For Birth Control "I’m on the 2nd month of taking Femynor. I had nausea and headaches the first 4 days of taking it. I’d take it at 11 pm, but I’d wake up nauseous in the middle of the night. But it wasn’t bad to the point of throwing up. I will say I felt more affected emotionally. During the 3rd week, my emotions felt all over the place. I have a history of anxiety, and it did aggravate it. I cried for no reason, felt more anxious than usual, and some paranoia. This lasted about a week. During the last week of taking the sugar pills, I did not get a period. I only had very light spotting for 2 days. This is a big pro for me. No PMS or cramping at all. Yes, it was rough the first few weeks, but the side effects have worn off after the 1st month. This birth control is also inexpensive for me, I pay $8 monthly. Don’t let the reviews scare you, give it a try. It takes some time for your body to adjust. I hope it works for you, I will update at the end of month 2."

For Birth Control "I got on Femynor about 11 months ago, and it works as any good birth control for me. Unlike other women, I don’t have headaches or anxiety or dizziness. Prior to getting on birth control, my hormones were kinda off, and I had irregular periods. Now they are predictable and come on the same day for every cycle. I haven’t gained any weight either. I also haven’t gotten pregnant yet, so that’s a plus, lol."

For Birth Control "I've been taking this pill, Femynor, for approximately a year. It started out okay, but a few months in, my periods started happening in the middle of the pack and lasting until the end. Also, the main reason my doctor recommended this pill to me was to clear up my acne. I have not seen a difference - I still break out a lot every month right around the second week, and my face doesn't tend to clear up until after my period... just for it to happen all over again. I came on here to see if anyone else had similar side effects and was surprised to see how many comments there are on anxiety/depression. I have never been one to be super anxious/depressed, but this past year, it has been so bad. I can't confirm this is the sole reason, but it does seem a little suspicious. I stopped taking it this month to see how I feel - I'm getting sick of trying out different pills though, this must be my fifth try. Just remember, everybody is different!"

For Birth Control "I started taking Femynor in July of 2019 because CVS switched me from Estarylla. It has been terrible. Not even before the end of my first pill pack, I had intermittent bleeding and what felt like menstrual cramps throughout the active pills. Then in August, I started my next pack after my period, and before the second week of active pills, I had intermittent bleeding AGAIN. By this point, I'm thinking something is seriously wrong because I never had this issue with Estarylla since 2015. I decided to take a leap of faith and continue the pill pack into September, and it does not get any better. Still bleeding right now as I am writing this review. I have had night sweats, stomach aches, extreme fatigue, lack of motivation, terrible mood swings, constant cramps, and headaches, to name a few. I reached out to my doctor, who told me that the intermittent bleeding was normal, but I had enough once I had the worst anxiety attack of my life. I'm done with Femynor."

For Birth Control "I started on Trinessa in high school and had never had acne before. That is when I developed some breakouts occasionally. About a year ago, I was switched to Tri Femynor (thanks to my insurance dropping Trinessa), and I have slowly developed feelings of anxiety and depression. I handle stress so much worse than ever before, and my acne has skyrocketed. In the last 3 months, it has been unbearable. Everyone is different, and I believe the dosage between Trinessa and Tri Femynor is the same (both norgestimate and ethinyl estradiol), so I do not see why I would see these drastic changes. I have never had feelings of severe depression or anxiety before, and I am definitely not easily worked up. Just wish I would have been able to talk to my doctor about it before the switch occurred or talk about other options. If your pharmacy is switching you out of the blue, I would recommend sitting down with your doctor first so you feel most comfortable and informed about what is going into your body!"

For Birth Control "I recently was on Lo Loestrin, and that one worked perfectly for me. No mood swings, no breakthrough bleeding. However, my doctor wanted to switch me to Femynor. WORST MISTAKE EVER!!! Just after 2 days of taking it, I felt anxious/depressed. Didn’t think anything of it until the next day I was just crying for no reason! I felt depressed, didn’t want to get out of bed. Bloating up from water retention. I’ve been off the pill for 2 days now, and slowly but surely I am feeling better!"

For Birth Control "I had been using Estarylla for months with little problem, but I started using Femynor recently because my pharmacy ran out of Estarylla. I'm barely a week into my supply, and my depression and anxiety have gotten dramatically worse. I had a severe panic attack and thought I was going to die, I also have no appetite and get nauseous if I try to force myself to eat."

For Birth Control "I’ve been on this birth control for over a year now! I would say I had a change in mood the first 4-5 months. Extremely anxious and I’d get nauseous! I haven’t had any problems since. It hasn’t made me gain weight, no acne, my cramps are very minimal when I get my period! I’d recommend this birth control if you can handle the side effects the first couple of months!"

For Birth Control "I've been on this birth control for about 2 months now, and I specifically asked my gyno for one she recommended that wouldn't make me nauseous because I usually get nauseous easily. Tbh, on Femynor, I have not been nauseous at all, my boobs for sure grew and always feel tender, and my period was a less flow but still lasted the same amount of time as I am used to. I believe the first 3 weeks it might have intensified my anxiety, but other than that, I feel normal, and my period was still regular, and it came on the day after taking the second sugar pill. I believe this birth control also has helped with my PMDD because I've realized I wasn't getting the emotional symptoms I usually get before getting my period. So this has been great so far!"

For Birth Control "I honestly thought I was going through a midlife crisis, but upon reading these reviews, I finally understand why I have been acting the way that I am for the past couple of months. As soon as I was switched from Estarylla to this medication, I had severe anxiety until this day. I have never been one to be anxious, but when I tell you I had the craziest anxiety ever, I did. I would get my period on the second week of active pills all the way through my sugar pills. Mind you, I was taking the pill at the same time every day. Do not recommend this pill. Also, I gained like 10 lbs."

For Birth Control "CVS switched me from Estarylla to Femynor. It's the worst birth control I've ever taken. I have depression, anxiety, irritability, everything mentioned in other reviews happened to me as well. I have to fight CVS every month to give me Estarylla because I refuse to take this medication."

For Birth Control "I started Femynor back in college. Initially, I had painful cramps and nausea for numerous days. Eventually, these side effects cleared, and I continued with the medication for 5 years. For those 5 years, my acne had cleared, but I developed anxiety and suffered from dreadful cramps and mood swings during/leading up to my period. I am currently switching birth control pills, after a while, I started developing frequent hormonal acne, which I’ve rarely ever had growing up."

For Birth Control "So I have been taking Femynor for about a year and a half. I originally was taking Tri-Estarylla, but for some reason, CVS switched me. I will say that this birth control keeps me very regular and has helped dramatically with reducing cramping, nausea, and flow. However, over the last year and a half, I have developed crippling anxiety, gastrointestinal distress, and gained weight. I originally attributed all of these symptoms to the stress of college and applying to graduate schools until I started reading these reviews. I have also gained a total of 30 lbs while being on the pill. However, some of that might be due to stress eating caused by the anxiety. I have also completely lost my sex drive, and my personality changed, which caused issues in my long-term relationship. I am planning on talking to my doctor and getting switched back to Tri-Estarylla."

For Birth Control "I tried Femynor birth control after being on Estarylla for less than a year. It’s only been a month, and I haven’t had any bad side effects! The only thing I noticed was the first few days I would get anxious out of nowhere, but being on Estarylla gave me horrible anxiety, so for me, it was like it was getting out of my system. Hopefully, I don’t have any bad side effects soon since I know it takes about 3 months for your body to get used to birth control."

For Birth Control "After reading reviews, I believe all my problems from the past year stem from this birth control, Femynor. I originally went on Tri-Estrylla for severe cramps, back pain, and acne. It was great! My periods became noticeably less painful. My acne did not change. After maybe about 4 or 5 months of using it, my pharmacy changed me to this, and my side effects started. First, I started losing a significant amount of weight for the first time in my life. Looking at food made me nauseous, and I became incredibly less hungry. Sometimes I felt like I was going to puke the whole day and just never did. I’m continuing to lose weight, and for the first time since elementary school, I’m under 100 lbs. I thought this may have been because of my depression and anxiety (which now I believe is caused by the birth control as well). I’ve always struggled with depression, but it became so bad for no reason at all this past year. I have become a zombie. Also, I have absolutely NO sex drive at all, which sucks."

For Birth Control "I started taking this birth control 12 days ago. The second day I took it, I immediately felt sad. I thought it was just a normal passing ache of the heart, but it didn't stop. After a week and a half of minor depression, I began to feel intense anxiety. Today I reached a breaking point. I had the craziest panic attack where I kept switching from mania to crying. My body kept switching from cold to hot, and I could not stop shivering. I felt hungry every day, no matter what, and felt irritated often. You may not think this was enough time to feel these effects, but I'm telling you I did. Good luck."

For Birth Control "I started this Femynor birth control about a year ago for my acne specifically. It has still to this day never helped it. I should have stopped it there, but no, I continued to take it like an idiot. The nausea I get is horrible. It’s typically at night also, which is worse. I have stomach issues where I get bad stomach aches right after I eat, and I’m starting to think this could be the cause of it. I constantly get headaches from it also. And, on top of that, I think it has made my anxiety way worse. Definitely going to stop taking the pill."

For Birth Control "I'm currently on my 2nd pack of Femynor pills, and throughout the time I've been on them, I've been spotting. Previously, I was on Portia and Lillow. I stopped taking Portia because it made me a bit anxious the first week of the pack, and Lillow did the same. But try Femynor, I was always jumpy, it actually made me break out more. I haven't had acne like this since I was 17, and I'm now 27. But the worst part is the continuous spotting. I honestly would not recommend this birth control to anyone."

For Birth Control "The worst months of my life. My anxiety was through the roof, I was extremely paranoid everyone was out to get me. I cried for no reason and would regularly get in slumps. I felt so depressed every day I was on it. Made me feel like I was in a melancholic movie. Didn’t get pregnant, though, so I guess it does its job. It also cleared up my acne."

For Birth Control "I had previously used Ortho Tri-Cyclen and had no issues, no symptoms, everything was great. When I switched over to Femynor, it was the worst 5 months ever! The first month, I expected it to be difficult due to switching over, but I had all the symptoms-- headache, anxiety, over-emotional, nausea, bloating, tender breasts, etc. After 3 months, it dwindled to tender breasts, anxiety, but still over-emotional. I lost my AirPods in my room and burst into tears inexplicably. Needless to say, I asked my HCP to switch me to something else because just being on this medication gave me anxiety. But no pregnancies, so I guess it worked."

For Birth Control "Started this birth control 8 months ago, this is my first and knew some things to expect. I almost immediately felt period cramps after starting it and would feel them on and off for basically the whole month, getting worse closer to my period. Honestly, didn’t bother me that much but could be a personal thing. I definitely experienced emotional problems, but it fizzled out after 3-4 months. About 2 months after starting, my anxiety worsened, and for the past 5 months I’ve woken up in the middle of the night at least 2 days in a row every month with what feels like an anxiety attack that always results in 2 hours of violent puking. It’s the same every time and feels like episodes of constant anxiety and has lasted 5 days before. This is why I made an appointment to switch."
