"This is my first time on birth control and it’s been only 3 months on Estarylla and I haven’t had any bad symptoms other then terrible, terrible, !TERRIBLE! mood swings. I seriously feel bipolar 90% of the time. It is awful. I will be switching to nexplanon at the end of this pack."

"My pharmacy doesn't carry the sprintect birth control that I have been using for the past 5 1/2 years any more and switched me to Esatrylla and said "It is exactly the same thing." I have been taking it for 12 days - The acne I have gotten in the past 12 days is out of control. Deep, cystic acne that I have never experienced in my life, all over my face and down my neck and arms. I am 26 years old and I have pubescent acne all of the sudden. My mood swings have been horrible and I am exhausted at the end of the day. My poor husband has been avoiding me. I called my doctor today and am switching to a pharmacy who carries the brand I used before Estarylla. I wish I would have done a little research on this pill before taking it!"

"Walgreens switched me to Estarylla after being on Mononessa for a year and other birth control pills before that. I took Estarylla for one month and have never experienced so many negative side effects. During the second and third week of taking Estarylla I was so bloated that my pants were uncomfortable. I honestly felt and looked pregnant. I also had horrible indigestion and was not myself. I didn't want to talk to anyone and was not motivated to do my school work whatsoever. My period came on time, but I was miserable 2.5 of the 4 weeks on Estarylla. While everyone's bodies are different, mine did not agree with the inactive ingredients which is why my doctor requested I never get the generic brand again. Just know that you're not alone if you're dealing with side effects you've never dealt with before on this generic brand."

"I've been on this birth control for about three or four months now. My doctor prescribed it because I was getting to the point where I was sexually active frequently and she said this one was good, and it is! for pregnancy prevention, at least. But, it has a few downsides. This medication makes me very prone to panic attacks, mood swings, and depressed states. When I start a new pack, I always get a little nauseous and I bloat easily. It's very on and off for period regulation. Sometimes I'm light, sometimes heavy, sometimes no period at all. That being said, my acne is gone and I'm not pregnant and my cramping is minimal. Does it's job, but not for everybody."

"I started this birth control about a month ago after switching from the generic brand of Yaz (Loryna I believe) and I am about to finish my last pack. Before taking it, I was a bit hesitant because of the many bad reviews about it. But, after a month of taking it, I am happy to say I haven’t experienced barely any negative side effects. I haven’t felt depressed or anxious, I don’t believe I’ve gained weight (although I don’t have a scale to measure myself), and I haven’t had any headaches, stomach pain, etc. I have noticed a few pimples, but I also have been slacking on my skincare routine lately. All in all, I would suggest giving this birth control a try, and don’t let the bad reviews scare you. Yes, everyone’s body is different, but you don’t know how it will effect you until you try it for yourself."

"DO NOT TAKE THIS PILL. I was on mononessa for years and loved it until the pharmacy switched it to this garbage. At first it was typical, but by the 3rd week my health flipped. My anxiety and depression got so bad, I was feeling nauseous and lightheaded all day, I had so much trouble breathing, had low self-esteem and was overthinking everything and couldn’t handle stress, I was exhausted all the time but would wake up constantly with chills, and my heart was racing nonstop. I finally realized the only thing that’s different was this stupid pill so I quit taking it, but not before my doctor informed me I now have an overactive thyroid that was likely brought on by this. For mental and physical health, don’t accept this pill."

"I’m finishing up my 2nd pack now of Estarylla, and thought I’d write a review! This is the first birth control I’ve ever used, by the way. The only negative effect I’ve experienced has been nausea. It seems to come 6-10 hours after I take the pill, and comes in waves. Its not everyday, and thankfully when it does happen, it starts around the time I go to bed or very late in the morning (I take it at 6pm and work third shift). Honestly, if I felt nauseous at work or during the day, it would be uncomfortable. Other than that, I enjoy this pill. I used to have heavy period that lasted 7 days, but last month the first 2 days I was spotting, and the next 4 I had a light/regular flow. I haven’t seen any other positive effects (clear skin, reduce body hair), but hopefully that will come."

"I started taking this Estarylla after I had my baby because the pharmacy changed my prescription. It has been working for me even if I don’t take it at the same time everyday. Also my periods have been very regular and light. I don’t cramp as much and as bad as I used to. I might have a little acne but nothing serious. I have not experienced any other side effects besides a little extra discharge . I would recommend this medication."

"My pharmacy replaced Sprintec (the best birth control) with estarylla because they said it was the same formula. I have been on it for about 10 months now and I gained 10 pounds. After reading reviews, I realized it has made me moodier and made my anxiety worse. But hey I never got pregnant... If you have any sort of anxiety/depression, this is not the pill for you. I just got prescribed a lower dose of birth control called Lo Loestrin Fe, so we will see how that goes"

"I have been on at least four different brands of birth control over the last 5 years of my life and this has hands down been the worst one. I increased the amount of estrogen I was taking and started this birth control to help me with the hormonal acne I was getting around my chin and lips. It only got worse the week before my period. In addition, my anxiety got so bad I had my first panic attack. Everyone has a different reactions to medication and this was mine. At least it kept me from getting pregnant."

"I've only been on this pill for about a week and every morning I'd wake up with a headache I caught myself always having an attitude and when im alone I'd just cry for no reason I wouldn't take this pill"

"I had a missed miscarriage almost 3 months ago and my body has been having a hard time getting back into the swing of things so my Dr. prescribed this pill. I'm only two weeks into it, and it is one of the best pills I've ever had. My fiancé has noticed that I become more irritable lately and I have a bit of acne, but my bloating and cramping has gone away, and I have had no problem with cravings or weight gain. I just increased my intake on water and I feel fine. So far I can tell that it is helping tremendously by regulating my cycles and hormone levels again. Everyone's body is different. Don't trust the reviews. Be open with your doctor and let them decide what's best for you."

"Felt the need to come on here and say something positive about this pill! I was on Tri-Nessa for about a year and was beyond happy with it. I started birth control with Mono-Nessa and broke out horribly in hormonal cystic acne. Tri-Nessa cleared my face, however, I unfortunately still deal with scars. One month, my pharmacy handed me Estarylla instead of my normal Tri-Nessa and I was worried sick. After experiencing horrible acne and finally finding a pill that worked for me, the last thing I wanted to do was switch up again, especially after reading these reviews. I decided to try it out for a month and much to my relief, it works out GREAT! My skin looks even better than before and the only thing I have noticed has been moodier PMS."

"Recently I was switched to Estarylla from Sprintec because my pharmacy decided to stop carrying it. The first 3 days were fine - headache free too. By the next week I was feeling anxious and really exhausted even when I was sleeping fine. Kind of like a mental fog deal. I usually take my pill before work, so tonight I took it with a bowel of Bran cereal- packed with B vitamins and I felt like my usual self. No anxiety or heart racing - I also cut out caffeine and any headache meds with caffeine included. I also felt anxious and not myself on other pills too, so I changed my diet to stuff that was high in B and E vitamins and started taking a multi vitamin - it seems to really help with depression and the anxious feeling that comes with taking BC. I’m going to stay on this for a bit and hope for the best but just remember all BC pills have side effects. Estsarylla isn’t the best but it certainly isn’t the worst..."

"My pharmacy switched from Sprintec to Estarylla. I've taken it for less than a month. I've had breakthrough bleeding since mid-cycle. I've gained 6 pounds and my overall mood is terrible. I've called my doc and asked them to prescribe something else. I will not take Estarylla going forward."

"I gave Estarylla a 1 because of my side affects since starting it. Only good thing I can say about it is that I did not become pregnant while on it. Changed insurance last year & new insurance changed me to mononessa. Remained normal with period right on track. Four months ago insurance changed me again, to Estarylla. Since starting Estarylla I have had extreme weight gain, increased gas to the point of constantly bloated, very dry skin & acne, mood swings, crying about things that wouldn't bother me normally, increased depression, anxiety, & cramping in my legs. Period became completely off track after years of being balanced. For 4 months I have not known what day I would start, & either heavy or so light, from 3-7 days and the worst cramps of my life. Went to my GYN last week and she told me I should have called her sooner. Told her I was trying to give it a fair shot. She changed me to something else & I can't wait to start it. Estarylla has made me MISERABLE! If you have another option try that first."

"ANXIETY, DEPRESSION, AND FATIGUE! Been taking this medication for 2 weeks and my energy level dropped dramatically. Breast pain was severe. Trouble breathing because of the anxiety and I actually experienced a panic attack! This medication is DANGEROUS for me and for some people it cannot be safe to take!"

"I have been on Estarylla for almost 4 months now, and I have never felt like this in my life. Like many people on here as well, I was switched from Mononessa (which worked very well for me!) by either the pharmacy or my insurance without telling me beforehand. I have had several legitimate panic attacks, I have an unreasonable amount of anger and irritation, and feel so depressed that I no longer feel that I deserve love. When I first noticed I was put on this I saw that many people did not enjoy the side effects, but I wanted to give it a solid 3 months to see how I truly responded to it. I can say with confidence now that it is not worth ANYONE trying. There are so many other birth control options, try anything else before this one. I feel that if I were to continue on this medication for much longer I would begin to have suicidal thoughts, that's how bad this is. Please, do not take this medication."

"Okay let me just start with the first point. I do not like this birth control. I was originally on TriNessa Lo for awhile and didn’t really seem to have any serious problems with it at all. Now just this month I was switched to Estsrylla and didn’t seem bothered by it at first but once I hit the last week of my active pills, it was down hill from there. I have had severe anxiety and depression. Don’t want to do anything. I overthink everything. Feel like my chest is tight and have shortness of breath because the anxiety and couldn’t seem to feel my emotions. This went on from Sunday to now Saturday. 7 full days!!! I’m going to call my doctor this week and hopefully be able to be changed to a different brand or back to my old one"

"I took Estarylla for roughly 3 weeks. It was MISERABLE. I experienced bad hair loss, limp and lifeless DRIED out hair (nothing changed in my hair care but this pill), greasy skin/cystic acne, severe diarrhea, head aches, insomnia, yeast infection, brain fog/forgetfulness, my personality changed to be constantly grouchy/severely depressed/aggressive/full of rage. I was uncomfortably bloated and felt the immense urge to eat everything around me. I was a train wreck. I couldn't even finish the pack, I have to work full-time and the way it made me feel hindered that from happening. (I missed work several times because of how awful I felt). It affects everybody differently, so take that into consideration. I have a history of being intolerant to hormonal birth control pills and I also have a history of anxiety and depression."

"I went off birth control this past year after 10 years because I was having low libido. But I had to go back on birth because irregular periods. I went on Estarylla 1st week of April 2020. The 1st month wasn't bad, only a little decrease. Now it's month 2 and my libido is the worst EVER. I can't even have an orgasm at all. It's like someone turned off my clitoris, there is just zero feeling. I haven't had sex all of May. I don't want to continue Estarylla So, PROS: clear skin! I don't notice a difference in depression /mood swings. I've only been on this for 2 months meaning only 1 period, but I didn't have bad cramping/PMS. CONS: the non-existent sex drive. & my period was heavy & 6 long days. Slight nausea in week 1 of the pills during both months I've taken it. If my sex drive was in a more normal range while taking this, I would 100% stay on it, all other side effects are not bad at all. I know it's from this birth control the past year while I was off birth control my libido /sexual pleasure was much better."

"I’ve been taking the birth control for about 3 months and was terrified because of the reviews. I was afraid mostly of weight gain and mood swings. At the beginning there was some breast tenderness but that has completely gone away now. I have had zero side effects, except feeling a little nauseous the first couple days of the placebo pills (it goes away if I eat). It has also made my face feel a little rougher, but I am the only one who notices. Don’t know how it works for birth control yet because I am waiting until I get married in 2 months. I believe taking it at the same time every day helps effectiveness. I set my alarm to 4:45am and take it habitually every day. Like someone else said, trust your doctor and just try it. Every body is different and most side effects go away after about 3 months. Make sure you use it correctly, like taking it at the same time every day too!"

"I started taking this on the Sunday when my period started as directed. A few hours after taking the pill my whole body started tingling and I was experiencing insomnia. That night I laid still and try to ignore the tingling but it would build up and one small movement of my foot could make my entire body spasm. I had never felt this before in my life until I started taking Estarylla. I only took the pill twice and decided that I was done with not being able to sleep and constantly feeling tingly. Even after I stopped taking the pill my body was so affected by the pill that it is taking me a few days to finally flush it out of my system. Don't take Estarylla if you have the option of another birth control!!"

"I’ve been taking mononessa for about two years when my pharmacy switched me to estarylla without a heads up. I’ve only been on this new pill for 5 days and I already hate it. I have the most uncomfortable/painful constant itching on my vulva, paired with nausea every time I take the pill. I’ve been extremely on edge and grumpy. I can’t wait to switch. Would not recommend"

"I was on ortho tri cyclen for about 4 years then they made this generic and it's awful. I was already nervous considering there have been minimal positive reviews. I had no option but to switch. My mood swings are awful, I am constantly angry, it makes me sick, makes my whole body tingle.. DO NOT TAKE THIS! I will be calling my doctor to get off this pill..I refuse to finish the month it seems to only be getting worse. So once again... Do not take these tablets"
