Loestrin 24 Fe (ethinyl estradiol / norethindrone) "I've been on Loestrin 24 for a month now. My doctor prescribed it because I have had long periods in the past and other symptoms of low estrogen. I am also on Celexa to help stabilize the terrible depression and anxiety I get with my menstrual cycle. I started the pill on the first day of my period and my period stopped for two days and then I spotted for a week and a half before having a full period that lasted 8 days. Then I was without spotting or a period for a week before I made it to the brown pills. On the first day of the brown pills my period started again. So, I've pretty much been bleeding all month. I had terrible cramps for 4 days on the pill while I was having a full period. I usually don't get bad cramps."

Loestrin 24 Fe (ethinyl estradiol / norethindrone) "I just finished my first month and it has been wonderful for me! I was using Seasonique from September to June, but I was constantly on my period with it and ever since I switched to Loestrin 24, I have only had my period on the designated days. I was originally given Seasonique because I had periods like 2 times a year and they would be horribly heavy and awful. My period on Loestrin 24 is light and easy to manage. It didn't cut down on any cramping, but Advil can easily cure that. I am so happy I switched! Very pleased!"

Microgestin Fe 1.5/30 (ethinyl estradiol / norethindrone) "I had been on my period for 3months. The microgestin 1/20 was causing heavy bleeding and blood clots. The dr switched me to 1.5/ 30 microgestin and I stopped bleeding in 5 days. I was finally able to consummate my new marriage. So grateful..."

Microgestin 1/20 (ethinyl estradiol / norethindrone) "Stopped my periods all together. It is nice, but my doctor didn't mention it when she prescribed it. Was a little stressful the first month when you skip your period and no one has an explanation. Turns out it is a side effect."

Loestrin 24 Fe (ethinyl estradiol / norethindrone) "I have been on Loestrin 24 for about 7 months now and everything was fine until the 5th month. I've had dark spotting, bad cramps and cystic acne on my back. Has made me feel anxious and hungry almost all the time, have gained weight, bad cramps and worse part is I have my period every 2 weeks for about 5 days and it is heavy. I feel depressed, have mood swings, some hair loss. Doctor has switched me to Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo and I will see how that goes."

Loestrin 24 Fe (ethinyl estradiol / norethindrone) "I'm new to this medication. I notice my fluttering and pounding heart wakes me up, I'm slightly dizzy even when sitting still or lying down, a few days I've had terrible heartburn, some nausea so strong that I took Nauzene and tums with some relief, icepick stabbing headache, headache around my temples that's not relieved by relaxation or aspirin or drinking a lot of water and is relieved somewhat with Aleve, tinnitis, trouble staying asleep even though I keep my normal schedule and use my normal melatonin. I've been kind of sleepy, maybe due to waking up with the other issues. These symptoms are all uncommon for me and obviously caused by the pills. On the positive side I seem to be less moody and anxious than I was getting before."

Loestrin 24 Fe (ethinyl estradiol / norethindrone) "I was put on Leostrin 24 FE to help regulate my period but to also control the bleeding. I was put on this a year ago, and it worked great, then 7 months ago, I would and would not get my period. I talked to my doctor about the problem she said it was normal. I recently started getting my period twice a month."

Loestrin 24 Fe (ethinyl estradiol / norethindrone) "My sister in law has been on this medicine for 3 months now and the ABNORMAL side effects have worsened. She had MASSIVE mood swings and VERY serious DEPRESSION! Before this she was a normal 13 year old girl. She ended up in the hospital from panic attacks and violent behaviors twice now WITH NO DOCTORS ABLE TO FIGURE OUT WHY! My father in-law brought up the point of the medicine and now the doctors have taken her off it. If you have any of theses type of symptoms and have never before had them then maybe this is it!"

Loestrin 24 Fe (ethinyl estradiol / norethindrone) "I have been on this pill on two separate occasions and both times have been exactly the same but I am still on it..the routine for this pill is - the first 3 months you gain weight and it is impossible to get it off. In that time don't even try it wont happen, it's stuck there until after the three months. Then if you try it will start to fall off again. If you don't take this pill the same time every day you will get some breakthrough bleeding but nothing too crazy just some spotting....sometimes I think it has made me more emotional but who knows .... sex drive is way up....really light periods. Scary sometimes you don't know if you are pregnant not a bad birth control."

Necon 1/35 (ethinyl estradiol / norethindrone) "I've been on this birth control for almost three months and I have spotted everyday but around two for the past two months. Doctor suggested I wait this month out to make sure it isn't working, but I'm 100% changing it. Two months straight of bleeding is ridiculous."

Microgestin Fe 1/20 (ethinyl estradiol / norethindrone) "Slowed down my abnormal bleeding after a few weeks, it stopped altogether then started up again but not to the degree that it was before I was taking it. I've gained 10 lbs from it. I eat half of what I used to, ad eat an extremely healthy diet. I do 30 mins of cardio and 30 minutes of weight training 5-6 days a week plus bicycling 7 days a week. I've had awful mood swings and depression. Bad headaches on top of it."

Loestrin 24 Fe (ethinyl estradiol / norethindrone) "I was put on Loestrin 24 because of abnormal periods after having my daughters. I did not experience any changes in mood (which is a first for me on birth control). My cup size increased during the first month and has stayed that size. The only negative side effect is that I developed are two dark spots (Melasma) above my upper lip, which is worsened by exposure to sun. As long as I use sun block, it is not getting worse but it does make me self conscience. Other than that, the pills is regulating me and effective birth control."

Junel Fe 1/20 (ethinyl estradiol / norethindrone) "I've had irregular menstrual cycles for years, and when I did have mine, it fame with vomiting and migraines. Junel Fe was the first thing my doctor suggested - she gave me a trial prescription, and I started as soon as my next period did. I had some hot and cold flashes and loss of appetite for a few days, but other than that, I felt great. When my period came, it was far less severe than usual - I didn't feel nearly as sick, and I didn't have to skip class because I couldn't function. I'm only on my second month of Junel, but so far so great. The few side effects I experienced were well worth the payoff."

Loestrin 24 Fe (ethinyl estradiol / norethindrone) "Been on the pill for three months. Originally because I'd get my period for 7-8 days very heavy and it would make me anemic. Although it's helped with the heavy bleeding I'm getting my period every 2 weeks accompanied by the bad headaches. I decided that the 7-8 days once a month no pill is a better option."

Loestrin 21 1/20 (ethinyl estradiol / norethindrone) "After the first 3 weeks it was amazing. The first 3 weeks I had horrible headaches and nausea but once my body got used to the hormones that went away and I had little to no side effects. I did have weight gain, but I've had that with all the BC's I've tried. I had very heavy periods with awful cramps that were making me miss school/work, and this made my periods very light, regular and with very tolerable cramps. Life saver. I haven't had as good of luck on the "generics" of the loestrin but it got very expensive and then discontinued. Oh, and also no pregnancy."

Loestrin 24 Fe (ethinyl estradiol / norethindrone) "I have been on this pill which is my first birth control pill ever. I am 34 and the first month I took the pill I had some nausea which seemed to be on a timed schedule. I started the first pack on a Sunday and did not take the placebo pills at all. I just kept taking the active pills and the next month I did not have a period but by the second row of pack two I started spotting, and now that I am on pack three I have been bleeding for an entire month. I will take the placebo pills at the end of pack three because I think my results are my own fault, I just thought if I kept taking active pills I would not bleed at all. For the most part I have no issues that were not caused by my own actions, I have lost two dress sizes."

Loestrin 24 Fe (ethinyl estradiol / norethindrone) "I have been on the pill for 3 months now. It did reduce my periods to almost nothing. I have always been really skinny and wore a size 1. After the first month and a half I had gained almost 20 pounds. My clothes don't fit anymore and I'm very uncomfortable with my body. My acne has become bad. I get deep like cysts on my face that don't go away. I went to the dermatologist a month ago and have been prescribed a ton of medications for my acne but nothing is working. I never had acne before this pill. I just stopped taking the pill yesterday. "

Loestrin 24 Fe (ethinyl estradiol / norethindrone) "I am on my second pack week 1. I am on Loestrin24 Fe for Metrorrage or Spotting between period and 2 ovarian cysts. Well, so far I think the cysts are already gone and I have not experienced any more spotting ---HOORAY! I take the pill everyday at 5 p.m. I have no nausea and have lost five pounds. This is amazing because I thought I was going to gain. I noticed a tiny ..I do mean tiny edginess but nothing compared to the Patch when I took it for birth control long ago. I am amazed and very satisfied. Lets hope the pill cures the cysts completely when I get the ultrasound and the spotting ceases for good."

Microgestin Fe 1.5/30 (ethinyl estradiol / norethindrone) "I was on Microgestin for about half a year when my insurance made me choose between paying or switching to Blisovi. I chose Blisovi and only after being on another birth control did I truly recognize how amazing Microgestin is. It stopped my horrible cramps and excessively heavy and long periods in their tracks and gave me my life back. I've never experienced any negative side effects on it. The only bad thing I can say is it almost works a little too good, as in my periods pretty much disappeared. It's weird to go from a week long blood bath to like an hour-long spot of blood as your period, but hey beggars can't be choosers! I don't care, I'll pay to stay on Microgestin than that horrible Blisovi!"

Loestrin 24 Fe (ethinyl estradiol / norethindrone) "Loestrin 24 is definitely the best form of birth control out there. I have been taking it non stop for the last 6 years and I've never had a single problem while taking it. I always take it at the same time every single day and if by chance I miss a day, my periods were never longer. I had a little bit of acne before I started taking the pill and it definitely cleared it up for me. About weight gain, I never gained a pound except in my breasts. If anything, the pill actually allowed me to lose weight. The ONLY negative thing I have to say about Loestrin 24 is that it tends to be a little pricey but if you have insurance, it's definitely the best pill out there! I will never switch from this pill! Very satisfied!"

Loestrin 24 Fe (ethinyl estradiol / norethindrone) "Secondary Amenorrhea - I was put on this medication because I lost my period due to intense athletic training. It brought back my period and I did not experience any strange side effects. I was worried about weight gain but I believe that pill had no effect on my weight. In the time that I was taking it I actually became more lean (but this may have been due to my training). I also noticed a more stable mood and a better control of my blood sugar levels. In addition, my doctor has told me that studies show that athletes with amenorrhea who go on the pill have a reduced risk for low bone density later in life (although the ideal situation is to get your period back naturally). Overall I was satisfied with this medication."

Loestrin 24 Fe (ethinyl estradiol / norethindrone) "I had no trouble the first month, but had a very heavy period at the end of it and then had breakthrough bleeding all month (varying in quantity) for the second month. I thought I'd be all bled out after that and have a light period, but it was heavy again. That was enough for me, and I switched to Ortho Tri-Cyclin Lo (which is what ended up working). No side effects other than the breakthrough bleeding, but that was enough."

Microgestin Fe 1/20 (ethinyl estradiol / norethindrone) "I was initially given two Lo Loestrin Fe samples and had no issues until making the switch to Microgestin Fe 1/20 a few days ago. Due to breaking out in a rash (which zigzags across the top of my thigh) and nerve issues (numbness/pain/tingling that's made it difficult to walk) with my foot, I had to stop taking the pill after 6 days of use. I'm relieved to know that it works for so many. "

"Was diagnosed with fibriods was put on microgestin Fe 1/20. The fibrioids had been the cause of pain and prolonged period ( 7months ). Since I had been on microgestin I have had no issues no periods they have stopped and no pain of any kind. Then when microgestin wasn't available they gave me junel 1/20 fe 1/28. Still hasn't changed, haven't had a period since started taking them. What I would like to know is I'm 48 yrs old and my gynaecologist said he wanted to keep me on these to get through menopause. So how do I know when I'm going through menopause :))"

Loestrin 24 Fe (ethinyl estradiol / norethindrone) "I am a 32 year old women and this is the first time that I've taken birth control pills. My doctor recommended birth control pills to alleviate the pain I was experiencing and heaving bleeding associated with uterine fibroids. I am currently on the second week of the pack and the only complaint I have at the moment is the breakthrough bleeding or spotting after my period. I've only been spotting for 5 days and hoping it will go away. I've noticed a new breakout--a pimple but occasional acne is normal for me. Haven't noticed any weight gain but after reading other reviews, I purchased a scale to monitor my weight. Will keep you posted as I continue to take the pill."
