For Birth Control "I used to be on TriPrevifem and i could only last a month on that. the nausea was so bad and i was only like 3 weeks into my first pack. now i'm on my second pack of ocella and i've had virtually NO side effects which is amazing! no weight gain thank god. The only thing is my cramps during my period were down right deadly but i hear that gets better over time. I am sooo happy, i forget i'm even on birth control and that's an awesome thing."

For Birth Control "I take Ocella to help control my PCOS and as a birth control. It's done a good job of regulating my period and as a birth control. However, I've experienced many mood swings and depressive-like symptoms as well as more nausea and tenderness in my breasts. It does what it needs to do which is why I'm reluctant to switch since it is one of the best birth controls to regulate my PCOS symptoms."

For Birth Control "I switched to Ocella after taking Yaz for 3months. I have PCOS as well. Ocella worked wonderfully in clearing my skin, and it gave me a 7-day period (instead of the constant flow). That was a relief. But, I had bad side effects that caused me to ask for a change in medication after 3 or 4 months using it. I didn't realize they were connected to birth control at first, but now it's obvious with timing. I get debilitating migraine headaches during the first few days of the placebo week (from hormone drop), and the week before my period I have severe constipation, which affects my body image (I feel unattractive). It also has me very depressed a week before, too. And this last month, I started spotting 2 weeks in."

For Birth Control "I've been using Ocella for a few months. I don't use condoms and I've had zero scares so far. I have hormonal acne and it's getting better slowly. My periods are amazing now. I have no cramps whatsoever. My moods are great. Not on birth control I am a crazy monster. My cramps are unbearable for days. I have not had much weight gain and my cravings are less than normal. So far I like this."

For Birth Control "I tried Ortho Tri-Cyclen 2 years ago. I switched to Ocella 3 weeks later because Ortho Tri-Cyclen made me nauseous and made my gums itchy. I have experienced weight gain (8 lbs) caused by eating all my cravings. I've taken it from 2011 to now and haven't had any bad experiences."

For Birth Control "Ocella was the first contraceptive birth control I tried, and I thought I was going crazy because of its side effects. As a generally happy and healthy woman, I was so confused and lost as to why I'd suddenly turned into someone that couldn't stand to get out of bed, I cried ALL THE TIME. It could be the tiniest of things that would elicit tears, but it was constant. I shut almost everyone but my boyfriend at the time out, and was so depressed I didn't even know what to do. This lasted 6 months before my mom forced me to stop it, of which I am very thankful for. Ocella made me a different person, sure, it did it's job in keeping me from getting pregnant, but the girl it made me into is not worth that protection. "

For Birth Control "I had a great experience on Ocella. My insurances does full coverage of it for me so it's free every month, huge plus! I was also prone ever since my first period, which was pretty late, I would skip months at a time and then have terrible cramps, periods, and awful moods. Prescription midol couldn't even provide me with relief. I got on a BC that caused me to gain weight even though I was dieting and exercising and stopped it. I then a few months later got on Ocella. I have my period every month and lasts about 4 days. It's pretty heavy with minimal cramps. I haven't gained weight but I can seem to lose any either but that's not really a problem for me at this time. No out of the ordinary mood swings, sickness, or tiredness."

For Acne "I went on Ocella about a year ago (freshman year of college, 18) to help with my hormonal acne that I had been struggling with since I was 15. I immediately noticed that I felt a lot more depressed/moody but I was also adjusting to college. Three months in, my acne was the worst it had ever been, but I decided to stick it out. Suddenly around 4-5 months, it started to clear up and my skin has been clear since! I also noticed some weight gain and water retention but that went away over time. I have also developed some issues with anxiety that I never experienced before the pill, but cannot really say whether Ocella directly caused it or not."

For Menstrual Disorders "I must say Ocella has been nothing short of a miracle for me. In just 2 months my facial hair has deminished. I went from shaving, waxing, plucking EVERYDAY to not seeing any hairs on my face for 5 days now. My very heavy painful periods are already normal and I have lost 11 lbs. I have had no side effects. I hope this continues for the long term."

"68 and now having problems, I had a hysterectomy 30 years ago. Have heavy hair on face, all kinds of symptoms such as hot flashes, breast seem to have gotten smaller. After reading these postings went to MD and got Rx for Ocella. Hope it makes me better as some have said and gets rid of my symptoms I should not have at all after this amount of time. I sure would be happy to gain 2 or more in size!!!"

For Birth Control "It wasn't a bad birth control other than the mood swing and anxiety. 6 months into it I started to have a really hard time breathing and chest pain and swelling of arms and legs. I checked out side effects and these are some of the more severe ones. I took myself off of it a week ago, and I feel so much better, I'm less anxious and moody and the pain and swelling."

For Birth Control "I started on Yasmin, then switched to Ocella when it was released. I had no issues with it. It helped my cramps, shortened my period by 2 day, and helped clear out my skin. I gained no weight (but was eating very healthy and stayed active). I stopped taking it for 2 months to have a surgery, got pregnant, and am back on it now. I have never had any moodiness, and it has helped with my time of the month migraines I would get. I would recommend this to anyone. FYI, I started on this when I was 24 and am now 27."

For Acne "I started ocella my freshman year of college and had horrible under the skin acne all through high school. I'm now a junior in college and love it! My skin cleared up except for a few during my period. I also gained a couple pounds and my boobs grew a whole cup size. Highly recommend"

For Acne "Prescribed Ocella for POCS (polycystic Ovarian Syndrome) which can cause severe cystic acne that I had. Have been on it for 10 years. It was a miracle, acne is gone. To prevent the mood swings and acne flare ups during the inert week each month, I had my OBGYN write prescription for 3 months straight. Now only have period & mood swings 4 times/yr instead of 12. Other pills caused anxiety attacks, I have felt most normal on this pill. The downside is I have no libido, but I am 40 so I guess I should expect some decrease at my age anyway."

For Birth Control "If you're considering using this I wouldn't recommend it. On the first week of using this I would find myself hysterically crying on the bathroom floor at night. I got really depressed while on it on the first week. On the second week literally on the 10th day of using this I got hives. I didn't stop using it hoping it would just go away. Wrong. It got so bad I was hospitalized for it"

For Birth Control "I've been on Ocella for over a year and I don't mind it. It does its job. Negatives: It kills your sex drive, horrible cramps, acne around your period time; but that's with anyone. Positives: Emotions have been under control and periods only last about 4 days. Overall, I would recommend this birth control. I don't have spotting or emotional breakdowns or any of that."

For Birth Control "I'm 23 years old, and started birth control on Ortho Tri Cyclen. I stopped for about a year or so then when I went back to the GYN, she put me on Ocella. I haven't ever had problems with my period, but it did lighten it up for me quite a bit. I've been on it for about 2 years - and it has just recently brought me from a 5 day period to a 3 day period. I was a bit surprised, but I don't mind at all! I have never detected any differences on and off birth control - except it's easier to pin point when things will happen throughout the month. I usually get a very mild acne break out right before, as well as some cramps which don't last very long. I have occasional emotional breakdowns, but they are so rare that I don't really contribute it to Ocella"

For Birth Control "I LOVE OCELLA! I was on a generic form of Seasonale and it was HORRIBLE had the worst depression/mood swings ever and breakthrough bleeding EVERYDAY. So I switched to Ocella and love it. Acne hasn't really cleared up, and do have some weight gain but my eating habits aren't the best either so I wont blame it on that. I don't like that the price went up but I'm not going to switch because I feel so normal now and never want to experience anything like my first birth control. I definitely recommend Ocella!"

For Acne "I started taking this for acne, which Ocella cleared up REALLY well (except for the period week, during which I'll get minor acne breakouts), but I must add that now I've been experiencing a huge decrease in my sex drive. I'm starting to wonder if I should get off of it just to feel like a normal sexual adult. This is just getting weird."

For Menstrual Disorders "I'm a lesbian, so I don't take this to prevent pregnancy, but because my periods were lasting two weeks before. Pros: my periods are regular and lighter, and my skin is completely clear. Cons: I originally gained around 15 pounds (which I have since lost), and I have no sex drive whatsoever. My breast size also increased from a D to a G, which I guess could be seen as a positive or negative. I personally find it frustrating. I am also very emotional, but I think that's just part of my personality and unrelated to the birth control."

For Birth Control "I hate this pill its the second birth control I have been on and I cant wait to switch. I have been on Ocella for 6 months and all 6 months have been terrible I've been gaining weight which makes me extremely depressed and I've had really bad mood swings. I am usually a calm, easy going person but ever since I have been on this pill every little thing irritates me or makes me mad. My doctor also assured me this pill would make my period shorter and lighter.....no....not at all. However I have not gotten pregnant so it works in that regard."

For Acne "I majorly broke out eventually to getting pimples every day not hormonal acne but lots of zits and redness. I’ve tried a birth control before ,but now that I’m on ocella let me just say it’s a miracle for me , no side effects what so ever . Although each first day of the new pack I wake up having an upset stomach and anxiety it eventually goes away that same day. I used the pill for my awful - I mean excruciating cramps and acne which have helped honestly 100%. I have no cramping anymore. I’m on my fifth month now and it has cured my acne. I’m not entirely clear but I’ve reduced my pimples to 2 pimples a month and those pimples always show up the week before my period so my periods to blame for this. It was the best pill for me. But like I said this cured and helped my acne soooooo much have gotten so many compliments on how smooth my skin is . A miracle pill is all I’m saying (:"

For Birth Control "I had the Mirena for 3 years and hated it! I developed cystic acne and my periods were at least 2 weeks long each month. I got it removed and immediately started Ocella. It's been great. My periods are not longer than 5 days each month and my skin looks amazing! I rarely get break outs; but if I do, they go away MUCH quicker than normal. The only negatives are that I'm moody, bloated, and have heavy cravings during my cycle. The normal PMS effects I guess."

For Birth Control "I'm going through the same thing right now. I used to pay 10 and now they want $40 for Ocella. I'm a college student, I can't afford that every month. So I'm looking into Apri now, as my doctor recommended. Overall, I was fine with Ocella and Yasmin. It made my boobs bigger, clears my face, and I always know when I'll get my period. "

For Acne "I noticed after 9 months my stomach became very sensitive-but I could never find a trigger food or figure out why I would eat one thing and be fine, and then eat it another time and have to RUN to the bathroom. After 2 1/2 years it finally crossed my mind to stop Ocella and see how I felt, and it was a total turnaround. My stomach is no longer sensitive and I haven't had an episode since I stopped. I am leaving this review because I searched high and low to see if anyone had an experience like mine- and there weren't any. Though Ocella cleared my skin, having my sensitive stomach control my life was not worth it to me."
