"I am in my second full month of taking this pill, and it's the best I've ever been on. My period is so much shorter and lighter... before this pill, it was nightmarishly heavy. I haven't experienced any side effects. I feel less bloated and moody than any other pill I've ever tried. I actually just feel normal, like I'm not on any pill at all. I've tried 4-5 other BC pills, and all gave me side effects like melasma, spotting, bloating, or yeast infections, but I have none of that now. I couldn't be more pleased."

"I went on Taytulla because my old birth control (Ortho Tri-Cyclen) had 7 inactive pills and it sucked, but this only has 4, and it has helped my periods a ton!!! It's really effective at preventing pregnancy (accidentally tested that out), and my emotional/acne problems have actually decreased since I started using a combo of this and Synthroid. I highly recommend you try it out, and you just gotta remember that the first few weeks' side effects are gonna be weird no matter what birth control you're on."

"This birth control is an amazing match for me. I started this pill 4 months ago and was honestly scared - lots of my friends told me about their weight gain, anxiety, and sudden waves of sadness. This pill has had no impact on my emotional state, and I personally have lost 16 pounds (with no lifestyle change). Overall, my periods are really light, I’m happy, and protected! Love this pill."

"My doctor put me on the Taytulla pill at age 45 to alleviate heavy periods. This pill has caused me to gain 80 pounds over the course of three years. I was constantly bloated and had “puffy face.” I eat clean and run 3-6 miles every day. As long as I took this pill, getting the weight off was impossible. Since stopping Taytulla a couple of months ago, I feel so much better, and the weight is starting to come off. Please do not take this pill!!"

"I have been taking this birth control for almost a year now, and this has been the only one to work for me without any spotting or nausea, etc. I love the gel capsules, they do not make me sick at all. I suffer from migraines but haven't had many since being on this pill. My acne has gone away, and I have picked up a little weight gain that was much needed, as I was only 107 lbs. My breasts have increased a size and a half, and I love that too. As with any birth control, some is not for anyone. If it doesn't work for you, that doesn't mean it's a poor product. Everyone's body is different and will react to medications differently. For me, this was the only birth control that worked for me, and I love it."

"This was my first time on birth control. My first 3 months, I had this horrible nausea that caused me to stop eating. I adjusted the time I was taking the pill to see if that would do anything. Instead of taking it in the afternoon, I started taking it at night before I went to bed. This helped dramatically, except when I started a new pack. The first week during sometime in the week, I got this horrible nausea that caused me to not be able to eat or go to school. It also caused my stomach to be very sensitive for the rest of the day. Regardless, I continued to take it, and these last 3 months have been the worst of my life. School has been very stressful, and the pill has only made things worse. I have never in my life had bad anxiety or depression. I’m a very positive person, but school along with this pill has caused extreme anxiety and depressive episodes for me. For the first time in my life, I had mental breakdowns wherever I went, cried myself to sleep at night, and had really dark thoughts."

"After having a copper IUD for four years, I went on Taytulla after my doctor recommended I get my IUD removed. I didn't experience any noteworthy side effects. I didn't gain weight, experience acne, or have mood swings. The first month I spotted some when my period was supposed to come, but after the first month, my period completely stopped. I was worried at first that I might be pregnant, I even took a few pregnancy tests, but they were always negative. I still get some cramping and other PMS symptoms when on the placebo pills, but I don't bleed. I would consider this a benefit to Taytulla. The only reason I'm switching brands is that I got new insurance, and Taytulla is $50 a month, so I'm trying a lower-cost option. If that one doesn't work out, I will definitely switch back to Taytulla."

"Every woman is different, so everyone will have different reactions to Taytulla. I’m 18, and this was the first birth control I was put on. I was worried at first because I had read all these awful reviews, but so far, everything has been good! I’m about to start my third pack, and I haven’t noticed any major side effects. For the first few days, I broke out a little more than usual, but I found that my skin actually started clearing up after that. My only problem is that my period doesn’t come when it’s time to start taking the inactive pills. But since I’ve only been taking it for two months, I know that my body might not be completely synced up with it yet. My periods are lighter: I only bleed for one day, then it tapers off!"

"I took Taytulla at the advice of my gyn because of my heavy and painful periods, which were awful. After having a D and C, and a year later, a uterine biopsy, I thought I should start something to help with the low progesterone. Mirena was not an option because I didn’t want that in my body. For the first five days, I had no issues with Taytulla, but the bleeding then continued for 14 days, but not heavy like my old periods. Then I noticed I couldn’t sleep well, my anxiety is high, and I’m cranky and moody. My heart feels like it’s going to come out of my chest and has been occurring since after the first week of taking this. I also have cramps with it. I am not going to continue taking this stuff. The side effects are dangerous and life-threatening. I don’t know what my options are, but I’ll finish this pack and call my doctor today for something else or nothing at all."

"The first packet I went through required quite the adjustment. I bled the entire first month I was on this pill (probably because I was suffering from amenorrhea for almost 8 months), and I got some acne (I've never struggled with acne before, but this wasn't too serious). The bleeding/spotting stopped immediately when I began my second packet of Taytulla. The acne is still there, but it's not bad. I've also felt much more like myself emotionally since beginning this pill. When I go long periods of time without menstruating, I start becoming depressed and unmotivated. This pill has been great for solving several of my hormonal imbalances, and I plan on sticking with it."

"Taytulla has been super effective for me! I’ve tried dozens of birth controls, and this is the first one that’s cleared my acne and given me regular periods! I wouldn’t say I’ve gained any abnormal weight, I’ve only grown in breast size, which I’m okay with. But remember that this is a review personal to me, others say it’s the worst BC out there... everybody is different, and you shouldn’t rely on a website review to determine your BC."

"My daughter is 31 and started on Taytulla 6 months ago. Two weeks ago she experienced right side numbness while taking a shower before work. She was rushed to the hospital at 6:15 a.m. with right side paralysis and yellowing whites of her eyes. By 8:30 a.m. they came to us with her CT results. She had a 3 cm tumor on the motor skills portion of her brain, which all the doctors here in Tennessee said was inoperable. The only change in her medications and environmental factors was the introduction of Taytulla. Leading up to her diagnosis, she suffered terrible mood swings, anxiety attacks, and night sweats. After further investigation of this medication, you can see that 3.3 out of 100,000 developed some type of liver tumor. The greed in this country has made it acceptable to give a 3.3 a death sentence if it works for 99,997 women. This is unacceptable in my book! Shame on you!!!"

"My doctor switched me to Taytulla after being on Loestrin for nearly ten years. He claimed he was switching me so that I would have an even lower dose of hormones since I had been on birth control for a long period of time. I wasn’t really happy about switching. Well, fast forward only four months later, and I was in the ER with severe chest pains, blood pressure of 190/130, and a pulse of over 170 BPM. After a CT scan, it was determined I had a pulmonary embolism. A very large one was found in my left lung, along with many small ones found in both lungs. All of my doctors have narrowed the cause down to birth control. I never had a single issue with taking Loestrin, and only four months after switching, I have a PE. I don’t think it was a coincidence that it happened after switching to Taytulla. Please be cautious and advocate for yourself if you know something is not normal."

"Most people leave reviews only if something is bad, so I figured I'd come to leave a positive review so fewer people are scared to try this birth control. I have only had positive experiences with this BC. I never had bad cramps or long periods before I took the pill, and this pill has kept it that way. I haven't gained weight, I haven't gotten more acne, and my mood hasn't changed. This pill works great for me."

"I was given Taytulla after using Minastrin 24 for a year (which worked great). After taking it for a few months, my anxiety (which I had before taking it but was under control) became so much worse, and I began having panic attacks every day, and I actually became depressed despite having no history of it. These issues, along with extreme mood swings/irritability, frequent headaches, fatigue, and lack of motivation to do anything (despite being a motivated person before), caused me to switch back to Minastrin, even though I had to pay more because my insurance doesn't cover it. To me, paying extra is way better than having to go on this pill again, which I would not recommend to anyone, especially those who have anxiety/depression to begin with."

"I have PCOS, and this is easily my 15th BC I have been on since I was 16 (25 now). I have been on it for 5 months, and I'm lucky if I even get spotting. It skips periods, which is not safe to me. I have horrible headaches, some weight gain, breast tenderness, and exhaustion. I am a very active person, typically 4-6 days at the gym, and can't find motivation to do ANYTHING anymore. I have 0 motivation for life. I would stay away from this pill if you're sensitive to birth control side effects. My OB is switching me to OVCON 35, fingers crossed. Any other ladies face issues finding the right BC who have PCOS?"

"So the last month and a half, I have had anxiety and mood swings through the dang roof. My poor fiancé has been having it so rough. I thought something was seriously wrong with me, and I was about to call my family doctor to schedule an appointment (anxiety is normal for me, but not at this level by far). Everything and everyone makes me soooo mad and emotional. I’m not normally a cow! I’m a happy person! Reading these comments and putting two and two together is such a relief because I’m not going crazy! I’m going to talk to my OB very soon. Good luck, ladies."

"Taytulla is my first birth control pill that I’ve used. The first day I took it, I became VERY nauseated. The first two weeks were fine, my skin got a little better, not a lot of side effects. But then I started randomly bleeding, and it kept getting heavier and heavier. I have now been heavily bleeding for 5 days straight and there’s no sign that it’s going to stop. The cramps that go along with it have been terrible and stopped me from being able to keep up with my usual gym routine. This pill also has made me cry nearly every day this week, and I’m not usually an emotional person like that. This is possibly one of the worst decisions I have made to take it, and if I could give 0 stars, I would. Absolutely awful side effects!"

"First birth control medicine and the worst thing ever. Went on to regulate periods. That was the only issue I ever had. Now, after being on it for 7 months, here is what’s happening: increased heart rate, headaches, anxiety, and constant breakthrough bleeding for 10+ days a month on top of the actual period I get. Called the doctor, and they just keep telling me it takes a while for your body to adjust to birth control. That is ridiculous since it has already been 7 months. Hoping to either get new medicine or I will be done with birth control pills for good."

"I have never had a single side effect, and Taytulla is the only birth control that I have ever used! I have been on it for over a year and a half, and it works great for me!! The only thing I’ve noticed is that I haven’t really had my period the way I used to (no, I’m not pregnant :) ), but other than that, I love it!"

"This pill is awful! Wish I would have read these reviews before starting. THIS IS ALL TRUE-- depression, anxiety, headaches, nightmares, nausea, weight gain, sore breasts, tired all the time. I've only been on it 3 days (just threw away the pack) and very in touch with my body. I knew immediately that this was the cause of all these negative symptoms. I will NEVER ingest this pill again!"

"I actually haven’t had any problems with Taytulla. I got a 3-month sample pack from my doctor. I had the Implanon for about 4 years before this with many issues. On Taytulla, my periods have been only around 4 days long, which has been an amazing change. I just called to get a refill because I ran out of the sample packs, and it was $323 with my insurance, which I think is insane, so I will be switching to a different pill that’s more affordable. But besides the price, the pill worked great for me with no negative side effects."

"Went on Taytulla to help with very heavy bleeding. I’ve stopped my 3rd packet of Taytulla today. I looked so big in the pictures from one of my best friend's weddings. Very depressing after torturing myself with wedding prep... All my life, I’ve enjoyed working out, but since starting Taytulla, I haven’t. While Taytulla cleared up my mild acne and made my period light, it is not worth it for me to continue on this. Light bleeding for half the month, constantly feeling hungry, limiting diet to veggies to try to unsuccessfully fit into clothes, depression, no longer enjoying lifelong activities = living in a hideous state of mind... Taytulla was not right for me. Everyone’s different..."

"After taking Taytulla, I developed serious blood clots in my lungs, which led to a pulmonary embolism. I didn’t show many side effects until the blood clots grew in size. I’m a healthy 18-year-old who’s never had health problems before, so be careful. If left untreated, you can have a stroke or even die. My first sign that something was wrong was extreme shortness of breath and an extremely fast heartbeat. I was hospitalized and now will be on blood thinners for the next 3 months to help them go away."

"On Taytulla for 3 years and stopped 1.5 months ago. Here were the side effects I was having: little to no period, gained 20 pounds in just 1 year with a total of 40 pounds to date, frequent migraines, constipation, mood swings, agitation. In the 1.5 months that I’ve been off of Taytulla, I have fewer migraines/headaches, have more frequent bowel movements, and my mood is a little more stable. My weight hasn’t changed yet, but I do see a difference in the way I look and feel. Why didn’t I stop sooner? I honestly didn’t put two and two together. I didn’t keep track of the side effects. At the time, not many reviews on this product were out. Everyone is different."
