"I got my tubes tied and couldn't deal with the frequent, long, and heavy periods that ensued, so I went on Seasonique to achieve lighter, less frequent periods. I've had some spotting here and there (particularly after intercourse), but my main issue with this pill is that it gives me constant heart palpitations. I went through a series of tests with a cardiologist, and everything was fine, except they did confirm pretty constant 'skipped' beats. It's more annoying than anything. Monthly pills give me migraines, and no pill at all is what got me here in the first place. I am at my wit's end."

"I have been on BC since I was 17. I first had NuvaRing for 4 years, and then I heard about Seasonique and was excited about having only 4 periods a year. The first month (January 2015) was perfect-no spotting, no weight gain, no period. Halfway into February, I started spotting and thought, okay, this may be normal. After two days, the spotting stopped... it returned four days later, and I continued to spot up until the end of March when it was time for my period! I started a new pack, and everything went smoothly-no spotting until the week before my scheduled period. I started a new pack in July, and everything was okay. I started spotting really heavy on July 31st, and my period isn't supposed to come until the end of September... should have stayed on NuvaRing."

"I was having horrible peri-menopause symptoms. Basically PMS from hell. And it kept getting worse as I got older. I have never been on the pill before (I'm 47) and was hesitant to take it. But I did because I was suffering. I think the third day after I started Seasonique, I felt better. It was amazing. I suspect I have always had hormonal issues because I started to feel 'normal,' which I had never felt before. The only two things negative I can say are that I was always fatigued, and plus when I first started taking it, I became bloated. I stopped taking it due to another health issue I have, but would take it again if I could. Not having a period for 3 months at a time was wonderful."

"I have been on birth control since I was 12 and am now 20. I suffer from menorrhagia as well as various other medical conditions pertaining to my reproductive system. I have literally tried 10 birth controls: Yaz, Yasmin, Ortho Tri-Cyclen, Ortho Novum, Depo Provera, etc. I have always had my period for 3 months (that being a short period for me), and this is the only birth control that has regulated me. I am so happy with this birth control and highly recommend it. There are always side effects from any type of birth control, but this one has only given me tender breasts. I can't complain too much, as the others did not work sufficiently in regulating my flow, reducing my period length, controlling my moodiness - but this birth control did."

"I started Seasonique because I had heavy periods that lasted 7 days and got worse after I had my daughter. I started bleeding, just spotting, and didn't really think much of it. My midwife told me to continue, and it should last long. I am now on day 20 of bleeding, and it's been like a normal period with lots of cramping. I will be discontinuing today as I can't take the side effects anymore!!"

"I've been taking Seasonique for two years. Overall, I'd say that I love it - it's nice not having to worry about a period every month. However, there are some side effects. I have noticed my personality has changed tremendously. I no longer get enthused about things, butterflies in my tummy don't exist for anything. I get really nervous and paranoid as well, and it started after I started taking Seasonique. My hair has also thinned out slightly and not very noticeably around the deep end of my part, but it's really not a big deal. My periods don't start until the 4-5 sugar pills though! It's great! However, I'm switching to Sprintec because I'm sexually active and waiting for 2 months to find out if you're pregnant doesn't enthuse me very much."

"Seasonique was the second pill I tried after having breakthrough bleeding issues with the first. I take it for protection and because my regular periods are horrible. I’m about to finish my first pack and so far it’s not been good. I first had breakthrough bleeding around the time I would’ve normally gotten my period if I weren’t on the pill. The bleeding was pretty close to what my period would be like and it stopped after 5-7 days. This happened again after a month, right when I’d get my period again. It started out as spotting that I only really needed a panty liner for (and I was warned about spotting by my doctor). After a few days I needed a pad. It’s been that way ever since. I’ve been bleeding nonstop for a month and one week now. I’m currently taking antibiotics to try to stop the bleeding, as recommended by my doctor. It’s honestly torture. The cramps never go away, I’ve gone through so many menstrual products, and it’s just overall really stressful."

"I started this birth control 2 weeks after my period ended as that’s just how it timed out, and the doctor said it would be fine and I shouldn’t have another period. I started my period again literally the 3rd day of the pill, and I haven’t stopped. This has been one of the most painful periods of my life! I have been passing clots the entire time, and at about 2 weeks of bleeding, I thought it was going to be the end of me with all this pain and then passed a decidual clot! The scariest thing I’ve ever seen. My doctor asked me to keep taking it and said I should stop bleeding after the decidual clot. I continued to bleed and pass more clots (HOW!?) and my doctor finally said to stop taking it. I’m now at day 5 since quitting and still bleeding, cramping, passing clots. Not to mention this made me PMDD over the top, I was suicidal, I sabotaged my living arrangements and long-time friendships and nearly tanked my job. I’ve been living in a nightmare for a month."

"2nd month. Weight gain, horrible acne, nausea, and spotting every day. Even started 2 full-blown periods during this month and a half. Trying to stick with it, not sure."

"This BC was great for the first pack, then I started bleeding nonstop, heavy. Bleeding stopped as soon as I quit taking it! Never again!"

"Since I started using Seasonique 3 weeks ago, I haven't stopped spotting. Today, my face was so bloated, and I had really bad stomach cramps."

"I have been on Seasonique for 1 year, and ever since the beginning, I can't stop bleeding. This last cycle has been 28 days of straight heavy bleeding. I would rather be pregnant again."
