"I have endometriosis, only hormonal acne, and Loryna is the best! I used to have extremely painful periods, but now I don't have a period at all and no acne whatsoever. I didn't notice weight gain at all or really any change in my mood. Obviously, the first 1-3 months were a bit emotional and moody, but after that, it's been great! I've been on it for about 7-8 months now, take the pill every night at bedtime, and I skip the white pills so I don't have a period. But there is one downside, I have zero sex drive. I'm 20, in a great healthy relationship, and normally have a pretty high sex drive with my partner. Now I'm bone dry all the time, and it is very rare when I get in the mood. I want to have sex, however, my body and brain just do not react or get in the mood the way they used to. One more thing to mention from my experience, my body does have to have a period every 3-4 months. I spot for a week and must stop to have a natural period. This is okay with me, but others might not like that."

"This birth control is heaven-sent. Before Loryna, I was on Lo-Loestrin, which cleared my acne, but I had gained 50+ pounds and was horribly depressed. I began using Loryna because I knew it could clear my skin up and treat my PMDD. I was terrified because of the side effects last time, but I am so happy I gave it a chance! My skin is clear, I have no PMDD symptoms, my period is manageable, I'm not ravenously hungry, and my sex drive is normal (if not higher than usual)."

"Got on Loryna after giving Tri-Sprintec a go. I mainly got on birth control for my acne, and neither really helped in that department. I’ve been on Loryna for 3 months now and still get cystic acne, I think even more so than before, all over my chin and cheeks (before starting BC, my acne was only limited to my chin). In my first couple of weeks on Loryna, I also experienced heartburn, nausea, moodiness, extreme fatigue, and bigger boobs (which is the only good side effect, lol). Since then, I still experience some spotting, but other than that, no side effects. Your body will likely adjust after time. But my acne never got better. As far as weight gain - don’t trust the reviews. If you take care of your body, stay active, and eat right, you will not gain weight. I did not experience weight gain, but I’m an extremely active person and eat well. Although it was a little hard to be as active during the first 2 weeks due to the fatigue, which eventually went away."

"This is by far the worst form of birth control. Ever since I started taking this Sunday (it is now Wednesday), I have had migraine headaches, am extremely nauseous, and vomit after everything I eat, after forcing myself to eat for energy; even though I am not hungry. The upside is I have lost 3 lbs in 4 days! Someone told me it is just my body getting used to it?!? I’m not sure if I believe that, as I have never had any side effects like this with other pills."

"Some spotting in the first 4 months, which was super annoying, but after that has been amazing. I have PCOS and PMS often, and this has helped a lot with that in addition to being effective at preventing pregnancy. Minimal to no side effects."

"I started taking Loryna a year and a half ago. It significantly helped my moods, and my periods were lighter and a lot less painful. I even managed to lose 15 lbs without doing anything. After the first three months, I noticed that my hair was falling out and it was dry and lifeless. It was so bad I had to cut it down from my waist up to my chin. After a year of dealing with that, I looked online for causes and noticed birth control could cause hair loss. So I looked to see if people had similar problems on Loryna, and they sure did. So I've just got it switched. Hoping for the best now."

"Started this birth control 2 weeks ago, I’m on week three and I can barely eat. When I try to eat I can only get a couple of bites in, then I’m full. One day I spent 5 minutes straight gagging in the bathroom. This did not clear up my skin, I actually broke out more. I stopped taking it yesterday and now I can eat again. I’m already pretty thin, so I do not need to lose any more weight. I do not recommend this birth control."

"As I read through the comments, I want to remind everyone that we all have different bodies. Personally, I have a high level of hormones and tend to break out often. I have tried multiple brands and have had pretty bad symptoms. I tried this brand, and like all BC, the first few weeks I had symptoms, especially nausea, as my body was getting adjusted. I’ve been taking this brand for about 2 years and now have beautiful skin and short, less painful periods. If you have similar issues as I did, I would highly recommend giving this brand a try. Hope this was helpful for other women who suffered from acne and elevated hormone levels."

"I got switched to Loryna from Yaz because my insurance wanted to pay for the generic version instead. Everything Yaz did successfully, Loryna does not. I can't believe this drug is on the market, and they say it is the same - it seems to do nothing. I have spotting every month for 2 weeks at a time. Where Yaz helped stabilize my moods, one of the notable reasons I knew Yaz worked was because it resulted in breast growth/tenderness, and Loryna creates no change. So I feel like Loryna is a placebo. I am thankful I'm not relying on Loryna for birth control as I shudder to think how ineffectual that would be."

"The Loryna birth control pill has worked pretty great for me. No weight gain, a little less acne than normal. I still have a period, but it is so much more manageable and light."

"Makes me feel very, very moody. Lots of crying and feeling unhappy. I’ve been on it over a year, and it’s time to change because this one isn’t making me feel good at all."

"Loryna works wonders for my acne, shortened my periods to 3 days, and doesn’t affect my sex drive. However, I did gain weight (about 5 pounds) and seem to hold onto a lot of water weight."

"Take the pill with food, do not take it on an empty stomach. The side effects are strong, dizzy, moody, and others. I lost weight with this pill, compared to others."

"I’m 19, sexually active in college, etc. This pill does its job preventing pregnancy for sure, but as soon as my CVS switched me from Gianvi to Loryna, I have been very disappointed. It works, but my sex drive has never been lower. It’s almost as if nothing excites me, and because of this, I have been extremely depressed since my switch this past summer. The first pack I took really affected my body, and I was bloated worse than ever, but thankfully that did go away eventually. My periods haven’t really changed. Don’t know if I’d recommend because it affects people differently. The main reason I want to switch is because of my significantly decreased sex drive and depression."
