day 3 of the pack, and I’m bleeding like it’s my period again even though I’m at the end of my first week of the pack. I’m still passing blood clots, and I’m anemic as anything. Tri-Lo sucks, and I will never take it again. Who cares if my skin is great if I’m bleeding to the point of no blood left in my body and I’ve put on 5 pounds."

"My insurance company just switched me from Ortho Tri-Cyclen to Tri-Previfem. This is my second month on it. My period usually lasted for 3 days also. This time it's been 5 days. And in the past 2 days, I've had a lot of bleeding. I've gone through over 10 pads already today. I will stop taking it and try to go back to Ortho Tri-Cyclen. I'd been on Ortho Tri-Cyclen for many years and never had any side effect."

"I was 17 when I started on this pill because I had cysts on my ovaries. This pill is a good pill and not a bad one like a lot of the women are saying. This pill has the same side effects as all the other pills do. Yes, I gained weight at first, but now I am back to my normal size because my body regulated it. The leaflets say you may not feel well the first 1-3 packs. It's because your body has to regulate it!"

"Started on the Tri-Sprintec pill to treat my endometriosis. I need to stop having my period in order for my endometriosis to stop growing and stretching out to my other organs. I just finished Lupron, which was not that great, and now I'm on the pill and haven't stopped bleeding. Ten days and still with a heavy flow ... in so much pain right now."

"I just started Sprintec. I'm on my 3rd week of pills. I have not stopped bleeding yet. After reading these reviews, I think I'm going to try another BC. I have heavy bleeding 3 days in a row with large clots. I thought the bleeding was almost over last week, but to my surprise, I just missed work because of heavy, heavy bleeding and clots. This can't be normal."

"I got on this pill because I had non-stop bleeding, and of course, before taking this, I read every single review, and almost every single review was bad. But I had no choice, I had to get on it because I was on the verge of becoming anemic. I also have acne, mild acne, but I wasn’t taking it to help my acne, if it would help, it would be a plus. So I’ve been on Sprintec for 4 weeks, and honestly, I have nothing bad to say. The only thing is that the first 2 weeks my skin did get really bad, but 1 week later my skin cleared up beautifully. Usually, my skin stays clear for like 3 days, then I’d start breaking out again, but my skin has been clear for like two weeks. I have no other side effects at all. For the purpose of it to help regulate my period, I stopped bleeding for a while, but I’m bleeding again, but the nurse said it might take a while to regulate, so I’m waiting on that."

"I've been on this birth control for 4 days, and that is all I'm giving it. My headaches have been so intense I just cry. I sleep so much more, and I'm always hungry. And even better, I started bleeding as soon as I popped the first pill in my mouth, and I'm talking about heavy bleeding, clots! Soaking through pads and tampons within an hour or less. Please, ladies, stay away from this."

"I really don't like this pill. I feel sick all the time. Headaches, blurred vision, motion sickness, hot flashes, and depression. My vagina is always dry and itchy. I am so sick to the point of leaving work and lying in bed all day. The weight gain is horrible. I was on it for period control."

"I just started taking Sprintec 2 weeks ago, and in the beginning, I was fine, no cramps or anything. I am on my second week taking this birth control, and all I have done is bleed. Also, since being on Sprintec, my cramps have gotten a million times worse. I would not even recommend this to my worst enemy...."

"First month, I had pretty bad cramps, but that was a big reason I went on it, along with very irregular periods. After that month, though, I barely experience cramping, my periods are light and fairly short (4 days). I'm used to heavy cramps so bad I throw up and 6+ day periods. My skin is the clearest it's ever been. I did bloat very badly (7 pounds gained) around month 4, but now (month 5), all bloating is gone and I'm back to my original size. It hasn't taken away any PMS symptoms besides acne and cramps, but I'm okay with that. My breasts have grown a cup size (32 C to 32 D). So far, so good. Plus... no babies!"

"I am having nothing but problems on this birth control. I am a month and a half into using it, and I have been spotting often. I spot more with sex. I just took the 9th pill of the new pack and I am already spotting. I am moody and crying very easily. This birth control is not working for me. All this spotting is messing with my sex drive, and I just never know what to expect."
