"Loryna cleared up my acne and made me gain 5 pounds. However, the worst side effect is at the start of the first few pills of the new pack, I end up waking up in the middle of the night and projectile vomiting. The vomiting isn’t worth it. I wouldn’t recommend anyone else trying this medicine."

"This is the second birth control pill I tried after the first gave me very bad mood swings immediately. I’ve been on this for about a year and a half now, and my periods are short and I know exactly when I am going to get it every month with no spotting in between. It has been like this since I started it. It also really helped with acne. I never got acne very bad, but I would always have a few spots. Now I very rarely break out, and when I do, it’s usually not that bad, and I barely take care of my skin. The only bad thing I’ve noticed is how it’s affected my sex drive. I had no problem with it before I started this a few months after starting my current long-term relationship, and everything was great at first, but about 6 months after being on it, I had absolutely no sex drive anymore. A year after that, it is starting to come back, but I’ve had to take measures to help myself. Overall, I like this birth control, and it hasn’t caused any problems that negatively affect my life."

"I was on Yaz for about a year and decided to try the generic because of the cost of Yaz (about $60 a month, but had to pay $180 upfront for 90-day prescriptions). They gave me Loryna, and I've only been on it for 3 weeks, and I'm feeling miserable! I have extreme fatigue, irritability, moodiness, and a little breast pain. I know they say to give the pill 2-3 months to work, but I don't know if I can handle another 2 more months of these emotions. I've tried A LOT of generic bc pills in the last 5 years since they discontinued the one I was on, and I've had problems on all of them. Sometimes those generic 'inactive' or 'filler' ingredients really do have an impact, be careful and wary of your side effects!! I'm going back on the brand Yaz."

"I have been on Loryna for over 4 months now, and my experience has been great. Previously, I was on a generic of Sprintec and had issues with nausea, vomiting, mood swings, and difficulty losing weight. Since I've switched to Loryna, all of those problems have disappeared, and I have no side effects! This HBC works great for me (21, 155 lb, active lifestyle), and I’d recommend it to anyone interested!"

"Pros: Very few: cheap and face was clear throughout using it. Cons: I noticed some changes in my body and mental health and wrote them down to talk to my doctor about at an upcoming appointment. I had been on Yaz for 14 years with none of these issues, but had to switch due to my insurance covering Yaz anymore and California not accepting the Bayer Savings Card. I didn't think my issues were from Loryna until I read these reviews. I had fuller breasts, was constantly bloated, gained weight with the weight specifically in my abdomen (despite no diet or exercise change), decreased aerobic fitness, decreased sex drive, and felt more 'down' and self-critical. I stopped taking it and within four days saw improvements: breast size decreased, feeling less bloated, more positive, and my sex drive increased. I ran this morning, and it was my fastest time in months. Again, I had none of these symptoms during my 14 years on Yaz. I'm so glad I stopped taking Loryna!"

"I’ve been on BC before but had issues with depression. I tried Loryna and am 2 months in and can’t take it anymore! I have had headaches, probably gained weight, increased hunger, depression worse than I’ve ever experienced-crying over absolutely nothing off and on the first month, then it stopped for a few weeks and it’s back worse than ever with intense mood swings! I have had brain fog, fatigue, and the mood swings/irritability that happened in the 2nd month have affected my life and relationships! I feel unable to control my emotions and I’m sure I seem crazy to the guy I recently started seeing! I hope this pill hasn’t ruined my relationship, but I know it’s made me a crying, irritated, bloated lunatic! I’ve worked hard to be an easygoing, emotionally stable adult, but this pill makes me feel like I’m 2 sheets to the wind ugly crying and angry like I’m on a whisky bender. I don’t even drink anymore. I do not recommend!"

"I have been on Loryna for 2 weeks and love it. Before, I had painful hormonal cystic acne from Nexplanon and the Estarylla pill, so I went off birth control for 4 months to take a break, but I always had at least 5 cysts no matter how strict I was with my skincare. Since starting Loryna, I noticed a HUGE difference. I only have 1 breakout right now and it's flat. It's a dream!! I feel confident in my skin again and tear up because it's been so long since I felt like this. I noticed my libido increased and my boobs have grown, which is great for my itty bitties. Also love that this pill didn't give me water retention or bloating. The only negative thing with Loryna so far is nausea every once in a while after taking it, but nothing bad. I think I found my favorite birth control and I'm so happy!!! I will update this once I am a few packs in though."

"Loryna has been the only BC that works for me. I have switched and had multiple issues with other medicines and always switched back to Loryna. These low reviews did not sit true with me. It’s been great for me!"

"My OB chose Loryna for contraception after I had my baby. I didn’t really know anything about it before I started taking it. My insurance filled a three-month supply. Then, when I picked up my next three-month supply, it was a different kind. Different brand, everything. Then, when I picked up for the third refill, they switched back to Loryna. Now that I switched to something else and back again, I’ve noticed that this pill makes me moody as heck. I thought it was just normal hormone fluctuations after having my baby 8 months ago, but it’s definitely this pill."

"I have taken two other kinds of birth control that gave me negative side effects, so I decided to switch to Loryna, which is the worst decision of my life! The first week, I had terrible nausea and couldn’t eat anything, and I have also been dealing with depression, bad mood swings, low energy, headaches, and irritability. It did make me lose weight, but there’s no way I’m staying on it due to all of the other side effects. If you’ve had issues with other kinds, this is ten times worse."

"I took this pill for 2 1/2 years. It was great the entire time I was on it, up until the last 3 months. Before these last 3 months, my acne breakouts were greatly reduced, my period would last 5-8 days with no pain, cramps, or a very heavy flow. I had no mood swings, headaches, or anything of that nature. I don’t remember if there was any initial weight gain, but I’ve been in the same 10-pound weight fluctuation over the duration of taking this birth control. There were a few times I didn’t have protected sex, and out of those few times, I never got pregnant. I would give it a 10 if it weren’t for these last 3 months, where my period has slowly turned into a longer duration (the only change). My last period was almost 3 weeks long (no pain, just a LONG, heavy flow). But I used to love this medication. I would recommend it with warning!"

"I tried Sprintec and Tri Sprintec before this and experienced more migraines, anxiety, and heart palpitations. I’ve been taking this for over a year and experience only good things like less bloating, clearer skin, and a stable mood. I do feel like I get dehydrated faster, so make sure to drink more fluids with this. I would definitely recommend this if you have bad side effects from other birth control."

"I literally could not rate this any lower. It's the first birth control pill I've taken that didn't improve my periods. I've gone back to having irregular, long periods, just like before the pill. I've also gained a significant amount of weight and had mood swings and a heavily decreased sex drive. It just didn't work for me at all."

"I started taking this pill to clear my acne. This has been such a terrible pill. All I want to do is sleep, I’m constantly tired and nauseous all the time, and I normally have a very strong stomach. Smells make me feel super sick, like the smell of popcorn made me gag, and I love popcorn. I can barely eat - today I had a piece of toast and some pretzels, and that’s it. Normally, I snack throughout the day. All I want to do is lay in my bed and drink ginger ale. I’m stopping this medication tonight. Even if it did clear my skin, feeling sick constantly isn’t worth it. Try other birth controls!"

"I really don't like this birth control, Loryna. I switched to it and was told I would not be getting my period anymore, and for the last 4 months, I have had a period. I am constantly bloated and irritable, and I wake up nauseous a few times a week. Loryna does not agree with me."

"10/10 for preventing pregnancy. Made me very sad and irritated all the time. Made me bloated and had bad bowel movements. Absolutely zero sex drive. I basically had to force myself to do it, and I’m in a long-term relationship, so it wasn’t very good. I’ve been off of it for a week, and WOW. Mood 100% improved. Sex drive is ALREADY back to normal!!! I’ll just stick to condoms now for preventing pregnancy because wow, this birth control was not it."

"Loryna was okay, I didn't notice a huge weight gain. My boobs doubled in size into a full 34D, however, the quick size change made them very tender and sore. However, after about three months, I noticed a side effect I had read about but thought maybe past users were being dramatic (they weren't). I started to become extremely angry and irritable, to the point of rage sometimes, and I didn't even understand why I was angry. Whenever small things would go wrong, I would scream and just absolutely flip out. I got so embarrassed I would leave the room when I felt rage come on. I would get so angry at my husband for doing little things like not asking me about my day or leaving a dish out. I would drive manically in my car away for hours (literally what???). Honestly, this medication made me feel like I was going crazy. I also had a lot of head fuzziness and out-of-body feelings/dissociation that stopped as soon as I stopped taking it. The days would really run into each other."

"I was switched from Ocella to Loryna when my doctor prescribed me Yaz. Both are generic forms of the drug. Three weeks into my pack, I became severely depressed and tired. I slept for almost three days straight and could barely get out of bed. My skin started to break out all over, including my neck, back, cheeks, jawline, and forehead - and I hardly ever break out."

"I had no initial issues with Loryna, but 6 months in I started to notice different changes with my body. My cycle was off, my mood was terrible, low libido, and my breasts were larger. Overall, I just did not feel like myself. I shared my concerns with my gyno, and she said that my body was 'adjusting.' This didn't make sense because at the time I was 36 and had been on birth control before. You adjust the first 6 months, but not after taking it for 6 months. Needless to say, I had an abnormal pap. I stopped taking Loryna immediately. 6 months later, after stopping Loryna, colposcopy and folic acid... my pap was normal again. Unfortunately, I also found a lump in my breast. LADIES, PLEASE REFRAIN FROM TAKING THIS GARBAGE. It is not worth surgery, chemo, radiation, or the lifelong worry of dying from cancer."

"I have been taking this birth control pill since I was 16! I am now 20, and within the past 4 years, I haven’t had anything negative to say. I love having the ability to not take the reminder pills and to have the ability to just skip my period altogether. This birth control works great for me, and I just keep an alarm on my phone to remind me to take it at the same time. I still do get very light cramping here and there, and spotting is rare but happens. I would honestly recommend this pill to many because it helps with acne, hasn’t made me gain weight, and doesn’t make me crazy. Birth control does affect everyone differently, but I feel as if this one is worth a shot coming from a long-time user."

"Loryna was the first-ever birth control I've ever taken, and I've been using it for around five months. At first, I had nausea spells, and my boobs were really tender, but that went away within the first month or so. Before taking it, I had the worst cramps imaginable, and there was never a time when my skin was clear. Since taking it, my periods are light, I don't cramp at all, my skin has cleared up tremendously (still breaking out on chin/cheeks a bit, but that could be from me wearing a mask at school/work/etc.). My boobs actually went up a cup size. The reason I'm actually switching to another pill, though, is because of my mood swings and the weight gain. I have been extra irritable and sensitive to the point where I don't know how I acted before the pill, and since taking the pill, I've gained 15 pounds. I am scared of switching since Loryna was good for me, but I want to see if there is a pill that will help my mood, clear my skin up more, and get myself back to my regular weight."

"I haven’t gotten pregnant, I did gain like 5 pounds, but probably from quarantine, and I have taken it off now. I don’t think it has affected my hunger. I have so much more hormonal acne though, which was the purpose of taking this pill. I get monthly periods, but on the like 5th day of the inactive pills, or when the inactive pill week is over, it’s so weird. It took a whole year for the cramps and period to get lighter. I didn’t notice right away, but I think my mood swings are from this pill. Whenever my period is coming, I feel like I need therapy and can’t control the way I behave to my boyfriend or family. I'm finally switching to Tri Lo Sprintec next month to give it a go. If it doesn’t work out, I’ll go over to Junel Fe. I took that one for 3 years and felt fine, and the only reason I switched was because I hoped it would clear my acne and improve my periods. While it did help the periods, it took so long to work."

"It was okay. It was the first pill I was on, so I thought all the side effects were normal. I’ve been spotting brown blood since I started it back in late March, and very recently I started bleeding bright red blood during and after intercourse. As soon as that started happening, I got really bad migraines that wouldn’t go away. I just switched today. Other than that, it was good. I didn’t gain weight, I didn’t get acne, tender breasts were a thing, but it wasn’t unbearable. I was also skipping the placebo pills, so I didn’t have an actual period or breakthrough period at all."

"First of all, this pill will make you think you are pregnant by giving you all the symptoms of pregnancy. I had breakthrough bleeding for over a week, and I just today stopped taking this birth control because of it. It made me depressed again. It made me uncontrollably mad for no reason, I just can’t control my anger. So, time to switch to a different one."
