"I went on this because I really liked the sound of only 4 periods a year (mine are miserable & heavy). I didn't have any spotting on the 1st pack. However, on just about every pack since then, I've had anywhere from 1-3 weeks of spotting. Sometimes it's just brown discharge, other times it warrants a tampon. My periods are just as heavy and miserable. I also initially had a massive acne flare-up when I started Camrese. About twice per pack, I'll break out badly on my face - once during my period and about 2-3 weeks after that. I'll be asking for a different brand at my next visit. Been on this for 1 year, but hey, I didn't get pregnant."

"I like Camrese. I used to take Seasonique but changed insurance and now Camrese is free. I had some spotting, but it went away promptly. I never had a lot of spotting, and I never get my period every month off of birth control anyways, probably due to low vitamins and/or low weight. Camrese made me break out with a lot of blackheads on my chin and around my mouth. Non-smoker, 26, had been taking Seasonique since 15, so about 11 years. Camrese makes me feel hungrier. Mood is pretty average, PMS seems a bit more intense. But it's free, and it's keeping me from getting pregnant."

"Horrible! If I could rate a 0, I would. Started having headaches (I never, ever have headaches), got my period for 10 days six weeks in, bp went from 100/60 to 158/98. Missed 2 doses, so I followed the directions, and upon taking them and my normal dose, shit hit the fan. I couldn't breathe, my heart was racing, and my bp went through the roof. I was sent to ER (after my first 2 visits) to get checked for a PE, have had a million tests done, several EKGs, and have a spot with a cardiologist. I have been waiting for the drugs to get out of my system (the half-life is about a month), and I am lightheaded, have the worst anxiety (never, ever had it before, so it's really hard to deal with, which is making it worse), really jittery, and not happy."

"I got on Camrese to help control my endometriosis. I ended up hospitalized with extreme high blood pressure and severe vascular migraines. Never had these issues before Camrese. After 7 days of bed rest, I am still waiting for this BCP to get out of my system."

"I've taken this medication for about two years. Everything about it is wonderful, except the cramps I get right before my period are so intense. I wake up in the middle of the night throwing up from the pain. I've never been through or experienced anything like it and contemplate going to the ER every time it happens. It's like one intense cramp that won't let go for 30 minutes or so and typically leaves me in tears. I've asked my doctor about it, and he says it's normal, but after going through this every period, enough is finally enough. I'm going to ask to switch back to a typical 1-month dosage. Otherwise, it's been wonderful only having a period every 3 months with little side effects!"

"I've been on this birth control for about 4 years now, and the very beginning of it was hard. I was young, so I wasn't paying attention to how my body was reacting, but looking back, it made me hungry with a huge appetite, and I had spotting for almost a month straight. The doctor said it was normal, and I just needed to adjust. I've been on this medication since, and I think it's great. Only giving 9/10 because I do get frequent spotting when I'm not supposed to, but what do you expect from something that only makes you have your period every 3 months. The other major downfall of this medication is that I completely lost my sex drive."

"I have been taking this pill for almost two weeks, and it has increased my libido times 100, and I am feeling normal again... Not as many mood swings as before and no depression. I have increased G-spot sensation and feel amazing... It will be nice to have my period only 4 times a year. I would recommend this to patients who have had difficulties with frequent UTIs and yeast infections due to the pill. I would never go back to Junel after this."

"This birth control made me miserable. By the completion of the first week, I started to get these crippling headaches, nausea, and dizziness. I also experienced a couple of episodes of serious night sweats. I was extremely sad the entire time I was on it. To top all of that off, I never stopped bleeding! That's right, I've been bleeding for 3 weeks straight and counting. Finally, my mother and husband had to force me off the stuff because they saw how miserable I was. The only positive was that my skin cleared up a great deal. It just wasn't for me."

"It was not worth it. I had to stop it after two months. I had side effects of severe depression, extreme anxiety (which also affected my sleep - yet I was always exhausted), lethargy, no sex drive whatsoever, irritability... I wanted to eat 24/7 even when I was full to the point of being sick. My hair fell out/shed WAY more than usual. It did not help my acne. The only thing it did was prevent pregnancy, yet it made me more susceptible to yeast infections due to strange discharge. I would dread taking it every day. It made my boobs a lot bigger, but the other fluid retention and weight gain canceled it out. I’m done with birth control for a while... back to heavy, painful periods."

"Was on Seasonique for a couple of years, it worked extremely well. Hardly any breakthrough bleeding. Camrese started out okay, but within a couple of months, the bleeding began and would not stop. I had consistent spotting for months. I am now just coming off this pill and have started with a new one. Hope this one stops the bleeding!!!"

"So I originally started on Camrese for dealing with my heavy flow/painful periods (like super painful), and when I started, I was bleeding for over 2 weeks!! I hated it. It wasn't a lot of blood, more like light, but it was frustrating as I was not comfortable with having to wear pads all the time, so I went to my doctor, and she prescribed Junel FE. It was terrible, I had irritability, nausea, etc. So I asked to go back to Camrese, and it worked for the first 5 months, no problem, but then I had spotting again. So I asked for a new pill, but that made my period twice as heavy flow. I then asked my doctor if I could have the same hormones in Camrese but for monthly and not yearly, but she said I can do that myself. I love it now!"

"I have been taking birth control for almost 10 years. After switching insurance companies, I was also forced to switch birth control. I was also placed on the extended cycle birth control to lower the chance of the cysts I just had removed returning. This birth control made me have crazy mood swings and feel very depressed. I rated it 2/10 because, hey, I didn't get pregnant, and I don't feel pain indicating my cysts have returned. I am approaching my 2nd month not taking this, my skin looks worse than it ever has, and I am broken out on my jawline (I would never break out there previously). My mood, however, has resumed to its former chipper self! I would not recommend this birth control to anyone."

"For the first 6 months of this pill, I was super excited to be rid of my period; I've had heavy flows since my second son and thought I'd found the cure for the 2.5-3 weeks of menstrual chaos that was the up and down of my hormones and then the 6-8 days of bleeding (3 of those days being extremely heavy)... I was wrong. I'm over a year into use and 22 lbs heavier than my normal, no fuss weight, nauseous randomly through my days, have breast tenderness, feel like I'm having strange heart palpitations (I do not smoke, nor consume tobacco products), exhausted to the point that I thought I'd developed an autoimmune disease, my immune system is on high alert and I'm breaking out in rashes like crazy. I'm on a high dose of Wellbutrin that's always allowed me to maintain a healthy weight and stay away from too many problem foods; doesn't matter while on this birth control. I don't like this and I'm done. My husband smells different; I'm not interested in sex 80% of the time. Like, what is the point?"

"I've been on this birth control for six months. Pros: sex drive is out of control, light period, period every three months which is wonderful, short period (I'm taking 3-4 days, light bleed), no cramps, no bloating. Cons: took my pills before bed, and the night sweats are a bummer, breakthrough bleeding here and there until month four (took a while to adjust)."

"I have had horrible acne since taking this birth control. All over my body, acne. I didn't realize it could be the birth control until I read a bunch of other reviews on it. My boobs hurt all the time!! No sex drive whatsoever! I don't even want my husband to touch me because my boobs hurt so bad. Needless to say, I sympathize with some of the other reviewers on this birth control. I will be talking to my doctor to switch to something else. The only good part about it is not getting my period for 3 months."

"About 4 weeks after starting this pill, I started spotting. It was a brown color and was not enough for a pad, tampon, or even panty liner. I could only notice it when I wiped. After 7 days, I decided to stop taking the pill and let my period start. This did the trick, and the spotting stopped. The period was not painful at all, and I did not feel it at all, which is wonderful. Aside from the spotting, I have no complaints from this pill. I have been on it 7 weeks now."

"This is my second time on the Camrese Lo. My first experience was pretty crappy. I started spotting the last week of the first pack and didn't stop spotting until the week before my period week. I had an easy light period, which was nice. I had my doctor give me a script for something else just taking a normal 28-day cycle. My period was terrible, though, so I chose to try the Camrese Lo again. So far, I'm in the third pack and no spotting. I think my body needed to readjust or something from the mini pill I was on before. Either way, I'm very happy with my results the second time around."

"After having a baby, I was looking for a birth control pill and excited about the fact that I would only get my period every 3 months. After 5 days, however, I had gained weight, felt bloated, had headaches all the time, very low libido, insomnia, and crazy mood swings. Threw the pills in the trash because I couldn’t stand it anymore. I’m sure this brand works for some, but definitely not for me."

"Been on this for almost 2 months. I took it while I started my period, stopped bleeding for two days and spotted for another 2 weeks, and been fine since then. But I did experience nausea, but importantly, depression. I'm stopping because I'm so down and out, and I haven't finished the 3-month pack. Overall, I really like this birth control, but I can't deal with this depression."

"I switched to Camrese because my last birth control was giving me consistent, debilitating migraines during the week of my period or if I forgot a pill. It was too unbearable to experience that every month. I'm now on my second pack of Camrese/month 4, and so far it has been great. I enjoy only having to deal with getting my period every 3 months, and I haven't had a migraine yet. Spotting happened for a short while in the beginning, but it went away. No weight gain. I have been feeling more depressed just recently, but it's hard to know if it's the BC or situational. I'll be following up with my doctor."

"I was on this pill for about a year and a half, and at first, I would have light spotting for normally a month or so, which was quite annoying. However, it was light enough to tolerate. After being on this pill for about 3 cycles, I discovered the trick to getting rid of the spotting is to take it within the hour every day. My periods were 3 days long on the dot when I was on my inactive pills, and they were not too heavy. Considering I never missed a pill in the whole time I was on this and did not get pregnant with a regular sex life and not using another form of contraception, it does seem to be very effective. With my last cycle taking it always within an hour, I had almost no spotting at all."

"It's been 7 months since I've been on Camrese. At first, I had lots of breakthrough bleeding for almost 5 months, which I knew was going to happen, but I didn't know it would last that long! I was starting to get concerned, but now that it's gone away, I am so relieved. It has also made my face drier, which is a plus for me since I used to have oily skin and break out a lot. I've had no other side effects that I know of, so it's been really great! It's the first birth control I've tried, and I would recommend it!"

"This is the first birth control where I haven't had spotting or had an allergic reaction to! I just finished my third pack last night, and the week I was supposed to have my period was the best it's been in a long time. I did cramp a little the first two days, but nothing ibuprofen can't fix. My period was so light I could get away with just wearing a liner, and it only lasted about 2-3 days. This birth control hasn't helped with my acne at all, but I don't think it's necessarily worse, which is a good thing. I'll be going on Accutane soon for that anyways. Another thing to note is I ALWAYS take it at exactly the same time every day, with maybe a minute or so to spare, which I'm sure is the reason I've had such luck with it!"

"I was excited to try this pill because it would cut down my period to only 4 times a year. However, the spotting became a huge issue. I began spotting during the first pack, around the time I would typically get my period. I knew this was a side effect, but it lasted 2 weeks and became a nuisance. I soldiered through the pack, and it eventually stopped, and I got a very light period 2 months later as scheduled. The next pack was worse. Again, I started spotting after the first month. It continued for 2.5 weeks and turned into the heaviest period I've ever had. I had to go to my doctor and be put on another pill to stop the bleeding, and then switched pills. This may work for some, but it unfortunately didn't for me."

"I've been taking this for 6 months (just got my 3rd package) in order to control the bleeding from my Nexplanon implant (a whole different, hormonal and acne-driven story). I can't tell if the birth control cleared my skin, or simply leaving teenagehood and entering adulthood did. Either way, it's done its job as far as controlling the bleeding caused by the implant. Libido seems lower (except on the period pill lol), but I can't say for sure if it's the medication or not. No weight gain, no change in breast size, less acne (not attributing it to the medication though), and no mood issues. It does its job. 7/10 because by the time the 3rd month comes around I get some spotting before I even start the period pills, although I don't really care that much."
