"Been on Estarylla for a few months now and have had little to no problems. I was on Mono-Linyah before, which sometimes caused me to pass large tissue chunks during my period (that freaked me out). But so far, so good with Estarylla. The first month, I bled pretty randomly, which was kind of annoying, but that’s expected when starting any birth control, I think. Sometimes I get a tiny bit of spotting if I skip when my period should be. But nothing more than that. My skin is normal, my weight is normal. I think the only thing is that I am more sweaty and have to load up on deodorant more than I had to before."

"Recently, I was switched to Estarylla from Sprintec because my pharmacy decided to stop carrying it. The first 3 days were fine - headache-free too. By the next week, I was feeling anxious and really exhausted even when I was sleeping fine. Kind of like a mental fog deal. I usually take my pill before work, so tonight I took it with a bowl of Bran cereal - packed with B vitamins, and I felt like my usual self. No anxiety or heart racing - I also cut out caffeine and any headache meds with caffeine included. I also felt anxious and not myself on other pills too, so I changed my diet to stuff that was high in B and E vitamins and started taking a multivitamin - it seems to really help with depression and the anxious feeling that comes with taking BC. I’m going to stay on this for a bit and hope for the best, but just remember all BC pills have side effects. Estarylla isn’t the best, but it certainly isn’t the worst..."

"Estarylla is the worst BC ever! My pharmacy filled this instead of my normal BC because they are generic. They have done this a few times, and this is the fourth time I have used this brand. I have my period since day one (every time they switch me to this)... and my cycle is never off with my normal BC. I am emotional, super dehydrated, having panic attacks, weight gain, my acne cleared up, but I am not myself. Very depressed, and my kids and my BF noticed. I'm refusing to take the rest, and I'm already three weeks in. Never again will I take these."

"This is the worst pill ever! I'm on the 4th day, and all these past days, even the first day, I have been having such bad anxiety, dark thoughts, moodiness, crying, and having super bad nausea. Don't take it."

"I am starting my 3rd month of Estarylla. I was nervous to start it after reading all these bad reviews, but it has worked fine for me. I started taking it just for birth control, but I've noticed my skin has been clearing up too. One side effect I've noticed is that I feel a little nauseous the first few days of starting a pack-nothing serious, though. I also get bloated more easily. Overall, I'm satisfied with how it's working for me."

"This has to be the worst pill I have ever taken! I was on Femynor right after I gave birth in October and had no problems. No side effects, nothing. Until one day I went to pick my new pack up, and this is what they gave me at the pharmacy. I’ve only been taking this pill for 3 weeks, and I’m unmotivated to do anything and constantly tired. The nurse told me it’s the same pill and nothing would change, but that’s a lie. I’ve had a migraine for 3 weeks straight! I’ve been trying to hold out, but I can’t. It’s awful, and I’m going back to Femynor. I shouldn’t have to keep taking Tylenol for pain! I’m getting off Estarylla next month. I’ll rate this pill a 0 if I could. It’s true when they say you have to find a pill that your body likes."

"I was taking Loryna for about 2 years with no issues. My doctor decided to switch me to Estarylla, and this has been the worst experience of my adult life. I immediately felt terrible after taking the Estarylla. I said that I would give it a few days for my body to start adjusting, but a month later my body did not adjust. I felt as if I was losing control of my life daily because of this medicine. My doctor thought it was a good switch, but because I know my body, I knew something was wrong. I tried taking it with and without food to see if that would make a difference. I also tried changing the time of day to see if that would help. I still felt TERRIBLE! I was bloated, had nausea, and had the worst case of the jitters daily. I could barely finish a meal without feeling gassy and bloated. I was getting headaches daily, and not to mention the fatigue and heavy breakthrough bleeding that I never had with Loryna. This has got to be the worst birth control pill on the market."

"Been on this birth control for years and haven’t had many problems. I noticed a bit more mood changes when I started, but I also started college and was in a stressful time during the first few years I took it. Not sure if I can blame the birth control or life itself. Was on Sprintec before it got randomly changed to this, but they’ve treated me the same."

"I was on Estarylla for 1 day, and it gave me chest heaviness to the point where I felt I couldn't breathe for several days. I was sent to the ER, and they said I was completely healthy. It made me very depressed, but the worst part was feeling like I was literally suffocating, but doctors telling me I was fine. Anxiety was through the roof, and every moment was just torment and crying. I do not suggest taking Estarylla!!!"

"Side effects: migraines every day, gained 25 pounds in 5 months without any lifestyle change, low libido, anxiety, mood swings, horrible menstrual bleeding, tender boobs, but I had GREAT SKIN???, inability to fall asleep. Stopped taking this pill in June (now December) have lost 20 pounds without lifestyle change, boobs do not hurt, way better periods, mood swings and anxiety are gone, no headaches, libido is back and skin went back to normal (I have acne, but compared to every other horrific side effect, this pill gave me I'll happily take the acne). This pill is truly the worst, and any birth control pill for that matter."

"This is the worst birth control! I was on Mononessa for a while, and it was fine. My periods started like clockwork. Then Walgreens said it was discontinued and switched me to Estarylla about 6 months ago. The breakthrough bleeding is horrible! I have to wear a pad or tampon every single day for the spotting! I told my doctor, who called in more Mononessa, which the pharmacy switched to Estarylla again! OMG! Can I please get something where I am normal again??!!!"

"I only took this medication for the first month, but I refuse to continue with it. The first week everything was fine, but over the course of two weeks, I've had extreme mood swings that just kept progressing to the point that I couldn't stand to be near my two-year-old. Every little thing she did set me off, and that terrifies me because I've always had so much patience with her. I was having horrible, vivid dreams, and the last day I was on it, I had been having suicidal ideations. I'd rather just risk getting pregnant than to risk feeling like that ever again."

"I was on Mononessa before it was discontinued and then was switched to Estarylla. My body LOVED Mononessa, and I felt great, no side effects. The past 2 months of being on Estarylla (I've been on it a total of maybe 4 months now) have been the worst. Horrific breakouts the week leading up to my period, significant weight gain (approximately 10-15 pounds in the past 3 months), pretty painful breast tenderness. My eyes have also been affected! My vision gets really blurry, and my eyes have dried out significantly. I'm getting off this stuff ASAP!"

"I went from my regular Ortho Tri-Cyclen lo to this version. It is by far one of the worst pills. While it did prevent pregnancy, I have been very moody, I could get angry or cry over the smallest things. This pill has had me depressed. My blood pressure is also unusually high, on top of that, I've broken out on my face. This pill has me feeling unlike myself, I've never had problems until I started this pill. Never again!"

"I've been on birth control for about 3 years now. My doctor first put me on Previfem. About a year later, I was switched to Estarylla. I've always had mild acne, so I can't tell if it is from this pill or not, but I constantly have pimples on my face and a few on my chest. It's nothing super noticeable or major, but I feel as Previfem did a better job in keeping my skin clearer than Estarylla. On Previfem, I gained about 10 pounds, and on this new pill, I have lost it all. I get HORRIBLE cramps the day before my period and the first day that it starts. But it always starts on the same day around the same time, so it is very regulated. It is also very effective as I have not gotten pregnant from either of these pills I have been on."

"Made my resting heart rate raise 20 beats per minute over a 7-day period. That can't be healthy. I stopped this medicine immediately, and my heart rate soon returned to normal. Also gave me acne, mood swings, and anxiety. I got switched to this because the pharmacy stopped carrying Monessa."

"I get birth control sent to me through the mail, 3 packs at a time. Now every 3 months, they usually switch the brand, and this time I got Estarylla. At first, I thought the package it came in was pretty cool, but this was by far the worst birth control I've ever gotten. After a short time using this, I got depressed and felt like a whole different person. I haven't been as lively as I normally am. This also kills your sex drive! I haven't been able to feel anything sexually at all since taking this. I guess that's how it works as birth control. After realizing this, they sent me another 3 months of the brand! I'm so frustrated."

"I've been taking birth control for a few years now. They had me on Previfem before but switched to Estarylla about a year ago, saying it was the same thing. I take the 0.25 mg. I suffer from manic depression, anxiety, and insomnia, so I never thought anything else was making it worse until just recently. I thought about how the week of green pills that are non-hormonal may be affecting my mood. The past year has been so bad for my mental and physical health due to intense fatigue, mood swings, anxiety over the smallest things, and insomnia, which then reacts to my body being tired and makes me restless. After reading how many reviews have the same pattern as my experience, I'm going to set an appointment with my OBGYN ASAP and hopefully find a better option."

"Absolutely horrible, randomly got switched from my regular pill, Ortho Tri-Cyclen. I'm pretty sure I was given poison because I have been non-stop vomiting since taking this pill. My regular birth control made me nauseous at first, but not bad at all, but this stuff actually made me feel like I was going to die."

"I had been wondering what was going on when I started vomiting and being nauseous when I started this pill last month. I thought it was something else. But now I have had extreme depression and moodiness and constant migraines, and I came here to see that it’s likely this pill. I didn’t get pregnant, so that’s a win, but I am miserable all the time, so I am taking myself off this ASAP."

"Like everyone else, I was switched by my pharmacy from Monessa to this. I’m on the 3rd week, and in this time, I have developed a cyst in my ovary, then started my period while on the active pills with the most constant, horrible cramps. I have had absolutely no energy and have felt so depressed to where I start crying for no reason. For the life of me, I could not figure out what was wrong until this morning I decided to look up this pill (I figured it would be the same since it was another generic brand, so I didn’t give it much thought). Most everyone with negative reviews matches my experience to a T. I am relieved to know I’m not alone, but will not be continuing this pill. Horrible experience."

"I’ve been taking the birth control for about 3 months and was terrified because of the reviews. I was afraid mostly of weight gain and mood swings. At the beginning, there was some breast tenderness, but that has completely gone away now. I have had zero side effects, except feeling a little nauseous the first couple of days of the placebo pills (it goes away if I eat). It has also made my face feel a little rougher, but I am the only one who notices. Don’t know how it works for birth control yet because I am waiting until I get married in 2 months. I believe taking it at the same time every day helps effectiveness. I set my alarm to 4:45 am and take it habitually every day. Like someone else said, trust your doctor and just try it. Every body is different, and most side effects go away after about 3 months. Make sure you use it correctly, like taking it at the same time every day too!"

"I have been on 3 different birth control pills in the past with 0 side effects from any of them. I trusted CVS when they switched my brand again to this one and didn't look up any reviews until now. After taking it for almost 2 weeks, I have been extremely emotional and depressed. I've never had issues with depression before, but this pill made me an emotional wreck. Every moment has been spent fighting back tears. I've also never had problems with my skin (maybe 1 pimple every month), and I now have 4 pimples on my face and some on my body and back. This birth control is the worst pill I have ever taken. Every person is obviously different in how they react, but it's not worth the risk!!"

"This is my first time on birth control, and it’s been only 3 months on Estarylla, and I haven’t had any bad symptoms other than terrible, terrible, !TERRIBLE! mood swings. I seriously feel bipolar 90% of the time. It is awful. I will be switching to Nexplanon at the end of this pack."

"If I could give this a zero, I would. I should have looked up the reviews before ever taking it. Fifteen minutes after popping it in my mouth, I'm anxious, paranoid, and sobbing over the smallest things. It has nearly destroyed my relationship, and I feel absolutely insane. Unless you enjoy sobbing, lethargy, panic attacks, paranoia, and suicidal thoughts and tendencies, AVOID THIS LIKE THE PLAGUE."
