For Birth Control "Made me extremely emotional. Typically a happy person all the time, but these pills caused me to experience extreme depression and anxiety for the first time in my life. Made me a different person. In addition, my sex drive went way down. Definitely do not recommend. I am 4 months off of it and am still recovering from the anxiety and depression I experienced while on these pills."

For Birth Control "I've been on Tarina Fe for 6 months and have no complaints! I honestly love it as far as birth control goes. I haven't noticed any mood, weight, or acne changes. I am generally hungrier throughout the day, but that's totally manageable. One complaint is that my periods are weird, not really super bloody (sorry if that's TMI), and they only last 2-3 days. It's kind of strange, but they're completely pain-free, unlike my periods before being on birth control."

For Birth Control "I've been taking this birth control for quite a while now, and my body has gotten used to it. The first few months, I experienced mood swings and brown spotting, but other than that, it works quite well. No pregnancies so far."

For Birth Control "The first week into taking this pill, I got the yeast infection side effect, and I've never had one before. It made me way more emotional and sensitive to drama. My boyfriend doesn't even think I'm acting like the same person before I started taking the pill. Not only this, but it makes me really hungry even when I feel full, I just crave eating more food. It also caused my acne to get worse within the first week. I stopped taking it after the first week, so then I had the worst period of my whole life. I'm 18, and I rarely had any sort of painful cramps, and for the past 4 months, I've had cramps that are so painful it feels like I'm giving birth and having painful contractions. Taking this pill was the worst mistake I've ever made!"

For Birth Control "My experience on the pill is going okay. I'm on my 3rd pack, no bleeding, just spotted for an hour. I get cramps when it's time for my period to come. I notice I have become more emotional lately. I feel like crying a lot. When someone tells me something, I get really sensitive. My boobs get sore, and they have gone up in cup size. I get acne when it's time for my period, but that's it. My hunger has been the same. When it's that time, I crave fried foods. I like the pill, just wish I wasn't so emotional. My sex drive is awesome. Hopefully, I will get my period irregular."

For Birth Control "I’m 20, and I’m on my second pack of this pill, Tarina, I just started the third row. Ever since I started this pack, my acne has become VERY bad. My jaw is full of acne, and there’s some above it on my lower cheeks. I’m happy that we’re being advised to stay indoors because I would be so embarrassed if people saw me this way. HOWEVER, I started taking this because of cramps, and this pill made my last period a breeze. I didn’t even have to take any pain relievers!!!"

For Birth Control "TAKE SOMETHING ELSE! It's not worth your life! I've been on this birth control since December of 2019 (today is 10/16/2020). I experienced the weight gain but kept taking it due to the effectiveness of the birth control itself. About a month ago, I began experiencing bad headaches that would come on in the evenings. After 3 hours and multiple tests in the ER, I was told I was being admitted due to having a double pulmonary embolism (2 blood clots) in my right lung. The next morning, the doctor came in and told me that I need to immediately stop taking Tarina due to that being the cause of the clots. Now, I have to spend the next 6 months at minimum on Eliquis and Xarelto and simply hope they are effective. I can't pick up my 3-year-old and am basically restricted to a light-duty lifestyle until I have a medical green light. PLEASE, please reconsider taking this birth control. There are so many other options that do not have PE's as a side effect - rare or not."

For Birth Control "I was prescribed this birth control, Tarina Fe 1/20, after giving birth to my daughter (I was taking Sprintec before pregnancy). I am not a fan of Tarina Fe 1/20. Side effects are I’ve gained significant weight, mood swings are terrible, and my period lasts longer than usual. I also have noticed that I will spot throughout the month (dark brown), and there is an increase of milky white discharge. I’d say the only plus is that it does help with menstrual cramps - I can’t feel a thing, and it has cleared my skin. I’ll be taking this for another few months before asking my doctor to switch me back to Sprintec."

For Birth Control "This pill, Tarina FE 1/20, isn’t too bad. When I lost my health insurance for a while, I started using Planned Parenthood, and they said this is the same as Blisovi, which is what I was previously using. I’ve been on this for like 8-9 months now, and I haven’t noticed any weight gain or acne or anything crazy. I think my sex drive went down a little bit, though? But aside from that, I’m having a good experience on it. My periods are light and pretty short (like 3-4 days), and it does what it is intended to do."

For Birth Control "I've gained twenty lbs in 5 months while taking this pill. None of my friends have gained as much weight as I have, but I did notice they did gain a little bit of weight. Everyone's body is the same, but after 5 months of being on this pill, I am getting off of it because of the weight gain."

For Birth Control "It’s my second month, and I don’t think I’ve had any side effects other than acne. My skin is usually pretty clear, but lately, I’ve been getting patches of painful pimples near my jaw area, which is what hormonal acne is. I’m hoping my body just needs to get used to it, but I may try switching if it’s not gone by next month."

For Birth Control "So I’m 32. After taking a break from IUD, which I had for 10 years, I decided to give the birth control a try: “Tarina.” This pill has me super emotional, hungry. It’s been 3 months and I’m bleeding on and off, and it’s so annoying. So with that being said, back on the IUD I go! Thumbs down."

For Birth Control "I tried two other pills (that were higher estrogen) and the patch prior to taking this pill, and I have to say this one is much better. I used to get horrible nausea, low sex drive, uncontrollable mood swings, and weight gain on the other pills, and I have not experienced this with Tarina Fe! I have been on this pill for a month now, so I am just finishing my first pack. I am taking it for pregnancy prevention, minor acne, painful periods, and horrible PMS, as well as flare-ups from a painful bladder syndrome I have called interstitial cystitis. So far it has made a significant difference in helping all these things, and the only bad symptoms I experienced that I can deal with are tender breasts, water retention, minor headaches, worsened anxiety, and low moods tend to feel lower. I also noticed a decrease in appetite, but it was only at the very beginning. Again, it is only the first month, so I expect these symptoms to just lessen as I continue taking the pill."

For Birth Control "Been on this pill for almost a year, and it has been a rocky experience. My periods are always irregular, and I feel like I never stop bleeding. I’ve been taking it on time for the most part, and regardless, it just didn’t get any better. I have to switch. I’m seeing my doctor this week to change! I’m just not adjusting to it very well, at all."

For Birth Control "I've been on this BC for 2.5 months now, and I hate it. At first, it was the acne all around my eyes and forehead, and the abdominal pains constantly. Then, in the second month, the bleeding never stopped. I wouldn't call it spotting, because it was more than that. Sometimes heavy bleeding for a random day, sometimes a glob, and I've passed a couple of clots. I came on here looking if I was crazy or if it was the BC, because my mood is out of control. I'm anxious, sad, depressed, I don't feel like myself anymore. My sex drive is non-existent, and the vaginal dryness is unbearable. It's good to know I'm not crazy. Hopefully, I can switch and relieve myself of these side effects."

For Birth Control "Tarina Fe 1/20 is the first brand of birth control I've tried. I didn't have any of the common side effects-no nausea, no weight gain, no headaches. However, my period has been out of control. Before getting on Tarina, my period would last 3-4 days, with some severe cramping and bleeding the first day, then leveling off. Now, I get a period the week BEFORE the sugar pills, lasting the whole week. Bleeding stops for the first day or two of the sugar pill, then I get to deal with another 4 or 5 days of bleeding from the sugar pill. All in all, it's about a 2-week long period. I'm on my 4th pack, and this happens like clockwork every month. The doctor switched me to a pill with higher estrogen, but I may wait out my last 2 packs of Tarina to see if, by some miracle, it regulates. Really liked the experience of having minimal side effects, but can't deal with the nonstop bleeding."

For Birth Control "On my 3rd month, and the acne caused by this pill still hasn't gone away. When I started this pill, I broke out like CRAZY. I had HUNDREDS of pimples the day after starting. Most of them have cleared, but now instead of a bunch of tiny red pimples, I get big painful cystic ones. I stayed with it because everyone told me I had to give my body time to adjust, but it doesn't seem to be doing better. The 2nd month on the pill, I had HORRIBLE stomach pains. It was awful. I was puking every other day from the pain, not nausea. As a BC, it's great, I don't know if it's worth the acne, though. My skin is so scarred."

For Birth Control "I'm in my late 20s, and this past year I got switched to Tarina Fe 1/20. I noticed changes right away. My prior pill for 6 years was Junel. I believe my body was reacting through a change in active ingredients differences. I got 2 yeast infections 3 months after taking Tarina. It was a long time since I had to buy vaginal creams to stop the itch and medications. I also feel like when I take it, it just sits at the top of my stomach and I get bloated. With Junel, my metabolism would actually start up and it would increase my appetite. I believe Tarina is just not working out for my body. I also gained 20 pounds since the switch. My body just feels lost, but I ordered Junel again. I hope it solves all my changes. Prayers."

For Birth Control "If you already have a lot of personality, this pill probably isn't for you. Mood swings were very common. I'm talking 0 to mega alpha psychotic in oscillations. Taking it at night had a caffeine-like effect. Cramping during the beginning of my cycle was almost negligible. Appetite was ravenous then leveled off towards the end of the pack. Libido was slightly decreased as well as slight vaginal dryness."

For Birth Control "If you don't want to get pregnant, then this birth control works just fine. Downsides for me: longer periods. I was bloated for a good 2 months. I read to try and stick it out for 3 months and bloating would subside, and for the most part, it did. Last but not least, and for me the worst, the cystic acne!! Uggghh I haven't had acne in 3 years, and as soon, as soon! As I switched to this BC, I started getting them all over, with cystic ones mainly on my jawline. I absolutely hate it and will be switching BC this week!!!"

For Birth Control "I was specifically put on this kind because the other kinds of birth control gave me severe mood swings. This helped with that. However, it made my period come a week before the placebo pills every single month. Not only that, but it made my cramps absolutely awful."

For Birth Control "I've been on this birth control for 3 weeks, and my period hasn't stopped. It is a lot more than spotting and has ruined 3 pairs of underwear already. I used to get complimented on my clear skin, but my acne has drastically increased since taking this birth control. I know these side effects are supposed to go away after a few months or so, but there is no way I am going to deal with this for that long."

For Birth Control "I was on Tarina Fe 1/20 since Planned Parenthood prescribed it to me. And I LOVED IT! Gave me 0 problems ever. No side effects, my acne cleared up, and my skin was glowing. I felt great, absolutely no problems. I see reviews about hair loss, but I have insanely ridiculous thick hair that it would be very, very difficult for me to notice that one. But as far as I can say, this was the best birth control I have ever been on! It was my first ever one I have taken. I was on Tarina in 2018 for a year until I was switched (they told me and said it was discontinued *Planned Parenthood*), and they switched me to Blisovi Fe 1/20... IF YOU GET PRESCRIBED BLISOVI FE, DO NOT TAKE IT! It’s awful, it gave me cystic acne and moodiness to the point of losing myself as a person and human being. But Tarina is great!!"

For Birth Control "I've been on birth control for 3 years now. I switched to Tarina because I was experiencing bad anxiety and mild depression, and my doc recommended this lower dosage pill. Luckily, I didn't experience any significant weight gain. But my anxiety and depression got worse. I have even more terrible mood swings and am so sensitive and emotional. On the bright side, my periods are light and only last 3-4 days, and the cramps are tolerable. However, I noticed that my 'periods' were getting more inconsistent, and I wouldn't start on the same day like I was used to, but I always bled every month until this one. This month, I had absolutely no 'period.' I'm very good at taking the pill (if I'm late, it's only by an hour or 2), and I understand that it's completely normal to not have withdrawal bleeding while on the pill, but this had never happened to me in the 3 years I have been on birth control. I ended up not being pregnant, but this made me go insane. I'm definitely going to change to another brand."

For Birth Control "I've actually loved this pill. I've tried others and been so emotional. I've had no weight gain, no loss of sexual drive, or even dryness, periods evened out with no issues. I'd like to try taking it straight for 3 months at a time to avoid periods, but will have to talk to my doc."
