"Well, I'm not pregnant, and my skin looks amazing! That's about where it stops. I think that this medicine will probably work amazing for some people, but I am unfortunately just not one of those people. My period while taking Hailey 24 Fe was extremely irregular, coming several times during the month from anywhere between 2-5 days at a time. Perhaps the worst side effect was the mood swings. I absolutely could not control myself at all on this medicine when these random bleeding episodes arrived. I would feel emotionally devastated at the smallest things, things that were not even issues, that I could recognize weren't issues... but that didn't help much. I sobbed for hours on end to my boyfriend over the phone over absolutely nothing. My boyfriend and I recently were trying to decide where to go for dinner, and I didn't want pizza. My reaction? To cry that I didn't want pizza. And then when we finally got where we were going (not pizza)? I cried again. Hailey messed me up."

"I switched to Hailey 24 FE after being on LARIN 24 FE for about a year. This was probably because of supply chain shortages or something like that. They are similar medications, so I was not concerned. Ever since I made the switch, I noticed my periods were even lighter and shorter. As someone who suffered from heavy and painful periods, this made the nausea and swollen breasts kind of worth it. The only concern, as someone who is sexually active, the very light, short, and barely noticeable periods are nerve-racking."

"I'm only seeing negative reviews, so I'm giving you mine. I've been on this for about a year and a half. It took my body about 3-4 months to get used to. In the beginning, I definitely held onto water weight, had very sore breasts, a low sex drive, and moderate mood swings. I had very bad acne as a teenager but am now 28 and only get the occasional breakout. This pill didn't really do anything different to my skin. My periods have always been fairly normal with moderately painful cramps, so it's nice to have the option to skip that week. Even if I do go through the placebo week, the period is extremely light. I do notice that one lasting side effect is a low sex drive. However, other than that, I feel very normal and recommend this for a great birth control option."

"I have been on birth control for 10 years, and in the 3 months I have been on Hailey, I am considering going off it altogether if this is my only option. I didn't notice at first, as my prescription was changed, and by looking at it, assumed it was the same. I have been heavily bloated for weeks and am honestly concerned about my mental state. As a fairly mentally stable person, I can say that this pill has caused me so much anxiety and unexplained mood swings that I was genuinely concerned for my health before I made the connection. I would not recommend this to anyone."

"First time I've ever tried birth control, and it's improved my life so much. I was terrified at first, but now my skin is clear, my cramps are substantially better, I know when I'll be experiencing my period, and I don't experience horrible PMS like I previously did. At the beginning, I did feel mildly moody at times, but it's subsided since I continued taking it. I love it."

"Around the 2-3 month mark, I started having terrible migraines almost daily. I didn’t know what it was because I drink lots of water and get good sleep, and then I checked the reviews of Hailey Fe and found out this is a common side effect. It’s now my 3rd day off this brand, and no more migraines!!! Although I didn’t get pregnant on this pill, I couldn’t bear this side effect. Stay away!!!"

"Well, on Hailey 24 Fe, my boobs look great, and I was getting my periods. I had hopped off Lo Loestrin Fe because I was not getting my periods (I want that birth control back, I will take no periods compared to this killing machine). My doc put me on Hailey 24 Fe, and at first, it seemed great. I am 4 months in, and my anxiety is way out of whack, and even depression/sadness has started. Given yes, I am in nursing school, which doesn't help, but this is unreal. I have no sex drive anymore, and my poor boyfriend is the one that I take my mood swings and anxiety attacks out on. After month 3, I stopped getting periods, and I am 2 weeks into month 4. I have gotten so much worse since that missed period, and all these symptoms are completely out of character for me. No, I am not pregnant, I checked 3 times because I was getting so paranoid, but dang, this birth control really did me in. I am also writing this review at 4 a.m. because I never sleep anymore while on it."

"I have never had acne my entire life, but three weeks after starting this, I had bad cystic acne. I almost switched, but I stuck it out and it has gone away! I’ve noticed more bloating than usual, and my boobs are so, so sore. It has helped lighten my periods and I haven’t had any other bad side effects! I’d recommend it. However, I was on Lo Loestrin Fe before this, and that was the BEST. I never had any side effects. It is just too expensive, though."

"I'll list the positives first because there are few. My skin looks great, and I haven't gotten pregnant. Unlike other birth control pills I have tried, Hailey doesn't make my breasts grow or become tender and sore around my period, which is actually really nice. Additionally, my period is short and light, with less painful cramps. HOWEVER, I have become extremely anxious, restless, and I noticed within the first 2 months of switching (previously on Estarylla) that my heart would race, and I would become breathless for no reason. I constantly feel emotionally overwhelmed and sensitive, crying over little things that I shouldn't really be crying over. Now, as I near the 6-month mark of use, I have become incredibly nauseous. I even took a pregnancy test because I was convinced that this nausea was a pregnancy symptom because even the smell of certain foods has started to make me gag, and the constant stomach churning is unbearable. Still on the search for a pill that will work for me."

"I started taking this pill 4 months ago. The only positive side effects I have noticed are that it helped my period cramps and flow, and I have gained little to no weight. Other than that, it made my acne horrible, gave me mood swings, headaches, and bad anxiety. I have gone my whole life having little to no acne, but since I’ve started the pill, acne is all I’ve been experiencing. I have taken other birth controls before and had no problem with this. My acne has been horrible since I’ve started taking these pills and has yet to go away. My acne has surrounded my chin, lip area, nose, and my cheeks. I have done proper skin care, drank water, and ate healthy, but nothing works."

"So I'm not sure really, I've had cramps that have lasted going into the third week now, and bleeding was okay at first. Got to day six, and now it's the heaviest I've ever had. I'm going to go ahead and stop taking it and go see my doctor again. This was supposed to help me with heavy flow, it did the opposite. Never taking this again."

"Emotionally, this drug hasn't done much to me more than the normal emotions I would have without birth control. Acne-wise, I do break out a little, but it's nothing compared to my acne when I first started birth control four years ago, but it is slightly more breaking out than other birth controls I have been on. I don't have any breakthrough bleeding, and my period is extremely light to none on the 24/4 schedule. It has not completely fixed my cramping during my period, but it is much better now. The one drawback I do have from it is it seems to have wrecked my sex drive/libido. Most of the time, I am not completely like, 'ew, no, I don't want to have sex' when it is initiated by someone else, but it does make me never want to initiate it because I never just feel in the mood. Overall, I would just have to say it's not life-changing for the better, but it's definitely not giving as bad side effects as other birth controls."

"I have had such a good experience with this. I have been on it about a year, and the only negative for me was that my breasts were very, very sore for the first month, but that went away. Also, I was much more emotional on my period than usual for the first few months, but that has gone away as well. My breasts have grown 1-2 cup sizes. I haven’t gotten pregnant. I recommend it!!!"

"I decided to try Hailey 24 Fe birth control, tried ignoring the bad reviews because it affects everyone differently. I have tried multiple different pills. This has been by far the worst. Although I had less period pain, I have been on my period for two weeks or more at a time with only 2-5 days in between periods. I tried this birth control for 4 months, and it only got worse. If I would miss a pill, even by a few hours, I would automatically start my period the following day. It was awful. Sprintec birth control is what I will be going back to, it is so much better!"

"I have been on this birth control for 6 months. I was on Junel Fe, which worked fine other than the weight gain. My pharmacy switched me to Hailey Fe, maybe because of insurance issues or manufacturing issues. The pharmacist told me it was the same thing, however, it is not! I have had migraines that last for days or headaches every other day, 3-5 times a week. Weight gain has been worse. Sex drive was horrible, and I’ve never had that problem. Definitely do not recommend this brand personally, but everyone is different."

"First month, my boobs did get bigger, but as a small-chested person, I was happy with the results! I take birth control because I struggle with ovarian cysts that burst and are super painful, but after 5 months, I haven’t had a single cyst burst. 2-4 day periods with light cramping. I do get migraines, but I’ve been struggling with migraines for years, so it’s been no different. I also did have some acne over the first month, but it has since gone away, and I’ve had clear skin! Overall, pretty happy with this BC."

"Pros: No cycles, clear skin, and no mood swings. Cons: consistent yeast infections, water weight, and drowsiness. Overall, all of these symptoms were tolerable but the yeast infections. It was so uncomfortable and frustrating. I could not believe it was causing it until I stopped taking them."

"Hailey 24 Fe is OK. At first, this pill didn't bother me too much. I've been taking it for 5 months, and I have only had 2 'periods.' By that, I mean spotting or brown clots for 2 days. I used to only get a migraine every other period, and I was very regular, now my body is so unpredictable. I am also a small lady, I only weighed 108 at 5 feet 6 inches, and I think the stress of this pill has made me lose 4 pounds! I am now 104. So, no periods really, but now I get a headache or a migraine 3 to 4 times a week! If you are not prone to migraines, I think this would work for you, if not, try something else. I will start the patch in 1 week, and I hope it's better for me."

"So I’m currently trying to get back on Blisovi 24 birth control. I was on it for about 4-5 years before getting pregnant by choice when I stopped taking the birth control. But I’ve been on this Hailey birth control for about a year, and it’s terrible, in my opinion. It messes with my pH balance every time my period comes around, and I’ve been way more emotional. It causes me to have breakouts around the time of my period. Blisovi 24 was amazing, cannot wait to get that one back!"

"I’ve been in this for 2 full months now. My boobs got so big and sore during the first month, but they went back to normal after a few weeks. Also, some headaches at the beginning. My periods started during the third week of pills for both months as I continued to take the remaining pills, and I bled for twice as long as usual and had longer durations of cramping. It wasn’t as bad of cramping as without the pills, but it lasted the entire time I bled (when it usually lasts 1 day and I’d very painful). I usually bleed 3-5 days, but I have bled for 7-10 days both months on this. I am going to continue with the third pack and then consider trying something else. No weight gain while taking these."

"I've been using this for about a year, if that, and let me tell you the problems. Firstly, acne is number one. I felt like a teenager breaking out along my chinline and neck at 30 years old. I personally think it makes you gain weight or makes it impossible to keep weight off. My periods are so out of whack. I used to be on Junel, and I liked it so much better. I hate when they switch you to these alternatives. I've struggled all year trying to be on this birth control, and I'm still having issues. I also feel so angry being on it, my mood swings are not normal at all. Will definitely be switching or stopping it."

"At first, the reviews for this medication made me nervous when my doctor prescribed it for me. However, I have been taking it for about 4 months now, and my reason for taking it was to help with my PCOS. So, for my fellow PCOS females out there, I would like to say that this medication has worked great for me. I have also made changes to my diet, but this medication has helped with my hairline regrowth, reduced my facial hair, and reduced my stomach fat. It's reversing a lot of the negative side effects of my PCOS, and that was exactly what I needed in my life. I am not in much pain anymore, and for me, this was a lifesaver. It seems that this medication works well for people with PCOS, and for those using it solely as birth control, it's a gamble. However, once again, I have had a great experience and look forward to my symptoms hopefully further improving in the future."

"I've had a pretty positive experience so far. It's cleared my skin to the point I don't wear concealer anymore, and it's reduced my appetite to the point of losing a little of my winter weight. It has come with breast tenderness/swelling, but mine have always been very dulled to sensation, so it's manageable, and it's been a bit nice to have them look larger/fuller. (Though, to be clear, I don't recommend putting yourself through discomfort for cosmetic reasons.) It has cut down on my sex drive, but honestly, it's helped with my relationship and self-esteem with my very low sex drive partner. It's been a very weird set of circumstances and normally detrimental effects that have actually been a bit of a boon to my very specific case. Though I must mention my breasts have started lactating more, though I haven't been pregnant or nursing in years. I do feel as if my mental state is a bit more flighty, but it's been manageable."

"I was on Junel 24 for about two years and loved it, had no acne, and if I did, it went away quickly. Was switched to Hailey because of insurance purposes, but now I break out every month. It’s kind of like I was never on birth control. It’s that out of control. I like this birth control period-wise, but acne-wise, it’s a no from me. I’m going to ask my doctor to switch me back to Junel 24."

"I’m writing this for anyone who reads the reviews and is scared - thank God I didn’t know this site existed when I switched to Hailey. I had a bad experience with my last pill, so I was switched to this about 2-3 years ago. No major side effects, and no major changes to my mental health. In fact, I was able to stop taking my anxiety meds last year and don’t think this birth control affected me in that way. I started getting acne recently, so I’ll be switching to another pill to see if that helps my skin better, but Hailey will remain my backup if that doesn’t work out. No weight gain, I actually work out and lost tons of weight while on this pill. Maybe some hair loss, but that could also be from lots of other factors like stress, my vitamins, etc. If you’re hesitant and scared, I’d say try it anyway! Everyone is different, but overall my experience with this pill has been great. I wish I could stay on it and my acne be better, but I’m sure it’s still helping a little."
