"Horrible. Took it for 1 month and bled the whole month. Horrible cramping and headaches. Made me depressed and sent my anxiety into overload. Stopped taking after 1 month. Would not recommend this brand to anyone. I would rather go back to dealing with painful periods than ever take this again."

"Okay, well, I finished my last pack of the pills that I have been on for the past 6 months. My last period wasn't as heavy as it usually was, which was great. Also, my 4th day (one of my heavy days) had the flow reduced greatly, which made me very happy. That gave me hope that maybe the rest of my periods would also become manageable. Now I'm on my period again, and I honestly just feel like I want to jump off a bridge. It's back to how heavy it was prior to the pills, and the cramps are back full force. I really don't know what to do at this point..."

"I’ve had mixed experiences with Alyacen 1/35. One big positive is that my skin stayed completely clear—no acne at all, except for some minor chin breakouts during placebo week, and I did notice an increase in chin hairs around that time. My weight remained stable, and I even lost a little, which was a nice benefit. On the downside, I have fibroids, and I noticed they grew while I was on this pill. I also experienced increased anxiety, high blood pressure, and intense mood swings, which were difficult to manage. I’ve decided to switch to a different birth control to see if it’s a better fit for me. That said, if the new one doesn’t work out, I might consider returning to Alyacen since it had some clear advantages."

"There were no immediate, obvious symptoms, but over time I noticed my metabolism slowing down. I had to eat less and exercise more just to maintain my weight on this pill. Even still, I was slowly gaining weight. The pill also caused me to have horrible incontinence and urination urgency. I would pee my pants several times a day, which became a nightmare professionally and personally. Apparently, low estrogen can cause urination urgency, and I believe this pill caused my body to stop making its own estrogen, resulting in a deficiency that caused incontinence and a slow metabolism."

"I've been on continuous Alyacen or the generic equivalent for 15 years for PCOS, endometriosis, and fibroid growth. It's helped with pain, stopped bleeding almost completely except when I have what seems to be an occasional cyst rupture or something. Weight gain has been considerable. I think I'm definitely more irritable, but it certainly does what it's supposed to. I'm looking forward to stopping now that I'm approaching menopause."

"Been on birth control for 4 years and been on 5 different types trying to find one that works. I’ve been on Alyacen for 9 months, this one completely destroyed my sex drive, made me have extreme mood swings and depression phases, and overall I lost myself and had no motivation to do anything. The only good thing is it helps with acne. Most high estrogen pills I’ve been on have all caused these same side effects."

"Same as Ne-Con. Took a couple of weeks to adjust, but same results! Great stuff."

"I've been on Alyacen for 6 months, and with a very active sex life, I can give it a good rating for doing what birth control is supposed to do. However, my mood swings are terrible. From screaming rage and a racing heart in traffic to complete breakdowns at the drop of a hat during a rough day, I have considered coming off Alyacen for that reason alone. Other than that, I think it's been pretty effective."
