"I have been taking this medication since October (now it is early January), and since October, I have been depressed and have anxiety and panic attacks. Then the light bulb turned on in my head that this all started since I started this birth control and did not realize it till my mom told me. I have been off it for a few days, and so far, so good."

"This pill was nightmarish. My doctor recommended it to me, and it made me a crazy person. Panic attacks daily, self-harm, depression, dark thoughts. I’ve never been like that, and I haven’t been like that since I got off. It seems like other people had similar experiences. Onto the next pill, I suppose."

"I had been taking Taytulla for almost 2 years. Since previous birth control had given me lots of stomach problems, Taytulla seemed to lessen them, although they were still there. I take Taytulla consistently so I do not get a period, this was recommended by my doctor and is completely safe. However, within the past 6 months, my sex drive has not only been low, but I have experienced extreme pain with sex. Come to find out, the pill was not fully stopping my periods correctly and actually caused me to grow a few cysts that have had complications. Ever since discovering this and really looking into the past few months, I have realized the pill has done nothing but make my life miserable. I have lost hair, had 13-day long breakthrough bleeding, and my depression and anxiety have been the worst it has ever been. Each pill has different effects for everyone, but this was my experience, and after the recent recall of this product, I do not feel it has worked properly."

"I've been on the pill almost 3 months. My acne has cleared up, but I get terrible cramps that have woken me up at night. I also spot a ton. I'll go about 4 days of normal feeling fantastic, then I'll spot for 3 days, then start to feel normal and then spot for a couple of days again, constantly all month. It's light, which is a relief, but I hate having to constantly worry about when I'm gonna bleed again. My breasts have been tender and grown a bit, which I don't mind. I haven't had any headaches, the cramps and spotting are my only concerns. I'm staying on this pill to hope it clears up in a couple of months. It's also super nice because my insurance coverage is amazing, and they have a $25 a month deal that came with my sample, so I've only had to pay $5 for a total of 5 packs!!!!"

"Been on this birth control for about five months. Although the pill completely stopped my periods, I’ve had uncontrollable mood swings, many panic attacks, paranoia, and signs of depression. Also worsened my cramping and made me lose 10 lbs (which I have issues with gaining weight). Thinking about stopping the pill completely to see if I’ll go back to being myself. DO NOT take this pill if you have an issue with anxiety or depression!!"

"I've been taking this pill for almost 3 years now, and I'm quite happy with it. Overall, the results have been great. My adult acne is gone. I don't suffer heavy periods where I have to sleep with a towel under me at night. I don't have to skip work because my period cramps are so painful. The horrible PMS irritability has subsided for the most part. As for the side effects: - Gained around 10 lbs initially (which I've since lost) - My boobs have gotten slightly bigger (a plus for me!) - My hair isn't as curly as it used to be. I've heard this can happen during pregnancy, so that would make sense that it happens with birth control since it tricks your body into thinking you're pregnant - Lower sex drive - No periods - seems a bit unnatural, but I'm not complaining. Up to the first year, I did feel a little wonky and emotional at times. I'm not sure if this is the birth control to blame, but I do think it's leveled out. Happy to be on this stuff and baby-free!"

"This birth control was the worst I have ever been on. It was the first one I ever tried and made me gain 25 pounds in about 2 months. It was horrible, and I still haven't been able to lose the weight. I do not recommend whatsoever."

"This birth control caused sharp, excruciating pain in my lower abdomen in the beginning, and I could barely walk without feeling like someone was stabbing my insides. Hopefully, it goes away soon, though."

"Although I did experience some rough spots during the first 3 months (some bleeding, anxiety, and paranoia, etc.), it’s actually leveled itself out completely! I’ve been on it for about 6 months now, and it feels like I’m not even taking a birth control pill, which is great! Light periods, little to no cramping, no babies. It worked well for me!"

"TAKE CAUTION. My 18-year-old daughter was prescribed Taytulla three weeks ago. She checked herself into a psych ward today. She never had signs of depression. I am convinced it is this drug. She won't be taking the medication tonight; we will see how she feels tomorrow. This drug has been on the market for less than 2 years. Never again. Report side effects to the FDA: https://www.accessdata.fda.gov/scripts/medwatch/index.cfm?action=reporting.home"

"Although Taytulla worked in preventing pregnancy, I've been miserable the past two months. Starting with nausea and sharp pains in my stomach, exhaustion, and no appetite, to wanting to eat everything in sight. Then, missing my period for the second round of pills and feeling a false sense of pregnancy, so took two tests, both negative. I don't recommend this pill to anyone with anxiety or depression. Feelings of sickness heightened both."

"I've been taking Taytulla for 4 months now, and from day one it has been great for me. I never had any nausea, but I did notice that I was a little more emotional than usual during the first week or two that I started taking it, but after that everything was perfectly fine. My breasts did increase in size, and my period got much lighter to where I would only spot for one day. Now, I do not have a period at all, which I love. In my opinion, this is a great birth control, and I've recommended it to multiple people who ended up loving it as well. It is all based on your body and how it reacts with the medication. I'm thankful it worked out great for me!"

"I’ve been on this birth control for a month this week, and I thought I liked it up until these last few days. I’ve noticed a lot of mood swings, increased anxiety, and this little part of me wants to say depression, but I’m not sure if my increased anxiety is making it worse for me. Enough for me to bring it up to my primary care doctor. For the past few days, I’ve been having anxiety about having depression, as if I’m scared to become depressed, and I don’t like it AT ALL. I originally started this birth control because I’ve had irregular periods since I had my baby a year and a half ago, but unfortunately it’s a huge no for me."

"This is the only BC I’ve ever been on, so I don’t really have anything to compare it to, but overall I’ve had a great experience! I used to have unbearably painful cramps and a super heavy flow when I got my periods, and Taytulla has completely eliminated that for me. It’ll make me a bit nauseous for a day or two, but it’s honestly a fair trade-off considering how terrible my periods were. I only get one for like 1-2 days now, and my acne has also cleared up. I’m a runner and have had my fastest season to date while on this BC, so yes. It’s been good."

"I have tried every form of birth control, with the exception of an IUD, and I find this pill to be the most successful one by far. It took my body just two months to properly adjust to the timing of the active pills. I've been on this now going on 5 months, and I couldn't be happier. My period lasts between 2-4 days, my cramps are very light. I do not get any negative side effects like some people have mentioned, I get less acne during my ovulation period, and my headaches have gone away. My bf and I have unprotected sex around 3 times a day, and so far, so good! I can't say that everyone will benefit the same as I have, but if there were a BC that I could recommend to anyone, it would be this one."

"So, I started Taytulla, and at first I was skeptical. I was so scared from the reviews, but I have to say (even though I've been on it for a little over a week) that this pill has so far been pretty good. I do have some stomach pain at certain times that is a little weird, but I can handle that. I do not really have nausea, and my anxiety has actually been better, I also sleep better. However, I must say, and this is in no way a bad thing, my sex drive has been through the roof. But I have also noticed that I have been hungrier. Food tastes even better than usual, but I can control myself with that. I have a little bit of a headache sometimes, but not very often, and they aren't bad headaches either. So far, I really like this birth control! I would definitely recommend!"

"This medication changed me inside and out. I experienced nausea, bleeding, acne, anxiety, depression, irritability, loss of focus, and felt like I was losing it. The chemical hormonal imbalance changed my demeanor completely. I began to have panic attacks and called my doctor. I had a consult, and the prescription was changed right away. I would not recommend this drug to anyone due to the side effects that I personally experienced, as I would not want another to endure the same. One month was enough, I began to mellow out but decided against staying on it due to the severity of the side effects. It took another two weeks to feel normal again."

"I got put on Taytulla because my body is sensitive to hormones. I’ve always had problems being on birth control with bad mood swings and depression. My doctor recommended this to me because it’s a low dose. I’m on my 3rd pack right now. The first month I broke out on my face really bad, but it cleared up on the second pack! It completely stopped my period, I have no PMS symptoms at all! I take my pill every day at the same time. I took a test just to make sure I’m not pregnant! I did gain a few pounds, nothing too major. Other than that, I love this birth control!"

"I was prescribed Taytulla by my doctor to see if it would help with my seizures (which are hormone-based). I took this pill for two weeks and a day. I had a seizure, nausea and vomiting, bloatedness, horrible anxiety, and blurred vision. I still am suffering from the anxiety and blurred vision, but I know it will take time for this to get out of my system. I felt crazy on this pill. Never again will I take something like Taytulla."

"I’ll start off by saying this pill gave me all the side effects, but at least I didn't get pregnant, which was the point. I’ve gained 17 pounds of weight in the 8 months I’ve been on it. I'm ALWAYS bloated, my anxiety is on 1000, and it’s hard for me to do simple tasks without being overwhelmed by my emotions. Other than the weight gain, anxiety, and extreme mood swings, the pill did what it was supposed to do. Every body reacts differently."

"DO NOT TAKE THIS PILL IF YOU WANT TO LIVE! I've taken birth control pills from my teen years to my early 30s. I got off of them for a while. My OB-GYN prescribed Taytulla 3/31/18. I had my cycle in mid-March. I took Taytulla for nearly a year. I didn't have a cycle for the entire time that I was on this pill, and I thought that was odd since I never had that experience with any other BC pill. My doctor said it was okay, so I kept taking it. I had shortness of breath, severe sweating, and then passed out and had to go to the ER in February 2019. The ER admitted me for DVT (deep vein thrombosis) and PE (pulmonary embolism). I had blood clots in my legs and both lungs. It was due to this birth control pill. I literally almost died! It's now September 2019, and I am still on blood thinners to treat the blood clots in my legs (thankful the more dangerous ones in my lungs went away shortly after starting the blood thinners). My cycle still hasn't returned. Lastly, I lost 10 lbs immediately after stopping the pill."

"I switched to Taytulla birth control at the end of December. I had always had my period on time. I took it for a month and was very nauseous and crampy the entire time. It got rid of my period completely and made me very paranoid. I also blacked out one morning because my blood pressure dropped from this pill. I do not recommend."

"I was on Taytulla for 3 weeks and stopped. I had a lot of hair loss, and it started my period after I just had my period and still hasn't stopped. I also had a constant headache. I was super tired my last few days on this pill before I gave up on this. Not sure about mood, but who would be happy with all these side effects? I'm happy I stopped taking this :)"

"I was on Lo Loestrin and became dangerously depressed, angry, and began having horrible anxiety. My doc took me off and put me on Taytulla, which has been the best pill I've been on. My periods are super light, my skin is clear even right before my period, and no weight gain. MOSTLY, I don't feel the rage I was feeling on Lo Lo."

"I just finished my fourth pack. I am pleased with the product, and like most, was nervous because of the reviews. The first month was mood swing after mood swing and some nausea, but after that hump I’ve been smooth sailing. I have bleeding for 2-3 days, which is nice compared to the long 7 days without it and the normal period before and during symptoms. The only thing that hurts is the price. My insurance covers about 75%, so it’s still pretty expensive. I have had no weight gain or crazy acne. I will take this pill as long as I can afford it."
