Reviews for Taytulla

"For the girls thinking about starting Taytulla and reading the reviews from people who stopped it too soon. (with in reason of course - health first) I stayed on it for my body to adjust and didn't stop a few weeks or months in because of side effects. Yes, you're going to get side effects, you're messing with your bodies hormones, expect them. For the first few 2-3 months, I got headaches constantly, almost zero appetite, and my anxiety had hit panic levels, paranoia and light mood swings, on the side of crying more. But after the side effects wore off it's perfect. I never gained weight, (have acne as I did before) no cramping, light periods, I went up a cup size, and not pregnant. Personal warnings: I will warn about, coffee and caffeine, one of the side effects is a type of sensory overload when mixed with caffeine, I switched to decaf as I drink coffee for taste. Read what interacts with Taytulla, types of teas and detox. Side effects with medicine, vitamins, and herbal supplements."

"This Taytulla pill was awful for me! I have never had anxiety before and this pill made it happen. I would literally have anxiety when I was talking to my friends. It also dried out my lips. I had dry flaky skin on and around my lips. I would never recommend this to anyone!"

"This birth control worked well for controlling my period but my emotional state was in absolute shambles. For 8+ months I had horrible anxiety and would cry about almost everything which I blamed on myself just being an emotional person. After not taking the pills for a few weeks I feel like a whole new person and I am not nearly as emotional or sad all the time. Would not recommend."

"I usually don't write reviews for things, I just read them most of the time... but I felt that I should leave a comment after seeing how most of the other reviews were negative. I've been taking Taytulla for 4 going on 5 years now! I've never had issues really other than usually around the middle of my cycle I will bleed a little bit for a day. Other than that this birth control has been great! I never experienced sickness, and I never lost/gained a ton of weight. I overall think this birth control is great especially for women who have low hormone levels and need a boost to get them back where they need to be."

"I am getting married! I am very self conscious of weight gain, side effects, and making sure everything falls into place. I have no need to take the pill until a month from my wedding, but I thought: I’m introducing hormones into my body I know I will have side effects. How I handled taking it: 1. I take it at night before I sleep (I still feel side effects because it happens) 2. I drink water 3. I keep a diary!!! My entry of the first seven pills; I started taking Taytulla on June 17th. The most common side effect I had was headaches. I had a little nausea, I noticed after my fifth pill I did have ovary pain. I didn’t gain weight during the first week- I lost weight because I’m trying to! I went down two healthy pounds! My first week was a success! Today I began my second week of Taytulla. I still have my diary of small entries of how I react so I plan to continue this so I can update you! My measurements are 29”-26”-34” for reference and my weight is 113!"

"I didn’t experience one good thing with this medicine. I have never had a problem with acne until I started this pill. It was uncontrollable. I gained 11 pounds in 3 months even with being extra cautious with what I was eating. I slowly started slipping into depression and having really bad anxiety attacks. I was extremely nauseated at the beginning. My heart rate was always extremely fast. I cried ALL the time. There is not a single good thing about this pill!"

"After 2 days, I'm stopping this pill. Migraine, nausea, barely slept. Looked up the reviews because I experienced these symptoms and was stunned at how many women had a negative experience. ***Do NOT Recommend**"

"This medication changed me inside and out. I experienced nausea, bleeding, acne, anxiety, depression, irritability, loss of focus and felt like I was losing it. The chemical hormonal imbalance changed my demeanor completely. I began to have panic attacks and called my doctor. I had a consult and prescription was changed right away. I would not recommend this drug to anyone due to the side effects that I personally experienced as I would not want another to endure the same. 1 month was enough, I began to mellow out but decided against staying on it due to the severity of the side effects. It took another 2 weeks to feel normal again."

"This birth control was the worst I have ever been on. It was the first one I ever tried and made me gain 25 pounds in about 2 months. It was horrible and I still haven't been able to lose the weight. I do not recommend whatsoever"

"I took Taytulla for two months and had to stop due to side effects. My blood pressure was high about 178/114 and my pulse was about 120 to 130. I started developing chest pains and shortness of breath and had to go to the emergency room. I had to wear a halter monitor for three days to record my heart activity. I also developed insomnia and anxiety and had to to take anti anxiety medication."

"So I've been on Taytulla for over a month now. I love this birth control! But I must say that when I started out, I had EXTREME fatigue and weakness my body felt so little. But after that I was back to my normal self unlike some other forms such as Nexplanon where you bleed for a long time. I was going to go on Nexplanon but I just couldn't do it worrying about all the really bad reviews so I stuck with Taytulla and it is amazing! I just gotta keep reminding myself to take it everyday and not forget. Overall, would recommend this!"

"I’ve had my fair share of experiences with birth controls from the migraines everyday to bleeding for weeks at a time to anxiety to depression. Taytulla was my last try at it & I must say I’m pleasantly surprised I was on a generic of the same dosage and had a list of issues none of which I have now with this birth control! On Taytulla I have no anxiety no migraines no depression I had mild spotting getting used to it but now everything is fine, my horrible periods are now only about 4 days. I will say that cramping is still really bad but way lighter ! I love this birth control, life saver!"

"This is the 4th birth control I've tried. I get terrible cramps, vomit, headaches, etc. while on my period and while other pills have alleviated those issues, they had their own side effects (moodiness, anxiety, weight gain, etc.) I got an IUD 8 months ago and cramped every day, PLUS I got terrible cystic acne, so I got that out. I got put on Taytulla immediately after getting my IUD removed. I was super skeptical from all of the bad reviews, but this pill is AWESOME. No change in mood, I've definitely had an increased appetite but no weight gain, no change in drive, no headaches, no cramps, it cleared my acne, and my breasts went up 1/2 a cup size. Only cons: noticeable breast tenderness and I have not had a period since taking it. (my gyno said this was normal & I am not pregnant.) All in all, super happy."

"This birth control worked amazingly well, until about 6 months in. I experienced a substantial worsening of my anxiety symptoms at about that time. Since doctors always say that anxiety side effects will peak at the beginning and then go away, it took me months to realize that the birth control might be causing it. And what do you know, one month off of this drug and I am feeling way better, almost back to normal. I can actually talk to strangers without wanting to launch myself into the sun. Just be careful if you take this drug, the side effects can come later."

"I was on a different birth control for 2 years but decided to stop because I wanted to stop my period. I have been on taytulla for only a week and have never in my life experienced this kind of depression. My anxiety is also through the roof and I’ve been very nauseous. I have no energy to do anything and fell behind on my work drastically. Wanted to wait this out but it’s ruining relationships around me and overall not worth it. This has affected me mentally so horribly I’m taking immediate action to get off of it. I would not recommend"

"I just finished my fourth pack. I am pleased with the product, and like most, was nervous because of the reviews. The first month was mood swing after mood swing and some nausea but* after that hump I’ve been smooth sailing. I have bleeding for 2-3 days which is nice compared to the long 7 days without it and the normal period before and during symptoms. The only thing that hurts is the price. My insurance covers about 75% so it’s still pretty expensive. I have had no weight gain or crazy acne. I will take this pill as long as I can afford it."

"I've been on taytulla for more than 6 month and it has been the worst experience of my life. I've had constant migraines, no sex drive, my anxiety and depression has been through the roof, my period is non existent which I don't think is normal or healthy. I've been so nauseaous and so moody it's crazy. I DO NOT recommend this pill to anyone. Stay far away from it as possible. I am hoping to look for another pill or maybe an IUD."

"I'm 26 years old and have been on birth control pills since I was 16. I have never had children and weigh 115 lbs. I had always taken a low hormone pill previously and had no notable side effects on or off the pill. For the past 4 months I've been on Taytulla and its a nightmare. My PMS symptoms are out of control. I cry all the time now, especially a week or 2 before my period, I will have multiple full-scale, sobbing episodes. This is not normal for me at all. My nipples are so sore they can't be touched almost all month. I spot in between my periods now. I have bled heavily (almost like my period starting) after pretty mild and well-lubricated sex. I realized this month that Taytulla is a really high dose of estrogen/estradiol (1mg) and my old birth control had 0.035 mg!! That is a HUGE difference in estrogen. Also it costs $170 per month without insurance! I'm getting off it next week when my cycle ends. Good riddance."

"I've been on the pill almost 3 months. My acne has cleared up but I get terrible cramps that have woken me up at night. I also spot a ton. I'll go about 4 days of normal feeling fantastic then I'll spot for 3 days then start to feel normal and then spot for a couple days again, constantly all month. It's light which is a relief but I hate having to constantly worry about when I'm gonna bleed again. My breasts have been tender and grown a bit which I don't mind. I haven't had any headaches, the cramps and spotting are my only concerns. I'm staying on this pill to hope it clears up in a couple months. It's also super nice because my insurance coverage is amazing and they have a $25 a month deal that came with my sample, so I've only have to pay $5 for a total of 5 packs!!!!"

"Been on this birth control for about a five months. Although the pill completely stopped my periods. I’ve had uncontrollable mood swings. Many panic attacks, paranoia and signs of depression. Also worsened my cramping and made me lose 10lbs (which I have issues with gaining weight). Thinking about stopping the pill completely to see if i’ll go back to being myself. DO NOT take this pill if you have an issue with anxiety or depression!!"

"Although I did experience some rough spots during the first 3 months (some bleeding, anxiety and paranoia, etc.) it’s actually levelled itself out completely! I’ve been on it for about 6 months now and it feels like I’m not even taking a birth control pill which is great! Light periods, little to no cramping, no babies. It worked well for me!"

"This is the worst medication. It made my life a living hell. I had two periods a week. Gained 20 pounds. My acne is terrible, my cramps are terrible, and my anxiety is so much worse because of it. DO NOT TAKE THIS MEDICATION. Worst thing that has ever happened to me."

"I have been in Taytulla for about a month and a half now. This is the first type of BC I have ever tried. Since starting, my periods have stopped with some breakthrough bleeding in the first month and now just some light spotting. After reading these reviews, I understand why I have been so emotional. I am known for my thick skin, but after starting this pill, I noticed I would become so upset, almost to the point of crying, which is NOT me. Also, I just had my first anxiety attack EVER. I have never struggled with depression or anxiety in the past, but now I feel in a constant slump which scares me. My once clear skin is now in a terrible breakout. I understand that I still need to give time for my hormone levels to balance, but is this normal? Especially a "mild" BC like my gyno described it as? I feel like a pimpled face hormonal freak, which is making me crazy. I am planning to finish out my sample pack. Set an appointment this week with my GYNO to hopefully resolve this issue..."
