"I was on this pill for a little over a year. It cleared my acne very well, it worked perfectly to prevent pregnancy (noted that I NEVER missed a pill and was NEVER more than 3 hours late.) I never had any negative side effects with this pill. Only thing that it did not solve was my awful period cramps. Did lessen my heavy bleeding, though."

"Okay, I was really nervous to take Estarylla because of all the bad reviews and I normally take Trinessa. Anyways, after I ran out of Trinessa, I decided to put on my big girl jeans and try out Estarylla. If the pill was gonna be bad for me, I was gonna stop taking it and request another birth control. When I took the first pill, I had a slight headache, but I still went to all my classes. By my third pill, I think I had a lil depression but I couldn't tell if it was the pill or just my college classes being tough on me. Regardless I still got my work and extracurricular activities done. Currently, I'm on Week 3 and I'm still alive!!! No headache, stomach pains, depression. I'm good. I think you, reader, need to be reminded that our body reacts differently to certain medication. Also my acne isn't bad either, my face is actually clearing up. Just know every lil pill is different. Good luck!"

"ive taken this pill one month and so far the first week I was absolutely fine then the second week I started to be a little bit down and then the third week I literally cried at least 3 times a day. I became very tired and I had no motivation to do anything I slept 12-14 hours or I didn't sleep at all I've been angry and irritable for the slightest things I am 15 and normally I'm a very bubbly positive energetic person and I don't even feel like me anymore and ive been really depressed. I'm very highly disappointed with this pill it was the first birth control I've ever used I used it to regulate my period so far it's done its job I suppose however the side effects and mood that I've been in are most certainly not worth it don't take it."

"I started taking pill form of birth control at the age of 16 and stopped at 23 when I experienced a pulmonary embolism in my lung due to this drug that almost killed me. On top of the blood clot, I had severe acute necrotizing pneumonia (which I believe I contracted due to the dead lung tissue from the blood clot.) I was in the best shape of my life in terms of fitness: a muay thai martial artist and a recreational body building weightlifter. My fitness & my youth saved my life. I was the sickest patient in the ICU stepdown. I still have PTSD. Think twice if you want to take this birth control. There are much safer options (such as Mirena IUD that I am now on). My gyno also had me on years of premarin which I had stopped taking months prior to my blood clot. Regardless of the premarin boosting my chances, it is still not worth the risk by taking this drug. Avoid taking this at all costs and use a safer birth control option that is non-systemic. It’s rare until it happens to you."

"Hello, So I've been on Estarylla 0.25mg for a month and half now. I've had such terrible experiences with birth control pills. But I can say theirs not too much bad I can say about Estarylla other than I am nauseous as if i'm pregnant. Mornings seem to be the worst I take my pill at night to help avoid sickness but I'm sick regardless. But I can say it's cleared up my ache and NO CRAZY MOOD SWINGS! Thank god.. NO MORE, depression, anxiety, night sweats, NO WEIGHT GAIN. I'm waiting on period #2 to see how my blood flow will be on this month because unlike the other pills I can say I had a longer period then the typical 3-4 days my period last month was a good 7-10 days. I am hoping this month will be lighter and my typical 3-4 days:)"

"Absolutely the worse BC I’ve been on in my 13+ years. I will refuse to accept this when I go in for a refill. This has given me horrible cramps, headache, breast pain and tenderness, mood swings, nausea and has killed my sex drive, definitely no way to get pregnant on this if you never want to do anything so I guess it works in that aspect. STAY AWAY I wish I would have known before leaving the pharmacy, I can’t wait for this to be over!"

"I got a severe leg blood clot (DVT) and lung blood clots (PE) from this birth control. I have been on it for a couple months and it has been confirmed from hematologists that I received my blood clots from this birth control. I would hate for anyone else to have to go through the pain and suffering I have from taking this pill. DO NOT TAKE"

"I’ve been taking Estarylla for about 4 months now. Before this I was taking sprintec and it seemed to be working just fine for me . The pharmacy changed the prescription saying that it was the same birth control with no different side effects. Wrong!!! I am a little bit of an emotional and sensitive person as it is, but this birth control has turned me into the worst emotional wreck that I have ever been!!! I am constantly nauseous with relief very rarely. Headaches come and go but it’s mostly the nausea, anxiety and depression. I definitely would not recommend this birth control to any girl who wants to keep their happy spirit alive and kicking. It’s terrible."

"The WORST! I was switched to after years of being on mononessa. Mononessa gave me no issues. I have never had depression before and over the last year I have been depressed, and one time I had suicidal thoughts. I get irate at small things .Like a coworker not refilling the handsoap or I would start crying when the person driving in front of me took too long to turn. I have always been a happy person and I never felt like myself when I was taking this pill. I am chronically fatigued all day, everyday. I can sleep 8 hours and still not want to get up. I started having to take naps daily because otherwise I can't even handle a small task, like the dishes. Gained a few pounds and even with exercising 5 days a week, and eating healthy I couldn't lose weight. I am a bubbly, active individual..not on this. I wasted over a year of my life, feeling crappy about myself & crying because of this pill. This pill has tormented me. My sex drive was weak. I hope no one else has to experience any of this."

"For the love of God do not take this medicine. MOOD SWINGS ARE NONSTOP. My poor boyfriend tried to tell me they started since I got on this pill. I didn't believe him until I read reviews and realized everyone who takes this has the same problem. I started this on the first Sunday which just happened to be the first day of my period. I've been on my period every week since I started taking this and I took the first sugar pill 3 days ago and now the bleeding is severe. My acne is awful and my boobs doubled in size from swelling. They don't even want to stay inside my bra. Do not take this. Please."

"I’ve taken Estarylla for 4 months now, and I’m getting headaches frequently, a metal taste in my mouth that comes and goes, low energy/lethargy pretty much all the time, appetite issues. Even when I’m eating well I still don’t feel right. The week before my period had come I had a variety of pregnancy symptoms, and I’ve had symptoms of anxiety and depression on and off. I’m not very thrilled with this birth control, and I’m thinking about either getting off of it or switching to something else."

"The first month of taking the Estarylla birth control was fine. However, by the second month I had gained about 10 lbs. No problems with acne, actually helped to clear it up. Boobs were a little bigger which was nice. HOWEVER!!!!! This birth control COMPLETELY dried up my vagina. Like literally bone dry. I have never had this problem with any birth control I've ever taken. Could not even get lubricated during self-pleasure. ALSO, I had spotting/breakthrough bleeding literally the entire time I was on this birth control which I've never experienced before. Even if I took it consistently every day at the same time I was bleeding almost every day. This birth control was a complete and total nightmare for those reasons. It had a huge negative impact on my sex life and self-confidence. The 3/10 was given simply because it cleared my skin and gave me (slightly) bigger boobs (probably due to weight gain). Do not recommend."

"As far as birth control, Extarylla works. My periods are regular and there is no spotting between them. As far as everything else, this pill is horrible. For the longest time I have not been able to figure out what was causing my anxiety and depressive episodes. I have always battled with anxiety, but this pill has made it so much worse. As soon as I stopped taking it I was anxiety free (outside of the normal), and my sex drive increased by miles. I wouldn’t recommend this pill to anyone, especially those who struggle with anxiety. Never again."

"I was on Estarylla for 3 1/2 months. I had never taken any birth control before starting it. I got bad cramping and heavy spotting in between periods. In the short amount of time taking Estarylla, I had gained about 30 pounds without changing diet or exercising or any other lifestyle changes. I literally went up two pant sizes and I was so bloated. My moods were completely uncomfortable and I didn’t even feel like myself. I am still trying to lose the weight and it’s been 8 months off of all birth control."

"I was originally on Sprintec then switched to Estarylla so I didn’t have to pay every month for birth control. I experienced weight gain at first, but once my body got used to the hormones my weight dropped down back to normal (but my boobs did get bigger so that’s a plus). I was so shocked to read all the negative reviews. I haven’t really ever had any problems on this birth control, no pregnancy scares, and my period is extremely regular. The only thing that’s annoying is that my period continues for an extra 3 days and it’s just really light spotting, but that also happened before I started birth control. My periods were extremely heavy, I’m talking bleeding through an ultra tampon after 3 hours, and now it is so much better. I do still have cramps, but they are so much better than they were prior to birth control."

"This pill actually made me depressed and anxious and nauseous to the point where I couldn't function. I took it for two years when I was first prescribed it because I never actually associated the symptoms to the pill until one day I brought up how I was nauseous all the time to my doctor and she recommended me switching pills. Once I got off this pill, I immediately felt happier and less anxious. It did prevent pregnancy, but literally whenever I would take even the tiniest drink of any kind of alcohol I'd be nauseous for the rest of the night. I recently took this pill again for a few days and these symptoms immediately returned. Never touching it again."

"hey yall, for reference I am 18 years old, and this would be my first ever birth control. I looked up reviews and am imminently terrified to start the pack. I actually did not start the pack until two weeks ago because of the reviews I've read on here. I did have a talk with my boyfriend and he reassured me that if I keep thinking negatively about it, then I will have a negative outcome, so I started the pack two weeks ago. On the first day of taking the pill, I felt extremely nauseous but it went away a couple of hours later and this is common for people starting birth control so I had no worries. So far the only side effects I've had is that I've realized that I'm eating more (increased appetite) which I didn't mind because I've started going to the gym, I've also had a higher sex drive. overall definitely try this birth control!! Everyone and every body is different and you never know!"

"I was switched to Estarylla last year after my pharmacy stopped carrying MonoNessa. Have had zero issues whatsoever—never experienced anything the other reviewers are mentioning. Seamless transition from my previous birth control, no side effects, and my cycle is very regular. It’s supposedly supposed to help with acne but I haven’t noticed a huge difference in my skin so I cant vouch for that, but as a birth control it works perfectly and I have zero complaints!"

"I have had a terrible time on this! I'm not taking anymore after this month. Emotionally I have been everywhere from crying over everything to wanting to be alone all the time. Depression has been awful and my boobs have been sore for a month. Everyone keeps telling me I'm all the sudden acting crazy and I believe it. I definitely dont recommend this pill!"

"What a HORRIBLE medication!!! I started taking this pill after my 2nd baby I noticed mood swings but I thought it was just my hormones after having a baby but it got worse, after a month of been on this pill I was either angry or sad all the time, very unhappy I refused to believe that it could be depression but i started to find my self crying in my room alone, anxious just not feeling myself. That is not all I thought I had some kind of stomach virus for a moth and it wasn't going away, nauseous, vomiting, dizziness and severe headache. It felt like stroke waiting to happen. DO NOT TAKE THIS PILL!!!"

"PLEASE LISTEN TO THESE REVIEWS! THE WORST BC PILL EVER. I'm 18 and was getting terrible migraines so my doctor prescribed this pill in order to help with them. The pill did help with them but that is about the extent to which these pills did something good for me. The first 2 months of taking these pills I experienced Nausea EVERY morning. I also started experiencing actual panic attacks which I had never had before. The first 3 months I didn't experience a weight gain so I thought I lucked out but nope.. In about 3 weeks I gained over 8 lbs without a change in my diet or life style. For the past month I have been eating healthier and exercising to try and shed the lbs but nothing seems to work. I am also bloated all of the time. My anxiety and depression have been crazy lately and I just do not feel like myself. Tomorrow is my last day on this pill and I could not be happier. Please do not take this pill."

"DO NOT TAKE THIS PILL. I was on mononessa for years and loved it until the pharmacy switched it to this garbage. At first it was typical, but by the 3rd week my health flipped. My anxiety and depression got so bad, I was feeling nauseous and lightheaded all day, I had so much trouble breathing, had low self-esteem and was overthinking everything and couldn’t handle stress, I was exhausted all the time but would wake up constantly with chills, and my heart was racing nonstop. I finally realized the only thing that’s different was this stupid pill so I quit taking it, but not before my doctor informed me I now have an overactive thyroid that was likely brought on by this. For mental and physical health, don’t accept this pill."

"This will be the 6th month I've been on Estarylla, but I'm going to stop taking it & find another birth control. Although it's done its job with preventing pregnancy, this certain pill makes me much more emotionally unstable. Before taking it I was a social & overall happy person but now I get upset over the most insignificant things, push people away, feel anxious/sad more often than I'm happy. :( It's even affected my relationship with my boyfriend bc he thinks I'm always sad around him but it's just this dang pill messing with my emotions! I know medications affect people differently, but from seeing the other reviews just be warned that this pill can increase depression, mood swings, anxiety, etc."

"I am a 35 yr. old mom of 2. My Dr. put me on this to help with severe period cramps and possible endometriosis diagnosis. I've only been on birth control prior to my kids (husband is fixed now) who are now 9 and 11. Been on this for one month and I've gained 6 lbs! Mind you, I am normally very active (I teach cycle class 5 days a week) and eat healthy, but this the weight gain is crazy! Also, I have had weird tingling feelings, and have been supper unmotivated to do anything! I though I had a weird flu, because I could not figure out where all my energy went?! Stopping immediately, hopefully I'll find better relief with another pill. Thanks for all the reviews! I know everyone reacts differently but it's comforting to know I'm not alone."
