For Birth Control "Was on Gianvi for 2 months. Stopped taking it because it gave me mood swings and caused me to break out more (which was the reason I wanted to take it in the first place). My sex drive was really low the first month, but it got back to normal. I had terrible cramps before, and this actually helped a lot. I had an awful time trying to concentrate on things, and overall it just made me feel crazy..."

For Birth Control "I was prescribed Gianvi to treat hormonal acne. I have never taken another form of birth control prior to this and was hoping it would help with my cramps as well, though I had a regular period that was heavy and would last 6 days typically. Unfortunately, this drug didn't help me. In the beginning, I noticed my acne actually got worse. My mood began to fluctuate far more frequently than it normally did. I started experiencing the most severe cramps I've ever felt, with diarrhea that lasted days. I also had a very light, inconsistent period, which made me nervous that I would lose my period entirely. There were a few days where I stayed in bed because of the pain. I know everyone’s different, and this drug may work great for other people, but I personally would not recommend it. I stopped taking it after a month (even though you're supposed to take it for at least three) and don't know if I want to try a different one at this point."

For Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder "I was on Yasmin and loved it. I lost weight, my skin cleared, my cramps and bloating gone. I had severe PMDD, and it helped, BUT I was bleeding constantly. I felt so good I stuck it out for 8 months hoping to adjust, which I didn't, so my doctor switched me to Yaz and I ended up with the generic Gianvi. It's AWFUL! My mood swings are back, I'm depressed, and have no energy. I gained 4 lbs and cramped 3 weeks out of the month. My back hurts. And I'm still constantly bleeding. I made it through two packs, but I can't take anymore. So I'm switching again."

For Birth Control "I was on Gianvi for one year before stopping. At first, everything was great, regulated periods, clear skin, great sex drive. But as the months went on, everything kept getting worse and worse. By the time I went off the pill, my placebo weeks were debilitating. I was wearing incontinence pads because my period was so heavy, I had cramps and back pain that kept me in bed and on tramadol. After going off, I spent 3 1/2 months going through hormone withdrawal and landed in the hospital because of the withdrawal effects. It's not been 5 months, and I have not stopped bleeding since going off Gianvi. My gynecologist and PCP have tried everything to stop my bleeding."

"I have been taking Gianvi for about two months now, and I have nothing but negative info to share. I started cramping the first month. I spotted the entire first month of taking it. My boobs were extremely sore. My sex drive decreased like none other. I am never in any kind of good mood. I am super sensitive and touchy to the littlest things. Every little thing sets me off. I have always been a very relaxed person."

For Birth Control "I just recently started taking Gianvi for about a week now, and I already feel some of the side effects. I'm in and out of sleep and feel nauseous in the mornings. I got my first headache and have little cramps in my lower abdomen. I don't really have a lot of bad things to say about Gianvi since I just started a week ago, but I'm hoping these side effects will go away soon."
