"Since age 12, I had cramps that would literally make me throw up, bleeding that was so heavy it took 10-12 super tampons a day, and prolonged periods of up to a month. This medication was a lifesaver. My period is now light, few cramps, and very short. It helps with my problems. But of course, there are some things I don't particularly like. My sex drive is absolutely zero (my boyfriend doesn't appreciate that), and I'm more emotional than ever. Random crying outbreaks happen, and the feeling of raging."

"Seasonique made my face break out. I had a lot of spotting and abdominal cramps. I was prescribed Seasonique to regulate my periods, and it did the exact opposite! Since day one of starting this product, I have had to wear a pad because of the spotting."

"I've been on this for a month, and I was in horrible shape. Spotting, mood swings, headaches, chest pain, shortness of breath, weight gain, major cramps, and tummy gurgling. I was in a bad mood every day, and I couldn't be nice to my children. I stopped taking them, and it's like magic, all my symptoms disappeared. I'm so upset. My new doctor recommended this since they do not carry Chateal. I loved Chateal. It worked great! I wish my insurance carried these. Never will I take nor recommend this because."

"I took this med for about a week and a half. The first few days, pleasantly, no side effects. Then I started having the worst insomnia, vivid nightmares, and deep-bone back pain/body aches every night. Fast forward to days 7-9, I still had all of the above, plus acne, panic attacks, racing thoughts, stomach cramps, diarrhea, depression, and hot flashes. At this point, I would rather have heavy, painful periods! I am an attorney and cannot function like this."

"I started the Seasonale pill because the heavy bleeding caused me to become very anemic to the point I had to get iron infusions. It does make me crave everything, my sex drive is going down a little, and I have been bleeding for a while. It went from using a panty liner to using pads, and I'm not even through my third pack of pills. Not sure if I can handle the bleeding like this. And let's not mention the cramps. I have never in my life had cramps like this, like someone is on the inside of me scraping out my insides. I don't think I can hang."

"I was put on this medicine because my doctor found a uterine fibroid after I went in for abnormal bleeding complications. I haven't done well on other birth control methods that caused life-threatening reactions, so of course, I was scared to find that my treatment option had to be birth control. So far, my experience has been great. I had intensified nausea at the start, it subsided after the first week. I've completely lost my appetite and have to force myself to eat at least once a day. So in my first two weeks, I lost seven pounds. No complaints there. I haven't had abnormal bleeding or cramps throughout my day, so it appears to be doing what it is supposed to."

"Have had a period with cramps since Sept 2019. Started Seasonique to try to get rid of my abnormal bleeding. I had heavy periods, migraines, nausea, and cramps prior to starting, and weeks of spotting. Now I'm on my 46th pill of Seasonique and am STILL experiencing moderate bleeding, must wear tampons or pads daily since Sept, and I have nausea, upset bowels, and horrible cramps. Sometimes I can't even stand up. My doctor said to keep taking it and finish the pack and it will get better. WILL IT? I have not stopped bleeding for months, and it's so difficult to explain to a spouse why I feel sick and am STILL also bleeding."

"Yes, this medicine was a lifesaver in the beginning. But recently, I have felt as if I am losing my mind and myself. I have constant anxiety, and when it turns into a panic attack, it is draining. I have apocalyptic feelings and struggle to believe myself and others. I would recommend not going on this medicine and saving yourself the mental pain because there are other measures that can be taken."

"I am on my 2nd pack of Aviane and will be starting on the sugar pills tonight. I love this pill! I do not have as many side effects as I used to have with other pills. I had a few headaches and some nausea in my first month of using this, but those are gone now. No breast tenderness, no noticeable weight gain, although I have an increased appetite, but I try to balance it with a healthy diet and exercise at least 3 times a week. My previous one (Sprintec) caused me to spot, and I was having a period for 3 weeks straight. On Aviane, I have no spotting, and my periods last for only 7 days and are light. I used to have really heavy bleeding, which caused my iron levels to be depleted. I develop pimples here and there, but they are manageable. I do not have any mood swings on this pill, and that is just wonderful. I just feel happy every day! Aviane is a game changer for me, and I am so glad that I found it :)"

"Where do I start? First pack was great. No spotting until the very end of the second month, then full-blown period during the middle of the third month of my first pack (three months of pills per pack, just to clarify). So, I thought I should go ahead and start my second three-month pack and treat it like I'm having my period even though it technically was too early. Well, I haven't stopped bleeding for about a month now, and the bleeding has gotten worse, passing huge clots and all of the lovely things that go along with that. Called my doctor, and she said to stop and start taking a monophasic BC pill, and that should stop the bleeding and get my uterus back to normal. Hoping this will work and won't have an eternal period!"

"I went to pick up my Jolessa refill (I loved), and they gave me Quasense. Had spotting/bleeding all summer - 2 months, serious weight gain, terrible cramps, and no libido. With 30 days left in the pack - I could no longer bear the symptoms and stopped 3 days ago. It's nice to have my life back! Bleeding stopped, bloating diminished, and desired intimacy with my husband again. This was really a terrible experience. Lesson - stop sooner if not working, don't change your medicine."

"Jolessa is awesome! I've been on it before and had spotting during the first pack, but then it worked great! I began using it again, and this time my doctor suggested taking the first month and stopping for a week to get a period and then continuing with the second and third month. (So two periods on the first pack) to minimize, if not eliminate, breakthrough bleeding or spotting. Worked well, and I couldn't be happier. Regulated and way less painful!"

"Excess facial hair has always been a problem for me, as well as abnormally heavy periods. For the first time in my life, I don't have to worry about waking up with dark hairs sprouting out of my chin. Three months ago, before taking this pill, I was plucking/waxing every day, and now my upper lip and chin hair have been reduced by 90%. I am 30 years old. Anyone else have this experience? OCs are not a common treatment for excess hair, and I'm wondering why, because this has been a life-changing experience for me. I don't think I am imagining things. I went from plucking at least once a day to a couple of times a week. Thanks for reading."

"Before I begin my review, I would like to point out to other viewers that some other reviews may scare you, but you should not be intimidated by them, as everyone has a different experience on birth control. That being said, I was iron deficient due to my menstrual cycle, but I was extremely against birth control as a solution for irrational reasons (weight gain, acne, chest growth). Once I began taking Aviane, it not only did its job of regulating my period within the first twenty-four hours, but it also cleared up my skin and stopped my hormonal mood swings for the most part. Weight gain has not been too much of an issue either, as I have not gained a noticeable amount of weight. Overall, I have been very happy with the results of this medication, and would recommend it to others, especially those with heavy menstrual cycles."

"I was having heavy bleeding and long cycles, they would last over 2 weeks. With my next cycle, I started taking Levlen on day one and had no bleeding on day two. I was surprised how quickly it worked to stop bleeding immediately."

"I started taking this pill 8 years ago. It was awesome. Light periods that lasted only a few days! Recently, on the third month, spotting started. I figured the period was coming early because of stress. About 3 weeks later, I’m having the heaviest period I’ve had in YEARS! Painful cramps, clots, and just so much bleeding! I am miserable!"

"I started this 2 weeks ago when my period started. At first, the cramps were crazy and random. The bleeding was heavy for the first 3 days, but I was used to that with my normal period. After that, everything is fine. I haven't had any of the side effects everyone is talking about. The only thing I experience is hot flashes in the middle of the night. But those are better than having mood swings and everything else. I got the med to regulate my heavy periods and hormones, and so far, so good. I will let you know how next month goes."

"I have been on Seasonique since grade 10 of high school because my periods were very irregular. For the first year and a half, it worked perfectly with no side effects whatsoever. But now, every third month of the pack, I spot heavily the whole time. I have brought more liners and pads than I ever would have had to. I absolutely love having my period only 4 times a year, but now it's like I'm having a month-long period every 3 months. I am considering switching to something else because I don't know if I can keep living with it. If anyone has an explanation for why this is happening, please share it with me."

"I started taking Jolessa to alleviate perimenopausal symptoms, i.e., inability to sleep, weight gain, fatigue, unpredictable periods, thinning hair, and new facial hair. The first month on it, my facial hair lightened up and my face became smooth again. My mood lifted, and I felt great, but that was the only beneficial thing about it. I started bleeding for months-heavily. Using tampons and pads at the same time did not protect me from accidents. The minute I stood up in the morning, it would be flowing all over the place. I started getting bouts of sciatic nerve pain, and severe pain in my knees. I'd be unable to go from a sitting to standing position. I had headaches and more weight gain. I immediately stopped taking it and opted to try natural herbs and vitamins: hemp oil, kohosh, omegas, and magnesium/zinc. Plus, I just started taking the cherry juice concentrate. I wouldn't recommend it. Try to go natural, you'll see the benefits like I did."

"Hate this birth control. Just finished the first pack. I’m on my 6th week of bleeding, and now that I’m on the placebos, I’m having the heaviest period I’ve had in years. I’m at my wits' end. Want to rip my hair out. Can’t stand this birth control."

"I started this drug because I have painful cramps and pretty heavy periods, and also I have symptoms of PMDD. On the first month, my boobs got a bit swollen and tender, and I had less depression, which was cool. The 2nd month was cool, other than occasional spotting. Then on the 3rd month, I made the mistake of forgetting my daily pill, and my period started, and it’s been happening for about 7 days so far, and there’s no sign of it stopping. The cramps are bearable, though, my flow isn’t as heavy either, but I still have some depressive symptoms and mood swings, but it’s not as bad as before I took this drug. I don’t think it’s terrible, though, and I would take it again since it did reduce my cramps."

"I am rating this birth control (BC) an 8/10 because it truly has helped me control my horrible bleeding and bad cramping with my periods. The reason I took 2 points off is due to the bad headaches I got for 2 weeks and the spotting I had for the first few months. This has seemed to stop now. I have not gained any weight, and my skin has cleared up from my former hormonal acne. I am so happy I was prescribed this pill. I am no longer worried about getting pregnant, and I finally have a light and manageable menstrual cycle. My period lasted 2 days as compared to off the pill it was 7-8! My sex drive is better due to my ability to not be worried about unwanted pregnancy. Thank you, Cam Lo, for making me feel normal again! :)"

"Started spotting 3rd week starting Seasonique generic Camrese. Bleeding was very minimal, spotting the first week. But I am now on my 9th day and started passing clots. My periods before starting Seasonique were at most 5-6 days long. I've never in my life experienced bleeding for so long. I started this BC in hopes of not having so many periods, and since I was very irregular, I wanted to control it. The only thing so far I've experienced is more bleeding! I'm getting married in 3 months. What am I supposed to do if this bleeding doesn't stop?! Does anyone have suggestions? Otherwise, I'm thinking of just stopping altogether."

"I say do not buy this birth control. I started taking this to control my abnormal periods. After the first month being fine, I started to bleed in the middle of the pack. This was around July... It is now September, and I am still currently bleeding. I will never use this product again, save yourself the money and trouble."

"I am on my second, three-month pack of LoSeasonique, and I am seriously contemplating stopping the birth control. My first three-month pack, around week six, I started bleeding. This lasted about a week, and I thought my body was adjusting. Since then, my face has broken out - I have never had acne problems. I am now on week four of my second cycle of pills, and I am now bleeding lightly again. I am experiencing the worst cramps I have ever had in my life. All I do is sleep, and I am still exhausted all the time. I can't even get myself to do normal activities like grocery shopping."
