"So far, so good! I recommend getting a few months of samples for anyone looking to try it out. I have had no side effects whatsoever, and very light to minimal periods. No longer having spotting/breakthrough bleeding or ovarian cysts. Definitely recommend."

"I've been taking Lo Loestrin for 6 months, and I love it. I ran out and had a sample pack of Minastrin and thought, 'What could one month hurt? I'll save $25!' Stupid. Never again. I've been nauseous since the first pill, with daily stomach troubles. My breasts are so sore. But the worst is the anxiety/depression. I've started waking in the middle of the night with panic attacks and feel anxious pretty much 24/7. I'm going back on Lo Loestrin tomorrow. Minastrin and I are breaking up for good. We are no longer friends."

"Horrible pill! I had terrible mood swings and anxiety, headaches, and dizziness. My periods were heavier and more painful than without the pill, and I had terrible dryness. Find something else - don’t put yourself through the hell of this pill."

"This was the miracle BC for me. I tried everything on the market, and due to me being skinny, the other doses were just too high. I had NO side effects from this pill, I was put on it to help with migraines and ovarian cysts. It didn't work the first year, so my doctor put me on a 3-month dosage. (I don't get my period for 3 months), and for 4 years it's been working fantastic. No issues. Barely get my period. No side effects either. Maybe a little bit of crampiness, but not nearly as bad as a normal one."

"This is my 4th month on this pill. My gyno switched me from Loestrin to this because I was having in-between spotting and cramping. I am 43 and have been on some form of bc pill for a long time. It made me nauseous the first two months. Periods were much shorter and lighter, but cramps were kind of bad. Now, on my 4th month, I had a day of spotting, no cramping, and that's it. No period at all. I ALWAYS have a period. So not sure if this is a good or bad thing."

"I've been on this pill for about 5 years now, and I have to say it is amazing. One thing I will note is that before I first started using birth control, I had very regular periods. I strictly went on the pill for extra protection when I went into college. After starting the pill, my periods became less heavy, and they became somewhat irregular as the years went on. The first year on the pill, I would have a very, very light period each month, BUT as the years went on, I would get my period every 2-3 months. As of now, this is the 5th month that I have not gotten my period. I am not pregnant, but it is very odd to go this long without a period. Most women would like that, but I like knowing that I would get my period every month or so."

"Awful experience. NOT the same as Loestrin 24 Fe, which worked perfectly for me. This medication caused pains in my stomach, severe shoulder and back acne, bloating, and cramps. My mood swings were crazy, and I felt awful on this birth control. I gave it 3 months, and it didn't regulate. I developed the worst acne I have ever had, and it is painful."

"I've been on this birth control for 3 months: I haven't had a period, I've gained 10 lbs, my face is broke out, my hair is falling out, I have no sex drive, more frequent moods of depression. This is the worst, and I'm getting off it ASAP."

"STAY AWAY FROM THIS PILL. This is my second month with this pill, and let me tell you how horrible my experience has been. Sudden weight gain, like literally 15 lbs more during these past two months. Lately, I've been very depressed, I've had two panic attacks, pain in my left arm, and shortness of breath. I thought I was having heart problems and rushed to the ER, and my heart is fine. This is all the pill, this pill is driving me crazy. I've never felt like this in my life. So many mood swings. I'm stopping these pills starting now. The only good thing is that your period is lighter and you get zero cramps. THAT'S IT."

"The good thing about this pill was that it basically reduced my period to a once-a-month light period that lasted a day, and I didn't experience any cramping for the 10 months that I was on it. This was great because I have heavy, painful, irregular periods, and it was nice to not have to call in to work while on my period. I had to stop taking the pill because it was affecting my moods severely. I felt like I was always panicking about something, like my mind was constantly on overdrive and obsessing about any little issue that came up. I had to fight feeling sad and hopeless on a daily basis, and this was odd because the events happening in my life were very good. I've been off the pill for about a month, and I feel much better."

"I took Loestrin 24 Fe for a number of years and had no issues. I stopped taking birth control for two years and recently started back, now on the Minastrin 24 Fe. I have been on it for two months and have had daily headaches since starting. I have nausea off and on, gas/bloating, and an inability to orgasm since starting it. It's not the same medicine at all. Plus, a nice rash has begun on my chest. I went to my gyno and am switching ASAP."

"Great pill - Minastrin 24 Fe. It is the first one EVER to work for me. I had tried probably 15 others and always had breakthrough bleeding every day or throwing up. So I was so thrilled to start this one! Sadly, my insurance doesn’t cover it, and so I was paying out of pocket. I had a great price for a while, then that coupon expired and it cost me close to $200. A generic by Allergan became available for $100. But now I can’t afford it. So I am on nothing. With no birth control pill, I have terrible periods that last a long time and horrible cramping. On Minastrin, I had no pain, minimal bleeding, and was very happy. I laugh at the review that says on it a week and gained weight... whatever!"

"I took Minastrin for about a month and had extremely bad side effects. I had horrible mood swings, I was anxious, and most of all, super depressed. I’d go from okay to crazy in what felt like seconds. It was awful! It also made my breasts swell up about a full cup size."

"I used to take the regular combined pill and would often get terrible migraines with black auras. It was really scary. Now that I'm on this mini pill, I really haven't gotten them. I never took any other mini pill, but this is way better for me than all the regular pills. My periods are so much lighter and shorter. Yes, I have gained weight and emotional sensitivity. But now that I know they are just side effects, I know I can deal with them. I would take this over the scary migraine and heavy fainting periods anytime. I really think it depends on the individual how you like it. Also, I really think you need to chew it like it says. I read somewhere that the enzymes in your saliva, or stomach, or whatever need to break it down properly."

"1/10 does not even begin to describe my awful experience with this pill. I was on this pill for almost a week and had to stop it due to extreme mood swings and massive depression and anxiety. I have been on SSRIs for 7 years now and my depression and anxiety are relatively under control. From the minute I started this BC, I started gaining weight, breaking out, and having intense mood swings to the point where I thought I needed to go to the hospital. My breaking point with this BC was one night when I went through the cycle of angry/violent thoughts to intense anxiety to feeling completely normal. That cycle happened about 5 times in an hour. After this experience, I am now terrified to try another birth control method besides condoms."

"I am 20 years old, and this is the first BC I have been on. I started this pill to regulate my period. My gyno said it would help, and this pill has minimum side effects. I started this pill the second day of my period because it was a Sunday (that's what my gyno told me to do). Anyway, I have been on it for a month now, and I am still bleeding every day like I am on my second day of my period (which is my heaviest day). I have very bad cramps, loss of appetite, and lowered my sex drive tremendously. I am married, so that is very inconvenient. I honestly hate this pill because when I called my gyno, they said give it 3 months and that it's normal, which I don't believe."

"Minastrin was a good call for getting me off of Loloestrin. That pill was horrid. I ended up getting periods on time, and they were light. Sadly, the past 2 months, my periods are disappearing. I had 2 pregnancy tests done. I take the pill right on time too. I would rather have my period as a comfort of knowing I'm not pregnant. I also had an increase of rectal pains. I have endometriosis, and this pill is way too expensive too."

"Absolutely horrible experience on this pill. I was previously on Loestrin and switched due to insurance purposes. This gave me HORRIBLE anxiety (no sleep, heart palpitations, shooting chest pain, and numbing arm sensations). To the point I went and got an EKG due to concern - the anxiety symptoms significantly subsided once I was off the pill. Would not recommend."

"I stopped this pill 4 months ago, and I still have side effects. When I was taking this pill, my anxiety and intrusive thoughts were horrible. I cried every day and thought I was living in a depression. Also, it gave me a yeast infection 2 times, and even after 4 months of stopping the pill, the yeast infections don’t stop!!!!! I never had this kind of infection before. Please, be aware of what you put in your body."

"I've been on Minastrin for a handful of years now (5+, I've lost track). Best things about it: it gets the job done, never had one pregnancy scare. Periods are light and mostly painless. Super simple to skip a period if I'm on vacation, no spotting during/after. The not so great: definitely affects my mood (I'm more prone to anger and sadness when on the pill and feel a sense of 'clarity' when I'm on the placebos), and I still get moderate PMS cramps. However, I take birth control for stress-free sex and controllable periods, so for me this medication is gold and the pros outweigh the cons."

"I just very recently started this birth control, and I was very wary of it at first because my experience with Loestrin Fe was terrible. But ever since I've been on this pill, it's like heaven! Loestrin made me super nauseous, very moody and angry, and completely killed my sex drive. Now that I'm on Minastrin 24 Fe, I feel completely normal! I'll admit, in the beginning, I was slightly moody and I have noticed a slight decrease in sex drive, but nothing too major. Overall, I love this birth control, and I'm so happy with how it worked out for me!"

"Everyone's body is different. I've had nothing but the best experience with this particular BC pill. I was on Loestrin and was sad to find out it was discontinued. Happy to know that the name was the only thing that changed (and the fact that it is now a chewable tablet). Anyways, I love it!! My period became light within the first month. I did have horrible headaches for the first few weeks. I've been taking these for 6 years!!!! I stopped for about 2 months, and my period went back to being super heavy. I love the effects it has on my cycle, light and short, only about 2-3 days. I didn't experience mood swings or weight gain/loss. I regret not finding these sooner, like when I was in high school and experienced painful cramping."

"My experience with Minastrin was extremely favorable. I was suffering from intense period symptoms-overwhelmingly bad cramps that left me bedridden for at least 2 days, dizziness, uncomfortably heavy flow, irregularity, and periods that lasted up to 9 days. The first month of taking Minastrin was, admittedly, rough. I suffered some spotting and rather invasive mood swings. However, I have read that this is not common and might be related to the intensity of my periods prior to taking Minastrin. Once I got used to having Minastrin in my body (it took about 4 months), my periods became extremely low-maintenance. I still suffer from mild cramping, but I now have regular and very, very light periods, thanks to Minastrin."

"I was only on Minastrin a total of two months after switching from Beyaz (I only switched because my body was no longer reacting well to the Beyaz after having taken it for 8 years - I had increasing breakthrough bleeding). With Minastrin, I have been getting regular migraines and had headaches every day. I gained 7 lbs in the first month even though I'm active and eat very healthy. I've never had problems with my skin breaking out, and since I've started taking this medication, I've had constant breakouts all over my face. I normally have no stomach issues, but this also gave me random stomachaches. Everyone reacts differently to medications, but this one was certainly not right for me. My doctor has me trying Sprintec now (fingers crossed)."

"I switched onto this pill from Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo. The reason I switched was because Ortho was making my acne increase and started making my periods very, very painful. Minastrin started off okay for me. If you despise having a period, this is for you. This pill was fine until about 6 months in. It started to make me nauseous and moody and so anxious. At first, I was worried I was pregnant and ended up going crazy and taking about 10 tests. I'm switching to another pill, but basically, my biggest issue with this pill is the side effects I got at the 5/6 month point. I never had a period after the first pack, which also added to my constant anxiety and paranoia. It was brown the first period and then nothing."
