"I am only on day 7, so far, this pill has helped my ovarian cyst pain. I still have some pain, but not as bad as before. It has also cleared up my acne so far. I had one migraine and one time had some nausea. But other than that, I can also tell this pill has helped my mood. So far, so good, will continue to take this pill."

Ethinyl estradiol / levonorgestrel "I was on Alesse for two full months. I had breakthrough bleeding for the entire first month. Throughout the two months, I was nauseous, had stomach cramps, and had terrible headaches two to three times a week. I have never had a problem with headaches before, and these were unbearable. I had night sweats, and worst of all, my depression and anxiety became the worst that I have ever seen them. Whenever I went on the 7 days of sugar pills, my mood would improve. It worked wonders as a contraceptive, and it got rid of my hormonal acne, which is the reason I went on it. However, I'll deal with the acne because it's better than me wanting to die. This won't happen to everyone because I do have other mental health issues."

Ethinyl estradiol / levonorgestrel "I have been taking this drug for 4 weeks so far, and I am highly disappointed. I have an ovary cyst, and I need to block my period completely for several months to see what is happening (the cyst is growing with each period). Instead, 19 days after my last period, I got slight bleeding, then it got worse, and right now I am having almost 10 days of light bleeding while taking this without a break. I paid $45 for it. I have never paid this high amount for 3 X 21 birth control pills."

Ethinyl estradiol / levonorgestrel "It has been a month since I have been taking Seasonique. So far, the only thing I noticed is an increase in appetite, waking up earlier, not sleeping soundly enough, feeling bloated all the time, and the bleeding is just ridiculous. I have been spotting/bleeding since the first day. But, I am not going to give up, I want to see what happens and if it's good. I just can't quit smoking, and that worries me. Good luck!"

Ethinyl estradiol / levonorgestrel "Been on Lessina for a month and a half, skipped sugar pills to not have to deal with my extreme PMS, as advised by my doctor. I have been bleeding for three weeks! The heaviest and most clotting period I have ever had to deal with! I have had tender breasts and horrible mood swings. I am so anxious and tired. I could not tell you if it works for birth control, haven't been able to have sex since I have started this due to a prolonged period."

Ethinyl estradiol / levonorgestrel "I started taking this pill about a month and a half ago and have had nothing but problems. I started taking it in the morning when I would be getting ready for work, then get sick about halfway through the day. So I decided to take it at night, and I wake up at night and get sick from it. Also, my first period on it lasted 10 days. I'm on day 7 of the current one. I have horrible mood swings and cramps, which I have never had a problem with before."

"My birth control got switched from Jolessa over to this horrible pill. I have been in constant pain for months due to agonizing headaches. I have them every day, and they last for hours, if not all day. I feel so fatigued, out of energy, and unmotivated. Not to mention excessive sweating and hot flashes, nausea, diarrhea, cramps, the works. It has caused my blood pressure to rise through the roof, along with heart palpitations. I've never gone through so much pain every day in my life. Finally, my doctor is taking me off of it, after months and months of not knowing why I was sick. Don't take this pill. It's horrid."

Ethinyl estradiol / levonorgestrel "After the month, I started to have headaches. I've always had cysts and, as a consequence, acne. It got worse! Terrible! And I started to have hair everywhere! It's horrible! The doctor said it was going to get better after the three months, it's been six, and it's just worse every day. I'm definitely changing."

Ethinyl estradiol / levonorgestrel "I began taking this pill after my insurance company sent this medication to my pharmacy instead of my Luthera. When I first started this pill pack, I didn't notice anything yet, but at the end of the second week, I missed a pill and then had breakthrough bleeding for three weeks straight. I also began noticing severe mood swings and mood changes, breast swelling and tenderness, and pretty consistent bloating. I thought I would give it one more month to see if my body just needed to adjust, but all the symptoms remained throughout the next month, aside from spotting a little less frequently, but the mood swings got 10 times worse at the end of the month when I was on the inactive pill and my everyday anxiety increased substantially as well. I couldn't handle the side effects from this and simply had to have my pharmacy order me the Luthera."

Ethinyl estradiol / levonorgestrel "I've been taking this birth control for over a year now. I have experienced breaking out, having major anxiety that I can't even go out in public anymore because it's that bad! Major depression and having a lack of confidence because of anxiety. This birth control is no good, it feels like it's wrecking my life!"

Ethinyl estradiol / levonorgestrel "I loved the idea of this birth control because it would’ve been nice to only have four periods a year, so when my gynecologist recommended it to me, I wanted to try it. Before this, I tried two other birth control pills to help control my cramps from ovarian cysts, but neither one of them helped. Seasonique helped my cramps for the first pack, but when I got to the placebo pills on the second pack, I bled for twelve weeks straight. I honestly thought it was never going to stop, and it was just awful. I wouldn’t recommend this birth control, but it affects everyone differently."

Ethinyl estradiol / levonorgestrel "I tried this birth control pill when Generess FE stopped their coupon program that allowed me to pay $25/mo. Still pricey compared to the many options available for $10 or less, but I loved Generess FE, so it was totally worth it. Anyway, the price went up to $40/mo. without the coupon, so I decided to try something else. My doc recommended Lutera, and my insurance covered it completely. Within a month of taking the pill, I turned into a complete nightmare to be around. I didn't gain weight or break out as some other reviews noted, but I was always irritable and never wanted to be around anyone. My poor fiancé was probably scared to death of me; everything he did was wrong, and I made sure to let him know. I switched back to Generess after 2 mos."

"Without birth control, my ovarian cysts would rupture, therefore, not taking birth control is not an option for me. I was on LO/Ovral before my OB switched me. I had been on it since April 2017. I love having my menstrual cycle every three months. However, I have gained thirty pounds since April. I eat right and exercise, and still, nothing is helping. I am convinced that it's the BC. I am looking into switching! Only having a period four times a year is not worth all this weight gain. Also, if I forget one day... then BAM, I am bleeding. It sucks."

Ethinyl estradiol / levonorgestrel "This BC in only one month has given me the worst experience. I’m constantly nauseous and dizzy. Have gained eight pounds even though I have had loss of appetite and have been retaining water like crazy, my ankles are swollen so bad. Have always had bad anxiety, but it has become crippling, and I have experienced a lot of dark thoughts and am constantly sad. This medicine is horrible, and I will never take it again."

Ethinyl estradiol / levonorgestrel "I've been on many pills and have had bad experiences with all of them. Mood swings, depression, exhaustion, loss of sex drive, breakouts, etc. Lutera seems like one of the best of the worst, I guess. It made my boobs plumper, which rocks, but I've lost my sex drive pretty much entirely, so what is the point of that? I'm taking it to control ovarian cysts and endometriosis, but I'm going to stop, maybe try another, because I find that I get mad or resentful at my boyfriend when there's nothing out of the ordinary going on, and I don't really care if I see my friends or not. Stuff I used to feel passionate about is like... whatever. I miss me. At least Lutera didn't make me feel like offing myself like Ortho did, but it's still not great."

Ethinyl estradiol / levonorgestrel "I thought this pill was awful. So bad I could only take it for 5 days before I quit. It gave me awful cramps, and then after I quit I have been dealing with constant urges to go to the bathroom (urinate) for two weeks now. I never had that before taking the pill. It's just awful... I don't recommend!"

Ethinyl estradiol / levonorgestrel "This medicine made me have terrible uterine bleeding for 75 days in a row, accompanied by terrible uterine pain. It's been a full week since I stopped the medicines, and the bleeding and pain have both stopped. My cysts have shrunk to half their size, but I'm not sure if the cysts were ever a problem to begin with."

Ethinyl estradiol / levonorgestrel "I switched to LoSeasonique after taking LoEstrin24 for about a year because I was still getting extreme side effects from my periods (passing out, couldn't get out of bed, etc.) and stopped taking it after the first month and a half because my skin was breaking out really badly. This past month was my first month being off birth control in about 3 or 4 years, and it was horrible! I started a new pack of LoSeasonique this afternoon to see if my skin will react any differently, and if I do end up breaking out again, I will switch back to LoEstrin."

Ethinyl estradiol / levonorgestrel "2 years ago I decided to have an ultrasound to determine why I suffered such debilitating menstrual cramps, my gyn only found a very small ovarian cyst and sent me on my way with some Advil. A year later I started having chronic urinary type infections and on the 3rd visit was told I had a huge fibroid or cyst. I immediately had another ultrasound and found the cyst had grown to 7.5 centimeters. My gyn then wanted to do immediate surgery and explained that if they can't drain it that most likely I would need a hysterectomy. When I asked why and how cysts occur, his only answer was that it is complicated. So I went home, got on the internet, reviewed hundreds of websites and found no reasonable explanation for cyst formation. At this point I was in chronic pain from the cyst pressing against my bladder, and had developed chronic odor in my urine for 6 months that even the antibiotics could not cure."

Ethinyl estradiol / levonorgestrel "This is a terrible drug. I have tried 5 or 6 different birth control pills, but this one was unbearable. It gave me panic attacks, nausea, dizziness, and high blood pressure. I didn't last a week. I would never ever recommend this birth control pill. I can't wait until it is 100% out of my system."
