"I’ve been on this BC for 11 months. After reading the reviews I was SUPER hesitant to take this pill (my 1st birth control) but I decided to try it anyway. I lost weight, my skin is mostly cleared up, and my periods are short and barely there! I have not experienced any depression, anxiety or anything negative. I’m 22, moderately active and I eat relatively healthy, have no health issues, so that may contribute to my positive experience. If you’re nervous, try it. It’s not the same for everyone, but it may be right for you!"

"I switched from the Depo shot to Taytulla because I had been bleeding everyday since I started it the depo. 4 days into starting Taytulla I stopped bleeding! My periods are now very regular and I have not had any side effects other than tender breasts. No cramps, no mood swings, anxiety/depression etc. Many people said that they gained weight on this pill but my weight has not changed at all. I’ve only been on this pill for 3 months so if anything changes I’ll give an update! Overall this birth control is doing everything right."

"I didn't gain weight or have any mood issues while on Taytulla. I took it for 5 months. However, during that time my hair started falling out (lost about 30% of it!) and my nails started splitting. Also, at first I'd have some breakthrough bleeding. Maybe once every couple of weeks. Then it became a daily thing - for like 6 weeks. Finally thought it might be the pills and went to my doctor. Sure enough. Switched to one with a different progesterone and all the problems started to go away within a month (still waiting for my hair to grow back but it stopped falling out!). Also, my insurance didn't cover it and even with the discount card from the drug mfg it was ridiculously expensive."

"I am in my second full month of taking this pill and it's the best I've ever been on. My period is so much shorter and lighter...before this pill it was nightmarishly heavy. I haven't experience any side effects. I feel less bloated and moody than any other pill I've ever tried. I actually just feel normal, like I'm not on any pill at all. I've tried 4-5 other BC pills and all gave me side effects like melasma, spotting, bloating, or yeast infections, but I have none of that now. I couldn't be more pleased."

"My doctor put me on the Taytulla pill at age 45 to alleviate heavy periods. This pill has caused me to gain 80 pounds over the course of three years. I was constantly bloated and had “puffy face.” I eat clean and run 3-6 miles every day. As long as I took this pill, getting the weight off was impossible. Since stopping Taytulla couple months ago, I feel so much better and the weight is starting to come off. Please do not take this pill!!"

"Taytulla has been super effective for me! I’ve tried dozens of birth controls and this is the first one that’s cleared my acne and given me regular periods! I wouldn’t say I’ve gained any abnormal weight, I’ve only grown in breast size which I’m okay with. But remember that this is a review personal to me, others say it’s the worst bc out there... every body is different and you shouldn’t rely on a website review to determine ur bc."

"Typically, only people with negative reviews leave comments...however I’ve been taking Taytulla for about 3months now and it’s been great. No breakouts, no headaches, no weight gain or food cravings. I have actually lost weight while on this pill. So far, so good."

"On Taytulla for 3 years and stopped 1.5 months ago. Here were the side effects I was having. Little to no period. Gained 20 pounds in just 1 year with a total of 40 pounds to date, frequent migraines, constipation, mood swings, agitation. In the 1.5 months that I’ve been off of Taytulla I have less migraines/headaches. Have more frequent bowel movements and my mood is a little more stable. My weight hasn’t changed yet but I do see a difference in my way I look and feel. Why didn’t I stop sooner? I honestly didn’t put two and two together. I didn’t keep track of the side affects. At the time not many reviews on this product was out. Everyone is different."

"I went on taytulla because my old birth control (ortho tri cycles) had 7 inactive pills and it SUCKED but this only has 4 and it has helped my periods a ton!!! it's really effective at preventing pregnancy (accidentally tested that out) and my emotional/acne problems have actually decreased since I started using a combo of this and synthroid. I highly recommend u try it out, and u just gotta remember that the first few week's side effects are gonna be weird no matter what birth control ur on"

"My doctor switched me to Taytulla after being in Loestrin for nearly ten years. He claimed he was switching me so that I would have an even lower dose of hormones since I had been on birth control for a long period of time. I wasn’t really happy about switching. Well fast forward only four months later and I was in the ER with severe chest pains, blood pressure of 190/130 and a pulse of over a 170 BPM. After a CT scan it was determined I had a pulmonary embolism. A very large one found in my left lung, along with many small ones found in both lungs. All of my doctors have narrowed the cause down to birth control. I never had a single issue with taking Loestrin and only four months after switching have a PE. I don’t think it was a coincidence that it happened after switching to Taytulla. Please me cautious and advocate for yourself if you know something is not normal."

"I took Taytulla at the advice of my Gyn because of my heavy and painful periods, which were awful. After having a D and C, and a year later a uterine biopsy I thought I should start something to help with the low progesterone. Mirena was not an option because I didn’t want that in my body. For the first 5 days I had no issues with Taytulla but the bleeding then continued for 14 days, but not heavy like my old periods. Then I noticed I couldn’t sleep well, my anxiety is high and I’m cranky and moody. My heart feels like it’s going to come out of my chest and has been occurring since after the first week of taking this. I also have cramps with it. I am not going to continue taking this stuff. The side effects are dangerous and life threatening. I don’t know what my options are but I’ll finish this pack, and call my dr today for something else or nothing at all."

"After having a copper IUD for four years, I went on Taytulla after my doctor recommended I get my IUD removed. I didn't experience any noteworthy side effects. I didn't gain weight, experience acne, or have mood swings. The first month I spotted some when my period was supposed to come, but after the first month my period completely stopped. I was worried at first that I might be pregnant, I even took a few pregnancy tests, but they were always negative. I still get some cramping and other PMS symptoms when on the placebo pills, but I don't bleed. I would consider this a benefit to Taytulla. The only reason I'm switching brands is that I got new insurance, and Taytulla is $50 a month, so I'm trying a lower cost option. If that one doesn't work out, I will definitely switch back to Taytulla."

"Every woman is different so everyone will have different reactions to Taytulla. I’m 18 and this was the first birth control I was put on. I was worried at first because I had read all these awful reviews, but so far everything has been good! I’m about to start my third pack and I haven’t noticed any major side effects. For the first few days I broke out a little more than usual but I found that my skin actually started clearing up after that. My only problem is that my period doesn’t come when it’s time to start taking the inactive pills. But since I’ve only been taking it for two months, I know that my body might not be completely synced up with it yet. My periods are lighter: I only bleed for one day then it tapers off!"

"I have been taking this birth control for almost a year now and this has been the only one to work for me without any spotting or nausea etc. I love the gel capsules, they do not make me sick at all. I suffer from migraines but haven't had many since being on this pill. My acne has gone away and I have picked up a little weight gain that was much needed as I was only 107lbs. My breast have increase a size and a half and I love that too. As with any birth control, some is not for anyone. If it doesn't work for you, that doesn't mean its a poor product. Everyone's body is different and will react to medications differently. For me this was the only birth control that worked for me and I love it."

"I have PCOS and this is easily my 15th BC I have been on since I was 16 (25 now). I have been on it for 5 months and I'm lucky if I even get spotting. It skips periods which is not safe to me. I have horrible headaches, some weight gain, breast tenderness, and exhaustion. I am a very active person typically 4-6 days at the gym, and can't find motivation to do ANYTHING anymore. I have 0 motivation for life. I would stay away from this pill if you're sensitive to birth control side effects. My OB is switching me to OVCON 35, fingers crossed. Any other ladies face issues finding the right BC who have PCOS?!"

"The first packet I went through required quite the adjustment. I bled the entire first month I was on this pill (probably because I was suffering amenorrhea for almost 8 months), and I got some acne (I've never struggled with acne before, but this wasn't too serious). The bleeding/spotting stopped immediately when I began my second packet of Taytulla. The acne is still there, but it's not bad. I've also felt much more like myself emotionally since beginning this pill. When I go long periods of time without menstruating, I start becoming depressed and unmotivated. This pill has been great for solving several of my hormonal imbalances, and I plan on sticking with it."

"After taking Taytulla I developed serious blood clots in my lungs which led to a pulmonary embolism. I didn’t show many side affects until the blood clots grew in size. I’m a healthy 18 year old who’s never had health problems before so be careful. If left untreated you can have a stroke or even die. My first sign that something was wrong was extreme shortness of breath and an extremely fast heart beat. I was hospitalized and now will be on blood thinners for the next 3 months to help them go away."

"DON'T TAKE THIS BIRTH CONTROL!! I started taking Taytulla about one month ago. About a week in, all the symptoms and side effects started to show up. I was extremely nauseous, my depression and anxiety went through the roof and made me feel absolutely terrible. I was having crying episodes and felt anxious about life and relationships. I also have been bleeding for 8+ days with really bad abdominal cramps. I just recently stopped taking it yesterday. My anxiety and depression are still present, my gyno said it could take a month for my hormones to regulate. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND TO ANYONE."

"I've just started my third month of this pill, and it has been a complete disaster. This is also my first time taking birth control. A couple weeks ago I thought about trying something different since it has been making me cry about every little stress in life and has also made me anxious about everything. I'm in my first semester of college and this pill has not made it easier. I am currently dealing with some relationship problems, but I would never typically feel this depressed about anything. I'm so much happier than this. The only good thing I've experienced with this pill is the barely there period. This pill is destroying my happiness and ruining me as a person. Due to all of the anxiety and depression, I haven't been eating as much as I should, so I've lost weight. I would not recommend this pill to anyone."

"TAKE CAUTION. My 18-year-old daughter was prescribed Taytulla three weeks ago. She checked herself into a psych ward today. She never had signs of depression. I am convinced it is this drug. She won't be taking the medication tonight; we will see how she feels tomorrow. This drug has been on the market for less than 2 years. Never again. Report side effects to the FDA: https://www.accessdata.fda.gov/scripts/medwatch/index.cfm?action=reporting.home"

"DO NOT TAKE THIS PILL IF YOU WANT TO LIVE! I've taken birth control pills from my teen years to my early 30s. I got off of them for awhile. My OB-GYN prescribed Taytulla 3/31/18. I had my cycle in mid-March. I took Taytulla for nearly a year. I didn't have a cycle for the entire time that I was on this pill and I thought that was odd since I never had that experience with any other BC pill. My doctor said it was okay so I kept taking it. I had shortness of breath, severe sweating and then passed out and had to go to the ER in February 2019. The ER admitted me for DVT (deep vien thrombosis) and PE (pulmonary embolism). I had blood clots in my legs and both lungs. It was due to this birth control pill. I literally almost died! It's now September 2019 and I am still on blood thinners to treat the blood clots in my legs (thankful the more dangerous ones in my lungs went away shortly after starting the blood thinners). My cycle still hasn't returned. Lastly, I lost 10lbs immediately after stopping the pill."

"I was given Taytulla after using Minastrin 24 for a year (which worked great). After taking it for a few months my anxiety (which I had before taking it but was under control) became so much worse and I began having panic attacks every day, and I actually became depressed despite having no history of it. These issues along with extreme mood swings/irratibility, frequent headaches, fatigue, and lack of motivation to do anything (despite being a motivated person before) caused me to switch back to Minastrin, even though I had to pay more because my insurance doesn't cover it . To me paying extra is way better than having to go on this pill again, which I would not recommend to anyone, especially those who have anxiety/depression to begin with"

"So the last month and a half I have had anxiety and mood swings through the dang roof. My poor fiancé has been having it so rough. I thought something was seriously wrong with me and I was about to call my family doctor to schedule an appointment (anxiety is normal for me, but not at this level by far). Everything and everyone makes me soooo mad and emotional. I’m not normally a cow! I’m a happy person! Reading these comments and putting two and two together is such a relief because I’m not going crazy! I’m going to talk to my OB very soon. Good luck ladies."

"Taytulla is my first birthcontrol pill that I’ve used. The first day I took it, I became VERY nauseated. The first two weeks were fine, my skin got a little better, not a lot of side effects. But then I started randomly bleeding, and it kept getting heavier and heavier. I have now been heavily bleeding for 5 days straight and there’s no sign that it’s going to stop. The cramps that go along with it have been terrible, and stopped me from being able to keep up with my usually gym routine. This pill also has made me cry nearly everyday this week, and I’m not usually an emotional person like that. This is possibly one of the worst decisions I have made to take it, and if I could give 0 stars I would. Absolutely awful side effects!"
