"I have tried Imvexxy twice, the first time with the lower dosage, and I felt improvement with no side effects. And then, after the first two weeks, I developed a very bad yeast infection. When I went to the doctor, she thought this might be a coincidence, and she put me on the higher dosage. I felt breast tenderness and insomnia. And again, after two weeks once a day, the yeast infection is starting up. Need to call the doctor in the middle of the COVID-19 self-isolation! Worried."

"After one-time use, the next day I noticed an itchy rash mostly under my armpits and some on my torso. I'm afraid to use it again. Also, in the morning, I had bad hot flashes. The last time was over a year ago."

"I’m 62, had a hysterectomy at age 40, did not do HRT, and am not sexually active. I needed Estrace 3 times a week on the opening of my vagina for dryness. In 2022, however, I had 6 UTIs and lower back pain. My urologist thinks I have cystitis and vaginal dryness and prescribed 10 mcg of Imvexxy twice a week. I’ve used Imvexxy for three weeks and have been experiencing night sweats and a pink discharge from the medication. I use a leftover applicator to insert the capsule, not my fingers. I insert it more than 2 inches, but the discharge still leaks out. The opening of my vagina still feels dry. I’ll have to see if the UTIs go away with continued use."

"Started Imvexxy fall of 2019. Seemed to be working fine. Summer of 2021, I started having heavy discharge on all days except the day after the nightly dosage. I also started having unusual hip pain and mobility issues. Experienced migraines as well. Have stopped taking Imvexxy spring 2022, and after the first week off, hip pain and mobility improving, and discharge is much less every day."

"My OB/GYN recommended Imvexxy, after another OTC, Revaree, did nothing to help with my vaginal atrophy. I was reluctant to take any HRT, and never would have brought it to my doctor's attention if she did not ask me how my sexual health was. I had been unable to have intercourse for over 4-5 years."

"Pink discharge scared me, should not have a dye, can be confused with blood. Pinkness on a tissue can be a lot of things that are serious, such as pink or light amounts of blood on a tissue from bladder cancer. It's very hard to figure out if it is blood and where it might have come from if you see a pink color. Also, I wonder how much drug actually slips out when the pink coating dissolves in the discharge. Prescribed by my ob/gyn and urologist for UTI/atrophy/dryness seems to help somewhat. Been using for 6 weeks. Color of it needs to change. Needs an applicator."

"I’ve been using Imvexxy for about 1 month. I’ve noticed hot flashes and night sweats have increased. I’m having leg heaviness and tiredness, as well as lower back pain. Insomnia has also gotten worse. I get a burning sensation and discharge after usage. I take 10 mcg every two days. I will reduce my usage to once a week and see if the symptoms resolve. I will keep you posted."

"I had such burning, pain, and constant urge to urinate! Was put on 3 antibiotics by urologist, never positive for UTI. Finally, went to my fab ob/gyn who said it is vaginal. First night I used it, I had total relief after 4 months of constant pain, etc.! I have only used two, one every two weeks! So far, no bad affects for me."

"Just started using a week ago on a lower dose of 4 mcg. The only side effect has been joint pain: knees, elbows, and hips. Cost was $75 for 18. $35 for a maintenance pack of 8. Find the prescription card online. I can deal with the side effect if sex isn’t painful. I'm 54 and not expecting my sex life to be over yet."

"Just read all these reviews after having used this product for about a year and a half. I was on a strong dose at first, and it made me very crampy, so my doctor reduced the dose to 10 mg, which still seems like a lot compared to the reviews that I’ve been reading. I took it half as often as she suggested. It worked. However, I had the worst smell coming from my armpits, and I’ve never been a smelly armpit person, my hair is thinning, which I realize is a side effect according to the reviews, and I had weird sensations in my breast. So I will be discontinuing the use of this product. Good luck, ladies."

"Imvexxy has been effective in treating atrophic vaginitis. However, after having been on it for some time, I have gained nearly 10 pounds, experienced hair thinning, a 'full' abdomen, and thigh cramping, as well as my hot flashes have returned. Interestingly, the trials that were conducted for this medication only covered women for 12 weeks, so could side effects increase with long-term use? My insurance doesn't cover this medication, and I will be stopping it once I complete this month."

"Prescribed to me for surgical menopause (hysterectomy in my 30s). Worked to help prevent UTI and vaginal dryness. Side effects: diarrhea, headaches, and body aches. Sucks… But big pharma keeps you coming back for side effects and other problems. Gotta keep you a customer, I guess. 4 mcg twice a week."

"I have been using Imvexxy 4 mg for about a year, and it has greatly improved my vaginal dryness and painful intercourse. It is prescribed twice a week, but I used it every 4 nights. I put it in after I'm in bed and wear a maxipad, which keeps the discharge from causing a mess. This medication has been a lifesaver for me!"

"I was taking Imvexxy for a year before retiring and going on Medicare, which did not cover it. I absolutely loved it and suffered none of the negative side effects listed in some of the reviews. It's convenient to use because no applicator is needed, and it started working right away. My insurance has made a change and has now approved it as a tier 3 drug, and it will cost me $41 a month. Well worth it for me, and I am now waiting for my new script to be filled. I really feel this medication deserves a higher rating than 5.1."

"The medication worked great, but I have cancer now. I took Imvexxy for 1.5 years for painful vulva during perimenopause. I have stage 4 cancer now without a family history. No genes have been found after extensive genetic tests. The only thing they can find is my cancer is 99% estrogen positive. I took this medication because I thought it would be safe given everything I had read and heard. I had no family history of breast cancer. I would advise anyone with dense breast tissue to avoid this. My mammogram came back clean, and after the fact, I know my cancer was already stage 4! I had to fight for my diagnosis. If your state doesn’t perform an ultrasound on dense breast as part of the mammogram procedure, insist on one! I moved to Florida and got one after NC did not give me one, even with a past adenoma. I was able to feel the tumor once it reached over 5 cm in width, but it was stage 4 by then."

"Have your doctor write a prior authorization to your insurance company. Imvexxy works slowly."

"I started taking 10 mcg Imvexxy one month ago. I used it daily for two weeks, then went to twice per week. I found it easy to use. All was fine for two weeks, except for the bad discharge, and then at week four, I started having extreme fatigue, nausea, diarrhea, loss of appetite, chills, and hot flashes, and then extremely painful pressure in my pelvic area. Since this is the only change I have made, I am convinced it’s Imvexxy."
