"I have been using Seasonique for a little over a year now. The first month and a half on Seasonique is great, but then the spotting starts. For the past 2 1/2 weeks on the last pack, I have been bleeding. It has given me acne and very painful cramps. I am switching to another birth control."

"After taking this medication, I suffered cerebral venous sinus thrombosis (CVST = blood clot in my brain) and stroke. I am 35 years old, was on birth control since 15, was on the Depo shot most of the time. After having my kids, I decided to take this oral contraceptive. And now I suffer a huge brain clot. I’m on blood thinners, being monitored weekly, was hospitalized for weeks, and looking at a year or more recovery. Please be careful what you put into your body. I learned the hard way. Always thinking that won’t happen to me, and it did."

"I have only just begun taking Seasonique, but boy, is it effective. But who could get pregnant when your mood swings are off the charts and you have absolutely no sex drive, and even if I tried to be interested, it wouldn't be worth it because it's too dry. Seriously... my boyfriend and I hate it. Trying to wait it out and see if there is any improvement."

"I'm not the type of person to write reviews, but I had such a bad experience with this pill I felt like I should write about it. I have been on it for a year, and about a week ago I quit it. I started getting headaches every day. I felt weird, like not like myself. I'm generally a really happy person. Being on this birth control, I actually felt really sad a lot. I cried often for no reason, like really cried nonstop for hours at a time. I'm an active person, I go to the gym about three times a week and always have a lot of energy, but on the pill, I felt so tired. It's also expensive. I quit in the beginning of a new pack. I don't care, I had to get off of that. Now that I am off of it, I honestly feel amazing."

"I've been on Seasonique for about a month and a week. I had no bleeding or spotting when first taking this, which from reviews I've read I'm worried if that's normal. I do have trouble taking it on time but do pretty well for the most part. I have experienced nausea and a lot of fatigue. I'm tired a lot! I took a pregnancy test after the first three weeks, and it was negative. I just took it to make sure. Being tired with nausea does make me nervous with this new birth control. But so far, it has been pretty good to me. I hope this is helpful for other women who are on this medication. These other reviews have helped me! Thank you, ladies!"

"This is by far the best pill. I was taken off it before but just recently got back onto it. My periods on this pill were non-existent. Also, no cramps. Having 4 periods a year is fine by me. I recommend this one to anyone. It is the best!!"

"I've been on this BC for a little over a year now. The first few packs were awesome! No mood swings, no breakthrough bleeding, period always on time, smooth sailing. My last two packs have been a nightmare. I'm moody, I'm getting breakthrough bleeding often, and it actually scares me because I always think something is wrong if I'm bleeding and it's not time for my period. My period was over a week late on my last pack. My period isn't due to come for another 3 weeks now, but I'm currently bleeding. Not happy. Will definitely be seeing my doctor about a new pill. Maybe my body has decided it's not strong enough anymore."

"I've been on Seasonique for 6 months, and for the first three months, it worked as it was supposed to, despite some spotting. Now, however, I have an appointment to change it, as for the last 40 days I have had a non-stop period. Not simply spotting, but continuous bleeding. This is not the birth control for me."

"Loved this birth control, had to change because I changed insurance and the new insurance would not pay for it. I began taking this my freshman year of college (did gain the freshman 15-well, 17), but I assumed the weight gain was due to stress and eating Taco Bell and drinking. The first few months, I had some problems, but eventually got on some anxiety medicine and have been fine ever since! I loved having my period only every 3 months. No acne. Great birth control! Would recommend to anyone."

"Like most women today, irregular periods are a headache... so I talked to my doctor about birth control options, and we decided to try Teva, aka Seasonique... worst decision I have made regarding medication. First 2-3 days on the pill were normal, after that, it was absolute hell. Spotting consistently, very moody-ready to take my boyfriend's head off for no reason, migraines that make it hard to function, and fatigue from another world! I stopped this birth control 2 days ago, all the symptoms aside from the spotting are gone. I would not recommend this birth control to my worst enemy. Please discuss other birth control options with your doctor and read other reviews! Always important to listen to your body, do not ignore it!"

"I was on Seasonique for 2 years. Seasonique started out as an okay form of birth control. It took my body a while to get used to it (probably about 2 packs, so 6 months). When I did get used to it, it was great. But then the problems started. I've never had acne or even bad pimples, and my face started to really break out. Also, I don't know if my body got immune to the birth control, but after a while, my heavy periods came back as well as the cramps. Also, if I ever forgot to take my pill and had to double up, I would get really sick. Overall, it started out great, but the effects were not long-term. I've gained 15 pounds, and my libido is very low, and I'm very dry when having intercourse. Also, as mentioned earlier, it gave me very bad acne."

"Loved this birth control! I never had spotting or breakthrough bleeding during the 3 months of active pills. So nice to not have a monthly period. The only reason I'm switching is that my acne has gotten really bad because of stress."

"My first two months on it were not really good - I had constant spotting since 2 weeks from the start, and I was quite moody and sensitive. The only good thing was my acne cleared up. Then I missed one pill on accident and got a full-blown period in 2 days, and I was like - nope, that's it, I give up, but my ob-gyn told me, 'try to finish the box and then if it continues the same with the 2nd box we can try something else,' and boy, am I glad I did. After that 'period,' spotting never returned, the box is finished, moodiness is gone, skin is still clear, and my scheduled period was completely painless for the first time in my life. So I'm super happy with it now."

"I love taking Seasonique. I spotted on and off for the first three months after starting this birth control pill, and after that, I never had an issue with it. I have been on this since March 2011. My periods are also so light that they are barely noticeable and last three days tops, so I really only have my period for 12 days a year. That is perfectly great by me. However, I recently decided to stop taking birth control as I have not been sexually active and do not plan to be anytime soon. Since I stopped taking this in April 2015, I have gained 15 pounds regardless of working out 5 times a week and limiting my diet, and my diet has only improved over the last five years."

"This is the only birth control I've been on, and I have been on this now for four years. What a lifesaver. I have hardly any cramps at all. I had to stop taking this for a little bit because I was spotting."

"I'm about to start on the placebo pills, and I'm intensely considering not starting the new pack. When I first started this birth control, I had mild nausea and light cramping. Since then, I've gained 10 pounds, I'm tired, nauseous, and bloated all the time. For me, it's been all the fun pregnancy symptoms without actually conceiving (Doctor confirms my ego is not preggo), so I'm seriously debating stopping it. My lifestyle three months ago is no different than my lifestyle now, with the exception of this stinky little pill, and I can say that I am definitely unhappier now."

"Started this thinking it would be a great fit for me. I am 23 years old, just had a baby 6 weeks before. I had stopped the bleeding after having a baby, so I started taking the birth control. After a few days, I noticed right away that my anxiety got really bad. I had ZERO patience for anything, which was taking a toll on my family (this is not due to the new baby). I didn't want to be around anyone, everything annoyed me. I am normally a very laid-back, easygoing person, so this was abnormal. The panic attacks would get so horrible I would curl up in a ball and cry. My sex drive was normal, but wasn't there because all I would do was bleed heavily. I have been bleeding heavily for 3 weeks now. Stopped the pack after 2 weeks."

"I have been taking Seasonique since I gave birth to my second child in March 2011, and I enjoy having only four periods a year. However, I do notice that once my period comes, I experience severe migraines where I am knocked to the floor in pain. I also get moderate acne around my jawline when I do have my period, even though I do not mind it as much since it helps out with my acne when I do not have my period."

"I've been on Seasonique/generics for 4+ years. I've never had any major issues with them. I take the 3-month contraceptive to avoid withdrawal bleeding (I'm not sexually active). Side effects I've experienced are spotting maybe once or twice all these years and abdominal pain frequently. Unfortunately, it doesn't do much for me once I go through withdrawal bleeding, it's still very painful, like my period before I started. But it at least reduces the number of times I get it. I recommend it if you are considering this for period pain/frequency."

"I was on this pill for 4 years! It was my first birth control I was ever on, and I originally got on it because I didn’t want to have periods anymore. Not having periods was the ONLY good thing about this birth control. I constantly got yeast infections, ZERO sex drive, I was so dry down there, and constant nausea. I didn’t realize it was my birth control making me feel that way for 4 years until I came off of it."

"I took this pill because I wanted fewer and lighter periods. I have had no side effects when I take it properly. I did not experience any weight gain, and my sexual drive was not affected. However, like with any pill, misusing it has consequences. There have been times where I have forgotten to take it with me on trips, and the cramping was unpleasant and usually resulted in light spotting. That’s pretty much par for the course, though. Wish it was cheaper."

"This pill has really worked for me! I don’t get any side effects, and my skin looks really great. I’ve been on two other pills, and they caused me to break out, have continuous spotting, and worsened my depression. Seasonique just works really well with my body!"

"I have been on Seasonique for almost three years and have not had any issues! I love only having my period 4 times a year. Additionally, I don’t experience heavy bleeding when I do get my period, and my usual symptoms are so much less intense. Initially, I did bleed for almost two weeks when I started the pack, which was not fun, but since my body regulated to it, it has been great!"

"I was on this for a year and a half, and I never had periods during the off weeks, which my doctor said was common. I did notice some weight gain and increased appetite. The reason I stopped taking it is because I developed melasma on my forehead and upper lip. I used Nexplanon and other combination pills before this and never had issues with my skin."

"I have been on Seasonique for about three years. I was totally unaware of all the different side effects that women have been experiencing (such as hair loss, etc.). In general, I am rather happy with this pill. I rarely ever spot, my skin has not changed, my weight has not changed, and neither has my hair. However, over such a long period of time-now that I think about it, I don't really know if my hair, weight, and skin have changed due to Seasonique or the fact that I am no longer 19. Overall, I like the pill very much since having fewer periods is always, always a good thing in my book. However, I literally feel as though I have become asexual due to my VERY little sex drive, which at 22 should be kicking."
