For Birth Control "I've tried so many different pills, Implanon, Depo-Provera, it seemed like everything for almost 10 years now. And the best one for my body has been NuvaRing. All birth control makes me nauseous, but the NuvaRing is not nearly as bad as the others. Other than that, no mood swings, easy and effective, some slip-outs during intercourse, I don't take it out until it's time for a new one, so no periods, and it even made my breasts go up a size. So I definitely recommend this to everyone who hasn't found a birth control they love yet to give it a try!"

For Birth Control "I have been on NuvaRing for 6 years now. I got on it when I was 18 and now I am 24. No major side effects, I think my small weight gain was due to college more than NuvaRing. The only problems I have had were when I forgot to put the new ring in after 7 days. The first time I did this, I was 3 days overdue on putting it in. I consulted my doctor's nurse, and she said it would be okay to leave it out that month and restart as normal the next month. I was fine until I put it back in the next month. I got migraines and extreme nausea. It was terrible."

For Birth Control "Absolutely love it. Only birth control method that I have used that I have had literally zero side effects from. Every other I have tried (Mircette, Beyaz, Ortho Tri-Cyclen, and one other I can't recall) has all caused weight gain, anxiety/agitation, nausea, extremely decreased sex drive, and various other symptoms. All I do is put in the ring and forget about it, no issues."

For Birth Control "I had a copper IUD for 4 and a half months. I have had 14-day long periods, random rage that I've never had before, and horrible cramps that stopped after month 3. Also, exhaustion and low iron from losing so much blood, very depressed and no motivation at all. Now I've switched to NuvaRing and I am on day two. I've had migraines, congestion in my lungs and sinus at random times, but woke up on day two and felt great, I could run again and no cramps. I did get nauseous a few times, wanted to throw up, and constipation, but I'm hoping once I hit 3 months I'll get used to the hormones because Paragard has none and NuvaRing does."

For Birth Control "So I put the ring in on the first day of my period. Two days later, my period stopped, and I am feeling nauseous, very tired, loss of appetite, and some discharge. I knew it was just my hormones changing, so I knew it was going to pass. Within the three weeks, I started to notice how much I was sleeping, mood changes, weight gain, and feeling completely horrible about myself. On the 21st day, I took the ring out, and a day later, I have an unbearable itch/burn. I went to the doctors, and they believe it was from my hormones changing. The ring is very effective, I've had intercourse plenty of times with no complications like pregnancy or UTI, etc. I will not be putting the ring back in because the hormones and side effects are too much for me to handle."

For Birth Control "The first day I put the ring in, I had extremely bad cramps. I thought it was normal due to the fact that it was new. These cramps were followed by such severe abdominal pain I was not able to walk or drive for a period of time. Shortly after, I began having pain in my leg that would not go away. I have been on the ring a month now, and my leg pain is still there. I have serious feelings of depression, no appetite, nausea after eating, and no energy! I can barely make it 6 hours into the day before I need to lie down. After reading about the life-threatening blood clots the leg pain may lead to, I decided to take it out. Although it works, it is not worth the pain."

For Birth Control "After my second baby, I was having problems with pain during sex (9 months to a year postpartum). My doctor prescribed the NuvaRing to treat that issue as well as provide some birth control. The first two weeks I had this in were a dream! No side effects, nothing negative. After that, I was so nauseous I was constantly taking Zofran and Reglan and could barely function. After 6 weeks, I had lost 10 pounds and decided to take it out. I wish it wouldn't have been so bad, or I would have stuck it out."

For Birth Control "I've been using the ring for more than 3 yrs. It's expensive but worth it to me because I no longer experience nausea, breakthrough bleeding, or deal with having to take a pill every day. One personal drawback, though, mine occasionally wants to slip out, and having to reshape it and push it back in gets to be a little annoying after a while."

For Birth Control "I am not sure how long I have been on NuvaRing, but it can't be more than 3-4 months. All I know is that since I've been on it, I've had massive headaches for weeks at a time and nausea constantly, and I wanted to attribute that to my gluten sensitivity and maybe eating something wrong. But apparently, some people have been experiencing the same symptoms. Other symptoms I've had: constipation, 15 lbs weight loss, dryness, crazy hormones, and no desire to eat or have sex. I still have sex regularly, but I don't think about it constantly like I used to."

For Birth Control "Pro: No headaches or nausea. Usually cannot feel it during sex, but if I (or he) does, it is easy to remove. Easy to remember to insert since it only needs to be inserted once a month. My period is like clockwork now. No mood swings. Con: Cost. Seems to make me retain more water than before."

For Birth Control "I have been on NuvaRing for 5 months now. I have become very moody, tired, upset, angry, and the thought of sex disgusts me. Now I hate the thought of sex most of the time, which is very unusual for a 19-year-old girl. We argue and fuss all the time. Every day after school, I am just tired and want to come home and sleep. I randomly get nausea and cannot eat. I did not notice that the ring may be affecting me until I decided to look at other users' reviews. On the other hand, it is so easy to use, and my periods are very light, but despite all of this, I am going off of it."

For Birth Control "I will be starting my third month on NuvaRing tomorrow. I'm not in love with this birth control and might discontinue. The first month was great, no symptoms at all. On the third week, I took the ring out as directed and started my period the next day. This second month hasn't been so great. I pretty much began having pregnancy symptoms. I have nausea, I vomited once, and tender breasts. I just feel slightly sick and have been for the last 2 1/2 weeks. This week I am off the ring, and I was supposed to put a ring in tomorrow but had to go to the doctor to get a pregnancy test because I have completely missed my period. I'm not, thank goodness, but these side effects have been getting worse. I have been getting headaches, and I am a moody brat lately. Not good."

For Birth Control "I've been on NuvaRing for two weeks, and I've been having a heavy period since I put it in. I've also been tired, cranky, nauseated, and I never want sex. I love sex! So, I don't like this birth control. I'd rather go back to the high school method and use condoms!"

For Birth Control "I've been on NuvaRing for 3 weeks. And the only side effect that I noticed was nausea. Then I came to this site, read a few reviews, and realized I've had more side effects than I thought. I had a terrible headache and ongoing back pain, which I thought was from my epidural, but according to other reviews, was from the NuvaRing. Also, I have been having diarrhea on and off the whole time. Still didn't think anything of it until I came to this site. The headaches are bad when I do get them, and the back pain is a killer, but nothing a little Motrin can't handle. I can't feel it during sex, and neither can he. It hasn't slipped out yet. So far, so good."

For Birth Control "I started taking NuvaRing a couple of weeks ago. I came to this site because I am afraid that my side effects could be early pregnancy due to failure of the birth control. Based on prior responses, it sounds like these are probably just bad side effects: bloating, lower back pain, constipation, nausea, headaches, loss of appetite, racing heart, anxiety."

"I started using NuvaRing postpartum to try and regulate my hormones while I was dealing with postpartum depression and PMDD. It actually worked pretty well. I can't say that things have been completely turned around, but the worst of the hormonal swings is over, and I actually enjoy using the NuvaRing. This is the first time I've been on birth control long-term, and I'm very satisfied with it. In the first month, I did have some moodiness and a lot of nausea. No bad side effects since then other than bloating and slightly more than normal discharge. It hasn't dried me up at all. My libido has gone down a bit, but I'm aware of it, and it doesn't take much effort to feel aroused, which was a relief after being on antidepressants that ruined everything. I use NuvaRing continuously every other month to skip my periods. So I'm only having six periods a year. It's expensive, but NuvaRing worked for me, and I'd recommend it to others."

For Birth Control "I do love the fact that I do not have to take a pill every day with NuvaRing, but my side effects are horrible. A major rash started on my face about a month ago, and now it's all over my body. I only linked it to NuvaRing now. Plus, I have nausea and painful cramps."

For Birth Control "I’ve been on and off (mostly on) NuvaRing since I was 22. I’m now 40. The only times I didn’t take it were when I got pregnant (intentionally), while breastfeeding, and for a few months when insurance didn’t cover it. I’ve had suspected endometriosis with heavy bleeding, severe cramps, and nausea. NR has been so helpful. On my doctor’s advice, I started using it continuously with only an occasional withdrawal period every few months. I did this for years without issue. It’s hard to say whether this made an impact on my skin since I’ve taken it for so long, but my skin is usually very clear. I also can’t really say if this has contributed to weight gain due to a disordered eating history. No major shifts in mood. It’s been super easy to use during sex. I think I’ve had 1 ring break and 1 ring fall out once in the 18 years since I’ve started taking it. The only downside? I’m having to discontinue it because I’ve recently developed high blood pressure."

For Birth Control "I've been using NuvaRing for about 2 months now. For the most part, I'm pleased with it, and it's very effective. The only problems that I have are the side effects it may cause. Nausea, headaches, and occasional cramps were present. Above all, I'm pleased with this method. I was very skeptical about using birth control, but then I talked it over with my doctor, and we both agreed that this would be right for me."

For Birth Control "My experience with NuvaRing has been amazing. I have been on it for a year, and the only side effect for me has been breast tenderness before periods. I only experienced nausea during the first 3 months, and it was gone after. If I have to recommend a good NuvaRing, it would be the one by NuvaRing. Sadly, now my insurance changed, and I’m switching to Enilloring. I'm so scared because NuvaRing is the one my body is used to, and I feel safe with it. There’s no review on my new NuvaRing, so saying that I’m willing to pay 500 every 3 months, even though I have no money, just to stay on NuvaRing isn’t enough. Forever love my NuvaRing, hoping my body gets used to the Enilloring in the same way."

For Birth Control "I've only been on NuvaRing for a week. But I'm not nearly so dizzy as I was on the pill. Haven't tested it yet to see how my hubby feels about it. I'm assuming, though, that the thorough disgust and nausea at the sight, smell, and taste of hamburger last night is because the ring has the same hormones as being pregnant. Hoping that we're not pregnant right now. Have slight acne breakout. That is all for now. We'll see how I feel after more than a week."

For Birth Control "I'm currently on my third cycle of NuvaRing. Initially, I started the ring to get rid of my heavy and painful periods. The first couple of months were incredible, zero periods in August and through most of September, zero side effects. On September 25th, I started spotting; no big deal, I expected spotting, but I wasn't prepared for constant spotting/bleeding until today's date. The cramps are so intense, it makes me nauseous. I'm going through so many panty liners and tampons, it's ridiculous. Despite all this, I'm sticking with it because professionals say the side effects will only last for a few cycles, and I love the convenience... but buyers beware, you might be in for a ride!"

For Birth Control "I love that NuvaRing is just as effective as the pill without having to remember it daily. I just put it in and forget about it for three weeks. I have a little more discharge than usual, but it doesn't really bother me, and my doc said it's normal. My only complaint is that the second day after putting it in, I feel nauseated, and when I take it out, I get really moody by the third day. Hopefully, my body will adjust and stop doing this."

For Birth Control "When I began the NuvaRing in 2007 or early 2008, I absolutely loved it because I didn't have to take a pill every day, and taking the birth control pill made me nauseous, and I gained a lot of weight. With NuvaRing, I gained no weight at all the first time around. I never really noticed, but I had no sex drive. My boyfriend and I have been together since 2007, and we have had a lot of issues due to our sex life, but once getting off birth control and then beginning again, I've realized it is not me or him, it's the birth control. The NuvaRing was convenient, and you can hardly feel it, and neither can your partner most of the time. It can fall out during sex, and my cramps were awful. I also cried randomly about 2 weeks prior to my period."

For Birth Control "I wrote a few days ago regarding my very first experience with the ring, which that was my first day with it. I experienced nausea and fatigue, and as the days progressed, things became somewhat worse. I ended up feeling dizzy and lightheaded, moody, and not motivated to have sex. I removed it earlier today and am already feeling much better without it. I wished so bad that it would not affect me so much badly. But unfortunately, it did."
